Even with no DRM I don't know how anybody can justify sticking with Microsoft when they only did this because of how badly they got their ass handed to them by Sony. I'd rather stick with the people who never originally intended to fuck me over to begin with.

If I did get the Xbox, I could care less about Kinect being on. If it bothered me, I'd turn it to face the wall. As it is, I could never imagine using it no matter how good the software.

Even with Microsoft changing their tune I still don't like the fact the Kinect is always on. I don't like the fact that big brother can tune into the kinect and listen to our conversation probably misinterpreting it with threats to country. They do that y'know.

Don't kid yourselves, Sony would have DRM if they thought they could get away with it. If the X box one had kept DRM and still sold well then Sony wouldn't be long following suit with DRM. Their primary aim is to make money.

You cannot but the PS4 will not be backwards compatible either. Nor will it play your old 360 games.

Backwards compatibility really is not an issue for me at all, it's not like I'm just gonna chuck out my old console once I get the new one any way.

Dead Rising 3 is going to be an Xbox One exclusive. Also, Insomniac Games's first nex-gen release, Sunset Overdrive, is going to be an Xbox One exclusive. I mention this last one because Insomniac Games are known for their Sony-exclusive franchises.

I believe that's all of the Xbox One ONLY games, there are others that are Xbox exclusive but are also coming to the 360.

Neither console is backwards compatible, the PS4 isn't because the Cell was a piece of shit, and they've ditched it, emulating it would be too CPU intensive. 360 games would run like ass on the XB1 so that's also out - some games may be covered by your subscription though as downloadable games but discs won't run.

AFAIK the Xbox live subscriptions cost the same as they always have, however it is likely that both services will offer exactly the same though, old games for free and unified friends lists and the likes. As well as the new 'share' feature, although at least Microsoft don't have a fucking button dedicated to it.

In other news how amazing was The Last of Us.

If you have a PS3 and haven't played it yet you should follow these simple steps.

Stick a pencil up each nostril.
Slam ends of pencil on a desk/counter top*
If you survive, go buy the last of us.

*do not actually do this, it has a decent chance of causing significant if not fatal harm

I thought the ps4 was going to be half backwards compatible using gaikai to stream older gen games to the ps4? I know discs won't work but that seems like an alright way to go about it without the hardware expense.

Is it wrong that the last of us is sitting in my draw still in the plastic wrap? Because I've still got like 80 hours of ni no kuni goodness to get through before I can go play another game without my OCD going crazy and I inadvertedly proceed to stick pencils up my nose and slam them down on a table
