Gail Kim Returns to TNA

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
Obviously a number of you/us knew about this already due to the idiocy and ignorance of a few posters who don't understand how to read rules or stuck threads explicitly instructing people not to post spoilers, but for those who managed to actually not have it ruined for them, Kim returned to TNA on Impact tonight, attacking Velvet Sky after seemingly being brought in as muscle by Karen Jarrett.

While I'm far from a Gail Kim mark (frankly I'm not a fan of hers at all), one thing she adds is an injection of new blood into a Knockouts group that's been largely dominated by the same handful of names for the last number of months.

While I doubt she'll get put into a title match just yet (that seems to be Madison's spot to lose for the time being), she'll almost certainly remain in the title picture as part of the Jarrett/Rayne entourage.

Thoughts on this?

I was Very Happy to see Gail Kim return to TNA. Like you said Gail is fresh and adds some new blood to the KO division. She is a good women's wrestler IMO and it seems like she will be feuding with Sky and if she does get a title match before Rayne does I think she can carry Velvet to a good KO match.

This is hype if ya ask me. You don't only bring back Gail Kim. but you bring her back at a heel. And I fucking love it. she makes Madison fail and Karen fail look like goddess. Thank you Impact Wrestling for making some of the worst heels I have seen in like forever somewhat likable.

I haven't been a fan of the knockouts lately, but I have waited to see Gail Kim return where she can actually be utilized. Its good to see some fresh talent in the mix with the knockouts again, and maybe we can get away from Velvet sky and the god awful Winter storyline for once.

what a total waste. I write this as I have already changed the channel as Karen angle-jarrett has come out and completely ruined this whole segment(I read the spoilers). First let me say that Karen angle is NOT or NO WHERE NEAR what Vickie Guerrero(and I know that's what they're trying to make her as). ZERO credibility in any aspect of professional wrestling(unless u see her as a real life version of the Stephanie "****" gimmick). That being said...Usually a lower card wrestler will be placed with a well established wrestler/manager in order to make them more relevant for fans. Well that's all I see for Gail Kim..she's just there to try and get Karen angle-jarrett over. I still am a big fan of the knockout division but I think they've moved on and no longer in need of whatever star power or freshness Gail Kim has to offer. sorry Gail..but what a total waste..

Kim's best work was with Jarrett and AMW back in the day in TNA. She did an awesome job back then and her stuff with Kong was some of the best woman's wrestling I have seen in the USA.

I am glad she is back and a heel. It will be interesting to see what they do with her now.

I'm curious to see where this goes from here on out. Its true that Gail Kim's best work was with TNA. But I really don't see her getting the title right out of the gate. Velvet does make a good underdog champion in any rivalry that she could be put in. Madison should be getting the push to challenge for the belt since she has developed a "friendship" with Karen. I can't picture Gail being the muscle of this group, but she is the wild card. I'm glad to see her back where she could be used properly.

Gail Kim coming in as a heel was well done now Karen's bitching that velvet sky doesn't deserve to be champ actually has some merit to it. Gail Kim did so much work in TNA as a manager for AMW and as the first knock out champ...

Gail was the first knockouts Champion in TNA, and as a heel I wonder if TNA will book her right but I know for sure she will be putting on classic matches with women like Mickie, Velvet, Rayne or Tara depending on how long she stays a heel.TNA's Knockouts Division is really deep, and ODB and Jackie will return as well.

Gail has done zero in what? 6-7 months at least...now she jumps in cause apparently the wind was blowing towards TNA again, and is a number one contender? Hmmm what a waste I don't care what Gail did way back wrestling Kong those days are long gone and with Mickie, Tara, Angelina and Winter Gail is a small fish in a big pond.

Kong/Kim is my favorite women's rivalry. I enjoy Kim because every move she makes has purpose(even when she eliminates herself lol). Idk whether Rayne or Kim gets the 1st shot, but I'm excited either way. Those two being together could give Tessmacher & Tara a rivalry later down the line, especially with Karen Jarrett trying to turn the KO into "ladies"(and you could place Tessmacher in the same category as Sky). Kim/Tara & Kim/James are the matches I want to see the most

I guess adding someone new as a heel will help the story line to go along with Karen and Madison vs Velvet and Traci. have to give Kim credit as she is a "name" and she was recently in the WWE, so maybe TNA is hoping she can help pull viewers from WWE over to TNA.

I'm hoping eventually that Traci will overtake Karen to be the one to run the Knockouts. I find Karen very annoying and hope I don't see her on TV much more.

personally Kim returning, ehh, whatever. doesn't really interest me. the number 1 reason I watch the Knockouts is to see hot women, and I personally don't find Kim all that attractive.

The bowing out of the battle royal was still beyond unprofessional who is to say she wont do something like that in TNA?

did you hear that awesome crowd reaction..... they couldn't have cared any less if they'd piped in any more cheers/boos for Gail. How long until she's moaning about something again? 6 months.... tops.
her anti wwe promo next week might get her more over.

I guess it'll be nice to get some more talent in what I view to be a rather lackluster Knockouts division. I really enjoyed watching the Knockouts perform before Kim left for WWE so hopefully she can add that spark that the division has been lacking for a few years now. I'm guessing Sky will successfully defend the title against Rayne at some point which will pave the way for a title feud between her and Kim.

I for one am excited to see Gail back in TNA, hopefully if this recent infusion of additional talent leads to the logical broadening of the field in the KO Division, what with Gail Kim and Toxine [ugh] thrown into the mix it might be a refreshing change from having the same four ladies feud all the time.

Big fan of Gail Kim. Even if she can be a bit sloppy.

The WWE brought her back because she was so popular in TNA. So, I can't blame her for being brought in and never utilized. Why didn't the WWE capitalize on that? I still don't see the point to why she was signed. She deserved to be a top contender in the Divas division and the WWE once again dropped the ball. TNA might be a small company, but at least there she was given the opportunity all the time and she was happy because to show off her skills. Why be in a company if you are unhappy right?

Not surprised. Gail's TNA run was far better than either of her WWE runs. I don't like her much and never have, but she is better off on Impact. She adds another name to the Knockouts roster and her coming back opens up the potential for a few new feuds. I'm not looking forward to any title matches involving her because I'd rather see girls like Madison or Mickie in the title scene, but at least it will be better than anything WWE's girls get for their angles. I can see her getting a title shot or two somewhere down the line.

Velvet Sky has loads of heel Knock outs she can have potential matches/feuds with currently and Gail Kim will become another on that list. I'm not sure if she will immediately get a shot, and I doubt her cohort Madison Rayne would like this either but she will sooner than later I'm guessing. I'd actually like to keep these two away from each other as much as possible initially. Have Velvet do what Madison did in similar fashion running through the KOs roster only in a gutsy, scrapping, fighting champion sense. Finally she faces the original Knock Out Gail Kim and enters a feud which hopefully culminates in a Gail Kim face turn. What I don't want to see is Gail come in and remove the strap from Velvet too soon, velvet IMO excluding Mickie is easily the most marketable and over KO in the division and she needs to establish herself in this title reign.

It's nice to have Gail back and with Velvet, Madison, Mickie James, Sarita, Winter, and Tara you have a solid division. Where's ODB and jackie?

Gail Kim is talented inside the ring. When it comes to presence or promo skills, she definitely doesn't measure up to many of the other Knockouts but she does lend some degree of credibility to the Knockout Division as she was really, I guess, one of the pioneers of the thing.

At the same time though, I think it's too early to get overly excited about much. The Knockout Division isn't nearly what it once was the first year of its existence. Overall, generally, the Knockout Division is on par with the Divas in WWE. That means several things such as having legitimately talented female wrestlers on the roster, most of them just being there for background presence, matches that mean nothing most of the time and little to no actual relevance to the product aside from providing sex appeal for male viewers.

So yeah, I'm not expecting a return to the days of sunshine as far as the Knockouts go anytime soon.
