So I took the plunge and I bought Resident Evil 6, despite hearing some of the reviews of it.
The game itself is pretty solid. It has a shit-ton of quick-time events though, and absolutely no scare factor. So far a friend and I are playing through Leon's story and we're digging the co-op. But between constantly talking to a friend, and the tone of the game there is absolutely no scare factor to it.
The explosions make up for the scares however.

Really wasn't expecting horror from Resident Evil. At least in the past two sequels they at least attempted to add the factor of survival. Past the tutorial level I have yet had the feeling of fear. Ammo for weapons is plenty due to the fact ammo drops and weapons are shared between the co-op players (you see a box of pistol ammo, you can pick it up and your partner can go over the same box and grab it as well.)
Maybe after Veteran I'll pump it up to Professional mode and solo it and see if I get the feeling it is an actual survival horror game.

Still don't know whether or not to buy RE6. I really only want to play as Leon again and I do want to know about Wesker Junior(Jake I think his name is ). Am I better off watching the story on youtube or should I buy it Pancake?
Leon's seems like a horror-ish attempt but it could succeed IF THERE WASN'T A FUCKING ARROW GUIDING YOU EVERYWHERE.
Please tell me you can turn that off? I'm getting the game tomorrow. I wish Wesker hadn't died in such a shitty game. At least if Chris & Leon killed him in this it'd be a bit cooler rather than the ridiculous stuff that led to Wesker's death.

Story is very interesting as right now there is a major serve in the Leon story. I don't expect any different playing through Jake's(Wesker Jr.) and Chris's stories. If you only buy Resident Evil for the story then by all means, however if you're looking for any substance stick to just watching it on a stream or on youtube. This game is painfully easy considering the majority of it is quick time events and cut-scenes.
Did anyone here actually ever find Resident Evil games to be scary? I've played 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and a slew of the spin off titles and apart from one or two small things(Regenerators in RE 4, Nemesis once or twice if you never noticed him in RE 3) at points, they were never really that scary. I have RE 6 on the PS3(Which seems to be the better system to play it on) and I'm liking Leon's story a lot. It's reminiscent of the old games, i keep running out of ammo and the enemies are slow. Then again i guess that will change with Chris' playthrough.

Just picked up RE6, about to play with some friends. I hope it's good.
I have to admit, I had a bit of fun when I got around to the segments allowing 4 player co-op. And the interlinked stories are all really good. But honestly the 9000000000000000 quick time event gets dull to say the least.

Nah. A student shop at my college claims to fix it as well as a Sony Centre(Or at least replace it). I've had this for 6 years and this has been my only problem with it. I'm not 12 so Xbox doesn't really appeal to me

Well after my first session I must say that RE6 is highly entertaining with friends. Haven't played campaign alone and until further notice I don't plan to. I haven't played a RE game since five and that was for a short time so getting used to the RE system of play is a bit difficult for me and this game can be frustrating so I wouldn't recommend solo unless you don't have any friends with this game at all.

I take it back, Jake's campaign is probably the only one you'll find fun playing alone. Nonstop action pretty much. Don't recommend the other two without friends though.

If this doesn't make you want to get a Wii U and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition then you have no soul. Tekken characters dressed as Nintendo Characters. Mario Powerups in the level that actually alter your character.

Yeah that right now is one of the only things tempting me to buy a Wii U, but I'm still wondering whether or not that would satisfy me for more than like a three days before it gets old.
