actually they did announce one exciting thing, albeit only for those in the US and Canada.Nothing exciting announced, expected with E3 being in a couple of weeks.
Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Mario. All of which are already announced for being at E3.What could Nintendo announce that would potentially save the Wii U? A new Zelda? 6 new Zeldas?

And yeah, Wii U Zelda too could help. But nothing is known about that yet.
What was the most successful console last generation? Wii, which suffered from a major lack of 3rd party devotion. Don't tell me that's a problem. It's not.So Mario? Again? Wasn't there a mario game released earlier this year? The ridiculous 5 player one? Didn't exactly help did it? I mean the Wii U's major issue isn't 1st party titles but rather the lack of 3rd party devotion. They're aren't getting any Unreal Engine 3(Or the latest engine whatever it is) support and one of EA's Senior Engineers had bad things to say. Also how can it hope to compete with the specs of Gen 4?

Oh, and a new 3D Mario adventure is a big deal. Look at Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. NSMB is not a major series.
Oh, and Wii had shit specs compared the the PS3/X360, and they not just competed, they beat the living fuck out of those 2 systems.
That person wasn't an EA developer. He had changed his twitter profile.
NSMB sells better than the 3D series.
EA said Vita would be the best handheld when it stopped developing for the 3DS and we know how that's turned out.
Yeah I'm concerned about the WiiU but fucking hell it's a Nintendo Direct 3 weeks before E3, of course there wern't going to be big announcements.
I do not own a Wii U yet (lack of funds), but please explain how the sytem is convoluted. I found it VERY easy to play with whenever I used it. Sure there is not a ton of games yet, but that was the same with every system when it first comes out. No it wasn't a perfect launch, but neither was the PS3. It turned out just fine. The Wii sold like hotcakes because of how accessible it was at launch for all age groups with it's new motion sensors. The WiiU is not at all like that and as a result is hemorrhaging money, look at it's sales. So in a case such as this; yeah third party support is fucking needed to try and make back what has been lost. Take off your fanboy glasses for a minute. There's next to no actual reason to get a wii u right now unless you're looking for the most convoluted gaming system in the market now.
A new Mario game would BE the reason to buy the system, just like a new Zelda game would, or even a new Mario Kart game would, or a new Super Smash Bros game would. And at E3 they are definitely showing off 3 of those.Hell i bought a wii for the gimmick because at the time it was pretty great. Games like wii sports shamefully kept me occupied because the gimmick worked and games like Galaxy 1 & 2 gave me a reason to keep it. You're arguing that the new Mario should do the same as Galaxy but will that give people a reason to buy the system in the first place?

Similarly, a new Halo game would be a reason to buy a new X-Box (for some people, I find Halo to be shit to be quite honest), or a new Sony exclusive would be a reason to buy a new Playstation.
1. Using your logic, how can X-Box fans feel about their controller which is a ripoff of a Playstation controller? The Wii U Pro Controller is as different from the X-Box controller as the X-Box controller is different from the Playstation controller. How does using a controller AND a rather big tablet in one feel at all easy to use? There's a pretty basic and logical reason why most game controllers aren't huge and Nintendo show off a lack of focus when the pro controller is just a rip off of the Xbox pad. Also with how convoluted it is, it lacks a lot of basics with it's online mode such as half assed ideas(An unbelievably bad friends list/miiverse connecion as well as missing what has become the standard for online play such as group chats and achievements/trophy implementation)
Why should I want something new if what he have has worked for close to 30 years? This is what i don't get. How can Nintendo fans like the fact that Nintendo uses the same IP's(In this case Mario) over and over? Surely they'd need some new ones that can give Nintendo more of a consumer base because as of now it seems like they bank off nostalgia and children. That being said what appears to be the new Eternal Darkness could be extremely interesting.
So what I get out of this whole statement is that the other systems don't keep their characters going, building trust with their fanbase, which would lead to a better, more popular character. Mario is a perfect character/game. They will never run out of stories because the story is not what sells the game, the gameplay is (get that, what a novel concept, gameplay selling a GAME, maybe other companies should try that). This is what i referred to earlier, for the most part Sony don't carry their IP's over from gen to gen. Jak and Daxter finished with the PS2, and Uncharted finished with the PS3(Allegedly), and while games like God of War and Killzone did carry over; one was finished this gen(I hope, GoW has run it's course) and the other was only one game. InFamous is following through if you'd even call it that as it seems to be taking the Far Cry route and crafting new stories around the same world. They are also heavily rumored to be getting the exclusive rights to Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy Versus XIII - Two cash cows.
Did you call Kingdom Hearts a cash cow?
The friends list/Miiverse works quite well actually.
PSA wasn't an overwhelming success but it was far from a total flop, just saying.

Oh, and by the way, every part of Nintendo's controller is a NINTENDO innovation. Face buttons, Start/Select, and D-Pad? NES. Shoulder Buttons? SNES. Analog Stick? N64. The other people copied NINTENDO as much as Nintendo "copied" them.
2. Have you ever used the Wii U Gamepad? The thing feels AMAZING. Ridiculously easy to use. Sure your hands a slightly further apart then they are with a basic controller, but it feels wonderful.
3. While I can't speak for Wii U online capabilities, PS3 doesn't have group chat either, so their online must be total shit too.

They made BILLIONS off of "nostalgia and children" so why should they all of a sudden start making something else? That would be stupid business

Sony never kept its characters going, and if you'd take off your Sony fanboy/Graphics-****e hat (see, I can be rude just like you) you'd notice that they have no characters that actually are worth anything, as can be seen by the total flop known asSuper Smash Bros.Playstation All Stars Battle Royale.
Oh, and they have made new series. Pikmin and Animal Crossing say hi.
Did you call Kingdom Hearts a cash cow?

The entire franchise has only sold 17million. Considering it has 7 in the series that's not a cash cow.
