Not put your quote in proper context? Are you high or something? Maybe you have a poor memory or you're just stupid, but I took your entire post. What exactly is out of context there?
Alright, if you want to start the name calling you can, because I'm more than down if you want to start actually hurling the insults instead of debating a point. However, that's a losing battle you will fight on your own, because I can make my point by not having to stoop to your level and make you look second best coming out of it. I really don't see the need for you to go down to that level, but I am not going to follow you.
What I meant by out of context is that you might as well have quoted the OP and compared what he said to what I said in response to him, instead you just had my reply in your post. Granted people more likely have read what the OP said in the first place. However, if you were that adamant to challenge me on my point, you might as well have had his words in your reply towards me as well. But anyway, forget that let's move on, because I would like to address a few more things you said. Shall I?
If you aren't a TNA fanboy, you sure do a good job of acting like one. Let's review:
Other than just saying one minor thing about how I originally had an issue with what the OP said, how does that make me a fanboy of TNA? Simple answer it doesn't. Read through most of my posts here on the forums, I haven't really made all that many and you could see that I try to take as objective an approach to anything and everything I say in regards to pro wrestling, I try my best to avoid any bias. However I will admit over the years I've definitely had my preference in wrestling brand and that has changed every once so often. From the 80s through 90s it was hard for me to not want to watch WWF, it was my favorite promotion that I as a youth particularly liked more than the AWA and Jim Crockett Promotions. I even continued to like WWF and wrestling in general at a time when it wasn't "cool" to like it since the audience was dwindling especially in 1992 when the WWF took a MAJOR public relations hit with their steroid and sex scandal controversies, not to mention what is probably the biggest reason, the lore and magic of Hulkamania was starting to wear out for most people, but I still remained loyal when you had guys like Bret Hart, British Bulldog and Shawn Michaels getting respectable singles pushes. It was during this time that I was probably at my most adamant phase as a fan, hence my Bret Hart avatar. During the 90s I have great memories of wrestling from more than one company, I was a huge fan of Bret Hart's come from nowhere title victory over Flair and his subsequent title matches in his first reign against Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, and Yokozuna. Then of course the years that would follow with great talents like Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Cactus Jack, Vader, Sting, Flair. During those moments I remember so many things between both companies, i.e. Cactus Jack losing his ear against Vader in a match, Flair putting his career on the line at Starrcade 93, Bret Hart's path towards reclaiming his World Title and eventually doing so at WrestleMania X, Hulk Hogan leaving WWF for WCW and helping to eventually reinvent the wrestling wheel once again. To me professional wrestling is professional wrestling and at that time I couldn't get enough. If I'm a fanboy of anything it's wrestling, the artform itself first and then we can talk organizations afterwards! To me it didn't matter which organization these performers were working for, the bottom line is that as a fan I got a constant fix of pro wrestling action. Sure I knew there were different promotions and I might have had some biases but it didn't stop me from watching more than one outlet for it and at the end of the day, all I cared about was there was wrestling on my television. Again note the fact that I have a Bret Hart avatar, a talent who I must add is STILL signed to his current WWE deal. Gee, if I was to unabashed in my "fanboy" lust of TNA, why would I represent my online identity here with an image of Bret Hart? If that doesn't give you an indication of where I stand as a fan, I don't think there'll be much else I can do to get the point across to your ignorant self.
I am going to condense your next batch of rhetoric because the following quotes all tie together and I can give you a better answer, not that it'll do me any good because you probably won't have the open mindedness to even bother accepting any answer that doesn't seem conducive to your assumptions about me as a wrestling fan.
When the OP only made a joke about how ironic it would be if Vince decided to put the title on gail kim to make her the "first" woman to hold all 3 chamipnships. Where exactly in that does he say that TNA sucks, or that the product is garbage, or that he hates it?
I wholeheartedly admit to having a degree of presumption when answering wrestlingking's initial posting on this thread. Did I answer things in the most tactful manner? I can look back now and see that I didn't, but I was fair to wrestlingking and when he posted a rebuttal to my statement, I gladly met him half way and admitted where I might have gone a little too far in what I said. You're not hearing any denial out of me. At the time it seemed like he was trashing TNA a tad bit, and I just took exception because to be honest I read far too much negative rhetoric and sense a great deal of a "know it all" attitude from a good majority of the IWC, however I can admit when I might not be in the right and that happens to all of us, but I can say with a great degree of confidence I am very good at admitting when I am wrong no matter to what degree I might be, I will admit it time in and time out. It's you Athena who I think might have a great degree of issue with that.
Simple. You call it irony; seeing a company (which has had a history of taking shots at the WWE) hint at making a former WWE talent the first woman to hold all 3 titles and then snatching it away from them. Nothing about that has to do with being a fanboy.
As much of a WWF/E fan as I have been over the years, I am not going to look at things with a bias and say that WWE is innocent in the "shot taking" game. If you have bothered to ever actually watch the product, you'll know some of the "cute" stuff WWE has done. Granted, if I were in charge of TNA, I'd stray away from such antics because they do nothing to help their cause at least in my view. But definitely don't start with me on WWE and pot shots, because it's apparent Vince enjoys getting "cute" as well. Obviously TNA is not a big enough entity to give Vince any reason to go all "Billionaire Ted" again since he's not in the position where he has to at this point. But WWE is no "victim" here in the war of taking pot shots at the competition. It'd do you best to take great heed to having a better memory, because again you wanna make a presumptuous point I will call you out...period.
I did do my homework, though it looks like you've already backtracked on what you said so I suppose there's nothing really more to say
I did not backtrack, I met wrestlngking halfway on a point and apologized for my presumptions, I still stand by how I initially felt, I at the time thought he was starting this thread to just cause more aggravation amongst WWE and TNA fans. After his reply I saw that was not the case and I eased up on my feelings, people have a right to do that without having to get people like you trying to get all "cute". I find it very humorous and desperate on your part that you are going to accuse me of "backtracking" when all I did was meet someone halfway on a point of disagreement. Your argument holds even less weight with me since you have seemed to want to avoid quoting me from that post where I indeed concede my initial hostilities towards wrestlingking, just goes to show how petty you truly are. But what more can I expect from an opinionated dilettante like yourself?
And in all honesty to get back to the original thread, if they were to give Gail Kim the Diva's title, it would be an interesting booking decision, she is an accomplished ring talent and if she beats Mickie to the punch so be it, however in my view the WWE Women's division as has been the case for quite some time truly is an afterthought as we all know and the most talented wrestlers in it either get released or are left to rot on the vine.
But yeah bossman, you BEST avoid presumption when trying to call me out on when trying to categorize me as a fan, because I in no way tried putting such a label on you and the fact that you resorted to that shows you to be the less than intelligent one here at least in regards to this topic.
But to once again make an allusion to your labeling me as a fan boy, here goes, this is what breaks me down as a fan and this is what I like about wrestling in this PARTICULAR order...
1. The artform itself
2. The performers in it
3. The organization (To me that will always be dead last. Sure there are some that present their product better, for instance I will never take anything away from WWE's production values they are still second to none and TNA has a LONG way to go to catch up with that. However, just because something looks better and seems better doesn't always mean it is. WWE to its credit has done a great job at establishing an audience and maintaining a good amount of it, but that doesn't mean they're always hitting the ball out of the park with their product. Their current numbers while still figures I am sure TNA would DIE for and at this point I concede WWE is THE COMPANY and will be for quite some time, but still their numbers aren't up to the standard that we know WWE to have been able to perform at before.)
So in closing, I think YOU are someone that needs to go back and reevaluate what it means to be a wrestling fan, because there's more to it than just picking the sides between promotions and then having the audacity to want to try to start a flame war with me by calling me "stupid" just because I stood by a point I was trying to make, even if it seemed a little too headstrong for you.
