This was a good Raw except for the part where someone decided that we should hear from both DH Smith and Evan Bourne.

Okay. So the Second Amendment allows for gun possession in order to keep a standing militia for the sake of the defense of the state, correct? It was mainly to keep a repeat of King George passing an Act (Stamp Act, I think) that forced the Colonists to allow British Troops to be garrisoned in their homes. It's the same reason why Church and State are so eagerly separated in our founding documents. We didn't want another Church of England, with our President at the head.
Don't the states have that in the form of the (Insert State Here) National Guard?
So, say if some Tea Partiers in....oh, I don't know, Oklahoma, were trying to legally start a militia there to protect the state from the "steamrolling of state's rights," (AP Don't Know What to Think) would the militia not be redundant?
Hell, can a state even form a militia that has the express purpose of "limiting federal power?" That sounds mighty like they're trying to threaten secession. Especially by having a separate militia that answers to no one but the (I'm assuming) governor?
Fuck it. Forget my Constitutional argument. How would a state use an independent militia to block federal laws? Would they stand at all interstates that enter and leave the state and block any traffic from out of state? I mean, that's an excepted forum for the Federal Government to regulate, and rightfully so. I don't know, I'm just trying to understand these ideas that people keep spouting out.

Im the mall sunday, sweatpants, sandals, tank top. two day scraggly beard.
Well, I walk past this girl that was SO stunningly pretty, that I kinda stared, and she caught me. Well, I just kept walking becuase she didnt look like the type of girl who would give me a second look in a million years. I mean she looked like this total preppy princess, very very well dressed, make up perfect, conservatively dressed, etc etc. I figured if anything, I would have frightened her, lulz.
SHE approaches ME and says "you can stare, but you don't say hi? what's up with that?"
I was like "uuuuuhhh...look at you, and look at me"
Her "What are you talking about, your gorgeous!!"
Me "Oh I know, I just meant like, you dont seem like you would have wanted to talk to someone in sweats and a beater with tons of tattoos and all that"
Her "Oh no no, your totally my type, and I would never judge someone without talking to them!!! Here is my number, call me later!"
I texted her later, which then prompted HER to call MEEnded up on the phone for two hours. She informed me she has tattoos on her tit and on her ass, she had to do them there becuase she does state beauty pagents.
Ridiculous.

I didn't really read this because I am imagining it is some pro-leftist pro-big government, anti-gun rant.
If you take the guns away from the people, no militia could form in times of need. I am not going to join a militia as things stand, but if they keep moving the way they are, then I may want to. If you take the guns away, that option won't be open to me.
Furthermore, something about cold dead hands is coming to my mind.

The Oklahoma national guard is as interested in the safety and well being of the citizens of Oklahoma as the Oklahoma City Thunder. Every state national guard acts in support of the national military. They are there to sandbag rivers and be jackasses at bars.
The only true militia has to be of the people. Remember, a small group of concerned citizens is all that has ever been able to change the world. The terrorist forces we fight in Afghanistan would have to be the model for a militia in these days in times. If the US Armed Forces rolled through and tried to impose the will of Obama, the people would have to resort to IED's.
That's kind of sad to think about, but it's the way it would have to be. They have tanks.

Okay, that makes sense I 'spose. The Tea Partiers aren't as batshit as I originally assumed. It'd be the same as if Bush declared martial law for some batshit crazy reason. We'd need a militia to fight back.
