Del Rio flashes a smarmy grin at his challenger but this simply sets Orton off, causing the Viper to bolt straight at his adversary. However, Alberto quickly ducks underneath the second rope and forces to official to push Randy back. Orton rushes forward again but Del Rio hides beneath the turnbuckles so that Randy can barely lay a finer on his prey before the referee steps in. Eventually the Mexican Aristocrat wanders towards the centre of the ring and the Viper does not waste a moment, sprinting forward so that champion and challenger can engage in a collar and elbow tie-up. With unadulterated rage fuelling his movements, Orton easily blasts Del Rio’s fences aside and clocks him in the gut with a knee lift. A pair of stiff right hands to the forehead quickly follows and Orton hurls Del Rio roughly into the nearest corner, his face set in a snarl. Randy goes in for a clothesline as Del Rio rests his back against the ‘buckles, but the ever crafty champion dodges out of the way and heads to the ropes. With a crash against the ropes, Del Rio builds up some momentum as he charges at his opponent but Orton is two steps ahead and cracks the Mexican in the jaw with a picture perfect dropkick. Orton bundles his rival up to his feet and rocks his jaw with a trio of European uppercuts but as he attempts to a swing a swift, closed fist, Del Rio ducks under the contact.
As Randy spins on his heels to face his opponent, Alberto winds back his leg and batters the Viper in the gut with a kick. Orton doubles over and gasps for air, allowing Destiny’s Darling to stand over the Viper and holds his arms out wide, a huge smirk on his mug. Del Rio wraps Orton’s arm over his shoulder and hoists the former world champion vertically into the air, trying to delay his suplex for a few moments longer. However, Orton shifts his weight, drops straight back to the mat and breaks free from his adversary’s grip. As Alberto stumbles slightly, Orton leaps forward and wraps his arms around the neck of the World Heavyweight Champion, looking for an RKO! But Alberto scrambles, manages to shove Orton away to the ropes before promptly charging at his opponent and swinging a clothesline. The Viper avoids the shot and instead hurls Del Rio from the ring, forcing him to grab onto the top rope to avoid crashing to the outside. But the relieved look on Del Rio’s face vanishes in an instant as Orton takes a small run up and batters the Mexican from the apron with a hearty shot. The World Heavyweight Champions lands with a crash and Orton is quick to follow him, haul him up and throw him face first into the barricade. Randy grimaces as he watches Del Rio crash into the barricade, almost as if he is regretting his brutal actions but that look disappears as his rival stands to his feet.
Holding his face, Del Rio staggers out towards Randy Orton and the Viper shows no mercy as he throws his rival high into the air with a back body drop, sending him slamming into the outside padding. A rather satisfied look on his mush, Orton pulls Del Rio up by his hair and directs him towards the ring only for the Mexican to push his rival off and scamper towards the ring steps. Randy seems wary to follow Del Rio, but he quickly bolts forward as the World Heavyweight Champion flashes a grin and shimmies his chest as if to say ‘come get me’. The Viper swings a punch but Del Rio springs out of the way, yanks on Orton’s tights and pulls him into the steel ring steps, causing his shoulder to bang violently off the stairs. The crowd voicing their disapproval, Del Rio steps into gear for what seems to be the first time in the match and quickly shoves his hurt challenger under the bottom rope and into the ring. Several stomps rain down onto Orton’s left shoulder and arm courtesy of the Mexican Aristocrat and, after he lays the wing out flat on the canvas, Del Rio bounces off the ropes and connects with a running senton to the battered limb. Randy writhes around in pain but Del Rio does give him much time to recover, instead placing the targeted arm up behind Orton’s back and driving him into the mat with a back suplex. The Viper howls out in pain, trying desperately to shield his arm but Del Rio drags his rival up before reeling off a snap suplex. Orton crashes onto his back and Del Rio piles on top of him, hooking a leg...

Randy drags himself towards a set of turnbuckles and Del Rio swiftly follows him, launching a sharp, hard kick to his arm. Not content with just a single shot to his adversary’s hurt limb, Del Rio unloads punch after punch to Orton’s left arm, only stopping once the official steps in. After a stern lecture, the referee allows Del Rio to venture back towards the ‘buckles but Orton absolutely thunders out of the corner and knocks him down with a clothesline. As Alberto tries to swamp the smidgen of Orton’s momentum, the Viper cracks him over the head with multiple right hands. A boot to the gut for Alberto quickly follows and Orton then kicks him squarely in the side of the head as he stands doubled over. After a moment of hesitation, Orton leaps into the air to hit another dropkick but Del Rio swats the attack away, and swings a jagged kick of his own. With a grin, the Viper catches the shot, drops his adversary to the mat and quickly catapults the Mexican into the corner. After battering his face into the top turnbuckle, Del Rio’s back is crunched with an elbow from Orton as he lies in the corner and the Viper then connects with a DDT as the champion stumbles out into the centre of the ring. The Viper manages to break free of the hold after a third elbow to Del Rio’s chin, and he grabs a hold of the Mexican’s greasy head of hair. 2... ORTON POWERS OUT BUT HIS FACE IS GLAZED OVER WITH PAIN!
After stomping all over Orton’s body with a flurry of kicks, Del Rio furiously slaps his chest and soaks in the furious ire of the entire WWE Universe. Alberto lays Randy’s left arm out to his side and quickly flocks to the corner, climbing it with apparent ease and then surveying his downed opponent with glee. Del Rio drops from the top with a senton aimed directly at Orton’s arm but his back, instead of hitting flesh, slams into the canvas! With a slight stutter, Orton climbs back to a stable base and hits closed fist after closed fist to Del Rio’s head face, the Mexican practically defenceless to Randy’s flurry. Del Rio attempts to cower in the corner but Orton tracks him swiftly, pushes him into the ‘buckles and clocks him repeatedly across the face. With a satisfied yell, the Viper shoves a weary Del Rio into the side of the ring and plants him into the mat with a scoop powerslam as he bounces back off the ropes.
The Viper hurls Del Rio into the corner with an Irish whip and charges straight after him, only to run right into an outstretched boot from the Mexican Aristocrat. Following a stumbling Orton, Del Rio dashes back towards his rival but the Viper slips behind him, locks him in a tight full nelson and crunches him into the ground with a body slam whilst the Mexican is still caught in the submission hold. Destiny’s Darling staggers to a stable base and claps two firm hands onto the Viper’s shoulders, attempting to pull off a Backstabber only for Orton to slip underneath his competitor’s grip and pull him into an inverted headlock. The WWE Universe cheers madly as Orton only hesitates for a single moment, to offer a mad grin to Ricardo Rodriguez on the outside before he drops to his knees, connecting with his patented backbreaker. As he spots his adversary stumble on his heels and collapse into the ropes, Orton crashes into him with a clothesline and sends him sprawling to the outside. Randy quickly follows the Mexican Aristocrat as he clambers onto the announce desk and swiftly grabs a handful of his rival’s hair. With a snarl, Orton seems intent on smacking Del Rio’s arrogant face into the Over the Limit logo painted across the announce desk, but pulls him up as Alberto stares just inches from the table.
Randy seems to be fighting a conflict within his own mind and screws his face up, as if he craves to batter Orton’s face into the announce desk but just can’t put himself up to it. Instead, Orton lifts Alberto up, cracks him across the face with a closed fist and runs towards the apron in order to hurl him under the bottom rope. After rubbing down his left arm, the Viper clambers up onto the apron and slowly climbs to the top rope. However, he doesn’t even get a second to assess his surroundings or gather his thoughts as Del Rio nimbly leaps to the top rope and cracks him across the back of the head with an enzuigiri. The duo both collapse to the canvas but Del Rio manages to turn over onto his stomach and drape an arm over his challenger’s chest...
