Gamers unite -HQ

So I came up with the perfect name for Valve's rumoured console - The Steam Engine.

Hold your applause.

Edit:

You attempted to reach nintendolee.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as *.wordpress.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of nintendolee.com.

You should not proceed, especially if you have never seen this warning before for this site.

Sweet, sorted. I usually link to http as sometimes the s can cause problems.

The HTTPS link shows up as untrusted because your browser doesn't have the security certificate. It's a matter of adding an exception and it goes away.

I get this all the time when logging into the DSL cards at work. They're set to https and I need to add an exception to get to them. It's nothing to worry about.

Speaking of Nintendo, the first bargain I've got from GAME in a long, long time:

Ocarina of Time for a tenner. Can't argue with that.

I know you have it, yeah I paid £18 too. I will also buy the 3DS versionseeing qas I have every major 3DS game (aside from MGS).

Now that I have a computer that can run games right I've been taking full advantage. Finally, I can play Batman: Arkham Asylum at full speed. I've also picked up a few other games and have really been having some fun. Have some mini-reviews of what I've been playing lately (many thanks to http://www.gog.com/ and their sales)

Screamer - Fun racing game. Very old-school and rough by today's standards, obviously can't hold a candle to a racing game done today (like WipEout HD, which I will put over until the end of time), and the announcer/commentator can get a bit annoying, but all in all it's good for a fun romp here and there.

SHOGO: Mobile Armor Division - Fun, but very unpolished. Gameplay-wise I'd even put Duke Nukem 3D over it, and that was released two years prior. Deus Ex was released two years after and that outclasses it by miles. That said, it's still a lot of fun to pilot a giant robot in an FPS and the voice-acting's good. I've not gotten extremely far yet, so these are preliminary thoughts. It's really kind of weird having environment interactions happen automatically and not being able to put your weapon away when on foot. Graphics are pretty sub-par as well. But still, it's fun. Hope the story holds up.

Freespace 2 - A blast. Controls can be a bit complicated but once you're used to them it's one heck of a space sim. Really immersive and even without the texture update it looks great.

Guilty Gear X2 Reload - Love it. Absolutely love it. Can't wait for Guilty Gear XX HD to come out on PSN. Guilty Gear may be my favorite fighting series of all time just because of the speed and crazy characters. Pure entertainment. It's also, you know, actually fun to play while still having a lot of depth. It's not as complete as Accent Core (which is what HD will be based on) but still worth the price.

Anachronox - RPG with a great aesthetic. Wish they hadn't implemented the save point feature and had made it save anywhere on any difficulty, but oh well. My only real problem so far is the camera angle that the game does whenever you talk to anyone. The voices are good as is the concept so far. i've heard it's a really funny game, too, but I'll have to see for myself once I get further on.

Soulcalibur V - It's not a fighting game, it's a dressup and party game. And I'm okay with this. The online play with friends is hilarious, creation is fantastic though some costume conflicts can get really annoying, and story mode (despite being able to make a drinking game out of how many times you hear the word "malfested") is actually worth playing through for more than just player points and costume parts. Multiplayer is really where the meat of the game lies though. Far better than the incredibly disappointing Soulcalibur IV, even if there's no Zasalamel. Ezio's a great guest fighter, too.

So yes, that's been my life in game form as of late. Fun times.

I played the demo on the vita. first time I have ever played a Raymon game. I like it, but not for $68... I'll wait for it t drop down in price.

Darth Vader and Yoda were in SoulCalubur IV. No way can SCV be better (even if Vader/Yoda have no right being in the same era as the SoulCalubur cast).

But you've just made a dig at a game that got reviews about the 8.5 mark.
