Friday Night Smackdown!
Orlando, Florida, 6th May 2011

To start the broadcast we are immediately informed that the world is watching before the usual Smackdown introductory video package is played, complete with a range of new faces thanks to the WWE draft. The video finishes with a shot of Alberto Del Rio raising the World Heavyweight Championship high above his head and then fades to black, another package about to begin...

*Start Video*

A flurry of fireworks explodes on the stage, with the titantron displaying the Extreme Rules 2011 logo.

Michael Cole:
Ladies and gentlemen... are you ready to get extreme?

We jump right into it as the Corre face off against the Big Show, Kane and Kofi Kingston in the middle of the ring, an official holding up the Intercontinental and one of the WWE Tag Team title belts between them.

Booker T: An entire team is going to have to be eliminated here, how could you count out Kane and Show?

Each elimination flashes by in a matter of seconds until only Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston remain; both looking exhausted and pained. Barrett lifts the Ghanaian up onto his shoulders but Kofi bravely wriggles out and incidentally knocks down the referee with two feet to the temple. A thunderous Trouble in Paradise kick, exaggerated with a gunshot effect, leaves both competitors flat out on their guts, very still on the canvas.

Michael Cole: Wait, what is Ezekiel Jackson doing here?!

Ezekiel Jackson stumbles into the ring, and after a few choice words for Barrett, he charges at the Englishman but only succeeds in ploughing through Kofi Kingston. Jackson’s eyes widen as he realizes what he has done but a prompt low blow allows Barrett to dump the big man from Guyana to the outside of the ring. The Corre member immediately takes advantage, planting his adversary with the Wasteland and covering him for the three count.

Josh Matthews:
Thanks to a powerful effort from Wade Barrett the Corre retains their gold, but only just.

The Corre stands on the stage with their championship gold, looking happily down at a downed Ezekiel Jackson and an unconscious Kofi Kingston.

Booker T: The Corre should be ‘thanking’ Jackson as well...

The scene shifts suddenly...

CHECK, ONE TWO... OH YEAH!

Booker T:
Jack Swagger? Why is he even out here right now? He doesn’t have a match for tonight!

Swagger on the microphone, his promo cut down to pieces by the editing crew.

Jack Swagger:
You would think that a general manager would see something wrong with a former World Heavyweight Champion not competing tonight at Extreme Rules, but not Teddy Long. A man with the background and the pedigree that I possess should be competing for the world championship...

YOU KNOW IT’S THE MACMILITANT...

Teddy Long waltzes out through the curtain looking slightly annoyed that a superstar from his brand is interrupting the show.

Theodore Long:
Hold up, hold up, I’m going to stop you right there playa’! Now Jack, you have been very outspoken about your supposed hate for Smackdown for a number of weeks now. But let’s see if you really believe everything that comes out of your big mouth... if you lose your match up next I will terminate your contract.

Swagger loses his cool as he notices Chris Masters sprinting down the ramp, the Masterpiece tackling him down and unloading punch after punch once he enters the squared circle. Highlights of the match now flash across the screen, powerslams, spinebusters and suplexes galore.

Theodore Long:
Oh and to keep with tonight’s theme, the following is a no disqualification match!

The package winds down to the conclusion of the match – with the All American American trapped in the Masterlock! After several futile attempts to escape the lock, including hurling himself and his opponent through the second rope and to the outside, Swagger reverts to a low blow to gain a reprieve. A sharp shot to the knee with a steel chair and moments later Masters is tapping the canvas in submission, giving Swagger the victory.

Michael Cole:
He is one of the brightest young stars in the whole of the WWE with that victory. I hope Jack is drafted to RAW tomorrow night so that he can compete on a real wrestling programme and save himself from that dictator Teddy Long.

Swagger’s earns his giant smile back as he slowly tramps back to the lockeroom. The screen switches again as Edge and Christian make their entrances, snippets of Edge’s promo earlier in the pay-per-view playing over the highlights.

Edge:
We are going to be in an Extreme Rules match tonight, it may seem cute that it fits in perfectly with the night but I can promise you this – it is anything but.

Crack! Singapore cane shot after cane shot, missile dropkick, and a big boot to Christian’s skull.

Edge:
Hardcore environments are my speciality and I thrive in them!

Inverted DDT, chair shots and a back suplex onto the steel.

Edge: These idiots may cheer Christian all they want...

Captain Charisma hits a flurry of right hands but gets cut down with a club to the back.

Edge: But tonight, victor is going to be the same man it always is; ME!
The Rated R Superstar hits a vicious spear to a leaping Christian, but only gets a two count!

Josh Matthews:
How did Christian get out of that one?!

Edge then goes for another striking spear but Christian avoids it, sending his adversary into a steel chair and allowing Captain Charisma to roll up Edge for the win.

Justin Roberts: Here is your winner... CHRISTIAN!

Christian doesn’t have much time to celebrate as he is cracked in the back with a steel chair, a number of shots follow and Edge finishes off the assault with another spear.

Michael Cole:
I don’t exactly encourage this, what did you really expect?

A shot of Edge posing on the stage, rock horns up high, with his back turned firmly on the crowd. Edge’s back disappears and it is replaced with Alberto Del Rio heading to the ring, the image of Rey doing the same played soon after.

Justin Roberts:
The following is a ladder match and it is for the World Heavyweight Championship!

The exciting ladder match is highlighted, all of the big spots are shown including the moonsault to the outside and the gutbuster onto the suspended ladder.

Josh Matthews: This one could go either way; it’s like a seesaw here in Tampa!

Shots are then shown of both men climbing the ladder before the other thwarts his efforts. Finally the last battle between the two is shown on the top of a gigantic steel structure. After initially missing, the title belt strikes the back of Del Rio’s skull and Rey makes a grab for the belt...

Michael Cole:
Rey is going to do it! Rey Mysterio is going to become the new World Heavyweight Champion!

Mysterio has his hands on the leather but a swift enzuigiri causes him to lose his grip, and possibly his consciousness as he falls backwards and only avoids a nasty fall by getting his leg trapped in a rung. All Del Rio has to do is reach up and pull down the gold and he does to a mountain of heat. A few shots are shown of Del Rio celebrating on the ladder with his newly retained title before it moves on.

Alberto Del Rio:
I will climb the ladder and retain my World Heavyweight Championship because it is my DESTINY!

Del Rio holds his title high into the air on the ramp, his face gleeful yet arrogant.

*End Video*

After an abundance of blue fireworks are set off near the stage, the cameras zoom around the arena in an attempt to capture as many rowdy fans as possible. After a small while of this, we go straight to the announce team, consisting of Josh Matthews, Booker T and Matt Striker.

Josh Matthews: Ladies and gentleman you are watching Friday Night Smackdown, coming to you from Orlando, Florida! My name is Josh Matthews and I am joined by Matt Striker and the five time world champion, Booker T. We are just a few days removed from the exciting pay-per-view event known as Extreme Rules and the landscape has been shaken up once again due to the WWE Draft last Monday on RAW.

Booker T: True Josh, I am so excited to see the fallout from Extreme Rules here tonight and I also can’t wait to see some of Smackdown’s newest superstars in action right away. Smackdown struck it big on Monday for sure; Sheamus, Randy Orton, and Daniel Bryan – some incredible talent is heading our way.

Matt Striker: Extreme Rules was an incredible show but what occurred on Sunday is now in the books and everybody on the Smackdown roster, both new and old, needs to focus their thoughts upon Over the Limit, which is only four weeks away.

Josh Matthews:
Although Smackdown received its share of new competitors, many were lost also and one of those men is the Intercontinental Champion – Wade Barrett. Barrett has demanded, and received, the chance to give his farewell address tonight before he permanently moves to RAW.

*Realeza*

Boos and jeers meet the sound of the world champion’s entrance music and the honking of a horn signals that Alberto Del Rio is making his way to the ring. After prancing around in front of the stage side fans for a few moments, Del Rio abandons his luxury vehicle at the side of the stage and steps onto the walkway, World Heavyweight Championship gleaming on his waist over a white suit and light blue dress shirt.

Ricardo Rodriguez:
Señoras y señores, si yo pudiera llamarte así, den la bienvenida al ring, el Campeón Mundial de peso pesado... ALBERTOOOOO DELL RIOOOO!

The Mexican poses towards the crowd and sets off an extravaganza of golden pyro rain before he struts into the squared circle, Ricardo Rodriguez graciously bowing to his employee, handing over his microphone in the process.

Boos rain down on Del Rio before he has even spoken a word.

Alberto Del Rio:
My name, my name is Alberto Del Rio and I am your World Heavyweight Champion – but you already knew that!

Heat.

Alberto Del Rio:
But what you people didn’t know, what you didn’t expect from me on Sunday at Extreme Rules was that I was going to prove that I belong at the top of the food chain. I climbed the ladder, I grabbed my title belt from the rafters and I left Rey Mysterio in a crumpled heap beneath me, exactly where that filth from Tijuana belongs.

More hate from the crowd, they don’t like hearing Del Rio badmouth one of their heroes.

Alberto Del Rio:
However, I’m sure that everybody listening to me speak right now has seen enough of and heard enough about little Rey for a lifetime. I didn’t come out to the ring to speak about filthy pests, I came out here tonight to speak about an issue that has been plaguing my mind for a number of weeks now, ever since that faithful night in Atlanta, Georgia – Wrestlemania. I have noticed that every time I enter your presence, either to wrestle or to talk, I haven’t been receiving the friendliest of reactions from the WWE Universe.

The WWE Universe in Orlando proves this point in full, unloading heat.

Alberto Del Rio:
And I am asking you, no I am telling you to cut it out immediately!

More hate from the crowd for Alberto, the camera cuts to the outside where Ricardo Rodriguez is trying to shush as many fans in the front rows as possible.

Alberto Del Rio:
You people may not like me at a personal level but you sure as hell better respect me, because it is you who I am representing as a champion of great honour and class. I am everything you could ever want! Every week I make history! You people here in Orlando may not acknowledge my accomplishments but in Mexico it is a whole other story. Every step I take on the ground in San Luis is considered holy, every word that leaves my mouth is worshipped by thousands and any enemy to me is an enemy to them. I would apologise if you don’t appreciate my success but there isn’t a thing I can do about it, it’s my destiny after all. So, WWE Universe, take notice because I have had enough of your blatant disrespect!

The crowd boo their little hearts out; Del Rio takes it all in his stride, his angry expression turning to a calm one before he continues.

Alberto Del Rio:
But I digress. My grandfather once told me that if one wishes to remain on top of the world, one must look towards the future and try to predict the challenges that lie behind the fog. And, as all of you people would know, Smackdown’s domain has changed dramatically since Monday’s draft and I know for a fact that a lot of people, some new to Smackdown, will be gunning for the title belt that is leaning over my shoulder at this very moment.

More heat.

Alberto Del Rio: But what I have seen of these new superstars, I am not intimidated in the slightest. I will be surprised if any of them will even want to step into the ring with me, they won’t be much of a challenge to the greatest champion in Smackdown history-

IT’S A SHAME THAT THEY LOST THEIR HEAD, A CARELESS MAN COULD WIND UP DEAD!

*Written in My Face*

To Del Rio’s annoyance one of Smackdown’s newest stars Sheamus steps through the curtain and walks down to the ring. The fiery haired, pale skinned juggernaut saunters down the ramp with a sly grin on his face to a rather mixed reaction, the WWE Universe unsure how to respond to the Celtic Warrior. With a microphone in hand, Sheamus steps into the ring and stands opposite the World Heavyweight Champion.

Sheamus:
Don’t be dismayed Alberto, I would have absolutely no trouble in challenging ya’ for your championship, believe me. In fact, it would be a great honour for me to wrestle ya’, especially considering your, uh, prestigious background.

Del Rio doesn’t seem to like Sheamus’ sarcastic tone, but the Irishman’s grin remains on his face.

Sheamus:
Oh, I’m sorry if I’m being rude, I haven’t even introduced myself properly yet. You may know that my name is Sheamus and I am one of Smackdown’s newest superstars but what you didn’t know is that I am going to be the next heavyweight champion of the world.

A rather mixed reaction from the crowd; they don’t really know how to support fully – Sheamus receiving the majority of the slim share of cheers. Del Rio looks plain ticked off at Sheamus stealing one of his lines.

Sheamus:
You may ask: ‘why?’ It’s because last Sunday at Extreme Rules I lost the United States Championship and my waist already feels cold without the warmth of a title belt covering it, but the championship that is on your shoulder at the moment Del Rio will be a fine replacement to go alongside the title I snatch from the Miz next Monday on RAW. I crave the feeling of being a champion, the prestige and power cannot be received from anything else in the world and just like the best of RAW couldn’t stand in my way, I doubt you will be able to either.

Sheamus smiles arrogantly and crosses his beefy arms while Del Rio doesn’t seem faced in the slightest; he adjusts the belt on his shoulder and raises the microphone back up to his mouth.

Alberto Del Rio:
Thank-you Sheamus, thank-you so much.

Sheamus shrugs his shoulders and mouths ‘why?’.

Alberto Del Rio: Thank-you so much for proving my point to perfection, I couldn’t even understand half of what you were saying. I am actually surprised that you have enough brains to even find your way down to the ring, let alone wrestle the most prestigious wrestler in the company for the most prestigious prize in this company.

Del Rio smirks as he got the reaction he wanted from the Irishman, Sheamus walking up and getting right into the champion’s face.

Sheamus: Is that right, fella?

I HEAR VOICES IN MY HEAD, THEY COUNSEL ME, THEY UNDERSTAND, THEY TALK TO ME!

*Voices*

The two men in the ring quickly separate from their stare down and the crowd pops incredibly loudly as Randy Orton enters the Smackdown arena, staring his slow descent down to the ring. The huge noise level sustains itself for the duration of Orton’s trip towards the squared circle, the Viper snatching a microphone before stepping into the ring and looking around at the two men already in the ring.

Randy Orton:
I hate to break up this meeting of the minds but I, just like Sheamus, would like to throw my name into the hat for a chance at your title.

A giant pop for Orton as he looks towards Del Rio but Randy soon continues in his low and gravelly voice.

Randy Orton:
It has been a long time since I have been here on Smackdown and although I didn’t initially like the fact that I had to move from RAW, after a bit of thinking I have come to accept my fate. I had to be honest with myself, I had done everything that I could have done on Monday nights and by competing against completely new competition I could be able to justify the claims of being the be-

Alberto Del Rio:
And why do you believe you should be given a title match with me?

The crowd boos mercifully at their champion and Del Rio looks furious now that two men have interrupted his celebration speech. A hint of emotion fails to cross Orton’s face as he turns from looking at the crowd to setting his cold, grey eyes on the Mexican aristocrat.

Alberto Del Rio:
You may have won countless WWE Championships and beaten legend after legend over on RAW but here on Smackdown you are going to have to start afresh because the blue brand is now my domain and you... are... nothing!

Randy Orton: You shouldn’t test me Alberto.

Pop.

Randy Orton:
Because in just one swift movement I could punt you so hard in the skull that I won’t need to beat you for the World Heavyweight Championship, I’ll be wrestling for a vacant title belt.

Another huge pop, Del Rio, who was previously just a foot away from Orton, now backs off slightly and allows Orton to continue. Sheamus watches on, almost bored with the proceedings.

Randy Orton:
I have been called many things over the years, some of these names I am proud of, some I am not so fond of but recently some have been calling me... they have been calling me (slight pause) the best competitor in the world today (pop) but... but, I don’t believe that is true just yet. However, if I can add another world championship to my resume and successfully adapt to my new surroundings, adapt to a whole roster of superstars I have never faced before, well that could be a right step towards earning that moniker.

The crowd is eating up Orton’s promo and once again Randy sets his gaze upon the World Heavyweight Champion opposite him.

Randy Orton:
And no, I don’t want a title match handed to me I want to earn it and I couldn’t think of a better way to earn it than by facing a former champion such as Sheamus.

A rather mixed reaction as Randy turns towards Sheamus, the Irishman woken from his slight slumber.

Sheamus:
Bring it on Randy!

YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!

*Metalingus*

Any cheers for Orton’s proposal are soon extinguished as a very familiar theme music plays around the arena, hate now raining down towards the stage as Edge, his face set with anger, walks down the ramp. The Rated R Superstar, with a microphone in hand, starts his address before he even steps into the squared circle, his words dripping with hate...

Edge: Whoa, whoa, whoa, stop right there. I cannot believe the audacity of you two, both of you have only been on Smackdown for one night yet you believe you deserve to be the number one contender and go to Over the Limit to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship.

By now, Edge has slipped through the ropes and looks around at Sheamus and Orton.

Edge:
Well, you must be out of your minds because that isn’t going to happen. I have worked too darn hard to craft Smackdown into a dominant force over the past several years and I am so sick of not being accepted as its brightest star. But here’s the good part, boys. Because I can be rightfully recognised as the top dog here on Friday nights if I recapture the gold from Alberto over there, a title I never even lost in the first place. Then I will be back at the top, my rightful place, the only place for someone like me. Don’t believe I deserve to be at top again, just look what I did to Christian last Sunday night.

A ton of hate for that remark from the Rated R Superstar, Randy then turns to face Edge.

Randy Orton:
Wait; didn’t you lose at Extreme Rules Edge?

The WWE Universe pops, Edge looks furiously back at the Viper.

Edge: I wasn’t the one who needed three other men to carry me to the locker room after my match, so yes, I was victorious at the end of the night.

The comment from Orton seemed to push have Edge over the edge as he gets right into Orton’s face and starts mouthing off, Del Rio shadowing that action with Sheamus. Several tension filled moments pass with an all out brawl ready to start before...

YOU KNOW IT’S THE MACMILLITANT...

*MacMillitant*

Theodore Long steps out onto the ramp to a respectable pop, the four men in the ring look up at him with varying levels of emotion but you can tell they all are very interested in what their general manager has to say.

Theodore Long: I am going to ask the four of you to stop your bickering because I have already made up my mind concerning the challenger to Alberto Del Rio’s World Heavyweight Championship.

The four Smackdown superstars stare up at Teddy.

Theodore Long: As Smackdown has been shifted so dramatically due to the draft on Monday; in tonight’s main event there will be a battle royal to determine the new number one contender. Twenty select superstars will battle it out at the end of the night in an over the top rope extravaganza, whoever wants to go to Over the Limit is really going to have to earn it!

Sheamus and Edge look up towards Long with disdain but Orton remains steely eyed, Del Rio nonplussed.

Theodore Long:
But, seeing as you three; Sheamus, Orton and Edge are so eager, you will be competing in separate singles matches before you even enter the main event contest. I really want to see what you three got, especially since you consider yourselves to be some of the best superstars on the brand. Holla, holla!

The crowd cheers exuberantly as Long exits the stage through the curtain, but the other three men, bar Del Rio, aren’t as cheerful.

Smackdown returns from a break with the camera roaming around a locker room before it focuses upon David Hart Smith, another of Smackdown’s newest wrestlers throws his bag into a cubicle and sits down at a bench. The Canadian doesn’t receive much of a reaction, if any, but the shuffling of feet causes Smith to look up from his dawdling and he locks eyes with a man he is very familiar with – Tyson Kidd, the young man looking ready to compete in ring with baby blue tights and matching boots. The Calgary Kid receives a sliver of heat from the live crowd as he walks up to his former tag team partner and holds up an arm in order to shush Smith, the big man looking as if he was about to say something.

I know what you are going to say David but I don’t want to hear it; I want you to hear what I have to say first for once.

A few more boos, Smith frowns slightly but still listens intently.

Tyson Kidd: I hate to admit it but I haven’t been having the best few months of my life. But, I know for a fact that this is true for you as well. I remember when the two of us were together as a unit in the Hart Dynasty we found success time and time again. At one point we were on top of the world as tag team champions.

Kidd’s usual arrogance has been replaced with what looks like desperation; DH Smith continues paying attention to his former tag team partner.

Tyson Kidd: I am hungry David, I am starving and I want now more than ever to be able to taste the feeling of success once again. Now that the two of us are back on Smackdown, we can start afresh and set our sights back on the titles that we once wore around our waists, the WWE Tag Team Championships. Every tag team in the company is now in one place and they are all gunning for those titles, but what a perfect way to reassure our greatness than by capturing those championships.

Tyson throws out his hand, a glint of hope in his eyes, for DH to shake...

Tyson Kidd: So does that sounds like an idea or what?

Only for Smith to get off his seat, his bag in hand, and make his entrance by shoving past his former partner, Kidd looks dejected and hangs his head before we leave the scene.

We cut back to the ring where Sheamus is standing tall, his music still playing in the background and the Irishman receives a tonne of heat as he is introduced by Tony Chimel. Sheamus hits his chest a number of times before he lifts his beefy arms into the air to gain some more heat, the former WWE Champion then waits in the centre of the ring with his eyes set on the titantron – unaware of his opponent’s identity.

*Masterpiece*

With a low drum beat, the arena darkens and the crowd cheers piercingly for Chris Masters as he steps onto the stage. Sparks of pure white firework emanate around Masters, his tights matching the colour of the pyro, as he poses in a variety of positions before he makes his journey down on the ramp and into the squared circle. The Los Angeles looks focused as ever and once he has stepped through the ropes he doesn’t hesitate in walking straight towards Sheamus, the two young bulls’ noses just inches away from one another before the official has to break them up. After he manages to pull the two apart and send them to opposite corners, the referee signals for the bell to be rung.

Match #1
Singles Match
Sheamus vs. Chris Masters

Two of Smackdown’s young guns put on one hell of a match full of hard hitting offence and neither man managed to gain a decisive advantage over the other for a sustained period of time. Sheamus was booed mercilessly with every rugged attack he hit on the ever popular Chris Masters but the Masterpiece more than held his own, using his freakish power to execute some incredible slams and other manoeuvres. Nearing the conclusion of the contest it was anyone’s match; Masters bombarded his opponent with clotheslines, a diving shoulder block and then, after ducking under an Irish hammer, he scored with a shattering spinebuster! The crowd began to raise the noise level as Masters motioned for his patented submission hold, the Masterpiece, by clasping his hands together high above his head. The gigantic Irishman stumbled backwards into his enemy but before Chris could get a decent grip on Sheamus’ shoulders, the Irishman countered by swivelling on his ankles and, still with Masters’ arm draped under his armpit, got into a perfect position for the Irish Curse backbreaker, which he executed with ease.

The Los Angeles native writhed around on the mat in serious pain, clutching the middle of his back, and this is where Sheamus took over, bouncing on the balls of his feet in anticipation for Chris to get up so that the big man can seemingly be taken out with the Brogue Kick. Chris rose slowly to his feet and only just avoided the contact with Sheamus’ big right boot by inches, pushed his opponent hard into the corner and then sprinted off the ropes. Masters rebounded back and launched his body at his opponent but Sheamus dodged the attack and sent the Masterpiece crashing into the turnbuckle, the big man obviously winded by the force. After the impact he turned around and was swiftly booted in the gut, doubling him over, and allowed Sheamus to power his opponent up and get him into a precarious position for the High Cross. With heat raining down, Sheamus started to sprint forward and attempted to drop Masters on his head but Chris slipped out – and appeared to tweak his knee! Masters didn’t seem heavily affected by the fall but the split second interference is all Sheamus needed to step forward and drive his boot into the side of the Masterpiece’s face with the Brogue Kick. The Irishman didn’t take any chances with the cover; he hooked one leg and held down Masters’ shoulder with his other arm to secure the victory.

Winner: Sheamus by pinfall (8:47)

Sheamus manages to drag himself to a stable base and loudly remind the fans that he was the winner of the contest as he has his hand raised. The Irishman stumbles back up the ramp with exhaustion plastered across his features, leaving a woozy Masters down on the mat to be attended to by the match official. A final grin from the former WWE champion is the last thing the camera catches before we head to another commercial break.

*Commercial*

When Smackdown returns the camera switches to what appears to be a medical room and the crowd pops loudly as the view settles upon Captain Charisma, Christian. The Canadian is hastily adjusting a bag of ice behind his back and winces suddenly as it touches his bare skin, Christian keeping it steady upon his lower back. Christian keeps the pained expression upon his face as Matt Striker, on commentary, wonders aloud what kind of condition Christian is going to be in come tonight’s battle royal considering the damage he took at Extreme Rules as well as on RAW last Monday Night. With a final glance into the distance, we leave Christian to his thoughts.

***

We then switch gears as a dark graphic splashes across the screen, receiving a giant reaction from the live crowd – because it features the Undertaker! A large image of the Undertaker, signature hat on his noggin’ and pupils rolled into the back of his head takes up the majority of the screen with a line of text - ‘The Undertaker Returns to Smackdown Next Week’ - scrawled along the bottom. We immediately cut back to the announce desk where Matthews informs the viewers that he can confirm that the Undertaker will be on Smackdown next week to make an important announcement. Striker takes over, stating that what The Deadman could possibly want to speak to the WWE Universe about maybe has something to do with the fact that The Phenom could barely make his exit from Wrestlemania after his war with Triple H.

*La Vittoria è Mia*

The moment his theme music hits, Santino Marella bursts through the curtain to a nice ovation from the crowd, Vladimir Kozlov following closely behind. Marella and Kozlov try to involve as many members of the WWE Universe in their entrance with high fives and such as they waltz down the ramp, Santino the one introduced to compete tonight. The two are wearing matching blue kits and look quite the team as they clamber up the steel steps and stand by one another in the centre of the ring, Marella still show boating as his music dies down.

*In the Middle of it Now*

Curt Hawkins makes his entrance in quite a different fashion to his opponent for the night, almost sulking down to the ring in his sleeveless leather jacket and beanie. The Long Island native slowly walked towards the squared circle, receiving plenty of boos and jeers along the way, showing complete disdain for the crowd as he sneers at every passing face. Eventually Curt slides under the bottom rope and stands across from Santino but he offers no more kindness to his opponent than he did to the WWE Universe, removing his jacket before hurling his beanie in Kozlov’s face at ringside.

Match #2
Singles Match
Santino Marella w/Vladimir Kozlov vs. Curt Hawkins

Marella tried his hardest to earn the victory throughout the contest but it seemed as though Hawkins was merely enjoying punishing the Italian. With his arrogant attitude Curt received no love from the Orlando crowd but he didn’t care, he used the match to show off some of his extraordinary, yet certainly painful offence. Near the conclusion of the match, Hawkins was in total control as he slapped the top of Marella’s head so that he could set the Italian up for the Taste of Pain facebuster but the momentum of the move allowed Santino to roll out the side, push his opponent into the ropes and drop Curt with a hip toss on his way back. Although Kozlov began to thump the ring apron, the crowd needed no direction in getting behind Santino as the Italian unloaded a series of right hands to the mug of Hawkins. The Long Island Loner managed to a duck a giant swinging punch but as he attempted to get back into the match he is booted in the gut and sent sprawling backwards with a variation of the stunner! One saluted headbutt later and Santino has Hawkins right where he wants him, down on one knee and about to rise – perfect timing for a Cobra set-up, which Santino does with glee. The WWE Universe cheers extravagantly as Santino roars for his favourite manoeuvre and as Hawkins rises to his feet, the Italian swings wildly at his head but Curt blocks it! The former tag team champion caught Santino’s right (Cobra) forearm and bicep in his grasp and doesn’t hesitate in locking Marella’s leg over his neck and flipping the Italian head over heels and down first face onto the canvas with the Recluse Abuse! On the outside, Vladimir Kozlov mirrors the groans of the crowd but inside the ring Hawkins drags a groggy Santino up to his feet before planting him straight back down with the Taste of Pain. A nonchalant cover, no hooking of the legs needed, moments later and Curt Hawkins earned the victory.

Winner: Curt Hawkins by pinfall (4:32)

To some intense heat, Hawkins, after refusing to have his hand raised by the match official, ascends the turnbuckle and sits perched with his eyes set on a downed Santino. Curt rises up to his full height and bends his knees to leap out, but Vladimir Kozlov rushes into the ring and stands in the gap between his tag team partner and Hawkins, the giant Russian enough of a suggestion for Curt to make his exit. However, although he looked as if he was about to descend up the ramp Hawkins doubles back towards the time keepers desk and snatches a microphone, hastily raising it to his lips.

Curt Hawkins: I want everybody in the back to pay attention to what I have to say because you won’t want to miss it. I will tell you now, it doesn’t matter who it is against or when it happens but soon enough I will be a champion.

Heat.

Curt Hawkins: And I am not one to go against my word so I want everybody to know if you get in my way you are going to come off second best because I have never been more motivated in my life to achieve my goal of ri-

‘You suck!’ ‘You suck!’ The WWE Universe’s chant throws Hawkins off his promo momentarily and he stares around at the crowd with complete hate in his eyes.

Curt Hawkins: As I was saying, with a title around my waist I can finally get ri-

‘You suck!’ ‘You suck!’

Curt Hawkins: You know what? I’m not going to say another word, all of you sheep can find out the hard way.

And with that, Hawkins hurls down his microphone and storms up the ramp, Kozlov and Santino still in the ring as the Italian woozily gets to his feet with the help of his tag team partner.

We cut to a hallway where Alberto Del Rio is walking placidly, still in his pristine suit and clutching the World Heavyweight Championship. Ricardo Rodriguez follows closely behind and after a few moments of uninterrupted strolling, Todd Grisham makes his way into the scene with a trusty microphone in hand and sets about his work right away.

Todd Grisham:
Alberto what are your thoughts on general manager Theodore Long’s decision to hold a battle royal in order to decide your challenger at Over the Limit?

Rodriguez looks on impatiently as Del Rio snorts disapprovingly.

Alberto Del Rio: Trent I don’t have time for many of your questions, I am a champion, I am a very busy man. But just so you will leave me alone, I will quickly give you my thoughts. Honestly, I don’t care for Teddy’s decision for tonight’s main event because it doesn’t matter who walks out with the victory. It doesn’t matter Tim because the winner of the battle royal will go on to face me, Alberto Del Rio. The greatest champion Smackdown has ever seen.

Boos and jeers galore as Ricardo nods energetically behind the champion.

Alberto Del Rio: And I don’t know how a one on one match with me is such a great prize. Now, if you will excuse me I must get back to my locker room, plant myself in a plush leather couch, turn on my pristine television and watch the rest of Smackdown with Ricardo here. For scouting purposes of course...

And with that Alberto and his personal ring announcer wander away down the hallway and soon enter a door, Todd Grisham watching on slightly stunned.

I’LL BE YOUR END OF DAYS!

*End of Days*

The three remaining Corre members make their way down the ramp towards the ring, all kitted out in custom t-shirts with their respective championships fitted firmly on their waists. As the trio make their differing entrances into the squared circle (Barrett walks up the steel steps and then performs a ‘big right hand’ towards the crowd with his title belt in hand, Gabriel jumps onto the apron before leaping over the top rope and standing on the second rope, posing to the crowd and Slater slides under the bottom rope and slaps the metal of his title belt as he coos loudly) they also have differing expressions upon their faces. Gabriel is as stony faced as ever while Slater and Barrett look ecstatic as the Englishman is handed a microphone from his stable mate.

Wade Barrett: Quiet down please you hicks, I know I was drafted to RAW on Monday but I have been given this time to speak, to give my farewell address by the higher powers of this company. I may be saying goodbye to you Smackdown faithful right now but I know that I will never, ever be forgotten. In just five short months, I turned the entire brand on its head. I formed the most brilliant group of young stars that the WWE has ever seen, men that will continue to be leaders for some time to come. I brought together three men that were considered nothing and I am turned into more than something, I made them winners, champions. I turned a trio of nobodies into a formidable pack – together as one, working together to serve the good of the group.

Some intense heat for Barrett’s words, Slater applauds his friend while Gabriel listens with his head slightly cocked to the side, almost unbelieving of Wade’s words.

Wade Barrett: I, sorry we, took out the some of the biggest and baddest competitors in front of the entire world and we stamped our mark for everybody in the back to see. But despite taking the Corre to incredible heights including winning two of the most famous championships in all of the WWE and scoring a victory in front of more than 70,000 fans in the Georgia Dome, I didn’t receive the damn respect I that I deserved from everybody.

Heat.

Wade Barrett: Ezekiel Jackson. I made you! Without me, you wouldn’t have slammed a five hundred pound giant, you wouldn’t have earned victory after victory and you sure as hell wouldn’t have had your Wrestlemania moment alongside the Corre. Just because your constant acts of stupidity forced me to momentarily remove you from the group, it doesn’t mean you try and cost the Corre the most important things in the world to them. You are now nothing to me, nothing to the Corre! I know that we have both been drafted to RAW Ezekiel, but if you so much as look at me the wrong way again, I won’t hesitate in disposing of you just like I disposed of you Sunday at Extreme Rules and again on Monday at the draft.

More jeers are aimed at the Englishman, Gabriel still doesn’t seem too happy with Barrett’s address.

Wade Barrett:
So it is now that I make my departure from Smackdown but I know that Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater, the WWE Tag Team Champions, will continue on in my image. The Corre may be no more but I will take the authority, the power and the prestige that the group represented over to Monday nights where I will continue my domination (heat for that stolen line from big ‘Zeke) as your Intercontinental Champion.

Tremendous heat for the Corre as Barrett raises his title belt high over his head, Slater and Gabriel (the South African very apprehensively) soon shadowing that movement. The Englishman starts to leave the ring and motions for his stable mates with the raise of his hand-

Theodore Long: Whoa, Wade! Hold on a minute, playa!

A slight pop for the ‘GM’ as he appears on the titantron, Barrett looking none too pleased to see him.

Theodore Long:
It sure will be a shame to see you go Wade, but it would also be a shame to see you leave the brand you adore so much without having one final farewell match, so to speak.

Barrett begins shaking his head...

Theodore Long:
For the Intercontinental Championship perhaps!

Before that look turns to fury! The crowd turns up the volume with positive noise, Barrett’s fury quickly ebbs however, the Englishman trying to regain his cool as he lifts the microphone to his lips once more.

Wade Barrett:
Hang on, Teddy. I was given to permission by the chairman of the board to give this address, not to compete in a match. Besides I’m now a member of the RAW roster, you have no power over me...

Theodore Long:
I wouldn’t be sure about that Wade, you are on Smackdown at the moment, not RAW, so that means I have total control over you and the title that you are holding in your hands!

A big pop for that!

Theodore Long:
So seeing as you only just escaped with your title on Sunday due to blatant interference on the part of one of your Corre members, Ezekiel Jackson...

Wade Barrett:
I never told him to come out, he isn’t ev-

Theodore Long:
I want to make sure there is no more dirty play tonight so I am banning every member of the Corre from ring side for this match.

Pop.

Theodore Long: I believe one man deserves another shot at the Intercontinental Championship, a man who came so close to capturing the gold at Extreme Rules, that man will also be making his final appearance on Smackdown, he is Kofi Kingston!

SOS... I HEAR DEM SHOUTIN’! SOS... I HEAR DEM CRYIN’!

*S.O.S.*

To the crowd’s delight, and the Corre’s obvious disgust, Kofi Kingston comes bounding through the curtain and onto the stage before he sets off a trifecta of green pyro ‘booms’. Straight off the bat, Kingston sprinted down the ramp, slid into the ring and immediately caused Slater and Gabriel to scatter and allowed the Ghanaian to begin his assault on the Intercontinental Champion with forearm shots, the referee quickly ringing the bell.

Match #3
Intercontinental Championship
Wade Barrett (c) w/Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel vs. Kofi Kingston

Despite both men being a little banged up from their epic encounter at Extreme Rules, they put on a spectacular encounter with Kofi’s high flying offence wowing the crowd while Barrett’s power and tactics certainly proving to be an appropriate wet blanket. Near the midpoint of the contest, Kingston nearly had the match in the bag as he set up for his finishing manoeuvre but the Englishman just ducked and caused the Trouble in Paradise to miss, and the Ghanaian to stumble over the ropes, only just hanging on and remaining on the apron. However, a small break in action allowed Barrett some time to recover and blast Kofi off the apron and into the barricade with a big boot. Domination for the Corre member soon followed with various submission holds, stiff punches and stomps used perfectly by the Intercontinental Champion but nearing the conclusion of the match, Kofi countered the Wasteland into a spiking tornado DDT, momentarily putting both men down for the count.

Kingston manages to get to his feet first, Barrett soon up also, and unloads a series of three vicious double handed chops to the Englishman’s chest, the final of the trio dropping Wade to the mat. The crowd start rallying their support behind the challenger as Kofi starts to pick up the pace, hitting a sharp dropkick to Barrett’s mug before glancing back and running at the ropes. On the rebound, Kofi uses his incredible leaping ability to jump into the high and goes for a flying superman clothesline but Barrett catches the arm and transitions it into a pumphandle clutch, quickly slamming Kingston back first onto the canvas. After making no attempt for a pinfall, Wade instead drops his leg down onto Kingston’s neck – but Kofi rolls to the side, Barrett’s thigh hitting nothing but the mat. Kofi again sprints off the ropes and this time drop both of his feet into a sitting Barrett’s face. The Ghanaian doesn’t slow down, not by a long shot, instead rebounding off the ropes, bouncing his shoulders as he stands over the champion(Boom! Boom!), before jumping into the air and hitting the Boom Drop! Kingston, after playing to the crowd for a few moments, ascends a turnbuckle and remains perched there for only a few moments because Barrett has groggily gotten to a stable base, the Ghanaian launching himself into the air and allowing gravity to take him back down and slam into the Intercontinental Champion with a crossbody. However, the momentum of the diving move allows Wade to roll through and in an incredible show of strength he gets up to his feet with Kingston cradled in his arms, much to the dismay of the crowd. Barrett immediately drops Kofi’s side onto his knee and goes to lift him back up – Kofi slips over Barrett’s head, the challenger too quick for the champion once again. Barrett spins on his heels and swings a wild right hand but it is ducked by Kofi and the Ghanaian rolls his opponent’s arm over his back and plants him with the SOS! SOS hits, Kingston transitioning right into a pinfall...

3.. NO! IT WAS ONLY A TWO COUNT; BARRET’S LEFT SHOULDER JUST SLIDING OUT IN TIME!

Kofi seems a little shocked that Barrett just powered out of one of his most valuable manoeuvres and wanders out towards a corner, resting on it slightly as he watches Barrett on the canvas. This reprieve doesn’t last long as Kingston begins to call for the WWE Universe to clap along with him, a ‘boom’ accompanying each hand slap, an ominous beat meeting Barret’s ears as he starts to wake from his stupor. Kofi has an incensed look in his eyes as Barrett slowly manages to get up and turns to face his adversary, the challenger, Kingston wasting no time in charging at- ONLY TO HAVE HIS LEG YANKED FROM UNDER HIM BY HEATH SLATER?! The official rings the bell the moment he sees Slater cause Kofi’s face to smack off the canvas, but Barrett doesn’t seem to mind as he joins Slater in stomping away at the Ghanaian.

Winner: Kofi Kingston by disqualification (10:24)

Gabriel slides into the ring after his tag team partner but doesn’t attack a downed Kingston like his stable mates; he stands behind them, warily looking around the ring. After assaulting Kofi for a few more moments, the pair of Slater and Barrett picks Kingston up by his dreadlocks and unceremoniously hurls him over the top rope and to the outside, the Ghanaian slamming into the bottom of the announce desk. But, once again Teddy Long appears on the titantron, looking furious.

Theodore Long: Wade! Wade! I told you the Corre was banned from ringside and-

But now, Barrett has once again grabbed a microphone and holds that and the Intercontinental Championship in his hands.

Wade Barrett: And I told you Teddy that I am a RAW superstar and you have zero power over me. You want to take any disciplinary action? Well go and talk to the Anonymous RAW General Manager, come on guys, we are leaving.

Theodore Long:
Hold on, Wade, you aren’t going anywhere just yet. The moment you leave Smackdown tonight, you are right I will have no power over you, but seeing as how you are on Smackdown right now, well I control every inch of your being.

Pop.

Theodore Long: And a big part of your being is the Intercontinental Championship, but ever since you won that title belt you haven’t exactly been a prestigious champion. I cannot remember a match where you defended the championship without the help of your buddies in the Corre. Take tonight for example, I explicitly told you that every Corre member was banned from ringside and yet they still blatantly helped you retain the championship. So, I am sorry to say that I must strip you of that title belt indefinitely!

A giant cheer goes up for that call and Barrett looks incensed, Slater and Gabriel almost fearful.

Wade Barrett: I’d like to see you try!

Theodore Long:
I thought you would say something like that...

*Domination*

While the crowd cheers on at the arrival of Ezekiel Jackson, Wade Barrett screams at Slater and Gabriel to exit the ring and stand guard near the bottom of the ramp while he clutches the Intercontinental Championship to his chest. But after several moments, big ‘Zeke doesn’t appear at all and a giant grin spreads across Barrett’s face, that is until a large hand taps him on the shoulder. Slowly and surely Wade turns around, his smile ebbing away with every passing second, and turns to face Ezekiel Jackson! Jackson goes to work immediately, dropping his former stable mate with a series of clotheslines but his sheer size and the crowd’s reaction makes Slater and Gabriel aware of his presence, the tag team champions sliding into the ring eventually managing to subdue Jackson due to their numbers advantage. The three men furiously stomp away at a downed Jackson in the centre of the ring to a barrage of heat but after several moments Gabriel and Slater are clobbered from behind and hurled from the ring by the Usos!? The WWE Universe gives an appreciative cheer for the Samoan twins as they clear the ring of two thirds of the Corre, but they as well are dropped to the canvas with Jey taken down with a big boot and Jimmy cracked in the nose with a brutal back elbow courtesy of Wade Barrett. Wade scrambles on the canvas in search of his, well not anymore, title belt and after a few moments he finds it and gets to his feet to leave - BUT HE IS DROPPED BY A URANGE, THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL PERFORMED ON WADE BARRETT! Jackson caught Wade on the way out with his devastating finishing manoeuvre, and the man from Guyana snatches the title belt from off the canvas and begins his journey up the ramp, giving the Uso brothers high fives as they join him – seemingly through the curtain towards Theodore Long’s office.

*Commercial*

After returning from an advertisement break, the camera focuses on two rather skinny men, the pair with their backs to the viewers and they appear to be conversing over a crumpled piece of paper. Some yelling in the background can be heard and after a few seconds, Wade Barrett storms past the shot, yelling something indistinct but it is obvious he is very unhappy at the two men attempting to follow him – Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. The tag team champions stop just feet away from the reading pair and look dejected as they stare into the distance, in the direction where Barrett just disappeared. It is then that the skinny men turn around and reveal themselves to be Paul London and Brian Kendrick! The two supposed superheroes grin mischievously as they face Slater and Gabriel, Kendrick shoving the piece of paper they were just reading into his hoodie pocket.

Heath Slater:
And what the hell are you chumps looking at? You never seen a tag team champion before?

Heat for the arrogant redhead’s comments but Londrick watch on, still grinning while Gabriel doesn’t seem like he is in the mood for a confrontation right now.

Heath Slater: Oh that’s right, you are the two supermen, am I right? You came here to save Smackdown, to save the WWE? Well, that’s a damn shame because I’m pretty sure that Smackdown isn’t in need of saving, because me and Gabriel here, we are the top dogs as WWE Tag Team Champions.

Slater seems to be venting his frustration on the two smaller men opposite him, but London doesn’t seem to be fretting.

Paul London: Seriously? You two?

London and Kendrick laugh amongst each other and this seems to be the final straw for Slater, the frustrated ginger attempting to lash out at Paul with his right hand but Gabriel holds him back. Heath tries to break free from his tag team partner’s grip but it is in vain, Londrick slowly walk away as the tag team champions continue to grapple. Once the ‘superheroes’ have disappeared from view, Justin Gabriel releases Slater but the One Man Rock Band swivels around on his ankles and shoves Gabriel to the floor.

Heath Slater:
What the hell are you doing? We are supposed to be a team!

And with that Slater storms off leaving Gabriel looking incredibly ticked off on the concrete floor.

I HEAR VOICES IN MY HEAD, THEY COUNSEL ME, THEY UNDERSTAND, THEY TALK TO ME!

*Voices*

To an epic pop, Randy Orton steps through the curtain and slowly waltzes down the ramp, his cold grey eyes focused upon the ring he is about to enter. After clambering up the steel steps and sliding through the ropes, Orton assesses his surroundings momentarily before he climbs the closest turnbuckle and poses towards the crowd with both of his arms raised in the air, the Viper receiving another huge cheer.

*Bed of Nails*

Tyson Kidd walks onto the stage to a lukewarm reception, his arms outstretched in a cocky stance for the duration of his walk down the ramp. Inside the ring, Randy Orton watches every movement that his soon to be opponent makes but Tyson pays no attention to the multi-time world champion as he leaps onto the apron and floats into the ring, instead preferring to brag towards the WWE Universe. With Kidd’s music dying down, moments before the official rings the bell the two men lock eyes in opposite corners and Tyson mouths something, obviously offensive, but all Orton does is laugh it off.

Match #4
Singles Match
Randy Orton vs. Tyson Kidd

Despite managing to deliver a couple of couple of impressive manoeuvres, including a springboard somersault neckbreaker, on his opponent, Tyson Kidd was taken to school by a very game Randy Orton. After countering Kidd with a dropkick, Orton began to take complete control. Kidd wandered straight into a running clothesline and is caught with another as he gets back up, Orton then grabbing the Canadian in an inverted headlock, looking for his patented backbreaker. But as the Viper tries to drop Kidd down onto his own back, the Calgary Kid uses the momentum of the move to flip right out of it – only to be planted onto the canvas with a scoop slam the moment he lands on his feet! With the crowd fully behind him, Orton starts to listen to the voices in his head, sliding around the mat and pounding the canvas with ill intent, salivating at the opportunity when Tyson will rise up and he can hit him with his famous manoeuvre. Kidd eventually gets to a stable base and Orton leaps out towards him, Kidd only just pushing Orton off his neck and he scores with a spinning heel kick to the gut of Randy as the Viper spins around. Kidd immediately sets about rebounding off the ropes and as he sprints back at Orton he drops his weight and crashes his feet into the side of the Viper’s skull, sending Orton crashing to the mat. The young Canadian doesn’t go for a pin and it looks like he wants to try and end it right then and there as he cuts the air with his arms (‘it’s over!’) and drags Orton up, hooking up an arm and a leg for his devastating swinging cradle suplex. With a final look up at the WWE Universe, Kidd spins to gain speed on the move – BUT ORTON ROLLS OUT, AND HITS AN RKO! Orton hooks the leg and nods his head along with the crowd’s count as the official hits out three.

Winner: Randy Orton by pinfall (5:23)

Another giant pop for Orton as he has his hand raised by the referee and the Viper soaks in the adulation for a few moments before heading towards a corner and posing to the fans from a raised position. No emotion can be detected behind his eyes, but Orton has a slight smile on his face as he jumps down from the second rope and looks around the arena, scanning his surroundings once more.

Smackdown returns backstage, this time in the interview pit where Todd Grisham is standing by with a microphone in hand, looking cheerful.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and gentleman please welcome my guest at this time, he is one of Smackdown’s newest superstars, he is Daniel Bryan.

To a nice reception, Daniel Bryan steps into the shot with a smile on his face and looking ready to compete with maroon and white tights, complete with a tracksuit top.

Todd Grisham: Daniel, what are your thoughts on being drafted to Smackdown as well as your opponent in your debut, the Rated R Superstar Edge?

Daniel Bryan: To be honest, I am very excited to be on Smackdown and I feel like I am going to fit in very well here on Friday nights. I have never been on Smackdown before, I’m a little bit nervous but I am looking forward to putting everything I have got into the middle of that ring, because as many people would know, that is where it counts on the blue brand. I have already been welcomed, very warmly in fact, to the show by Theodore Long and I don’t intend to disappoint him, especially on my first night but I know that isn’t going to be terribly easy. The reason for that is I am going up against a man that has earned a Hall of Fame career and captured every title that he possibly could.

A hell of a lot of heat can be heard from the live crowd but they soon quieten down to allow Daniel Bryan to continue speaking, the man from Aberdeen looking determined and steely eyed.

Daniel Bryan: Edge is a hell of a competitor, don’t get me wrong, but then again so am I. Edge has been on a hell of a tear, he has garnered the focus of the entire WWE Universe for his actions recently but I have made a career of pulling through a victory when everybody in the world was lavishing attention on my opponent. I’ll admit it, I’m not flashy but at the end of the day I get the job done, plain and simple.

Nice cheer from the Orlando crowd for Daniel Bryan.

Daniel Bryan: Edge has been in this business for long, long time – he knows every single trick in the book, hell he even wrote some of them. But the way I see it, tonight the Rated R Superstar only has two options.

Grisham holds his microphone steady in front of Daniel Bryan, the former United States champion certainly looking amped up for his match up next.

Daniel Bryan: Either I kick his head his in or I put him into such an excruciating submission hold that has no choice but to tap.

Pop.

Daniel Bryan: And I don’t think he is going to like either of those options.

A giant pop as Bryan finishes his promo and walks away from Todd, Grisham offering a quick thanks as his guest departs.

*Commercial*

YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!

*Metalingus*

To a ton of heat Edge waltzes out onto the stage with dirty look on his mug as usual, the Rated R Superstar then unloading a plethora of pyro into the sky as he raises the rock horns above his head. With his signature trench coat trailing behind him, Edge slowly journeys towards the squared circle and slides under the bottom rope, taking his time to take in his surroundings while he stays chest down on the canvas.

*The Rage*

Sporting his old theme song, Daniel Bryan springs out from behind the curtain to a respectable reaction from the live crowd. The former United States champion speed walks down the ramp towards the ring with his face set in stone, only slapping the hands of a couple of fans near the ring steps. Before Bryan clambers up the steel stairs, he stops dead just a foot from the ring apron and he locks eyes with Edge and raises a single hand, with his index finger pointed, towards the sky. The crowd cheer for that stare down, Edge only grimacing, and Daniel jumps onto the apron- ONLY TO BE CLOBBERED IN THE BACK – BY JACK SWAGGER?! The shot from Swagger caused Bryan to bounce back of the outside of the ropes and hit the floor hard with a splat, the crowd groaning with the impact. Swagger looks happy with his work so far but he doesn’t stop there, dragging Bryan up by the back of his tights and hurling him shoulder first into the steel steps! The All American American is quick to leave the scene, strolling back up the ramp with a giant grin on his face as he watches Bryan roll around on the floor, nursing his left arm. With a little bit of difficulty, the official tries to stop Bryan from entering the ring but the Aberdeen native convinces him that he wants to partake in the match. Hesitantly, with a backwards glance at Bryan, the referee rings the bell.

Match #5
Singles Match
Edge vs. Daniel Bryan

Bryan and Edge put on an incredible showing for the WWE faithful in Orlando, with both competitors putting in an equal share of nail biting action. The sneak attack from Swagger on Bryan would take its toll on the Aberdeen native’s entire gameplan as a suicide dive, despite being on the mark, would only do further damage to the shoulder and allow the Rated R Superstar to work over it throughout the contest. When Bryan got in an offensive mode, as well as the crowd being fully behind him, the former Nexus member synched in a number of different submission holds. However, the veteran Edge was able to counter his fair share, including manoeuvring a guillotine choke into a sit-down powerbomb with Daniel only just escaping from that pinfall attempt with milliseconds to spare. Nearing the conclusion of the match, Edge had Bryan right where he wanted him, sprawling on the mat in an attempt to get to his feet. With Bryan just up on his feet, Edge charged with his boot out in front of him but Bryan sidesteps the attack and cracked his opponent in the mouth with a European uppercut, spinning him around on his feet. Bryan didn’t hesitate in continuing the assault, quickly wrapping his arms around the waist and suplexing, German style, Edge back first into a corner! The Rated R Superstar writhed in pain on one knee with his lower back leaning against the middle turnbuckle but he was given no reprieve as Bryan took a giant run up, launched himself at his adversary and connected with a running dropkick, Edge smacking into the corner once more. The crowd wait nervously as Bryan rolls over the former world champion and hooks a leg...

2... EDGE POWERS OUT, JUST!

Although both men are beaten down and exhausted, Edge seems to be slightly groggier than his opponent and raises himself to a seated position, Bryan sensing the perfect opportunity to give good on one of his pre-match promises, kick Edge’s head off his shoulders! With a primal scream and lengthy drawback, Bryan swings for the fences in an attempt to strike Edge in the temple but the Rated R Superstar ducks and with Bryan’s back facing him he grabs a hold of Bryan’s shoulders – possibly going for that lethal Edge-O-Matic – but the former United States Champion is too quick, dropping his weight forward and grabbing one of Edge’s arms in his hand; looking for that LeBelle lock! The Rated R Superstar quickly puts on the brakes before he can be dragged towards the mat and with his free hand he lashes out with a couple of shots to the side of his opponent’s head, dazing Bryan momentarily. Edge then, with his arm still in Daniel’s grasp, twisted his position and got his adversary into a DDT clutch, possibly looking for that Edgecution. But the Canadian is too slow and Bryan, with his head trapped under the Rated R Superstar’s armpit, flips Edge over his head and slams him to the canvas with a bridging Northern Lights suplex, the referee sliding unto the mat...

1...

2... NO! THE RATED R SUPERSTARS LIFTS UP A SHOULDER WITH TIME TO SPARE!

Both men scramble to their feet and attempt to gain the vital first advantage and it is Edge who does, lifting up a big leg to strike his opponent in the square of the nose but Bryan dodges out of the attack, sprints back at the ropes, rebounds back off them and launches his whole body at Edge, taking him down with a clothesline. Bryan repeats this process, dropping Edge with another sharp clothesline but as he goes for a third lariat Swagger’s earlier attack would take its toll as Edge came back to life and shouldered Daniel in his sore upper arm. Bryan stumbles back at the ropes, clutching his shoulder with a grimace, and is immediately taken down to the mat with a swift back elbow from the Rated R Superstar. After a hasty stomp to the chest of his opponent, Edge drags Bryan up to his feet by the scruff and slams him face first into the top turnbuckle of a nearby corner. While Bryan remains leaning, exhausted, against the turnbuckle his opponent turns his back and slowly stalks back towards the opposite corner, mouthing off at the crowd and earning more and more heat with each step he takes. The Rated R Superstar lifts the rock horns high above his head as he stares down his opponent before charging at him with determination printed all over his face, dropping his shoulder and driving it into the gu- NO! Bryan lifted himself out of harm’s way and caused Edge to crash into the second turnbuckle! Daniel suspends himself in mid-air over his opponent as watches Edge stumble out from his predicament. As Edge takes a couple more steps backwards Bryan finally drops his body and rolls through, catching Edge with a sunset flip...

2...

3... WAIT, NO! EGDE HAS BEATEN THE COUNT!

But Edge cannot relax for another moment because the second he kicks out of the pinning predicament, Bryan grabs a hold of his left arm and manages to lock in the LeBelle Lock! Bryan has the LeBelle Lock synched in! The crowd squeal with excitement as Edge bars his teeth and flails his free arm wildly in an attempt to reach the ropes. Even after several more moments of holding onto the submission hold, Bryan bellows loudly and only yanks back on his opponent’s neck even harder as he watches Edge begin to fade, his head dropping slightly and his arm wavering just inches above the canvas. After even more time in the hold the official has had to get into close proximity to the Rated R Superstar, causing Bryan to relinquish extreme pressure from the hold, seemingly to check whether he is even able to submit. However, in a swift movement Edge leans to his right and then shifts powerfully to his left and the Canadian uses the momentum to roll over the top of Bryan and gain a slight base on his knees, Bryan still hanging on strong his opponent’s left arm. Edge continues to have his face contorted by Bryan’s powerful grip, but Edge somehow manages to get up to a stable base and charge, with Bryan still attached to his upper body, straight at the nearest corner. The Rated R Superstar ducks under the top turnbuckle but Bryan is too slow, his shoulder crashing dangerously into the top ‘buckle! The impact detaches Edge from the LeBelle Lock and the Rated R Superstar stumbles away on his knees, trying to seek a temporary reprieve from the pain his opponent inflicted upon him just moments earlier. Meanwhile, Bryan yelps out in pain as he tends to his sore shoulder, only keeping himself on his feet by hanging on to the top rope with his free hand but soon turns around and tentatively ventures into the middle of the ring - BUT HE IS SPEARED OUT OF HIS BOOTS! Edge absolutely jarred Bryan into the canvas with that spear and slowly but surely crawls into the cover, hooking the outside leg...

1...

2...

3!!! EDGE HAS DONE IT!

Winner: Edge by pinfall (10:02)

Edge staggers up to his feet and, after ignoring the referee’s assistance, he stalks back up the ramp and stands tall on the top of the stage. The official turns his attention back to Bryan who looks to be in terrible pain as he lies upon the canvas but the crowd’s attention is fully upon the Rated R Superstar. Standing tall on the stage Edge turns his back upon the WWE Universe and throws up the rock horns for the third time of the night, receiving severe heat from the crowd as he slips through the curtain.

*Commercial*

As Smackdown returns from a commercial break, the announce team hype up the battle royal which should feature shortly as well as talk up the great action seen already. Matt Striker begins to comment about how many superstars tonight have staked their claim at a title match but he is interrupted by a dark and dreary entrance song.

WOOOAAAHHH!

*Smoke and Darkness*

To a chorus of heat Cody Rhodes treks down the ramp with his brow furrowed and an almost evil look in his eyes. However, Rhodes looks different than usual. He is still wearing the grotesque plastic mask over his features but there is no hood shadowing his face, he is styling a new jacket cut with red designs and the former tag team champion doesn’t push the cameraman out of his face as he attempt to get some close up footage. Rhodes climbs up the steel steps and slides through the ropes, quickly grabbing a microphone and staring around the jeering crowd.

Cody Rhodes:
Many of you people would have noticed something different about my appearance the moment I stepped out in front of your staring eyes and obnoxious jeers just moments ago. No, I am still forced to wear a mask to hide my hideous visage but I am going to hide it no longer. I have come to accept my hideousness over time and I expect every one you of you to accept it, to embrace it!

Heat for Rhodes as the sickening superstar goes on.

Cody Rhodes: You people, you people cheered that demon on as he destroyed my perfect features so it is only fitting that you have to live with my injury. Just like I have to live with it and just like Rey Mysterio does, just like he will have to for the rest of his life.

More boos and jeers as Rhodes screws up his face at the mere mention of Rey.

Cody Rhodes:
Last Sunday I made an appearance at Extreme Rules after the World Heavyweight Championship ladder match, I made an impact. I dropped Rey Rey on his face just to remind him, and the rest of the WWE Universe, that we aren’t done, not by a long shot. But in hindsight I wish I had done more to Rey because the moment I arrived backstage our esteemed general manager Theodore Long informed me that I couldn’t lay a finger upon that demon unless it was in a sanctioned match. I wish, if only, I had thrown Rey Rey headlong into a steel ladder or cracked him in the side of the skull with a steel chair instead of scouring the punishment for a later date.

A sliver of heat as Cody keeps talking, the deformed Rhodes sounding sicker and sicker by the moment.

Cody Rhodes:
I don’t want anybody else to hurt you Rey, I didn’t even want the ladder you were suspended in on Sunday to harm you.

The announce team are shushed, the crowd quiet down for the moment.

Cody Rhodes: I want the pleasure of hurting you Rey.

Heat.

Cody Rhodes: But don’t, don’t think I am some freak that thrives off causing pain Rey, you brought this upon yourself, and I also want to prove that I belong here in the WWE. I’m not just a name; I can defeat the top stars of this company and without just thrive off the legacy of my famous father for the duration of my tenure here in the WWE. You almost destroyed my road before I could even walk down it, but you didn’t finish the job Rey.

More boos and jeers as Cody starts pacing from one side of the ring to other, over and over again.

Cody Rhodes: Every single second that I cannot hurt you Rey is like torture to me. My mind and body aches for me to attack you on every opportunity that I get backstage, every time you wander aimlessly down to the ring but I won’t allow you, the evil that you are, to cost me my job as well as my looks.

More heat.

Cody Rhodes: I want redemption Rey, I need redemption. And believe me when I say it, I will get it and I will get it soon.

And with that, too large boos, Cody launches his microphone to the canvas and removes his jacket, seemingly preparing for action. We soon get an explanation for these actions as Josh Matthews informs the viewers that tonight’s main event; a twenty man battle royal is up next.

*Commercial*

As we return to Smackdown, twenty men are stationed in differing positions in the squared circle, each competitor looking around at the other with caution imprinted on their faces. After several tense moments the bell is promptly rung and the twenty men in the ring rush into a single blur, attempting to throw as many of their opponents over the top rope as possible.

Match #6
Twenty Man Battle Royal
Big Show vs. Chris Masters vs. Christian vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Curt Hawkins vs. Daniel Bryan vs. DH Smith vs. Edge vs. Evan Bourne vs. Heath Slater vs. Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso vs. JTG vs. Justin Gabriel vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Santino Marella vs. Sheamus vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Vladimir Kozlov

The battle royal that closed this edition of Smackdown certainly was an exciting one with a lot of rivalries heating up between the over the top rope action. Early on in the contest, Rey Mysterio and Cody Rhodes hurtled over the top rope together and the two could only stand and stare at one another until officials ordered them to the back, the deformed Rhodes almost frothing at the mouth due to his inability to harm his adversary. Curt Hawkins put on an impressive showing, eliminating a number of superstars before being launched over the top rope by a rampaging Randy Orton, as did Chris Masters who dumped the massive Big Show to the floor to a giant reaction from the crowd. The Los Angeles native was put to a stop by Edge, the Rated R Superstar also taking advantage of Daniel Bryan’s lingering shoulder injury for the second time of the night to dispose of the man from Aberdeen, Washington. Nearing the conclusion of the match only four men remained: Edge, Christian, Randy Orton and Sheamus.

After a few minutes of intense battle, Christian managed to dump Edge over the top rope in the midst of a multi man confrontation and the crowd popped for Edge’s livid expression as he looked up towards his long time adversary. After dropping Sheamus with a vicious RKO, Randy Orton struggled with Christian for position but the two soon teamed up as the pair avoided a Brogue Kick from the rogue Irishman and clotheslined the big man over the ropes together. Captain Charisma and the Viper battled furiously for many moments more with inverted backbreakers, missile dropkicks and a variety of DDTs shared among the two. However, due to a slight distraction from the returning Edge, Orton prevailed and hurled Christian from the ring with impressive strength to win the match and earn the number one contenders spot.

Winner: Randy Orton by elimination (15:12)

To another epic round of cheers and applause, Randy Orton stands victorious in the centre of the ring as he has his hand raised by the official. With his theme song blaring around the arena, the Viper ascends the nearest corner to him and soaks in all the praise from his loving fan base, but an unwelcome guest receives soon Orton’s full attention. To heart jeers Alberto Del Rio walks slowly down the ramp with his eyes locked on Randy, the Mexican raises the championship belt from his shoulder and into the air, a smarmy grin on his face meeting the intense, cold, grey eyes of the Viper.

Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship

Here's your review Peep.

- We start off with the champ Del Rio, who rightfully won that ladder match at the ppv. It was a good promo, but one thing I suggest that if you're going to to put the crowd reactions as a direction, I suggest you don't just say heat. I know that it does get the point across, but there's no such thing as too much description.

- Up next, we have (by the way, I did read the rest of the promo, and there's really nothing to comment on; it was very solid!) Tyson Kidd trying to re-unite with Smith? Well, whatever it is, Smith had none of it, and I would love to see a nice mid-card feud between these two, the WWE really never went through with them. Anyways, Sheamus is now facing Chris Masters, and I see a win for Sheamus coming, but a win for Masters would really give him that lift here. Sheamus wins in a very well written summary match, and I really like the winner in spoilers here. It's really a better way to announce the winner in my opinion.

- Santino vs. Hawkins. Curt seems like a major player here, eh? Well, Curt gets the win in a squash match, and Santino and big Vlad are put down even more. Nothing to point out here, besides the fact that I really like what you're doing with Curt.

- Curt cuts a short promo. Again, put more description in your fan reactions, and maybe some reactions from the wrestlers in the ring wouldn't hurt wither.

- Wade cuts a spectacular promo here; I really liked this! Teddy comes out, and puts Wade's title up on the line. Don't really know what's going to happen here, as Wade is heading off to Raw. Wade wins by DQ, and here comes the twist. Wade is great on the mic, and I hope you and Theo keep pushing this guy, as I would love to see him wear some world title gold in this fed. Anyways, here comes Zeke, and I was about to say that turning Zeke face is like what the WWE did, and then I see the Usos! Great move man, I don't think that anyone has payed too much attention to them, and I like were this program will be going. Good work on using them in this.

- I like Londrick coming back. I marked for them hard during there title run back in 06/07, and I really like the two. I really hope that you use them well, also, unlike the WWE your tag division is looking very strong right now.

- Orton vs. Tyson Kidd, I expect for Orton to win without much effort, which of course, he does. Orton is obviously going to shoot right up in the main event here, and he restarts his Smackdown career with a win here. Good; descriptive match right there.

- Bryan cuts his normal super face promo. I really hope you come up with something original for him; I would love to see him in a different (still face) but different gimmick.

- Edge vs. Bryan is a good match. Edge is portraying a very heel character which I like, but one thing with this match, is that it doesn't tell me were Bryan is going to go on from here. Putting Bryan in a match with Edge with his debut isn't the match I would book. Like Sheamus and Orton, I would put him against a non main event talent, but besides that, this was a great match.

- Cody Rhodes cuts a great promo. Since I started reading your fed, I've always liked your Rhodes character. The real question is, will Rey respond? Looking forward to finding out the answer.

- I feel like you could have wrote a bit more for the battle royal. Maybe another paragraph or 2 wouldn't have hurt, but Orton comes out winning, and will face ADR at Over The Limit, which I really hope ADR wins. I've seen too many Orton title changes lately (;)). Looking forward to that build though, because it is something new.

Overall Grade: B: Good show, great promos; good matches. The build towards Over The Limit is looking good for just one week done, and my favorite part of your show is the strength on the tag team division. The tag title becoming Smackdown exclusive was a really bright idea by you and Theo, and I feel like that it's going to play out really well. The one thing I would really like to see is more description in your direction in your promos. Just more than just writing heat for a crowd reaction. Besides that good work, and I'll keep reading.

Hi Peep, thought I'd give your show a review :)

First off due to the "real" episode of SD! this show covers being fresh in my mind it was good to see your interpretation on events. Just so you know, I love werstling and watch every wrestling show I can get my hands on. Here in Australia every WWE show even NXT and Superstars are on our cable nextwork, so I watch all of it, most of it in fast forward but I do watch it, even though I'm not really inot the product. WWE to me is quite bland and there are only a few guys on their roster that I enjoy.

So onto your show.

The difference between me and the alot of the writetrs on here is the amount of detail. I personally don't want to go into too much because it burns the reader out, and I have to say, I had to stop mys elf from skimming. I like your use of black and blue, other feds in BT have red and all sorts of colours and gives me a headache and I refuse to read it.

Del Rio is the Smackdown Champion.. I think he suits the blue brand and its good to see that he is champ instead of that loser Christian. Sorry IWC but I don't see why anyone likes that red headed stepchild. The segment started getting a bit over booked though with people "throwing their hats" in for a title shot.. I didn't like that aspect, and I liked Teddy Long even less... battle royale.. seems to be overused on Smackdown.

So you fed Masters to Sheamus... I agree Sheamus is probably the better man, but Masters needs a push, he is/was awesome. Would have liked to see him get a push. I hope being competitive with Sheamus is the start of something big for the masterpiece.

Santino/Hawkins... not really interested to be honest. I skimmed it but still felt like filler on a show wheer only 4-5 matches, I don't know if you can afford filler, sorry if it was you pushing Hawkins but I find him generic heel #6

Kofi wins by DQ... Barrett should have destroyed him! Barrett last eyar was on the same level as Cena and Orton, it would have been great for you to kept his booking strong instead of the de-push he got from the real "E"..

Super Orton vs. Kidd.. no prize for who wins this...

Edge vs. Bryan... the only thing I ever liked about Edge, was that he was always willing to (unlike HHH, Cena etc.) was he didn't mind getting pinned and putting someone over. His mic work and prescence made up for it that it didn' hurt him when he took a loss. Bryan could have got the roll up or something and then Edge could have beaten him down post match... You've had no surpises on your show tonight and that woudl have been a great one. Missed opportunity.

the 20 guys in your battle royale shows to me how limited the WWE rosters are at the moment.. Orton wins, yep no real surprise there and the new champion Del Rio faces off against the biggest hero straight away into his title reign.

Basically its a business as usual show tahtt he WWE would have put out. The usual suspects won, no surprises and it was all by the book. Decent show but pretty bland. as this is fiction I was hoping for more, something fun or exciting that makes you go wow, what a great segment. I guess it's tough when you are comiing off a ppv with a newly crowned champion but a battle royale is always an opportunity to not give a ttile opportunity to the same guys, you could have pulled a Daniel Bryan, Evan Bourne, Chris Masters or Justin gabriel out and instantly putting them int he title picture is almost an instant push.. Orton was just ..safe...

Any way a good solid show but nothing exciting...

GCB's SMACKDOWN REVIEW:

Thanks for your continued support of my show, Peep, here is a return review. I'd forgotten you'd posted this tbh, must have looked at it on my phone rather than the computer. Alberto Del Rio opens the show as he must, good promo for ADR but a couple of odd word choices for him - domain, plaguing, presence - and I think a little bit of 'Spanglish' would have made it sound even better. Sheamus' interruption was strange for the first one but he sort of sided with ADR even though he was after the WHC. Orton coming out shows that he is in the title hunt and the first believable contender as a babyface. Edge next, 3 heels and 1 babyface? I think this made the Battle Royale that Teddy announced a little predictable. I expect a continuation of Edge and Christian at OTL so it was down to Sheamus or Orton - clearly going to be Orton!

Interesting little sub-plot with the Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith thing. Am interested to see where that goes. With Tag Teams on SMACKDOWN now, a reforming Hart Dynasty makes sense but you could use this tension between DHS and Kidd to form two new teams instead?

Sheamus looks strong beating Chris Masters but Masters is strong too. I like the slow build of Masters, he needs to get involved in the IC/US Title hunt for me now. That is the logical next step for the Masterpiece as there are few mid card heels left for him with the focus coming on the Tag division. Alternatively, you could have a feud with Sheamus spinning out of this match?

Christian is battered and bruised, hyping up his injuries and the continuation of his feud with Edge. Good. Undertaker returning next week, what will the announcement be? No idea!

Curt Hawkins is rising quickly and he looks bad-ass as he does. Cool promo after he beat Santino, interesting comments after the match. What is his lifetime goal? To get rid of what? I guess I'd better keep reading SMACKDOWN to find out!!! LOL at ADR calling Grisham Trent and Tim ... Made me chuckle. Standard stuff from ADR, pompous to the last. Wade Barrett farewell promo, the Gabriel teases are confusing me. They seem so strong but he doesn't interject in the WB speech? I would like to see them done a little more subtly. What happens now that Barrett has left SMACKDOWN? Will Gabriel get chance to turn on him?

Good match with Kofi for Wade, keeps IC Title via DQ. You got Wade down right with the attitude, he will need that to stand out on RAW for Theo. Stripped of the IC Title - is that a way to keep it on SMACKDOWN with Sin Cara holding the US Title on RAW? You've built a feud for Theo with the Ezekiel Jackson thing, hope he is going to return the favour!!!

Gabriel stops Slater attacking Londrick; don't get the attitude of Slater.

Easy win for Orton over Tyson. Bit of a squash. Tells me even more than Orton will win the Battle Royale! Would have liked to see something more between Kidd and DHS at this point - maybe a backstage segment, just a look between them ... Nice promo for DB but he isn't going to beat Edge here ... Nope! Hard fought win for Edge, I'm interested to see what you do with Daniel Bryan now. There isn't an obvious feud for him in the short term. Unless you go with Hawkins, that could be cool.

Loved the Cody Rhodes promo, fabulous. One complaint is that after his beating from Cody at Extreme Rules, maybe Rey could have been absent tonight? Cody needs this feud with Mysterio big time and HE MUST GO OVER! This is your chance to push Cody above Rey in the pecking order and he must win! No 'superhero' Mysterio, Cody wins and pushes on to Orton in the coming months whether that is for the WHC or not!

Battle Royale - Orton wins, was obvious. I would have liked to have seen more detail in this match. I am a big fan of full main event matches - or nearly full - to set them apart from the recaps in the rest of the show which, IMO, are understandable. With the Royal Rumble ages away, it would have been nice to see Peep show his ability to write such a match as well. So it will be Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio at Over the Limit. OK, I can go with that, Del Rio needs to be built up more for that. I'd like to see Del Rio win again. He's beaten Rey, I'd like to see him win again against another big name in Orton. If Orton is to be WHC, make him work for it.

Good show mate, I understand the 'bland' comments of the others but I think you had JUST ENOUGH to make it interesting above that.

Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship

Jam's Review

First of all, nice graphics, wonder who made them? Lol. Well kidding aside, this'll be my first review in a while. And I'll try to change that as I'll go and review more shows.

Alberto Del Rio starts off the show, which he should. The promo was really good, but there were just some words that I don't think Del Rio would've said, like GCB said earlier. But nonetheless, it was good. I was wondering how you'd get a number 1 contender for the WHC and I guess I got the answer with a battle royal, not a bad idea Peep.

You had the new superstars, and the most logical choices come out to state their case to Del Rio's title. And from what I saw, I was hoping you'd go with Sheamus, but looks like he's still a heel and so I thought, Orton is taking this one.

I like you putting Edge, Sheamus, and Orton in matches as it emphasizes your biggest stars. And we always want to showcase our best right? Edge vs. Daniel Bryan was pretty interesting to read. I was thinking that maybe Bryan could pull out a win, but he didn't which is the right move.

Masters, Kidd, and Bryan as opponents for your top three was great. Orton vs. Kidd, I would really want to see this irl. Kidd is a really good in-ring competitor and with Orton as an opponent, it gives him that much exposure.

Hawkins getting a push? I like it. I've been warming up to Hawkins ever since I started watching some past WWE Superstars shows, I've been impressed with the kid. And oh man, Santino jobs? Would be fun if someone would book Santino to be a serious contender, rep for whoever does that. Lol.

Barrett vs Kingston, good match. I was hoping that Kofi would lose so good choice. With the IC title being vacated, it'll be very interesting as to how you'd put the strap on someone. Hmm, maybe Cody Rhodes? I really hope Cody gets into the ME scene soon Peep.

Battle royal time and the final four are Edge, Christian, Randy Orton and Sheamus. Predictable, but was the right choice. Final two get cut down to Christian and Randy. And man oh man, I was thinking what would happen if Christian got the shot because his feud with Edge is currently my favorite but when I read that Orton hurled him over, it was the right choice Peep. Orton vs. Del Rio at OTL, good choice.

Overall, good show Peep. Showing all your new pieces while getting the title picture sorted out. Also, with all the star power being balanced between Smackdown and Raw, you and Theo's thread just got more interesting and I'll be following and reviewing ofcourse. :)

Bearded Review

-Don't worry Peepers, I didn't forgot. I've been swamped and haven't gotten the chance to give the show a thorough read. Shall we get started?

-Nice opening promo between ADR, Edge, Sheamus, and Orton. Each guy looked strong on the mic and sounded realistic. Now we get to see just who will be stepping up to the plate and ADR gets a better challenger than Mysterio for his second championship defense.

-Interesting segment with Kidd and Smith. I figured they'd be thrown back together with the announcers claiming it was a mutual agreement. I like where this is going. Like GCB said we could see two new teams come of this or teh Hart Dynasty reforming.

-Nice match with Sheamus and Masters. Both guys looked strong here and I too can't wait to see Masters get involved with the midcard championship soon. You've built him nicely and now it is time to capitalize on it.

-Undertaker returning next week? Hot diggity. Seems a bit premature as I'd imagine a typical Taker return at a PPV, but he has an announcement to make and I look forward to seeing that.

-Hawkins/Marella was your typical match filler match. Hawkins has been one of my favorites of yours and I just love that you are giving him time to shine. I look forward to seeing what he does next week.

-Another typical ADR promo. Nothing really to say.

-Interesting here with Barrett. Why would Teddy try to get the belt back by using another Raw star in Kingston? Sure the two have a past history, but this could have been a nice way to elevate Masters.

-Tension with Slabriel and Londrick looks to be the future contenders for the titles. Interesting.

-Kidd still can't buy any luck, but then again its Randy Orton. Pretty obvious what's going down there.

-Great match between Edge and DB. I'd love to see a feud once Edge is done with everything involving Christian (I don't think its over yet). Can't wait to see what DB does for ya.

-Excellent Rhodes promo, definitely my favorite star on your show. Glad you are continuing him and Mysterio as it felt unfinished. Can't wait to see you elevate Rhodes to bigger heights.

-Orton winning this was obvious. Looking forward to him and ADR. I had a program lined up for the two in a different BT here (one of the joint promotions) and it was something I looked forward to doing. The match I wrote for my show that was short, but still everything flowed. Hopefully you can find that success for them.

-Solid show as always. Your new Raw guys looked strong (even DB in a losing effort) and overall you are setting up for some nice things and differentiating yourself from the real WWE. Good stuff hombre.

You're next on my review list Peep. If it's cool with you, I'm gonna review the recent episode of SmackDown.

Let's Go!

- Great Video to open up show to recap the main events at Extreme Rules, at least for the SmackDown portion of things, but in any event, good way to start the show off.

- Del Rio makes his way out here honking his horn obnoxiously as usual. Del cut a really good promo here. A kind of promo an arrogant champion should run. I liked the Sheamus promo as well. For his first night on SmackDown, he made his feelings known about just what he was gonna do. Randy Orton coming out now too? I like these kinds of promos where people make their claim for a shot at the World Title. Now, Edge is out here too. I think I know where this is going. Good promo by these four men. Can't wait for the Battle Royal. It should be interesting to see how their single matches will go as well.

- Kidd begging and pleading to be a Tag Team again? A desperate plea, or a hoax? Guess we'll see where this story goes.

- Solid opening match. Good choice having Sheamus in here first. And you didn't make it a total squash as both men were a bit even in strength and power. Good win.

- Hawkins picks up another win here on Santino and proclaims that he'll be a Champion. I sense Kozlov is gonna want some revenge on Hawkins. I'm a little iffy on Hawkins getting a little push. I guess I gotta see a little more from him.

- Interesting promo by Barrett. Never heard of a heel cutting a farewell address before. I understand The Corre interference on Kofi to keep the belt on Barrett. But an interesting having Ezekial Jackson and The Usos (:wtf:) subduing The Corre and having the belt physically stripped from Barrett. Wow, trouble in paradise for The Corre and the tag team scene is looking up on SmackDown: Gabriel & Slater, The Usos, & Londrick! Nice. Let's see where this goes.

- Straight squash for Orton. Nothing more here.

- Aggressive promo by Bryan here. Nice way to have him debut. Great match between him and Edge I might add. Best match of the night and you wrote it really well. I'd like to see them have one more match maybe? But with Swagger's attack on Bryan, looks like those two are gonna feud next.

- Wow! Great Cody Rhodes promo. You made him seem so psychologically unhinged. I loved it. He sounds he wants to kill Mysterio. Can't wait to see what you have planned for him later on in the Book This!

- Nice little Battle Royal at the end. It's always good to incorporate a little Madness and Chaos at the end of the show. Orton winning was no surprise here, but I like how you hinted at the continuation of the Edge/Christian Feud. Now, let's see how you book the Orton/Del Rio feud.

B: Overall, it was a solid show. It had its highs and lows. I really did like the Cody Rhodes promo. Wish he coulda said just a little bit more though. You hinted a lot of potential feud which I like. The matches were solid especially Edge vs Bryan. Great fallout show to Extreme Rules. Looking forward to what you have planned for Over the Limit. Hope it doesn't disappoint!

Friday Night Smackdown! Preview
Nashville, Tennessee, 13th May 2011

The most action packed show on Friday night arrives in Nashville, Tennessee and with only three weeks until Over the Limit, things are looking to heat up on the blue brand. Last week, the Viper Randy Orton overcame the entire Smackdown roster in an exhilarating battle royal to earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and more specifically, Alberto Del Rio. Despite some very obvious tension between the new challenger and the champion, Randy Orton told WWE.com earlier this week that he is very excited to be a part of Smackdown and looks forward to tangling with the 'always impressive' Del Rio. However, this Friday the Mexican Aristocrat faces another big challenge, literally - a match with the Big Show. After a rather disappointing performance by the giant in the battle royal where he was dumped over the top rope by Chris Masters, it could be now or never for Show to get right back into the title hunt.

Another man who would be disappointed with his performance in last weeks battle royal is Christian. Although he made it to the final two and took out a range of superstars along the way, a vital distraction from his nemesis Edge caused him to be eliminated and see his dream of competing for the World Heavyweight Championship vanish before his eyes once again. Many in the WWE locker room have confirmed that Christian has been in a foul mood all week long; has Edge finally pushed his former tag team partner to a place he doesn't want him to be? Both men will be in the building in Nashville on Friday Night, will Christian's new attitude finally put an end to the Rated R Superstar? What will both men have to say?

After almost two months after Wrestlemania, the Undertaker will make his first appearance since his epic encounter with Triple H. The last time the Deadman was seen, he was being carried out of the arena on a stretcher with the assistance of multiple medical staff. Will the Phenom's announcement have something to do with the multiple injuries he sustained at Wrestlemania? Two men who will also be making their long awaited return to a WWE ring this week is the team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick. The alleged superheroes of Smackdown have vowed to clean up the entire brand and remove any traces of greed, arrogance and evil that they may find. On Smackdown they will go into battle against the current WWE Tag Team Champions, Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel, but with the former Corre members far from being on the same page, will they be easy pickings for Smackdown's newest team?

In other news, the vacant Intercontinental Championship will be one step further towards having a new holder as the Intercontinental Championship Tournament begins this week on Smackdown. Theodore Long's creation will start in full force as the opening two matches of the bracket will be contested in Nashville. Although Jack Swagger was initially pegged by the Smackdown General Manager to not be a part of the tournament, Long was then informed by the WWE Board of Directors that the All American American will compete for the blue plated title belt. Long was informed by the higher-ups that his petty feud with Swagger was 'immature' and that a man with the talent that Jack possesses deserves to wrestle in this exciting project. Will Swagger live up to the hype given to him by the WWE brass? And why did he viciously assault Daniel Bryan of all people last week?

Confirmed for Smackdown!

An announcement from The Undertaker.

Christian and Edge to speak in the middle of the ring.

The opening two matches of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

Friday Night Smackdown!
Nashville, Tennessee, 13th May 2011

'Who Will Gain the Edge?'

The usual introductory video package is played to start off the broadcast and, with Green Day booming in the background the camera cuts across to the arena. A gigantic burst of pyrotechnics flies across the stage and the camera zooms above the rowdy crowd in attendance for tonight’s show before settling on the announce team. Josh Matthews, Matt Striker and Booker T look happy as ever to be calling Smackdown, and the trio wear broad grins as Matthews starts us off.

Josh Matthews: Hello ladies and gentleman and welcome to another edition of the great entertainment spectacular that is Friday Night Smackdown. We have an incredible night of action just waiting to get started but before we get to the superstars of the blue brand, let me introduce the two men who are joining me tonight; everybody’s favourite announcer Matt Striker and the former six time world champion, Booker T.

Matt Striker: The pleasure is all mine Josh because tonight’s show is looking like it’s going to be a doozy. Last week Randy Orton overcame a plethora of Smackdown’s best talent to earn a shot at Alberto Del Rio’s World Heavyweight Championship in three weeks time at Over the Limit, but the current champion has to overcome an incredible challenge of his own later tonight when he goes into battle with the gigantic Big Show.

Booker T: Not only that Matt, ‘da legendary Undertaker is scheduled to appear in the ring tonight to give an important announcement to ‘da WWE Universe.

Matt Striker: Rumours have been swirling all week as to the subject of the Undertaker’s announcement but remember folks, the last time we saw the Phenom was when he was being carried to the locker room with the help of medical professionals, it may not be a positive announcement for the Deadman’s future here in the WWE.

Josh Matthews: In other news, with Wade Barrett stripped of the Intercontinental Championship last Friday, the Board of Directors has deemed that the prestigious championship will stay on Smackdown. General manager Theodore Long already informed WWE.com that he has organised a tournament to crown a new champion and we will see the first round of the tournament begin right here tonight.

Booker T: With all this and much, much more, what are we waiting for guys? Ha ha!

GO!

*Just Close Your Eyes*

To a gigantic pop, Christian steps out onto the stage with a slight smirk on his face and quickly scans the packed arena for his beloved fans. Captain Charisma waltzes down the ramp dressed in wrestling tights and a personalized singlet and slowly enters the ring, the Canadian soaks in the adulation of the WWE Universe as he grabs a microphone.

Christian: Nashville, if you will let me I am going to set your mind back a bit into the past; nine days into the past to be exact.

The slim grin on Christian’s face is gone, a more determined look taking its place.

Christian: Extreme Rules. I pulled through all the psychological games, the steel chairs, Singapore canes and just plain brutality to finally beat my former best friend and pin his shoulders to the mat for a three count. But again, that wasn’t enough for Edge. I beat him in the middle of the ring nine nights ago; and even when my body was begging for me to quit after every brutal shot or slam onto the canvas, I didn’t give in. But Edge couldn’t take that.

A slimmer of heat for the mere mention of Edge’s name but Christian doesn’t take any notice and continues with his brow creased.

Christian: I did the unthinkable at Extreme Rules by beating the great, the illustrious and the future Hall of Famer Edge in front of the entire WWE Universe, in front of all of my Peeps and proved that I was the better man on that night.

A huge round of cheers and applause for Christian, Captain Charisma nods swiftly and goes on, almost grimly.

Christian: However, Edge could not and will not accept that I beat him. Hell, he beat the living crap out of me with a steel chair after our match just to confirm in his own sick, twisted mind that he was still better than me, still the infamous Rated R Superstar. He may act as if he is above me and that I am well below him, that I am not even worth thinking about anymore, but I know for a fact that this is untrue.

Captain Charisma is not his usual happy self tonight; his face is screwed up with a mixture of rage and disappointment.

Christian: You attacked me from behind at Extreme Rules, you cost me a chance at winning the championship that I have been chasing for my entire career and I know I am on your mind every minute of every day because you can’t stand that I beat you fair and square.

A huge pop for the ever popular Canadian but Christian still does not showing any of his usual spark.

Christian: So how abo-

YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME!

*Metalingus*

There is a murderous amount of heat for Edge as he interrupts his former tag team partner and waltzes onto the stage with a microphone in hand. The Rated R Superstar’s scraggly blonde hair surrounds his face and accompanies jeans and a rustic t-shirt as Edge has a look upon his face as if he just got slapped across the cheek.

Edge: Let me stop you right there Christian.

The Rated R Superstar walks down the ramp with his eyes set on Christian, jeers and boos accompanying him the whole way down.

Edge: You didn’t beat anybody at Extreme Rules, I beat myself. And just like the leeching little vermin you’ve always been, you snuck in and stole the victory...

Edge takes the microphone away from his mouth and takes his time stepping through the ropes and into the ring.

Edge: From ME!

More heat for Edge as he grimaces at Christian and now the two rivals are standing just feet apart in the centre of the squared circle.

Edge: The most prominent and the most important member of this brand. I’m the one that people tune in to see every week on a Friday night, not you. I’m the one who is responsible for bringing in exciting, new superstars like I did last week, not you. And I’m the one who should still be the World Heavyweight Champion, not you. I don’t rely on luck; I just am the better man Christian.

Plenty of boos and jeers for Edge as he smugly looks across at Christian, the popular Canadian seemingly mulling something over as he glances towards the crowd before he raises a microphone to his lips.

Christian: Do you really think you are the better man Edge?

The Rated R Superstar; smug as ever.

Edge: No.

Christian raises an eyebrow as he assesses his former best friend.

Edge: I know I am the better man and I know I will always be the better man.

A slight pause as both men stare down the other.

Christian: So Extreme Ru-

Edge: That was a fluke, nothing more than that!

Christian: Then how about you put your money where your mouth is. Three weeks, Seattle, Washington, Over the Limit. You and me, no chairs, no canes, just a straight up wrestling match, either one of us is pinned or one of us is made to submit. How about that?

Christian thrusts out his right hand in the direction of Edge with determination printed across his face. After a slight pause, in which the crowd roasts him, the Rated R Superstar grasps Christian’s palm in his own in a bone crunching hand shake.

Edge: You’re on!

Edge releases his grip and turns to leave through the ropes but Captain Charisma hangs on and pulls his former tag team partner back to face him.

Christian: Just remember Edge that I haven’t forgotten all the cheap shots, all the insults. I’m not only going to beat you once again, fair and square, at Over the Limit, I am going to beat you down so badly that you will never forget the day May 29th and you will never forget who I am.

Despite looking slightly taken aback at Christian’s sudden fierceness Edge returns to his usual smarmy self as an evil grin cracks across his mug and he pulls his hand out of Captain Charisma’s grip.

Edge: It’s amazing what the slightest taste of success can do to someone with... uh... how can I put this... more ambition than talent. One lucky victory over one of the best does not make you one of the best Christian. Capturing the World Heavyweight Championship puts you in an elite group that very few men ever join and let’s see... tag team check, European check, ECW check, Intercontinental check but oh, no World Heavyweight Championship for (as sarcastic as ever) Captain Charisma.

The crowd boo heartily as Edge seems to have regained his confidence back while Christian looks at his former partner with hate in his eyes.

Edge: So I think that means that you aren’t one of the elite Christian, but I am. You whine and complain about supposed cheap shots and insults and that’s probably the reason that you have never and will never be a true champion such as myself. I don’t need to do those things to be the best; I just do them because I can.

Christian: I know for a fact that you don’t do those things just because you can. You do them because your back is against the wall and that is the only way you can gain the advantage over a man who deep down, even through your extravagant entrances, your pyrotechnics and your confident demeanour, you know has your number.

The crowd pops loudly as Edge crinkles his features at his rival’s words.

Edge: Greater, stronger men than you have fallen to me Christian and I promise that I won’t let a pathetic little creep like you steal another win from the most important entity of Friday Night Smackdown.

The Nashville faithful jeer Edge’s words but Christian fires back straight away with his eyes set.

Christian: Insult me all you like, it’s only going to prove my point further, it’s only going to motivate me even more. You see Edge in our match at Extreme Rules, after every punch or chair shot to my already battered body you gave me I just remembered everything you had ever done or said to me over the years and I used that to keep me running, to push myself to victory. And no, I’m not doing it for them this time (Christian motions to the crowd, now quiet) I’m doing it to prove I am the better man once and for all.

Christian drops his microphone and saunters past his future pay-per-view opponent towards the ramp to a loud cheer but stops with his foot on the rope as Edge mutters something indistinct on the microphone. Captain Charisma, already riled up, turns around and charges at his rival, ducking a wild punch and hooking his opponent’s arms - dropping Edge with a Killswitch as quick as a flash! The crowd explodes with a positive reaction for Christian as he finally makes his exit, walking up the ramp with his face set. Over on commentary Matt Striker argues that Edge had his back turned and had no way of combating the attack, the former teacher then calling Christian a hypocrite for his actions. A final shot of Edge recovering on the canvas is shown before Smackdown cuts to its first commercial break of the night.

*Attitude*

To a very lukewarm reception David Hart Smith steps out from behind the curtain and quickly jogs down the ramp, the Canadian outfitted in a lime green pair of tights. In the background Tony Chimel announces that the following match is an opening round contest in the Intercontinental Championship tournament with the crowd popping loudly for that. After a couple of failed attempts to get the WWE Universe behind him with a few arm raises and fist pumps Smith steps through the ropes and instead focuses on the titantron, waiting for his opponent as he does a couple of last minute stretches.

BOOYAKA, BOOYAKA...

*Booyaka 619*

Rey Mysterio bounds out onto the ramp to a massive ovation from the WWE Universe and, after setting off a pair of pyrotechnic rounds, the former world champion walks towards the ring, giving plenty of high fives along the way. After depositing a mask to an eager young fan in the front row, Mysterio flies into the ring in a matter of moments and poses for just a few more seconds on a top turnbuckle before removing his t-shirt and standing opposite his opponent.

Match #1
Intercontinental Championship Tournament Match (Opening Round)
David Hart Smith vs. Rey Mysterio

Despite not giving much of a reaction of any kind towards David Hart Smith during his entrance, the WWE Universe warmed up to the match as a whole as they experienced an exciting back and forth encounter. After overcoming a range of high flying offence from the former world champion, Smith used his impressive power to take control of the contest but soon began, to the surprise of the WWE Universe in attendance to slowly dominate Rey Mysterio. However, despite several high impact moves the Canadian was unable to put the luchador away, much to the big man’s obvious frustration. Through the tremendous beating that he took throughout the match, Mysterio showed his usual resilience and even managed to kick out of a brutal running powerslam that was certainly reminiscent of his opponent’s late father. That moment proved to be an important turning point in the contest as Smith’s frustrations boiled over and the luchador’s veteran instincts took over which allowed Mysterio to get back into the match and, after several key counters, he was able to connect with the famed 619. One frogsplash later and Mysterio had his hand raised in victory after an exhilarating and exciting contest that sends him one step further in the Intercontinental Championship tournament.

Winner: Rey Mysterio by pinfall (10:02)

After the final bell toll rings Mysterio struggles to his feet with the assistance of the match official; the luchador covered in sweat and obviously in pain. Over on the other side of the ring David Hart Smith also gains a steady base after punching the canvas in annoyance and begins to make his exit through the ropes and out onto the ramp, muttering under his breath and clearly still frustrated that he let a victory slip through his fingers. Mysterio is still celebrating in the ring and as the former world champion climbs a turnbuckle he motions towards Smith with a raised hand and a small round of applause. Smith, now on the stage, simply ignores the remark and stalks back behind the curtain with frustration etched across his features. As the camera focuses once more on the celebrating Mysterio, another shot shows that Cody Rhodes is watching the unfolding events of Smackdown backstage in a dim locker room on a tiny television – his face, in full view of the camera, curls into a psychotic grin through the plastic guard.

After that action in the ring the camera is now focused solely upon Todd Grisham standing tall in the middle of the interview pit, dressed smartly in a suit and carrying a microphone in his hand.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and gentleman please welcome my guest at this time; he is the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, the Viper Randy Orton.

An epic pop rings out in the background of the pit as Randy Orton waltzes into the shot, his hard, grey eyes focused on Grisham and a slight grin on his face.

Todd Grisham: Firstly Randy, congratulations on your victory last week in the battle royal to earn a title match at Over the Limit but I’d like to ask; what are your thoughts on your opponent in that match-up the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio.

Randy Orton: You know Todd; I am not going to stand here and bad mouth or insult Alberto Del Rio, the kid has earned his spot as the premier title holder here on Smackdown. He has beaten some of the most experienced veterans and top young guns alike during his tenure. In fact, Del Rio reminds me of a certain superstar that I am sure everybody in the WWE Universe is very familiar with. This superstar arrived in this company, on this very brand nine years ago and entered with all the hype in the world surrounding him.

The crowd cheer slightly as Orton continues his dialogue with that sly grin on his mug.

Randy Orton: But this competitor, this competitor he thrived in the spotlight just like Del Rio and both men would go on to capture the World Heavyweight Championship, not only quickly but in impressive fashion. Of course the superstar that I am talking about, the one who resembles my future opponent oh, so much goes by the name of Randy Orton.

A complimentary pop for the Viper.

Randy Orton: As for Over the Limit, I am not going to underestimate the champion like many have before me because I know, just like me, that Del Rio can strike at any time and strike with such ferocity that he can leaves his opponents lying at his feet in just seconds.

The crowd are shushed momentarily; they don’t seem to like Orton’s ‘admiration’ for their despised world champion.

Randy Orton: But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to take Alberto down with an R (pause) K (pause) O in two weeks time and replace him as the top dog here on Smackdown as the World Heavyweight Champion!

That’s better news for the WWE Universe, a big pop for the Viper as he looks like he is about to keep on talking. However, those cheers soon turn to jeers as the man himself, Alberto Del Rio, struts into the shot of the camera just behind Orton, dressed in expensive looking white wrestling tights, complete with scarf and with his championship draped over his shoulder.

Alberto Del Rio: I thought I c’ud feel my ears burning.

The crowd continues raining down heat on the Mexican as he smirks arrogantly. Orton spins on his heels slowly, distaste on his face after being interrupted.

Alberto Del Rio: Well if it isn’t ‘de gusanito Randy Orton.

The heat rises for the World Heavyweight Champion as he adjusts the title a little high on his shoulder and smirks at his future opponent.

Alberto Del Rio: But I’m not sure I heard ‘ju correctly Randy, you did not call me ‘kid’ did ‘ju?

Orton raises his eyebrows and looks like he is about to answer but Del Rio cuts him off straight away.

Alberto Del Rio: Well in case ‘ju haven’t noticed I am no ‘kid’. I am ‘de World Heavyweight Champion, I am a man of class, honour and prestige and that is more ‘dan I c’ud say for ‘ju because we, we are nothing alike Randy.

Every one of Del Rio’s words are dripping with smugness and the slight grin previously on Randy Orton’s face is now gone.

Alberto Del Rio: ‘Ju also said last week, when ‘ju interrupted me, that ‘ju wanted to be ‘de best in the world? Well I am dearly sorry but that apodo, that goes to me. You want to know why?

Del Rio steps forward and get a little closer to the Viper and holds up his championship to his soon-to-be opponent’s nose, Orton now looking truly ticked off.

Alberto Del Rio: Because I hold ‘dis Randy? Maybe ‘ju should start showing some respect to those who are clearly above you.

The pair stare down each other for a couple of tense seconds before Del Rio walks away, Randy Orton watching him go with disgust in his eyes.

With Smackdown now back on the air we are shown a shot of a dingy corridor where the WWE Tag Team Champions are standing opposite one another. Neither man is wearing anything Corre related this week and the duo seem to be in an argument of sorts as Justin Gabriel stretches his triceps and Heath Slater watches on with his championship belt draped over his bare chest.

Heath Slater: C’mon Justin, I said I was sorry. What Wa- (a slight pause), what Barrett did to us last week pretty much sums up what he has been doing to us ever since we agreed to join his new coalition back in January.

Gabriel looks at his partner as he continues his warm-up and allows Slater to continue in his slow, Southern drawl.

Heath Slater: He demanded that we do everything he told us to do and if he detected the slightest mistake we would take the sum of the blame. He wanted to divide us, one of the greatest young tag teams in history, so that our allegiances lay not to each other but to him. So, once again I am sorry that I lost my cool last week but you know that it is all Barrett’s fault and certainly not yours. You’re my tag team partner and my friend Justin, we should never have let him control us the way he did and drive us apart.

The crowd doesn’t swallow Slater’s soppy apology at all and distant heat can be heard in the corridor as the One Man Rock Band looks at his tag team partner, who has now finished stretching, with puppy dog eyes.

Heath Slater: So I have an idea. We go out there tonight, beat the living stuffing out of those wannabe superhero freaks and we show the entire world why we are the WWE Tag Team Champions. Barrett seems to be doing pretty well for himself without the Corre on Monday Night RAW and I think it’s about time we followed suit.

Gabriel stares at Slater for a few tense moments then cracks a smile and throws his championship belt over his shoulder.

Justin Gabriel: Let’s do it.

The pair pats each other on the back as they walk side by side down the corridor with grins on their faces, their title belts gleaming in the hallway lights, until the camera leaves the scene.

We return to the ring where a duo of weedy looking men in plain, black tights are standing side by side with the hairier of the two holding a microphone to his lips, apparently in the middle of a rant that the crowd in Nashville is not receiving positively.

John Wilson (Jobber #1): ... and that’s why, although me and my partner here hail from Nashville we sure as hell aren’t proud of that fact. It ma-

*Get Up*

The jeers and boos from the crowd are soon drowned out as the twin brothers of Jimmy and Jey Uso burst out onto the stage; the duo full of energy. The team receives a hearty ovation from the WWE Universe while they storm down the ramp, devilish grins set on their faces as they stare up at their opponents for the night. Jimmy and Jey set up in their designated corner for the start of the contest and continue to pump themselves up while the referee gets everything in order, the twins slapping their chests and shrieking towards their soon-to-be opponents.

Match #2
Tag Team Match
John Wilson and Chris Nickson vs. Jey and Jimmy Uso

To start off the contest John Wilson showed no more respect to Jey Uso than he did to the home town crowd but the Samoan didn’t take any crap, cracking the weedy figure in the side of the head with a forearm to a big pop from the Tennessee crowd. The rest of the match would prove to be complete domination for the talented, young sons of Rikishi and in just a matter of minutes the twins had their opponents in the palm of their hand. After taking down Wilson with an impressive combination of strikes that included a knee to the gut from Jey, a throat thrust courtesy of Jimmy and finally a charging elbow to the nose via Jey, the twins turned their attention to their second opponent. Jimmy suckered Chris Nickson into sprinting into the ring and easily avoided his lazy punch so that his brother could crack the jobber in the jaw with a vicious, jumping heel kick that could be heard around the entire arena. Soon after, the twins turned back to the legal man in Wilson and Jimmy crunched him into the canvas with a Samoan Drop after the weedy man was launched into the air by Jey. Jey would then leap off the top rope and land down onto the arrogant Wilson with enough force to keep him down for a three count, the crowd popping for the final pinfall.

Winners: The Usos by pinfall (3:12)

The Usos embrace and allow the official to raise their hands high into the air in victory, a giant cheer of approval meeting them as they do so. The pair swiftly slip through the ropes and waltz up the ramp, slapping many fans’ hands as they go and grinning wildly towards the audience as they reach the stage. The twins stop on the top of the stage and shriek loudly to another big pop before disappearing behind the curtain.

***

The camera then suddenly cuts backstage to what appears to be a locker room where the gigantic frame of the Big Show is stooped over a small wooden bench, the giant taping up his massive right hand. The Largest Athlete in the World cracks his wrapped knuckle into his palm menacingly as Matt Striker notes on commentary that he was told earlier today by the man himself that Show is determined to get right back to the top of the mountain with a victory over the World Heavyweight Champion, especially after his disappointing performance last week in the battle royal.

GO!

*Close Your Eyes*

A big pop sounds around the entire arena as Christian steps out onto the stage and assesses his surroundings, searching for his beloved fans but once again it is without his trademark grin. Captain Charisma looks as stony faced as ever as he quickly walks down the ramp and into the ring; it appears that this whole ordeal with Edge has really made the Canadian more determined than the WWE Universe has ever seen him before. As he climbs up onto a turnbuckle Christian still acknowledges his fans to a hearty cheer but the usual light behind his eyes is gone when he stares out towards the sold out arena.

*Bed of Nails*

To a murmur of jeers and boos Tyson Kidd struts out onto the stage and down the ramp with an arrogant smile on his mug, the young man from Canada decked out in baby blue tights and boots. Just like the crowd the commentators don’t focus much upon the Calgary Kid and instead talk up the upcoming match between Edge and Christian in three weeks, the trio discussing Christian’s new found intensity and Edge’s continuing arrogance. Meanwhile, Kidd gives one more shrug towards the WWE Universe before turning back towards the centre of the ring and displaying his arrogant smirk towards Christian, hardly earning a reaction of any sorts from Captain Charisma.

Match #3
Singles Match
Christian vs. Tyson Kidd

The two Canadians put on an enthralling contest for the live audience in Tennessee but in the end it was the veteran instincts and new found aggression that pushed Christian over the line to victory. Kidd hit several impressive manoeuvres on his popular opponent and the young man from Calgary would believe that he was close to earning the win on a number of occasions throughout the match with his high paced and technically sound offence. However, after a series of quick counters Christian avoided a vicious spinning heel kick from his equally vicious, young opponent and connected with his patented Killswitch, rolling into the cover and hooking the leg long enough to gain the referee’s three count.

Winner: Christian by pinfall (7:34)

After having his name announced as the victor of the contest Christian stands proudly before the crowd of supporters in attendance upon a middle turnbuckle and soaks in the cheers of support. Christian offers one more small round of applause of his own towards the Peeps in Tennessee before turning around and exiting the ri- BUT HE IS BLINDSIDED BY TYSON KIDD?! The young Canadian rains down stomps and punches on a prone Christian to a firestorm of heat from the crowd and after several moments of continuous punishment he allows Captain Charisma to recover and slowly attempt to gain a stable base. As he does so however, Kidd takes a small run up, charges at Christian, sinks his hips and drops both of his feet into the side of his opponent’s head. After some more relentless punishment, Kidd drags a weary Christian onto his feet and attempts to synch in his devastating Ace of Harts finishing maovure but HE IS PUSHED WELL AWAY FROM HIS PREY BY DAVID HART SMITH!

Smith absolutely charged down the ramp and into the ring in order to stop his former tag team partner from inflicting any more damage to his fellow, downed Canadian. The two former members of the Hart Dynasty stare each other down for a few tense moments; Tyson sprawled on the ground and Smith standing tall besides a recovering Christian. However, in just a split second a sick grin spreads across DH Smith’s face and he hoists Captain Charisma onto his shoulder, much to the capacity audience’s surprise. Kidd’s eyes light up in delight and he shares a quick grin with Smith before leaping out onto the apron and then suddenly springing back into the ring, almost taking off Christian’s head with the Hart Attack! Smith and Kidd make a quick escape and jog up the ramp onto the stage, embracing one another as they arrive in front of the titantron. To resounding jeers and boos the pair raise each other’s arms into the air, Tyson Kidd looking especially proud of himself before Smackdown cuts away from the scene.

Next, we return backstage to where Todd Grisham is waiting diligently inside the interview pit in a crisp suit and a microphone ready as always. A jubilant whooping noise can be heard in the background as Todd begins to speak; his nervous demeanour appears to already be ruffled before he can even begin his second interview of the night.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and gentleman allow me to welcome my next guests Jimmy and Jey, the Usos.

The twins receive another appreciative cheer from the Tennessee crowd as they step into the shot looking as exhilarated as they did after their victory earlier in the night.

Todd Grisham: Firstly guys, congratulations on your victory earlier tonight and your impressive debut last week but I would like to ask; what are your intentions for your time here on Smackdown?

Todd places the microphone between the duo and waits patiently for one, or both, of their answers. After a couple of seconds Jey (the twin with the tribal tattoo on his chest) steps forward and gently prises the microphone from Grisham’s hand.

Jey Uso: For those of you in the WWE Universe that do not know us, my name is Jey and this here (indicating his identical twin) is my brother Jimmy. We come from a long line of Samoan warriors, men who are not only noble and proud of their heritage but men who combine incredible athleticism with unparallel power to match anybody they meet in the ring. And I think we are doing a good job of upholding that legacy so far, don’t ya’ think Jimmy?

Jimmy nods enthusiastically and pats his brother on the back.

Jey Uso: How about you Todd?

Todd nods nervously, obviously not wanting to get on the bad side of these somewhat nice, but rather fearsome Samoans.

Jey Uso: But to get to your question, and I know a lot of people have been wondering the same thing; what are our intentions? Well they’re pretty simple, my brother and I, we want to be the WWE Tag Team Champions and the only way we are going to achieve that is by beating Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. Let me get this straight, unlike our time on RAW there will be no distractions, this time we are focused on winning championships. And with the world’s eyes upon this tag tam division as of right now, we couldn’t think of a better time to capture those belts for the first time in our careers.

The crowd cheer their support earnestly and Jimmy whoops excitably at the very prospect his brother is speaking of.

Jey Uso: We want to win those championships to prove that we can be at the top, so that the legacy of the Isle of Samoa rightfully lives on here in the WWE. And we ask any who thinks otherwise to meet us in the centre of that ring and put their money where their mouth is.

Jey hands the microphone back to Todd Grisham before staring at his twin, both their faces alight with excitement.

Both: USO!

The tag team bound out of the shot of the camera to another sharp pop from the WWE Universe and leave Grisham fumbling with the microphone in his hands. However, the camera doesn’t leave the interview pit completely as a whispering voice can just be heard in the background.

?: I can get it done, don’t worry about me.

The shot switches towards the unknown voice and it is revealed to be Curt Hawkins; the Long Island Loner leans on a grimy wall in a pair of ripped jeans, battered shoes, hoodie and a beanie with a chunky Nokia gripped in his hand.

?: I have been working for three years to get this one opportunity and listen to me, trust me; I’m not going to let it go. What we need to focus on is getting you ready and getting you he-

But at that point Hawkins realizes that he is being watched by both Grisham and a cameraman and hastily says goodbye to the other end before slamming the phone into his jean pocket. Hawkins then glares at Grisham before steaming down a hallway and out of sight, muttering something about Grisham being a ‘sheep’, obviously not too pleased at being overheard.

CHECK, ONE TWO... OH YEAH!

*Get On Your Knees*

To a less than pleasant reaction Jack Swagger strolls from behind the curtain and into the bright lights of the arena with a microphone dangling from his hand. The boos and jeers seem to increase even more as the WWE Universe in Tennessee notices that Swagger is holding a microphone but the All American American takes it all in his stride, continuing his walk towards the ring with that cheesy grin of his plastered across his face. Swagger climbs the steel steps, slips through the ropes and meanders around the squared circle for a few moments until the heat dies down so that he can begin to speak without being misheard.

Jack Swagger: Finally, finally this company has taken notice of all of you loyal fans and truly begun to listen to the needs and the desires of the WWE Universe. The WWE brass now knows what you want to see when you flick on your televisions and turn to Smackdown each and every Friday night.

Swagger pauses and removes the microphone from his lips; assessing his surroundings momentarily.

Jack Swagger: They know you want to see Jack Swagger.

The former world champion is instantly blasted with boos but the young man from Oklahoma doesn’t even flinch, even the grin remains intact. It is almost as if he truly thinks they are supporting him.

Jack Swagger: So, when our esteemed general manager Theodore Long excluded me from last week’s original show and then went as far as banning me from the impromptu twenty man battle royal, the higher ups realized that enough was enough. They, just like all of you watching me right here, right now knew that I don’t belong on Superstars, I rightfully belong here on Smackdown.

More heat for Swagger; wasn’t he just protesting a couple of weeks ago that he had to ‘suffer’ on the blue brand?

Jack Swagger: A man with the calibre that I possess should not be wrestling blinged up criminals on a Thursday night; he should be competing in front of millions of people in meaningful matches on a show such as Smackdown. Thankfully the WWE Board of Directors agreed with me one hundred percent and that is why, by overriding Teddy Long, I have been given a place in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

More boos and jeers as Swagger adjusts his wrestling singlet and runs a hand through his hair.

Jack Swagger: The Intercontinental Championship has always been seen as a mark of greatness in this industry, a sign that the holder will go on to bigger and better things in the future. The Intercontinental Championship belongs around the waist of somebody like me; a man with the pedigree and the ability to carry this company on his back for a long, long time while still looking good doing it.

A small smattering of heat for Swagger as he smirks arrogantly once more.

Jack Swagger: On the other hand, that illustrious title belt should not go anywhere near someone like Daniel Bryan. The moment Daniel Bryan was drafted to Friday Night Smackdown he was praised by Teddy Long, by the entire locker room because they were about to get the chance to work with one of the supposed (Swagger pulls out some air quotations) ‘greatest wrestlers in the company’ and (cue more air quotations) be able to ‘watch him grow’.

The crowd cheer the mere mention of Daniel Bryan and this visibly upsets Swagger for the first time of the night.

Jack Swagger: Seriously?

Swagger’s lisp makes the crowd noticeably laugh at the All American American’s remark but Jack does his best to ignore them and carry on.

Jack Swagger: Teddy you already had the greatest wrestler in the company, hell the greatest wrestler in the world right under your nose but instead you turn your attention to Daniel Bryan? When people hear that the WWE is coming to town they don’t spend their hard earned money to watch Daniel Bryan, they want to see Jack Swagger. Sure, I watched along with everybody else in the world to see what Bryan could do when he first stepped into a WWE ring last year but to say the least, I was disappointed. All of the great things that I heard about Bryan would prove to be myths. All I see is a talentless pushover.

Some more heat for Swagger.

Jack Swagger: And WWE Universe, is that really who you want to see lead this company into the future?(Without waiting for a response Swagger goes on) I didn’t think so because I know what you people want, what you people want to see - Jack Swagger as the Intercontinental Champion.

To some hearty jeers and boos Swagger tosses his microphone to the outside and sets his eyes on the entrance ramp. After waiting for his opponent to enter via the ramp for a couple of seconds Swagger turns his back to the titantron and whether to warm himself back up or ease some nerves he begins to run circles around the ring to the ire of the Tennessee crowd.

*Masterpiece*

The spotlight dims, the speakers blur out a low beat and Chris Masters slowly walks onto the stage and stares down his opponent for the night. As silver fireworks explode all around his body while he poses, Masters doesn’t take his eyes off a now still Swagger for a single second. After a final burst of pyro and a menacing thrust of his biceps towards the All American American, Masters slowly stalks down the ramp and slides into the ring. The pair doesn’t waste any time in getting right into each other’s faces, staring each other down from close range before the official tears them apart so that they cannot begin the rematch from Extreme Rules prematurely.

Match #4
Intercontinental Championship Tournament Match (Opening Round)
Jack Swagger vs. Chris Masters

The two young bulls put on another spectacular encounter for the WWE Universe and, just like their match twelve nights earlier it was a real see saw event to witness. Masters’ combination of impressive agility and strength was only matched by Swagger’s uncanny vision and technical ability and the two superstars had the Tennessee audience out of their seats throughout. The hulking Masterpiece attempted to lock in his patented submission hold on a couple of occasions but Swagger had the move scouted and was able to avoid it and then move onto aiming for his opponents vulnerable knee. Some way through the contest Swagger rolled out of a heavy Samoan Drop and brutally struck Masters’ knee with the heel of his foot, allowing the former world champion all the time in the world to weigh up and connect with a vicious clothesline. This move left Chris stunned as he lay slumped against the bottom of a corner of the ring and Swagger didn’t hesitate in taking advantage, repeatedly slamming the back of Masters’ against the bottom turnbuckle cover. The match official started to advance on the pair and tear Swagger from his wounded prey but at that same moment Master decided to lash out with both of his feet to free himself from any more damage and ended up pushing Swagger back and straight into the referee! The collision hurt the official a lot more than it did Swagger and the All American American quickly sprung to his feet to get right back on the attack but a glimmer of crimson caught his eye and made him turn his head towards the opposite side of the ring.

Standing tall on the apron and clad in red wrestling tights and boots was Daniel Bryan, the young man glaring at Swagger as he stood dumfound in the centre of the ring. Swagger slowly walked towards Bryan with his arms held out in front of his body and obviously tried to talk Bryan into getting down off the apron and heading back towards the lock room but all he received WAS A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE SIDE OF THE FACE! To a massive cheer Bryan finally takes Swagger’s advice and walks quickly back up the ramp, his eyes alight with excitement and his body quavering with adrenaline. Back in the ring, Swagger arose in a furious mood and took several steps towards the titantron; almost tempting Bryan to come back into the squared circle. However, a pair of strong hands pulled him back into the centre of the ring and locked him in a full nelson! With the referee groggily rising to a stable base Masters decided to put the match to rest, lifting Swagger high into the air whilst still holding onto the Masterlock and slamming him down hard to the canvas on the back of his neck. Swagger was dead to the world and Masters’ happily hooked a leg and counted along with the official to a count of three.

Winner: Chris Masters by pinfall (11:23)

The crowd gives a hearty cheer for Masters as he has his arm raised into the air in victory and the big man from Los Angeles slides under the bottom rope and starts his walk back up the ramp. With a giant grin on his face, Masters salutes his faithful fans one more time before disappearing behind the curtain.

*Black or White*

To a chorus of heat Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel burst out from behind the curtain with their championships gleaming from around their waists, a new theme accompanying them as they walk down the ramp. Gabriel offers a quick grin towards his recently forgiven tag team partner and Slater responds by patting his partner on the back before quickly sprinting into the ring and posing arrogantly towards the WWE Universe. The pair meet in the centre of the ring, stand side by side and lay their title belts across their shoulders; Slater grinning devilishly and Gabriel looking totally determined upon the titantron.

*Super*

With both the WWE Tag Team Champions and the WWE Universe in Tennessee waiting anxiously for the next pair to appear, the arena suddenly glows blindingly white. The bright lights slowly dim but before Slater, Gabriel or even the crowd can react the stage explodes with white pyrotechnics and from within the smoke of the fireworks emerges Paul London and Brian Kendrick! A massive cheer goes up for the returning tag team as they stand nobly upon the stage in red and white tights and stare down upon the former Corre members with a shadow of a grin upon their mugs. After several more moments of simply soaking in the adulation from the Tennessee fans, Kendrick and London burst into action by charging down the ramp and springing into the ring, causing Gabriel and Slater to scatter.

Match #5
Tag Team Match (Non-Title)
WWE Tag Team Champions Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel vs. Paul London and Brian Kendrick

Despite not being a title match the team of London and Kendrick put absolutely everything on the line in order to gain the victory, knowing rightfully that a win would put them right into contention for those bronze plated title belts. The two superheroes picked up the pace early and took it to the former Corre members, flying all over the ring and displaying an array of exciting manoeuvres to the live crowd. However, this game plan would bite Brian Kendrick in the backside as an attempted crossbody from the top rope was countered into a gutbuster from Justin Gabriel and a prone, wheezing Kendrick was left open to a vicious double team move from the champions. There were no significant verbal niggles between Gabriel and Slater reminiscent of Extreme Rules and the pair managed to wrestle an almost perfect tag team match by keeping Kendrick rooted to their side of the ring. Even as Kendrick made a desperate attempt to bring his tag team partner into the contest, Gabriel cut him off at the pass and dropped him with a swift STO before transitioning right into a standing moonsault! The WWE Universe in Tennessee even gave a small smattering of applause for that sequence from the South African Sensation and as Gabriel flashed a quick smile before going into the cover, his partner out on the apron didn’t look as if he felt the same way about Gabriel receiving a respectable reaction from the crowd.

Slater was soon to tag himself back into the match with a sharp slap to the back of Gabriel and immediately went about setting his injured opponent just feet away from his corner. The One Man Rock Band clambered up the turnbuckle and, with a sharp glance at his fellow champion, launched himself into the air and down towards Kendrick in a moonsault fashion. However, it wasn’t Kendrick he met on the way down; it was the full force of the canvas! With both Slater and Kendrick struggling on the mat towards their respective partners it was the superhero that got their first, slapping the hand of Paul London and bringing him right back into the contest. After several minutes standing anxiously on the apron, London unleashed his fury upon Heath Slater with the crowd fully supporting this beating. London almost had the victory in his grasp after several lightning quick roll up sequences and surely would have had the three count when he connected with an incredible superkick right to the jaw of the West Virginian native if it wasn’t for the interference of one Justin Gabriel. London tried valiantly to hold off both of his opponents at once but the numbers game took over rather suddenly and he soon faced an incoming Justin Gabriel, only dodging the bullet just in time to cause the South African to bulldoze his own partner with a spinning heel kick! London then launched his foot towards his adversary for another superkick but he dodged it and turned to begin his own assault... ONLY TO BE CRACKED IN THE CHIN FROM ANOTHER SUPERKICK, ONE FROM BRIAN KENDRICK!

Gabriel tumbled under the bottom rope and Kendrick followed him right out to the outside with style, launching his entire weight in an over the top rope cannonball and slamming Justin into the barricade, taking both men out of the equation. Meanwhile, Slater groggily raised himself off the mat and attempted to lock a distracted London into an inverted headlock – looking for the A Minor! But with the combination of Slater’s swollen mug from his own partner’s kick and London’s determination, the superhero managed to flip up and over his opponent’s back whilst still in the hold and roll up Slater for the surprise three count!

Winners: Paul London and Brian Kendrick by pinfall (12:31)

London scrambles out of the ring, hitches his tag team partner to his feet and the pair happily treks back up the ramp and onto the stage. While the tag team champions argue amongst each other in the middle of the ring, London and Kendrick pose admirably on top of the stage to a gigantic cheer.

GONG

*Rest in Peace*

The fans in Tennessee absolutely explode for the trademark gong of the Undertaker and they continue their ravenous cheers as the Phenom wanders slowly down the ramp and places his feet onto the bottom step of the steel ring steps. With the eerie raising of his hands, the arena lights spring back on and the Deadman, after wiping his boots on the apron, steps through the ropes and grabs a microphone from a stage hand. ‘Taker stares around the WWE Universe for a few moments with the loud cheers ring throughout the arena and nods his head slowly to acknowledge the applause and admiration.

The Undertaker: For twenty long years I have put my body on the line night in, night out for this company. I have faced thousands of men, whether they be jaded veterans or rookies willing to do anything, and I mean anything to get noticed. But no matter who or what was thrown at me, I was always, always able to overcome it and stake my claim as the biggest and baddest this industry has ever seen.

A resounding cheer for the Phenom as he takes the microphone from his lips and begins to pace back and forth for a few moments before returning to his monologue.

The Undertaker: That was the case until Wrestlemania. Never before in my life have I been unable to walk under my own power but after taking three brutal pedigrees and being dropped onto the top of my skull with my very own manoeuvre, my entire body refused to even move an inch. Despite snatching the victory and adding yet another victim to my collection of souls, I felt as though the pain of a thousand defeats was weighing me down as I lay face first down upon the bloody canvas.

More cheers ring around the arena but ‘Taker doesn’t acknowledge the fans this time, his face is set in a sombre state.

The Undertaker: What was once my yard was now a personal hell, a place I had never encountered before. Pain has always been a factor in my life, I have lived with it every day for the past two decades but to know that I needed the assistance of four mortal men to just walk away from the ring, my ring, is incomprehensible. That night, almost two months ago in Atlanta, Georgia was the night that I realized that I can longer hang with the best in the business. I have, for twenty years, prided myself on being able to not only dominate my opponent mentally but physically as well. But that night, that night...

‘Taker suddenly cuts himself off and squints around the squared circle, slowly examining the area around the ring, from the announce desk, to the ropes and finally to the WWE Universe.

The Undertaker: I am a proud man and I will not, I will not watch my body deteriorate in front of my very eyes in the middle of the ring. Since Wrestlemania I have had nothing but this on my mind, so it is with a heavy heart-

IT’S A SHAME THAT THEY LOST THEIR HEAD, A CARELESS MAN COULD WIND UP DEAD!

*Written in My Face*

‘Taker stares daggers towards the stage as the gigantic figure of Sheamus emerges through the curtain and begins to arrogantly saunter down the ramp. The pale skinned juggernaut oozes confidence as he steps into the squared circle with a broad grin on his face and grabs a microphone from the side of the apron. Although ‘Taker looks at the man standing across from him with murder in his eyes, Sheamus still swaggers into the centre of the ring, grinning madly.

Sheamus: Oh come on Deadman, cut the games.

The Undertaker’s eyes are now practically slits as he stares at the smiling Irishman across from him.

Sheamus:These idiots here in Tennessee might be falling for your facade like they do every time you step out from behind the curtain, but you ain’t fooling me. You’re quitting because of your pride? You’re quitting because you don’t want to let down these people? That’s a load of crap and you know it Undertaker!

The crowd hisses furiously at Sheamus as they can’t believe he has cut off, and now insulted, a legend spilling his heart in the centre of the squared circle.

Sheamus: You aren’t scared of hurting your already shattered humility, believe me you lost that years ago, deep down you are scared of something else. The big, bad Deadman knows he doesn’t stand a chance against the wave of talented young stars that are making their way quickly up the ranks here in the WWE. People like Wade Barrett, people like Cody Rhodes and people like me, Sheamus. However, I do know you were telling the truth when you said that you couldn’t hang with the best in the business. Because the best in the business is standing before your very eyes right now, and you couldn’t hang with me any day of the week.

Heat for the grinning Irishman.

Sheamus: You ain’t scary anymore Undertaker.

Sheamus removes the microphone from his mouth and lets out a low rumble of a laugh but before he can do anything else THE UNDERTAKER RAISES A RIGHT HAND AND CLAPS IT AROUND THE IRISHMAN’S NECK! But, to the chagrin of the WWE Universe, Sheamus easily swats away the Phenom’s hand and charges at the big man in front of him. Sheamus swings a big Irish hammer at ‘Taker’s head but the Deadman sidesteps the attack and promptly dumps the Celtic Warrior over the top rope with a vicious clothesline. Despite being flipped over the ropes, Sheamus still has a cheeky grin on his face as he backs up the ramp and stares up at the furious Undertaker still standing in the ring. After watching Sheamus reach the stage the Deadman raises his hands once more and, after a flash of darkness and a solitary toll of a bell, he is gone – leaving the camera with a final shot of the grinning Irishman and the sound of resounding boos.

WEEEEEEEEEEELL, IT’S A BIG SHOOOOOOOW!

*Crank It Up*

The absolutely giant figure of the Big Show lumbers down the ramp looking cheerful as the fans cheer him on valiantly. The former world champion clambers over the top rope in one fierce movement and, once in the ring, he lets out a low roar as he poses towards the fans imitating one of his favourite manoeuvres; the chokeslam. Show paces from side to side a number of times as he watches the titantron, nervous energy obviously flowing through him as he twitches his enormous muscles and does a couple of last minute stretches.

*Realeza*

Heat immediately meets Ricardo Rodriguez as he stands up from his seat and raises a microphone to his lips; his beady eyes looking from the intimidating figure of Show to the luxury vehicle on the side of the ramp containing his employer. Alberto Del Rio soon emerges from the side door of the champagne coloured Audi and struts onto the ramp; gold pyro raining down around the Mexican Aristocrat’s white scarf, white wrestling tights and of course the heavy title strapped around his waist. Del Rio takes his sweet time getting into the ring and, once he does so, takes a corner and stares at disgust towards the gigantic man across from him.

Match #6
Singles Match( Non-Title)
The Big Show vs. World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio w/ Ricardo Rodriguez

The crowd was heavily invested in the main event match of the evening and made sure to cheer the Big Show’s every hard hitting offence and jeer and hiss every time Del Rio managed to take advantage. With his incredible size and strength, Show took the control of the contest early but Del Rio took the brunt of the damage and, while both men where tangling on the outside, powered through and barged Show’s arm into the steel steps. For the remainder of the time that Del Rio was dominating the downed giant, the Mexican worked over the left arm that had previously been thundered into the steel steps. Although Show managed to gain a stable base and started to mount the first ounce of an attacking sequence, Del Rio ducked under a big right hand and locked in the cross armbreaker! After much struggling upon the canvas and almost frenzied cries of pain, Show eventually managed to get up onto both of his feet – but with Del Rio still hanging valiantly onto the giant’s arm! Show let out a vicious war cry before dumping Alberto onto the mat to a round of cheers and applause for the effort. A range of shoulder blocks, clotheslines and chops soon followed for the World heavyweight Champion courtesy of the Big Show and the gigantic former world champion then capped his attack off with a jarring chokeslam!

Show draped his entire body across the prone Mexican in a cover but he, alongside the WWE Universe, let out a cry of surprise as Del Rio kicked out with milliseconds to spare. After both men struggled to gain a stable base, Show charged at a panting Del Rio resting against a corner but the Mexican scattered, causing the giant to ram his already damaged shoulder into the top turnbuckle. The big man recoiled in pain and watched with wide eyes as the Mexican advanced upon him – BUT HE QUICKLY LASHED OUT AND GRASPED HIS HAND AROUND DEL RIO’S THROAT! Alberto tried desperately to escape from the vicious grip of the Big Show but only succeeded in pushing the giant’s back towards the ropes before he got lifted several feet into the air. However, for whatever reason Show let Del Rio go before he could plant him into the mat and a relieved Del Rio didn’t hesitate in taking advantage of a strangely wide eyed and dazed giant. After a short run up the champion cracked Big Show in the side of the head with his patented step-up enzuigiri and, with Show now struggling to remain conscious on his knees, he hit him with a second kick for good measure. With the crowd booing furiously, Del Rio clambered his weight across the downed giant and watched with ecstasy as the referee made the three count.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio by pinfall (9:57)

With Ricardo Rodriguez quickly by his side, Alberto Del Rio begins to celebrate like he has won the World Heavyweight Championship all over again. However, the jeers increase even further as a replay of the conclusion of the contest is shown on the titantron for the entire crowd to see. With Show’s massive girth blocking him from sight from the referee, Del Rio’s own personal announcer leapt onto the apron and blasted the giant in the back of the head with the big gold belt. This news doesn’t spoil Del Rio’s celebration one bit, not at all, as he embraces Rodriguez and smiles ever so broadly, seemingly asking for his title belt at the same time. Ricardo turns to grab the waiting title belt but turns right into the figure of Randy Orton, a slight smile on his face and the World Heavyweight Championship resting face up in the palms of his hands. Ricardo soon scatters from the ring entirely and leaves his employer to stand face to face with his challenger in two weeks time at Over the Limit.
Orton steps just a foot away from Del Rio and slowly presents the title belt towards the sneering Mexican but instead of graciously taking the belt Del Rio attempts to snatch it from the Viper’s grip.

Orton simply shakes his head and holds on tight, causing Del Rio to stumble backwards against the ropes. A quick grin spreads across Randy’s face once more as Del Rio blushes and stalks back towards the Viper and attempts to gain his title back. But this time, Orton lets go in the struggle and Del Rio stumbles back and lands right on his backside, the crowd laughing accordingly. The Mexican shakes with anger as he embraces his beloved World Heavyweight Championship upon the canvas but soon gets up and sprints at a grinning Orton, title belt poised in an attacking stance. But a lazy shot is ducked by Orton and the Viper cracks Alberto’s face right into the canvas with an RKO! The WWE Universe explodes as Orton scrambles up onto a turnbuckle and celebrates his minor victory with the Tennessee crowd, the champion sprawled unconscious on the mat.

Grudge Match
Christian vs. Edge

Jam's Review
All I can say is...FINALLY! Haha. Good to see you produce a show Peep, but anyway, back to the show.

Excellent opening promo with Christian and Edge. I think you captured Christian well here and it was brilliant to have Edge interrupt. The dialogue between the two was awesome and I think the time off was really good for you Peep as this promo was really good. I liked that they brawled and Christian came out on top after a quick Killswitch, I love that finisher!

The IC Title Tournament starts on this episode and the opening contest of Rey Mysterio and DH Smith was good. As soon as I saw who was competing though, I knew Rey would come out with the win. It's not bad though. I like how you're using DH Smith because I think he's pretty talented but was used wrong in the WWE.

Randy Orton's interview was kind awkward to me. I get that he was trying to make Del Rio look credible comparing Del Rio to himself in his younger years but his admiration for Del Rio kinda threw me off. I know you said it got some heat from the crowd but still didn't sit well with me. Having Del Rio interrupt Orton was brilliant again and your promos are just on fire on this episode Peep.

I like that you gave the Usos some air time and a match. I believe these two should be the champions in WWE right now and not Air Boom who were just randomly put together. The Usos are some talented kids and deserved to be used on Smackdown. Having them cut promos is just another way of getting them over.

Ha, just when I thought DH Smith and Kidd were gonna feud, looks like the Hart Dynasty is back together. That's great as well. Now you have the Hooliganz, Slabriel, Usos, and the Hart Dynasty. Looking to be a great division Peep, keep that up.

Great promo by Swagger. I love that you're using talent that we don't usually see on TV. That's also the reason why I like Smackdown more than Raw. We see more of the new guys on Smackdown, which is great. Oh no, Swagger loses! Ohwell, the Long/Swagger feud continues on and I don't mind that.

Tag-team action yet again, awesome! Slabriel vs. the Hooliganz or superheroes or whatever you have them called on your thread. I liked the match! Very fast-paced which is expected. Whoa, Slabriel loses, looks like we will see a title match soon for those tag titles. Hope you keep them with Slabriel for a little while longer.

Wow, for a second there I really thought you'd have the Undertaker retiring. Sheamus vs. Undertaker is gonna be great! I like that you kept Sheamus heel since I prefer him that way but his face turn isn't bad. Sheamus vs. Undertaker, two powerhouses going at it, wow! Brilliant Peep, just brilliant.

Also, having a Raw advertisement on your show was awesome. Now looking forward to Theo's show with HBK in charge and Trish Stratus in charge of the divas. Excellent teamwork here guys.

Nice ending to the show. The Big Show/Del Rio match was a fun ready and Del Rio coming out victorious was expected. I'm actually a fan of Del Rio when he was on Smackdown. I just think that the World Title suits him better than the WWE Title. He should've been kept on Smackdown. I like the idea of a newcomer coming and taking down opponents but when the best comes forward, he has a tough time. Good booking here Peep. Great great show. Will be looking forward to the next one. Take your time. If it takes you this long to produce shows of this quality, take all the time you need! :D

-Here we go, this will be all over the place as I want to put my thoughts towards what I enjoyed about the show here.

-Love the IC title tournament as it will make the title mean more to the winner as they had to go through all that to get it. Rey is a little above the IC title, but I have no gripes with him in it as I expect it will branch into his feud with Cody and we saw a bit of foreshadowing there.

-The tag team division is looking hella strong. However I'm not sure about how the Hart Dynasty reunited. It was at the expense of Christian, who is being built up as a legit star here on SD and getting whooped up by a tag team is going to do no favors to him. Just my point of view, maybe it's just me.

-I'm with Jam on the Orton interview, it just seemed off. I'm not gonna give you a hard time as I had problems myself when it came to feeling Orton's character. It is a tricky task as Orton is just so monotonous and too the point, but it just comes out lazy on paper. He is more of an on air promo guy than a book this one. At least from my experience.

-The Undertaker bit was fantastic. It left an aura of maybe Taker is truly gone with how he up and vanished. However I can't see that being the case and I expect him and Sheamus to meet soon. Not right away, but it will definitely happen somehow.

-I dig the Usos, felt the jobber promo was a bit unnecessary, but I can see the point it made too get the Usos over as faces. I also enjoyed the promo. Same can be said for Hawkins. He has been my favorite part of your show since the start and I look forward to what is coming from this whole thing with him and just who he is cohering with.

-ADR looked decent, but I just wasn't feeling it with him. Maybe it is the fact I'm not fond of him to begin with. Orton gets the upper hand this week, so I suspect we see ADR get some revenge next week to even the score heading into OTL.

-Overall the show was good. Felt you got over some midcard guys and really made them look good, especially the tag team division. Could have used a bit more focus on the top guys like ADR and Orton. Edge and Christian had plenty of time, though I'm iffy on the Hart Dynasty taking down Christian. All in all, quality work as always partner.

Starting the show off with Christian and Edge was the right move considering they are the main feud on this show. I can say that this is the most interesting thing you have going because of the all the interviews and segments you throw at us with this. You were able to come up with some strong points for both Christian and Edge during the segment. I really thought that Edge came off well in the way you had him speak and what his reasons behind his speech were. So many people just have guys say things but never provide reasons why. In this promo when Edge would say something he would come right back and give a reason which made the promo complete. You have done a great job with this feud Peep and with me being one of the guys who hate reading the same thing over and over again, so it takes someone special to be able to get me interested in Edge vs Christian. Having Edge in the heel role works great and this segment really showed how well you can write for Edge as a bad guy. Christian for me wasn’t as good as Edge but he was still really well done. With these two facing off again at Over The Limit which I think could be the final I have very high expectations. I guess you could continue the feud once more with Christian losing at OTL and having the final match at Capital Punishment (if that is the next one after OTL). Anyway, the segment was well written and it did its job to further the feud.

I would have liked Smith to go over in this match because Mysterio didn’t need to win. I understand that it was the logical decision to have the bigger star win but this could have been a chance to give the younger talent a chance to shine during this tournament. Nothing major I guess as it was a logical booking decision. It was great that you had Smith compete against Rey for ten minutes instead of being squashed so that was a plus for this encounter.

I’m not too interested in seeing Alberto Del Rio vs Randy Orton as the title feud in this thread. While Orton is one of the biggest faces in this thread and had been built up great by Theo, I don’t want to see the strap put on him. The WWE did that and keeping the belt on Del Rio would do wonders for him. You had Del Rio beat Mysterio at the last PPV and while I wasn’t high on that feud it did a job. This feud needs Orton to go into that Viper character where he strikes at any moment. My suggestion is have Orton snap and go on a rampage the final week before Over The Limit. I could see Del Rio showing fear while facing Orton and him gaining a cheap win at the PPV and then a clean one at the next could do wonders for him as your champion.

Slater is boring; get the titles on someone else my friend so we have something interesting from the tag team division.

I’m skipping ahead because nothing of note happened during this time. I like that the Hart Dynasty is coming back so it does provide a reason why Rey went over in the first match. I’m all for giving the younger talent a chance to shine so this is great. It adds another team to the tag division and provides some entertaining television for the fans.

To the segment with The Undertaker as I attempt to get this thing posted. I’m 50/50 on this promo because of one major thing. Taker said “Since Wrestlemania I have had nothing but this on my mind, so it is with a heavy heart-”, I hated this line. For me this ruined the promo and I don’t understand why Taker would say that. When has he ever spoken about having a heart? The guy is a demon, not an angel. He isn’t supposed to show weakness at all unless he has been beaten to shit. I didn’t like it Peep and the rest from Taker had some faults also. I didn’t agree with Taker talking about hanging with the best in the business because it didn’t sound like the dark side gimmick he has. When Taker was the biker then I could live with it but as the demon it just wasn’t clicking for me. Sheamus spoke well and I didn’t have problems with him. I like the idea of having Taker vs Sheamus as a feud to get Sheamus over on Smackdown. If this is to happen Sheamus needs to beat Taker clean though.

The main event was enjoyable and it got the champion a big victory. If you keep giving Del Rio wins against former World Champions then he could really gain was heat as a heel. You have done a nice job building Del Rio up so far, keep it up. The ending of Smackdown was what I wanted for this feud. Having Orton get violent was the right move so next week if Del Rio strikes back we will have some real heat between the two guys. Overall the show was very good with some parts being better. The Undertaker promo wasn’t something I liked but others are speaking highly about it so take my review as you wish. It just didn’t sit well with me at all Peep. As I said though, the show was very good.

Nice work.

--- My apologies for not getting to this sooner, Ive been caught up in my section, the election, and real life. Here we go!

LSN's review of Smackdown, May 13th, 2011.

---Fantastic job of recapping the action from the previous weeks as they pertain to the various Superstars. It set the stage for the major feuds on the brand, and more importantly, got the "viewer" who's just started tuning in this week up to speed. Nicely done.

---Average promo from Christian to start the show, although I liked his intensity. The point here, however, is that the promo didn't need to be great, as this is already an established feud and a sure-fire seller. The segment picked up greatly when Edge came out, and although I'm not a fan of "better man" feuds, I do like this one. With all these two have been apart of throughout the years, it's probably the best rationale for a feud between the two. I would have avoided more physicality between the two, as it's become a bit repetitive, but overall this was a solid opening segment and the top feud on the show right now. Just keep progressing this one and see if you can find another layer for them to possibly feud over, such as implications for their OTL match.(#1 Contender's match, possibly?) It truly depends on how long you want to stretch the feud.

--- I like the choice of openers between DHS and Rey Mysterio. One, it shows the importance of the IC title by positioning it in the ever important opening match, and it gave the crowd a solid match to get into to get them hot for what seems to be a packed show.As for the match, it was just the right length to get the tournament underway, and having Mysterio go over is the right call as ther former World Championm could bring the Championship back to prominence after Barrett dropped the ball with it. Smith got in a good amount of offense to be relevant and this not to just be a showcase match for Mysterio. Good stuff here.

---Not a fan of the backstage stuff between Orton and Del Rio. I would have liked to see the pair go back and forth in the promo rather then Del Rio responding and them having a staredown. It doesn't need to be personal, and Orton established a nice base for the beginning of the feud, but I didn't like Del Rio just walking away there with no opposition from Orton. The match lacks heat and a build thusfar, but I'm sure that can change. Id like to see an in-ring segment between the two, with the two going back and forth. If a feud could benefit from getting physical, this is it.

--- Nice squash/showcase for the Usos. I'd be highly in favor of a London and Kendrick/Usos feud for the Tag Titles with L & K inevitably takes the titles from the bland Gabriel/Slater. Even a three-way match could/should be in order, as the Usos are the most deserving team of a title match right now.

----I like the emphasis that Christian came out for his match against Kidd without his trademark smirk. It shows how seriously he's taking this feud with Edge, which should make for a heckuva match come OTL. The win over Kidd is no big deal, but Christian's place is already cemented. The match was little more then just getting a win for Christian, and a set-up for the post-match attack. So it begs the question: Was it the Harts trying to make a name for themselves, or are they aligned with Edge? Good post-match attack that furthers Christian's storyline, and should probably lead to him becoming even more aggressive.

---Cookie cutter promo from the Usos, but a necessary one. Good to see them focusing on winning the Tag Team titles and being deserving of the shot, as they truly are the #1 Contenders. I'm truly interested in what direction the tag titles go in.

---I'm not sure where you're going with Hawkins at this point, possibly a multiple-personality type thing? I'll reserve judgment either way until I see more.

---The Swagger promo did what it was intended to, which is to put over Swagger's grievances with Teddy Long, the importance of the IC tournament, and Swagger's feud with Bryan. Nothing ground-breaking here, but another effective promo.

---The match between Swagger and Bryan was nothing but a vehicle to further the Swagger/Bryan feud, so I'm ok with Master's going over, even if he does nothing for me. I hope this was more about Bryan/Swagger then pushing Masters in any way, as he belongs on Superstars/enhancement talent, and nothing more.

---And the tag team division just got more interesting. I'm surprised you re-introduced them with a match and win over the tag champs, but this seems to indicate they're going to be major players right away. Good call in making this non-title, and some fun stuff should be coming up in the next few weeks with L & K, The Usos, and Gabriel/Slater. You have the chance to do something special here.

---Very interesting promo from Taker. It was good to see him acknowledge the toll the match with HHH took on him, and how he doesn't feel like himself anymore. It was a vulnerable Undertaker, one we haven't seen before. Id normally be against that kind of thing with Taker, but the match at Mania was brutal on him. Sheamus' interruption came at the perfect time, and I loved his confidence. I also liked that their first "encounter" didn't end in one man definitively getting the upper hand, and it still leaves the question open over Taker's big announcement. Nicely done.

--- Good plug for Raw. Made me look forward to a show I forgot I already reviewed! :p

---I would have rather seen Del Rio come out looking extremely strong with a win over Big Show, making him look like he's a formidable opponent for Orton. He hung well with Big Show, but the fact remains that he would have lost the match had it not been for Rodriguez. Del Rio doesn't have to be that kind of heel, although in his defense, he wasn't aware of Ricardo's actions. Still, it's a good, albeit tainted win over a formidable opponent in the Big Show.

---And Randy Orton fires the first shot in the championship feud. I have mixed feelings about the ending, as I do like the physicality being initiated between the two. Also, this feud won't be about who's the better man, who can put on a better show for the crowd, or who the better wrestler is. It's going to be about the title, which I love. I'm not keen on Orton utterly embarrassing Del Rio, however, and he needs to rebound big time next week.

Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed reading and reviewing this show. Edge and Christian continues to be a great feud for the Blue Brand, and I can't wait for the match at OTL. The IC tournament is off to a great start, and the tag team division is positioned with a great opportunity to be great. Undertaker and Sheamus was a great segment, and I eagerly await the happenings of next week there. Del Rio and Orton is in just the infant stage the feud, so I won't be too harsh on it. I'll just say I'm not thrilled with how it's started, which I noted before. But this was an excellent show and tremendously fun to review. A

GCB's REVIEW:

Quick review - not much negative to say, man. Great show.

I liked the intensity of Christian in the opening promo - on his own and with Edge. He seems intent on defeating Edge again and then going after the World Championship to finally end his journey to the very top of the WWE. I loved the way you then had Edge playing on Christian's insecurities - it was like Edge was getting more and more personal in an attempt to 'crack' Christian's mindset but he couldn't manage it. Then, when it appeared to be over, you included the Killswitch to further advance their feud a little bit more. A really intelligent and well thought out opening promo, I'm ready and waiting for the next SMACKDOWN and then OVER THE LIMIT already. This should be the last time they meet for now and I think it is to be Christian's big moment.

Mysterio vs. David Hart Smith - had to be a win for Rey-Rey. And it was. Tease of Cody Rhodes as well, I think their feud is far from over. What you do well, Peep, better than anybody else in BT I think, is that you just move things on a little bit at a time. Nothing else happens with Rey and Cody but I feel that you have upped the ante a little bit more there. I fully expect this to end with Cody vs. Rey for the IC Title at the PPV and Cody to win the belt.

Enjoyed the Spanglish in the Orton and Del Rio PPV, little details make your show the best out there in BT. My only worry is that I am not feeling Orton vs. Del Rio as interesting yet. I'm sure it will be but I don't buy this smiling, happy Orton. He's a far better heel than face. A good promo though, I expect Del Rio to win at OTL as he needs a big win to make him.

Usos defeat a local team - what for? Didn't get the point of this one. It seemed like a filler match and it didn't really move anything on. Usos should win, do win, hmmm.

Christian beats Kidd, he reacts badly to it though. Hart Smith joins him in attacking Christian and we have a heel Hart Dynasty - love it. I am betting now that Edge is behind this one.

Swagger is in the tournament over Teddy's head - I hope their feud continues, I am enjoying it so far. Slams Daniel Bryan too who then costs him the IC tournament match vs. Masters. Doesn't help to build Masters as a potential threat to Rey Mysterio or the others in the tournament but it does build the Bryan vs. Swagger angle.

London and Kendrick are back - and they pick up the win over the Tag Champions immediately. They go straight into the title scene, will others join them? We'll see. Usos maybe could get involved soon, we also have the Harts. Tag picture starting to change up a gear, like it.

I thought the Christian and Edge promo to start was excellent but Undertaker and Sheamus was downright superb. Best I've seen. You captured both men perfectly and the smile on Sheamus' face suggests he got what he wanted - a future match with Taker before he retires. Whether this is build for OTL or build for later (SummerSlam?), it was perfectly done and I think Sheamus vs. Taker could be amazing. One of the young guns needs a win over Taker before he finishes - I don't know how far you plan for this BT to go but Sheamus, Cody or Barrett should defeat Taker at Mania.

Big Show vs. Del Rio - hmmm. Show seems irrelevant right now. Orton's handing over of the title was amusing, you just knew it would end with an RKO. Another little move along the story. Good job.

If I was picky, I'd have liked to have seen Randy and/or Edge involved in a match as well and maybe another tag team included against the Usos rather than jobbers just to give their win some credibility. Some of the best promos I've seen though, keep them coming Mr. Peep!

Match #1
Tag Team Match
Brian Kendrick & Paul London vs. Michael Tarver & Husky Harris

The opening contest of Superstars was an exciting and exhilarating tag team bout between an inform pair of 'superheroes' hot on the tails of the WWE Tag Team Champions and a duo of old allies. On commentary, Matt Striker informed the viewers at home that Michael Tarver had been telling anybody who would listen backstage that he was more determined than ever to reach the top of the WWE, Husky noticeably agreeing with this statement also. However, as the more experienced team, London and Kendrick dominated the majority of the contest and, despite he duo of Harris and Tarver getting in some offence, the superheroes killed the match off with some excellent team work nearing the eight minute mark. After a large commotion featuring all four men, a sharp double superkick to the jaw of Husky Harris sent him sprawling back against the ropes and a double dropkick evicted him from the squared circle all together. Michael Tarver then groggily stumbled into the ring only to be quickly assaulted with two boots to the gut and whipped into a corner. Back against the 'buckles, Tarver countered a sprinting Paul London with a back elbow and charged up the corner, only to be struck in the side of the head with an incredible jumping enzuigiri! With the crowd cheering excitably, London scooped up a sitting Tarver and Kendrick got a good hold of his head, to hit a Sliced Bread/Powerbomb combination! A returning Harris was dropkicked straight off the apron as he tried to break up the pin and without interference there is no kicking out!

Winners: Brian Kendrick & Paul London by pinfall (9:01)

Match #2
Singles Match
The Big Show vs. JTG

A much simpler contest followed the tag team match, as the Big Show went one on one with the ever cool JTG. After a quick show of respect with a hand slap before the match, the World's Largest Athlete took control and barely let it leave his gigantic grasp. Although Show seemed rather happy during his entrance and for a majority of the match, after JTG took a sneaky short cut with a thumb to the eye in order to have any chance of getting back in it, the big man lost his cool. Big Show battered JTG with strikes to the rib cage, huge slaps to the exposed chest of the gangster and eventually finished off his opponent with a brutal right hand to the cheek. It took a few moments for Show to regain his composure, once he did he did not hesitate in celebrating his victory with the WWE Universe to a nice ovation.

Winner: Big Show by pinfall (3:57)

Friday Night Smackdown! Preview
Corpus Christi, Texas, 20th May 2011

‘A Destiny Damaged?’

This week the Smackdown train rolls into Corpus Christi, where each and every member of the blue brand will be looking to impress heading into one of the most exciting, fast-paced programmes of the year in Over the Limit. Many members of the WWE Universe are heavily anticipating the World Heavyweight Championship clash between Alberto Del Rio and the challenger Randy Orton, set to take place in Seattle in just two weeks time. Although the Viper praised the young, arrogant champion on last week's edition of Smackdown and drew several comparisons between the two superstars, the Mexican aristocrat would have none of it. After verbally berating his future opponent in front of the entire world, Del Rio did not initially face any consequences from the usually hot headed St Louis native. However, that was only because Orton waited until after the main event to strike. Del Rio emerged victorious from a brutal battle with the Big Show but the Mexican's luck would run out there - disrespecting Orton for the second time in the night resulted in the champion being RKO'd in the middle of the ring. Will Orton continue to embarrass the World Heavyweight Champion? Can he defeat Rey Mysterio in the main event and garner that extra but of momentum going into his first title match in a number of months? How will Alberto Del Rio respond after being shoved on his backside and embarrassed the proud champion in front of the WWE Universe?

In other news, the legendary Undertaker made his first appearance in the WWE since defeating Triple H at Wrestlemania a couple of months ago. Although he managed to vanquish his foe and add yet another soul to his seemingly never ending streak at the largest show of the year, the Deadman was not in high spirits on his return. A lowly Phenom informed the WWE Universe that on that fateful day in Georgia, his body was badly damaged and he had never felt weaker after being assisted to the back by medical staff. Before 'Taker could go on however, he was interrupted by the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus and the big mouthed Irishman did not hesitate in kicking the future WWE Hall of Famer when he was down. Sheamus felt that if the Undertaker did decide to leave the WWE, it was only because he could not compete with the future of the industry, namely the former WWE Champion standing before him. But it was what came next that shocked the majority of the audience watching; Sheamus easily fended off an advancing Undertaker and watched with glee as the legendary figure soon disappeared into the darkness. Has the Undertaker left the WWE permanently, and what will this do to the already massive ego of Sheamus?

The already raging feud between former best friends Edge and Christian continued last week on Smackdown with an epic war of words. Captain Charisma valiantly exclaimed that he will once again have Edge's number at Over the Limit because he, knowing Edge better than anybody else, has the Rated R Superstar's game-plan all figured out. Edge attempted to back up his own claim but he was over powered by Christian, his seemingly new attitude pushing him on, who proceeded drove his nemesis' head directly into the canvas with a Killswitch, adding injury to insult. Knowing Edge, he will have something up his sleeve to payback his most hated of rivals, but will Christian be able to anticipate this also? Another man on the blue brand who has seen a sudden change in attitude is also one of its newest - Daniel Bryan. Bryan paid back his new rival Jack Swagger in full, costing Swagger his match with a sharp round house kick to the head after the All American American did the same to him just seven days earlier. Jack claims that men such as Daniel Bryan, 'talentless pushovers', do not belong on Smackdown - but has the jealously bug just bit the former World Heavyweight Champion after praise from superstars and staff members alike poured in for the American Dragon?

Plus, the Intercontinental Championship Tournament continues with two more opening round matches set to take place on this week's show. One of those men set for action this week is Cody Rhodes, who will be desperate to score the victory as a place in the finals could possibly signal another date with Rey Mysterio alongside a shot at a title belt he longs to hold in his demented grasp. Also, after seemingly earning a championship match against Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel by defeating them last week, Paul London and Brian Kendrick will be watching intently as the WWE Tag Team Champions go into battle with the Usos. Speaking of tag teams, the Hart Dynasty shocked the world by making their re-debut last week and attacking an already enraged Captain Charisma. On Smackdown, we will hear from the Canadian pair before they wrestle against Christian and a partner of his choosing. Throughout the week, rumours have been swirling as to the identity of a new star to debut on Smackdown in the near future. Will the man make his debut on tonight's show, will he give an exclusive interview or will he remain backstage for the time being?

Confirmed for Smackdown!

Sheamus will be in action

Friday Night Smackdown!
Corpus Christi, Texas, 20th May 2011

'A Destiny Damaged?'

Following a quick recap of last week’s hectic episode in video form, the camera emerges upon the scene of thousands of excited fans observing an array of blue fireworks. With the majority of the pyrotechnics now gone Smackdown’s theme song, courtesy of Green Day, begins to play around the arena. After focusing on a few more rowdy Texan fans the camera then sets on the announce desk where Josh Matthews, Matt Striker and Booker T are waiting expectantly.

Josh Matthews: Hello and welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of the most entertaining show on Friday nights. Tonight Smackdown emanates from Corpus Christi, Texas and a plethora of incredible match-ups await us on the road to Over the Limit which is set to air in just two short weeks.

Booker T: And things have certainly been heating up between ‘da World Heavyweight Champion and his challenger over ‘da past couple of weeks on Smackdown in time for their match-up at Over ‘da Limit. ‘Da proud and pompous Mexican Aristocrat and ‘da championship that he holds so dearly around his waist look to be in more danger than ever before when he goes into battle with ‘da Viper Randy Orton in Seattle.

Matt Striker: That’s very true Booker but don’t forget that we have never seen a champion like Alberto Del Rio in a long, long time – he will do absolutely anything in his power to win and retain his championship. And not only that, Orton himself faces a big challenge in our main event later tonight in the form of the legendary luchador Rey Mysterio.

Josh Matthews: Speaking of Mysterio, Rey is already among the men to advance into the semi finals in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament alongside the Masterpiece, Chris Masters. Tonight we will learn the identity of the two other men who will be joining them and taking one step further towards competing for the one of the most prestigious championships in WWE history, the vacant Intercontinental Championship.

Booker T: But it ain’t all good news after last week’s show as you very well know guys. We may have seen ‘da last of ‘da force known as ‘da Undertaker here in ‘da WWE.

Matt Striker: And I have been told by several Smackdown superstars that backstage the Celtic Warrior Sheamus hasn’t shut up about it all week...

*The Rage*

With a loud round of cheers and applause, the WWE Universe in Corpus Christi welcomes the form of Daniel Bryan standing on the stage with open arms. A determined glint in his eyes; the submission specialist skips nimbly down the ramp before skidding to a halt besides the ring and offering a number of high fives to nearby fans. Wearing a baggy crimson tracksuit jacket to match his red and white tights, Bryan waits in the centre of the ring, cracking his knuckles and rubbing his shaven face with the palm of his hand.

*In the Middle of It Now*

To a much less favourable response from the Texan crowd, Curt Hawkins emerges from behind the curtain looking as though he could not care less. The Long Island Loner stalks towards the ring with a sliver of disdain on his face as he glances at the fans that dare to shout abuse from their seats behind the safety of the security barrier. As he slips through the ropes, Matt Striker comments that Hawkins’ style truly reflects his attitude towards life and his style in the ring; a plain dark shirt with a hood (placed squarely over his blonde hair) underneath a battered, sleeveless leather jacket that compliments his dark blue wrestling attire. With both competitors staring at one another from opposite corners, the referee doesn’t waste any time in calling for the bell.

Match #1
Intercontinental Championship Tournament Match (Opening Round)
Daniel Bryan vs. Curt Hawkins

Both of the up and coming stars in the opening match put on an incredible showing to get Smackdown off to an exciting, fast paced start. Combining his usual mix of incredible strikes, submissions and suplexes to combat the unorthodox style of one Curt Hawkins, Daniel Bryan had the full support of the crowd behind throughout the contest. However, Hawkins was not to be outdone by his opponent as he almost had the win within his grasp on a couple of notable occasions; including countering an attempted LeBelle Lock directly into the vicious Recluse Abuse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsMlzlr1E2E) only to gain a two count. It was also at this point in the match in which Hawkins managed to take control of Bryan and keep it for a couple of key minutes. By wearing Bryan down with everything he had in his arsenal including headlocks, neckbreakers, stomps and brutal punches, Hawkins was able to keep Bryan planted squarely on the mat and thus avoid any of the former United States Champion’s snapping offence. However, with the crowd valiantly chanting his name Bryan eventually slipped out of a tight side headlock, tripping Hawkins to the canvas in the process, and practically collapsed against the nearest corner. Not missing a beat and with a sly grin cracking across his face, Hawkins sauntered towards the turnbuckles and unloaded a sharp kick to his opponent’s gut, doubling him over instantly. But what Hawkins did next was not his wisest move so far; arrogantly slapping Bryan over and over across the back of the head in order to wake him up from his slight slumber in the corner. The official was forced to intervene and drag Hawkins back to the centre of the squared circle just in time to view Bryan lift his head up – with absolute fire burning in his eyes!

The crowd exploded as Bryan thundered out of the corner and tackled Hawkins to the mat before putting together a string of offensive manoeuvres that left his adversary stumbling and leaving him rolling with momentum. Next, it was Bryan’s turn to ascend a corner and the moment that Hawkins peeled himself off the canvas he had the air blasted out of his chest with an incredible, hard-hitting missile dropkick. Without going for a cover, without even waiting for Curt to get to his feet, Bryan lifted the woozy Long Islander off the mat by his tights and wrapped his arms around his waist, executing a crunching German suplex. Another busting suplex of the Bavarian kind followed and after dragging Hawkins up for the third straight time, Bryan glanced towards the nearest turnbuckle with his arms still clasped around the middle of his opponent. The crowd cheered accordingly and Bryan did not need any more instruction as he launched Hawkins backwards and slammed him into the three ‘buckles with vicious torque! And this time, it appeared to be all over for Curt Hawkins as he stumbled along the floor and could only watch as his opponent let out a heavy battle cry before dropping down to the canvas, grabbed his arm in his own and attempted to lock in his most trusty submission manoeuvre. However, a sudden rush of movement along the ramp and a bump in sound across the first few rows of the arena signalled the arrival of Jack Swagger, who leapt heavily onto the apron and began to shout abuse at his recent rival. However, quick as a flash, Bryan sprung off the canvas and quickly bundled Swagger off the apron with a sharp forearm to the jaw before immediately turning back to the task at hand behind him – Curt Hawkins. Hawkins was then tackled harshly to the mat by D-Bryan and he soon had forearm shot after forearm shot raining down upon his vulnerable face. After several moments of continuous punishment from the former United States Champion upon Hawkins, the official was forced to drag Bryan back towards the ropes so he could check on the condition of the Long Island native. It was at this moment that Swagger took his second attempt of the night to screw Bryan out of a victory and, with the referee full attention placed squarely on the groggy Hawkins, he yanked Bryan by the back of his head and hotshotted him off the top rope. The All American American rapidly made his exit back up the ramp and watched with absolute glee from the stage as Daniel Bryan stumbled back into the grasp of his opponent and fell victim to the shattering Taste of Pain facebuster. Hawkins practically fell into a cover on Bryan and with the hook of a leg he had the victory within three seconds.

Winner: Curt Hawkins by pinfall (8:54)

The crowd erupts in boos and jeers towards Hawkins as he is lifted off the mat with the assistance of the official and then has his hand raised towards the sky. The Long Island Loner woozily slips through the ropes and snatches his leather jacket from a stage hand, slips it on and slowly wanders to the side of the ramp and departs from the arena via that exit. The final shot before the camera moves away from the scene is of a delighted Swagger grinning madly as he watches Daniel Bryan struggle to get to his feet.

***

The scene changes suddenly but the reaction of the WWE Universe certainly doesn’t, and if anything the heat increases as Ricardo Rodriguez takes central position in the shot of the camera. Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer is steadily polishing the front plate of the World Heavyweight Championship upon a plush stand as the champion himself watches on with a dazed look in his eyes, the boos and jeers rising just at the sight of him. While his slimy employee works away, Del Rio sinks lower into a plush leather couch, swirls the brandy around in his glass and glances distractedly around the incredible locker-room in which he is seated.

Alberto Del Rio: Did ‘ju hear those peasants laughing at me Ricardo? Did ‘ju see the mocking in ‘der eyes?

Ricardo turns around to face his employer and nods sombrely while Del Rio remains still, almost disbelieving of what is coming out of his own mouth.

Alberto Del Rio: How dare he and how dare they even disrespect me in the slightest. Surely he listened to what I told him last week; surely he took that all in? I am the World Heavyweight Champion and I am the man that everybody on the entire brand looks up to, is it not the gusanito’s duty to respect me and to listen to what I have to say just like everybody else? He truly thinks he is better than me, he truly believes that...

More heat resonates in the background from the Corpus Christi crowd but it does not seem to get to the world champion, he simply takes a large swig from the glass in his hand. Ricardo Rodriguez appears to reflect the emotions of his employer and he wears a deep look of sorrow as he wipes the polish off of the title belt in front of him with a cloth.

Alberto Del Rio: ‘Ju know what? I think I need some air...

And with that Del Rio storms from his own locker-room, snatching his title belt from its stand as he goes and leaving a disgruntled Rodriguez alone in the luxurious abode. With a quick glance down the hallway to see if Del Rio has truly left the vicinity, Ricardo sighs deeply before resuming his duties.

*Commercial*

The programme returns with the sight of Todd Grisham standing proudly before the Smackdown interview pit, a microphone in hand and a broad smile upon his face.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and gentlemen please welcome my guest at this time, he is the All American American – Jack Swagger.

A plethora of boos and jeers instantly meets the former world champion as he slowly but surely walks into the shot and patronizingly pats Grisham on the shoulder. Swagger wipes some sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand before positioning himself to the side of Grisham so that the interrogation from the eager young interviewer can begin.

Todd Grisham: Jack, for the second time in just three weeks you stopped Daniel Bryan from earning a victory. The majority of the WWE Universe and many members of the Smackdown locker-room feel that your attacks on Bryan have been totally unjustified. What is going through your head right now? Why the constant attacks?

Jack Swagger: What’s going through my head?

The All American American lets out a great sigh as he looks into the distance before another giant grin cracks across his face, Grisham’s microphone quickly returning to his mouth.

Jack Swagger: Relief Todd. Relief. Because when I was eliminated from the Intercontinental Championship Tournament that I had worked so hard to get into due to Daniel Bryan kicking me in the side of the head, I felt that vengeance was, well, justified. And you know what they say about payback, don’t ‘ya Todd?

A trickle of heat from the arena can be heard before the former world champion continues.

Jack Swagger: Daniel Bryan has gotten everything that was coming to him, he has gotten everything that he deserved for what he dared to do to me. And you know, it looks like Teddy Long has once again backed the wrong horse because (Swagger whips out the air quotations once again) ‘one of the greatest wrestlers in the company’ has yet to win a single match since joining Smackdown - my brand.

Todd Grisham: Yes, but isn’t that only bec-

Just as Todd goes to interrupt and point out the obvious, Swagger swipes the microphone back towards his face with a sly grin.

Jack Swagger: Listen, I am only trying to do what is best for business and, even though we don’t get along on a (here comes those air quotations) ‘personal’ level, I have offered as much as my expertise as I possibly can to our esteemed general manager Teddy Long. And honestly I find it pretty disgusting that Mr. Long has yet to appreciate my assistance in helping to usher Smackdown into a new golden age that it deserves. But if I continue to be ignored, well let’s just say I won’t hesitate in forcibly removing anybody who does not fit into that new era. For example, what I did earlier tonight to Da-

Before Swagger can continue his tirade, a loud yell in the background forces him to push the microphone away from his face and turn to the source of the noise – (speak of the devil) an enraged Daniel Bryan. The former United States Champion comes into the shot only to barge into Swagger with a high knee to the chest which slams him into the back of the interview pit with vicious force. Bryan then proceeds to unload with forearms to his enemies’ skull before scrapping him up off the concrete and hurling him back first into a nearby supply box, Jack’s lower back cracking into the equipment with a loud thud. With the crowd absolutely loving what they are seeing back in the arena, they throw up a massive cheer as Bryan lets out a bloodcurdling war cry before smashing Swagger across the cheek with a brutal roundhouse kick, dropping him like a bad habit. Swagger hopelessly tries to defend himself from any more damage but Bryan overpowers him on the ground, yanks on his right arm and locks in the LeBelle Lock! Bryan pulls back on his rival’s face mercilessly for several moments and all Swagger can do is yell out in pain and limply tap the concrete in submission. Only after the All American American is within an inch of falling unconscious does Bryan let go of his hold upon Swagger and begin to make his exit away but not after quickly turning back to his downed nemesis, fury in his face.

Daniel Bryan: Talentless pushover, huh!? Talentless pushover!? Could a talentless pushover make you tap out?!

And, to a big pop, Bryan strays from the shot to leave a moaning, hurt Swagger face first on the floor.

***

*Get Up*

A large roar of approval meets the Uso twins as they saunter out from behind the curtain and bounce past the stage and down the ramp, the pair filled with energy. Jimmy and Jey bump knuckles a couple of feet from the ring apron and let out a number of screeching cheers before they enter the ring from opposite sides. The two then sprint to the nearest corners to them and jump onto the second turnbuckles, posing to the WWE Universe to a largely positive response.

*Black or White*

Next, it is Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel who make their entrance but it is to a much harsher reaction than the Uso twins received from the Corpus Christi crowd. The One Man Rock Band, Heath Slater leads the way and doesn’t hesitate in showing off the title belt hanging over his right shoulder to each and every member of the WWE Universe that he passes down the ramp. Following a number of feet behind, Justin Gabriel self consciously taps the bronze plated belt around his waist a number of times as he stares up, assessing, his opponents for the night in the centre of the ring. The WWE Tag Team Champions slip through the ropes and hand their title belts over to the referee and, after Slater gloats a bit towards the Usos, each team is sent to their respective corner by the match official.

Match #2
Tag Team Match (Non-Title)
Jimmy & Jey Uso vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel

The two young teams in the Usos and the former Corre members Slater and Gabriel put on one hell of a tag team match, full of action, excitement and hard hitting offence. It was Jimmy and Jey who gained the momentum first, overwhelming their opponents with a mix of unique manoeuvres and pure energy during the beginning of the match-up. With the crowd supporting their every move, the Samoan twins initially left the WWE Tag Team Champions on the back foot and it wasn’t until a major mistake from Jimmy Uso were Slater and Gabriel able to get back into the contest. The former members of the Corre then proceeded to ground and pound a noticeably hurt and shaken Jimmy for several minutes. Although they wrestled a near perfect tag team match for the majority by keeping one of their opponents on their side of the ring, there was noticeable tension between the champions throughout the contest. Slater and Gabriel did not partake in a single double team manoeuvre, instead preferring to do some damage, drag their prey to their friendly corner and tag out without speaking or even making eye contact with the other. However, all good things must come to an end and this was certainly true for the tag team champions as Jimmy avoided a spectacular springboard moonsault from Justin Gabriel, shoved Heath Slater off the apron and slapped his eager partner’s hand. Jey certainly took advantage of the tag and went to town on the weary South African, hitting him with clotheslines, spinning forearms and a devastating Samoan Wrecking Ball as Gabriel sat in the corner, exhausted. Although a tag was made to Slater, the tag team champions could not stop the rampaging Samoan entirely and the two would go on to exchange moves and close pinfalls.

In the closing moments of the contest, Slater was whipped hard into the corner by Jey and the Samoan charged, sprung through the air and, as Slater dodged under the contact, smashed chest first into the corner! Jey stumbled backwards clutching his abdomen and soon had his head caught under the wing of the One Man Rock Band who crunched him into the canvas with the A-Minor DDT! Heath rolled into the cover and hooked both legs with a devilish grin upon his face, only to look up at the match official to be told that he isn’t the legal man – Gabriel made the slightest of blind tags a moment before Slater jumped out of the corner! The South African is already perched delicately on the top turnbuckle when Slater turns around, looking down at a groggy Jey and with nothing but a 450 Splash in his mind. However, Slater wouldn’t get out of the way to allow that to happen and instead gave his tag team partner a piece of his mind for several moments. This reprieve then allowed Jimmy to sprint into the ring and shove Slater straight into his fellow champion, crotching him on the top turnbuckle! Slater was quickly disposed of by a jumping heel kick and Jimmy did not waste any time as he watched the sly red head roll around on the outside in considerable pain. A thunderous superplex took Gabriel down to the canvas and the legal man in Jey Uso, after being dragged to his feet by his brother, ascended the corner himself. After a fierce cry to the WWE Universe, Jey leapt through the air and crashed down onto the chest of his opponent, immediately hooked a leg and soon earned the three count.

Winners: Jimmy & Jey Uso by pinfall (10:02)

To a massive ovation, the Usos have their hands raised by the referee and the pair couldn’t look any happier with their big win. The twins quickly exit the ring, embrace and then trek back up the ramp, motioning with their fingers around their waists that they are going to be the next tag team champions. Meanwhile, Gabriel remains seated on the mat with a hand clasped to his sore chest and valiantly ignores his tag team partner as he attempts to apologise over and over again.

Quick, sharp shots of what appears to be a darkened gym, or perhaps a dojo intertwine with shots of total darkness as a low, heavily accented voice speaks.

?: Very soon, I arrive on Smackdown. And with my arrival I plan on brining the vigilance, the discipline and the aggression of my past along with me.

A long, deliberate pause is made as a flickering shot of a battered wrestling ring is shown within the gym.

?: And once I’ve arrived, I guarantee that a new star will be forged in the fires of the greatest stage in the world, a stage I will rightfully rule. All the broken, bruised and bloodied bodies that I leave in my wake will be a testament to that.

Another flickering shot of the gym as the presumed speaker steps through the ropes and stands in the middle of the ring.

We then cut to a regular locker room, fitted out with everything you would expect; bags, boots, towels and general clutter. The camera pans out slightly and the crowd absolutely explodes as Randy Orton is shown sitting on a bench with his hand resting on his chest, a trainer strapping his left knee. A bit of a scuffle can be heard in the background and the WWE Universe in Corpus Christi pop once again for Chris Masters as he shuffles into the shot, exchanges a few words with Orton, slaps hands with the number one contender and then exits the room. Just moments later, the trainer appears to have finished strapping the former world champion’s left peg.

Trainer: That should do it Randy, good luck for your match and make sure you give Del Rio hell at Over the Limit.

Orton offers the trainer a rare smile and a nod of the head as the audience cheers.

Trainer: But, I’ve got to ask, and a lot of the guys have been wondering as well, why did you take that barrage from Del Rio, how didn’t you snap?

The crowd remains silence as Orton stares straight into the eyes of the trainer, the WWE employee visibly flinching under the Viper’s gaze. Slowly, Orton’s eyes soften and he begins to speak.

Randy Orton: You know what? I’ve been asking myself that same question all week. But I’m afraid I made a promise to a very special person that I would change my ways when I arrived here on Smackdown; she felt that perhaps a change in scenery could bring about a change in attitude from me as well. And it’s a promise that I have no intention of breaking – Del Rio can run his mouth all he wants, but I have been in the WWE a long, long time now and I’ve seen everything there is to see and I’ve heard everything there is to hear.

The trainer watches on intently as Orton continues; seemingly thinking out loud.

Randy Orton: In the annals of WWE history, I don’t just want to just be known as the Legend Killer or as the Viper; I want to be known as one of the greatest superstars of all time. I want my name to go down in history on the same level as men such as Bret Hart and Steve Austin. And to do that, I need to shed my image of old; I need to conduct all of my business in the middle of the ring and not in locker rooms, not in parking lots but between those ropes and on that canvas. I need to focus not on petty feuds, but championships, on Royal Rumbles and on main eventing the biggest show on the whole damn world in Wrestlemania.

A small cheer for Orton as he rubs his chin.

Randy Orton: I admire all that Alberto Del Rio has done since he arrived here in the WWE, but I have no intention of letting him defeat me at Over the Limit. I want, no, I must capture the World Heavyweight Championship once again because Smackdown needs a true leader, a man who can lead this brand onto bigger and better things than ever before. In two weeks in Seattle, Washington Del Rio’s destiny comes to an abrupt end and I can promise everybody that.

With the trainer making his exit from the scene, Orton resumes his meditation in the cluttered lock room as the crowd hurl their full support behind him with cheers and applause.

With Smackdown back on the air, Chavo Guerrero is already standing in the centre of the ring in his bandana and poncho and with *Chavito Ardiente* playing in the background. The Mexican legend raises his hands into the air towards the people in attendance, raising a mixed albeit fairly weak reaction from the Corpus Christi faithful.

IT’S A SHAME THAT THEY LOST THEIR HEAD, A CARELESS MAN COULD WIND UP DEAD!

*Written In My Face*

To a large chorus and boos and jeers Sheamus saunters out from behind the curtain, emitting a large war cry and with his massive arms raised out to the side. A big grin soon sets itself upon the Irishman’s face as he strolls down the ramp and the former WWE Champion can be heard by a nearby camera boldly bragging that ‘he ain’t coming back because of me’. Sheamus stalks up the steel steps and finally sets his focus fully upon his opponent for the night in Chavo Guerrero, who bares his teeth and awaits the battle to come.

Match #3
Singles Match
Chavo Guerrero vs. Sheamus

To be frank – Chavo never stood a chance against the Irish monster known as Sheamus. Guerrero valiantly attempted to slow down his opponent’s momentum and garnered a few more cheers than what he received during his entrance for his efforts. However, it was all in vain as Sheamus steamrolled the Mexican superstar and appeared to just to be playing with his opponent once he gained control. Near the conclusion of the contest, with his back pressed against a corner, Chavo countered a charging Sheamus with a sharp boot to the side of the head. With the crowd cheering the rare strike on the Irishman, Chavo swiftly leapt to the second rope, jumped out at his opponent and wrapped his arm around Sheamus’ neck for a tornado DDT. Although as soon as Chavo spun his body to garner some momentum, he was pushed to the opposite side of the ring by Sheamus and the moment he turned back around he walked straight into with a vicious Brogue Kick! Sheamus fell into a cover without bothering to hook a leg, but just as the referee’s hand went to clap the mat for a third succession time he pulled up Chavo’s shoulder to keep the match going. To massive heat Sheamus peeled Guerrero off the canvas, lifted him into a crucifix with a cruel grin then promptly dumped his opponent onto the back of his neck with the Celtic Cross! Finally, Sheamus laid across the chest of Chavo and allowed the match official to finally end the punishment.

Winner: Sheamus by pinfall (4:12)

After he refuses to have his hand raised by the official, Sheamus exits the ring and makes his way straight back up the ramp with a noticeable grin upon his mug. After reaching the stage the Irishman does not bother to turn back around to face the crowd, who boo him aggressively, but instead raises one closed fist into the air – mocking the Undertaker once again before he slips through the curtain.

After cutting away from a scene of the arena we settle on a scene of the Hart Dynasty, smarmy grins on their faces as they chat to someone out of the shot. The people in attendance unload heat upon the former fan favourites and their boos just increases as the camera pans out – to reveal that the former tag team champions are speaking to none other than Edge. The Rated R Superstar does not seem his usual cocky self but he still appears to be listening intently to whatever is coming out of Tyson Kidd’s big mouth. Suddenly, Edge cuts off the Calgary Kid with a raise of his hand and pats him on the shoulder, a proud glint visible in his eye as he looks over the duo.

Edge: Well, it’s been great talking to you guys again but I’ve got to go. I’d wish you luck but there is no doubt in my mind that you, the greatest tag team in the WWE right now, will pull out the victory in your match tonight.

Kidd and Smith exchange arrogant looks as Edge shakes the smaller man’s hand first and then reaches out for Smiths.

Edge: I’m glad you made the right choice David.

Smith shakes the Rated R Superstar’s hand enthusiastically as the crowd jeer even more. Edge then quickly departs the scene as the Harts begin to walk down a hallway towards the ring with Smackdown’s theme song playing loudly in the background, the show heading to another break.

*New Foundation*

Both members of the Hart Dynasty step out onto the stage in matching pin and black attire and pose in front of the audience to vicious boos and jeers. The pair saunter down the ramp and into the ring looking very pleased with themselves and once they step through the ropes, Kidd walks towards the announce desk and demands a microphone be given to him immediately. The Calgary Kid hands the device over to his tag team partner and the duo then proceed to stand tall in the centre of the squared circle, simply waiting for the heat to die down so that Smith can begin speaking.

David Hart Smith: I’ve got something to get off my chest but I am telling you now I am going to spend as little time as I can talking to you people, so you had better listen and you had better listen well.

Instant heat for the Canadian star and Smith’s rather happy expression from earlier has disappeared, apparently just speaking to the WWE universe is enough to make him unhappy.

David Hart Smith: Since last week every time I left my house, every time I logged onto a computer I was bombarded with questions and lewd comments from you people. Well, I am going to answer those questions right here, right now in front of the entire WWE Universe so each and every single one of you can leave me alone. Why? Why would I join a man who, only six months prior, kicked me squarely in the side of the head? It’s simple, maybe not for some of you here in Corpus Christi, but it certainly is for me. Purely, I want to be at the top of this company, I want title belts around my waist and I want more money in my pocket.

More boos trickle down on Smith as his monologue continues, Tyson grinning slightly beside him.

David Hart Smith: I’m not a stupid man, I could see that my career here in the WWE was going nowhere and I needed to change something. So last week I decided not to waste a single second more at the bottom of the pile, I chose once again to team with Tyson Kidd to reform the greatest duo of the modern era in the Hart Dynasty and I promise to never, ever return to that dark, dark place again. Pandering to you people got me nowhere and despite everything you might believe, I have finally surrounded myself with company that will help me to forge the dynasty that I deserve.

More heat for Smith as he looks across the crowd with disdain plastered across his face before passing the microphone across to his grinning partner.

Tyson Kidd: Ladies and gentleman please welcome back the tag team that is going to revolutionize Smackdown; an honest, pure and wholesome team and one that could only hail from the great land of Canada – the Hart Dynasty.

Tyson arrogantly tosses the microphone to the side of the ring and then crouches down in front of his stony faced partner, posing in front of a jeering audience with a grin on his face before...

GO!

*Just Close Your Eyes*

The theme music of Captain Charisma roars around the arena to a massive ovation and Christian comes storming through the curtain with his face set in a snarl and his usual grin long gone. Without slapping a single fan’s hands along the ramp, Christian advances to stand just a couple of feet from the ring apron – his eyes set harshly upon the duo standing in the ring. Now standing slightly behind the large figure of David Hart Smith, Kidd cheekily grins at the man he attacked from behind last week but as he does so, Christian’s face softens slightly as he turns and presents his tag team partner for the night.

*Masterpiece*

Both members of the Hart Dynasty stumble backwards a little as they watch Chris Masters saunter out in front of the WWE Universe and pose on the ramp as white shots of pyro explode all around him, illuminating his chiselled features for all to see. The inform juggernaut powers down the ramp to meet with his partner, a man who chose him specifically for the task at hand, and together they spring into the squared circle. Kidd and Smith quickly scatter to the outside, allowing the two popular stars in the centre of the ring to soak in the adulation of their fans.

Match #4
Tag Team Match
The Hart Dynasty vs. Christian & Chris Masters

Although spectacular superstars on their own, Christian and Masters could not overcome the chemistry of the former tag team champions in the Hart Dynasty, who looked as though they hadn’t spent a single day apart as a unit. Masters took it his opponents early and nearly overwhelmed the Canadian pair with his incredible power but a distraction from a darting Tyson Kidd allowed Smith to clobber the Masterpiece in the back of the head with a clothesline, killing his momentum in an instance. Once Christian entered the fray a small while later his new found aggression almost got him the win by way of pinfall after a tornado DDT on Tyson and the lose, by disqualification, after he almost spent a five count pounding the Calgary Kid in the corner with punches. Smith attempted to interfere and save his partner from any further pain but Masters, like a bull, charged across the ring and bundled the Canadian through the ropes and out of the ring, both men landing hard on the outside with an audible thud. Distracted by the commotion to his side, Christian just managed to duck a spinning kick from a recovered Tyson Kidd and then proceeded to hook the young man’s arms behind his back, preparing for the Killlswitch. However, as Christian was just a moment away from dropping Kidd onto his face, he noticed Edge (dressed in street clothes) wandering down the ramp towards the ring, a scowl on his face. Tossing Tyson aside, Christian began to yell at his former best friend but oddly, the Rated R Superstar ignored him and continue on his path, walking around the ring towards the announce table. Captain Charisma adjusted his focus back on Kidd and hooked his arms up once more but a loud bang to his right caused Christian to snap his neck towards the cause of the noise – Edge slammed the canvas with both of his hands. With Booker on commentary calling for Edge to back away, the former world champion did exactly so to watch Christian being cracked in the back of the head with an elbow and then rolled up by Tyson Kidd, the young man’s hands full of tights for the entire referee’s three count.

Winners: The Hart Dynasty by pinfall (9:02)

Kidd exits the ring immediately after the bell rings and puts an arm around his partner, helping the groggy Smith up the ramp where they proceed to gloat over their victory to the nearest camera with smiles flashing and their arms raised high into the air. Edge is still leaning against the canvas staring intently at a downed Christian, noticeably dazed from the elbow shot from Kidd, and upon closer inspection it appears that he grabbed both a microphone and a steel chair from the time keeper’s desk. The Rated R Superstar swiftly slides into the ring and stands over Christian, the abundance of grimy blonde hair around his face making the Canadian look like a lion standing over his wounded prey.

Edge: You just don’t understand Christian, you still don’t get it do you?

Although the crowd begs him not to Christian slowly drags himself up to his feet but the moment he looks stable, Edge clubs his former friend in the back of the neck with a forearm.

Edge: I don’t need cheap shots.

The crowd desperately jeers the heelish Canadian but Edge seems immune to the negative noise, instead turning his eyes upon Chris Masters. The juggernaut stumbles into the ring, he himself also badly hurt from his battle with DH Smith on the outside, to stop any further damage on Captain Charisma but – CRACK! – he receives a vicious chair shot to the front of the face. Masters drops like a bag of spuds; out cold before he even hits the canvas.

Edge: I don’t need weapons.

Christian rises slowly up once more but he is battered in the lower back with a shot from the steel chair in Edge’s hands, the impact sounding around the arena.

Edge: And I don’t need to cost you matches time and time again.

Edge pauses and for a single moment he takes his glance away from his rival, looking around at the WWE Universe who boo him accordingly.

Edge: I do those things because I can; I do those things because I want to. As much as it pains me to say out loud, you beat me Christian and not only did you beat me, you pinned my shoulders to the mat for a three count. Not many men in the entire WWE have done this but you jostled and you schemed your way onto that prestigious list. But I have guaranteed to myself that come Over the Limit in just two weeks time, lightning will definitely not strike twice because I will strike you down and defeat you in the middle of the ring for taking away from me what is truly mine.

Christian, who had been down on all fours, suddenly pops up after playing possum for several minutes and launches a strike at his nemesis. However, Edge ducks under the contact, drops his microphone and swings his steel chair like bat, slamming the weapon into the side of Christian’s skull. Just moments after Captain Charisma hits the canvas, Edge slides under the bottom rope and makes his exit to thunderous jeers, slipping through the curtain with his head facing down towards the ground.

The rather glum face of Theodore Long comes into view of the camera and he appears to be in his office, listening intently to the other end of the mobile phone in his hand. Several photographs line the walls behind the general manager’s desk, including captures of Long shaking hands or posing next to former champions and superstars of Smackdown. John Cena, Triple H, Batista and Rey Mysterio take pride of place alongside a recent snap of Teddy next to a beaming Daniel Bryan.

Theodore Long: Yes, yes I understand, I have already taken care of it sir. In two weeks time at Over the Limit Daniel Bryan and Jack Swagger are going to settle their petty feud in the ring. I know, the whole ordeal between the two has truly been very disappointing for the entire WWE Universe and Smackdown as a whole. I mean Daniel Bryan should be competing for championships; he should be wrestling the best-

The other end of the line seems to cut Teddy off, but the general manager takes it all in his stride and leans back on his chair, listening once again.

Theodore Long: Oh yes, the same could be said for Swagger as well, sir. But, I’m sure if he hadn’t been knocked unconscious earlier tonight he would be in here right now, complaining for all he is worth!

Teddy’s momentary chuckle is cut off immediately as the other end of the line speaks.

Theodore Long: No sir, I shouldn’t joke about that. What Daniel did certainly wasn’t funny in the slightest. (A slight pause) Well if you must, I’ll let you go. Great talking to yo-

Long looks oddly at his phone as it appears he was cut off but he doesn’t have much time to mull over the thought as someone barges into his office.Boos meet the sight of Alberto Del Rio as he saunters into the room and places the World Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder with a scowl on his face.

Alberto Del Rio: Teddy, I want ‘ju to give me a match right now.

Theodore Long: And why on earth would you want a match Alberto?

Del Rio just scowls even harder.

Alberto Del Rio: It should not matter to ‘ju, I want a match.

Theodore Long: Well I’m sorry Alberto, but there isn’t enough time left in the show for you to compete because I have already organised two very important matches for later in the evening and they have been organised for a long time now.

Theodore Long: I’m sorry Alberto, but I am not going to say it again. I promise that I will go out of my way to organise a match-up for you next week but as of right now, I am a very busy man and I would appreciate if you left my office and allowed me to continue my work.

Del Rio’s nostrils flares and his eyes alight with rage but the Mexican, despite taking a step forward, does not continue the issue and instead storms from the room to allow his general manager to return to the paperwork sitting on his desk.

*Born to Win*

A respectable cheer meets the sight of Evan Bourne as he energetically sprints down the stage and high fives as many fan’s hands as he can alongside the ramp. Bourne flies into the squared circle in an instant and proceeds to pose on two of the four turnbuckles available; a peace sign lifted towards the sky and a gleaming grin spread across the youngster’s face.

WOOOAAAHHH!

*Smoke and Darkness*

The mood of the entire arena shifts rapidly as Cody Rhodes slowly slips through the curtain and steps out onto the stage. Now without a hood attached to his black jacket, the grotesque visage of Rhodes is exposed for all to see as is the look of pure disgust upon Cody’s face as he stares from members of the WWE Universe shouting abuse to Evan Bourne in the middle of the ring. More jeers and boos meet Rhodes as he slowly steps up the steel steps and places his feet onto canvas, removes his jacket swiftly and then stands directly opposite a visibly shaken Bourne.

Match #5
Intercontinental Championship Tournament Match (Opening Round)
Evan Bourne vs. Cody Rhodes

Although Bourne and Rhodes put on an enthralling contest filled with near falls, fast paced action and innovative counters, it never looked as though the grotesque superstar in Rhodes was going to be vanquished by his brave opponent. The former member of Legacy simply look unstoppable throughout the contest and had his sights sharply set upon earning the victory and advancing one step further towards facing off against his most hated of enemies on pay-per-view. Bourne tried valiantly to halt his opponent’s momentum with sharp kicks and high flying manoeuvres but no matter what the St Louis native did; Cody just seemed to be one step ahead. Nearing the conclusion of the match-up and with the pace of the contest at a mind blowing high thanks to Evan Bourne, the duo in the ring strung together an impressive set of counters.

After cracking Rhodes in the protective mask with his heel, Bourne clambered up the turnbuckle almost instantly and launched himself towards his kneeling opponent with a beautiful moonsault. Although Rhodes ducked under the impact and clambered against the ropes Evan Bourne still managed to land on his feet in an incredible display of athleticism! But the crowd’s ecstasy would last just a single moment as Rhodes scooped up his much smaller adversary over his shoulders for the Alabama Slam – only for Bourne to shift his weight and flip Rhodes inside out, dumping him onto his shoulders with a sunset-flip powerbomb. Bourne tried desperately to hold down his opponent’s shoulders for a three count but his grip was broken at two and the moment it was Rhode sprung up out of the pinfall attempt, bounced off the second rope and blasted Bourne in the cheek with the Beautiful Disaster kick. The master of the Air Bourne stumbled, almost out on his feet, straight into the grip of Cody Rhodes who proceeded to drive his opponent’s face into the canvas with vicious torque – executing the Cross Rhodes perfectly. Rhodes then hooked a leg and watched with sick glee as the referee pounded the mat for a three count and awarded him the victory.

Winner: Cody Rhodes by pinfall (6:34)

Cody is lashed with heat as he stands up to face the WWE Universe before him, a sick smile returning to his grotesque face. With one more triumphant glance at the jeering crowd before him, Rhodes slides under the bottom rope and walks up the ramp with his head held high and his eyes alight.

Returning from the break, we once again return to the interview pit where Todd Grisham is standing tall, his trusty microphone in hand.

Todd Grisham: Ladies and gentleman please welcome my guest at this time; he is the Master of the 619 – Rey Mysterio.

The crowd in the background pops loudly for the masked superstar as he walks into the shot, looking happy yet obviously focused on his big match set for the main event.

Todd Grisham: Rey, just moments ago we saw Cody Rhodes defeat Evan Bourne and advance into the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament. Now, as I’m sure you are aware, Cody still believes that there is something to settle between the two of you. What are your thoughts on this?

Rey looks visibly uncomfortable as the microphone is shoved into his face and he mulls the question over.

Rey Mysterio: Teddy Long agrees, and I am sure many others do as well, but I thought Cody and I settled our issue at Wrestlemania. There isn’t anything more I have to say or do to Cody, right now I am more focused on emerging victorious from my match next week so that I go to Seattle and compete for the vacant Intercontinental Championship. Whether that be against Cody or not, it does not matter, this isn’t personal for me, for me it is about holding that prestigious title belt for the second time in my career. Not only that, in just a few minutes time I go into battle with one of the greatest superstars in the WWE - Randy Orton. I have a lot of respect for Randy but I know that both of us desperately want to win in order to build momentum heading into important matches over the next couple of weeks. And I don’t plan on letting him take that from me.

Todd Grisham: But surely, the things that Cody said a couple of weeks ago must be playing on your mi-

This time Rey pushes the microphone towards himself, fire in his eyes.

Rey Mysterio: I know exactly what Cody said Todd, but I am refusing to stoop down to his level. We wrestled against each other, and I repeat – we settled our differences. I can’t spend my life thinking about what Cody Rhodes wants, about what Cody Rhodes thinks because frankly I have more important things on my mind.

Rey rushes slightly away from the interview pit to a very unusual reaction as some members of the WWE Universe appear to be lightly booing the legendary luchador. Todd Grisham looks a little taken back but some noise in the background causes the interviewer to turn to the source, with the camera following his gaze. A couple of seconds later, the camera centres on Curt Hawkins who has one hand in his battered jeans and the other clasping a phone to his ear.

Curt Hawkins: What did I say? I told you I could do it and I’ll do it again next week, I guarantee it. You’re not serious? You’ll be there? You can fly into Seattle for the pay-per-view? Thank-you, thank-you so much, I promise I won’t let you down.

Hawkins ends the call with a triumphant look on his mug but that quickly disappears as Todd stumbles into the scene with his microphone held out in front.

Todd Grisham: Curt, can you give us any information on who you have been calling constantly over the past three weeks?

Hawkins simply stares blankly at the eager interviewer.

Todd Grisham: Well any word on your opponent for next week and the man who, if you defeat, you will advance to Over the Limit to wrestle for the Intercontinental Championship – Rey Mysterio?

Hawkins continues to look almost disgusted that Todd would even approach him, let alone ask him a question. However, as Todd doesn’t seem to take the hint Curt forcibly grabs the microphone and brings it close to his lips.

Curt Hawkins: No comment.

As boos are heard distinctively in the background, Curt shoves the microphone back into the chest of Todd and walks slowly away from the scene.

BOOYAKA, BOOYAKA...

*Booyaka 619*

A huge positive ovation meets Rey Mysterio as he explodes onto the stage looking gleeful, the luchador quickly setting off a plethora of colourful fireworks in the crowd’s direction. Rey wanders down the ramp and slaps the hand of each and every fan he can physically reach before launching himself into the ring. With the crowd eating it up, Rey springs onto a turnbuckle and poses towards the WWE Universe, his completely yellow attire harshly reflecting the arena lights. As Rey steps down from the corner and steps into the middle of the squared circle, his eyes set on the entranceway, the cheerful look on his face just moments ago has gone; replaced by one of focus and determination.

I HEAR VOICES IN MY HEAD, THEY COUNSEL ME, THEY UNDERSTAND, THEY TALK TO ME!

*Voices*

The entire arena absolutely explodes with cheers for Randy Orton as he passes through the curtain and emerges onto the stage. In a pair of black wrestling tights with a glinting red design, Orton ever so slowly stalks down the ramp and bounds up the steel steps with the crowd’s almost raucous support ringing in his ears. A shadow of a grin gracing his features, Randy slides through the ropes and, after slapping hands with a crouching Rey Mysterio, he himself ascends the nearest corner and poses towards his fans. With the arena silent bar the shouts of the fans, the match official orders the two men in opposite corners to meet each other half way so that the main event of Smackdown can begin.

Match #6
Singles Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton

With a hell of a lot of momentum going the way of the winner in the night’s main event, both Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio went all out to secure the victory. Whether they were supporting Orton or Mysterio, each member of the WWE Universe in Corpus Christi spent the majority of the match on the edge of their seats watching an epic back and forth encounter. Far from his normal, methodical approach to a match, Randy Orton was kept constantly on his toes as he attempted to dissect the fast paced style of the luchador Rey Mysterio. The former world champions exchanged move after move, whether that be a seated senton countered into a scoop powerslam or a diving knee drop reversed into a blinding kick to the side of the Viper’s head. Both men nearly had the other beat on several tantalisingly close occasions but the referee was just unable to count each competitor’s shoulders down for a three count. Nearing the conclusion of the contest and with nearly the entire crowd up on their feet cheering for their favourite superstar, the pace has been lifted to an almost blurring speed – both wrestlers neither in nor out of control.

Ducking under a clothesline, Rey springboards off the ropes and extends his body in order to bundle over his opponent but, just as quickly, Orton rolls out of the contact. After watching Rey crash and burn on the canvas, Orton takes over control and cracks the luchador with a succession of three sharp lariats. Lifting the Mexican to his feet, Orton then launches his opponent against the ropes and avoids the initial contact before turning on his heels and awaiting the return journey of the legendary luchador. Although he manages to scoop Mysterio up in his arms, Randy immediately loses his grip and this allows the slippery former world champion to shift his weight, grab onto his opponent’s head, ride the momentum and drop his opponent onto the back of his head with a flying, inverted DDT. After just missing out by a sheer millisecond on pinning Orton, Rey launches back onto his feet just as the Viper does and wheelbarrows up his opponent’s body and latches onto the head of Orton for a bulldog. However, Orton still has some fight left in him and he launches the master of the 619 over his shoulders. Despite Rey landing on a stable base and attempting to get right back on the offence, Orton springs into action himself and drops his much smaller opponent with his signature back breaker. Now with the crowd’s cheers reaching their peak, Orton flattens himself down onto the canvas and begins to punch the mat manically, his eyes wide and the rest of his body slithering against the ground, looking for the final, killer blow. The pair rise as one and Orton leaps forward and latches onto Mysterio with both of his arms, hitting the RK- NO! Rey instinctively lashed out with a leg and blasted the thigh of the Viper before he could strike, following that up with kicks to the chest and nose of his opponent.

Orton stumbles around in obvious discomfort and doesn’t resist as Mysterio spring forward, locks his legs around the neck of his adversary and hurricanranas Randy neck first into the second rope. Randy remains immobile as Mysterio sprints off the ropes and makes a beeline for the prone Viper, riding around the ropes with his feet splayed out in front for the 61 – ORTON DUCKS UNDER THE CONTACT JUST IN TIME! Without even being given a second to react, Rey is stuffed back through the ropes and left hanging by his two feet, at Orton’s mercy for the time being - just waiting to be dropped with a vicious DDT. However, Orton is stunned as Rey pushes back against him and lands onto the canvas before suddenly grabbing he Viper’s legs and shifting his weight backwards towards the ropes – hanging Orton neck first against the second rope once again. Mysterio slowly takes a few steps back and charges at his downed opponent, swinging through the ropes and blasting Orton in the face with both of his feet – THE 619 CONNECTS! The WWE Universe explodes as Orton trips backwards before he gradually gets back to his feet, Mysterio waiting patiently out on the apron. The moment Orton does get to a stable base however, Rey leaps off the ropes in a seated senton and lands onto the Viper; ONLY FOR ORTON TO CATCH HIM MID FLIGHT! Rey valiantly punches away at the exposed head of Orton, obviously not wanting to be powerbombed so late in the contest, and Randy takes a few steps backwards towards the nearest corner. Without hesitation, Orton drops the smaller man back over his shoulders towards the top turnbuckle but Rey lands on the second rope, his face just inches away from being smashed into the top ‘buckle! The crowd urges Orton to turn to face his waiting opponent, Rey’s eyes focused on the back of the Viper, and as he adheres to the WWE Universe’s wishes, Mysterio jumps with his body outstretched – DIRECTLY INTO AN RKO! The Corpus Christi faithful explodes with surprise as Mysterio remains out cold on the mat and Orton slowly crawls into the cover and watches the official count out – one, two, thr- WHAT THE HELL?!

Winner: No Contest (12:41)

After sprinting down the ramp and sliding into the squared circle Alberto Del Rio hammers away at an exposed Randy Orton with punches and stomps, officially causing the referee to throw the match out. Thunderous heat is unloaded upon the World Heavyweight Champion as he mercilessly pounds away at his future opponent, only giving the Viper a reprieve as he picks up an equally hurt Rey Mysterio and dumps him over the top rope. After watching Mysterio tumble to the outside, Del Rio faces off against the jeering public and runs two hands through his greasy, black hair, his eyes alight with madness. Turning back to his prey, Del Rio stares into the eyes of Randy Orton who has somehow worked his way up to his feet and stumbles groggily towards his tormentor, obviously wanting to lay his hands on the Mexican Aristocrat. Del Rio, with a roar of rage, does not hesitate and charges at Orton, cracking him in the side of the skull with a brutal enzuigiri – the sound of the kick echoing sickly around the arena. But the attack does not end there; Del Rio continues to beat away at the defenceless Orton with punches, kicks and even a number of ferocious head butts. Only until he is too tired to continue does the champion step away from his downed challenger, raising his title belt high into the air, looking completely mad with his normally perfectly kept hair out of place and his face almost the essence of absolute evil.

#1Peep Smackdown Review by workhorse

Okay, my first review ! I'm pretty busy so I don't always get a chance to read a lot of shows but today I've taken the time to do so. I'm going to try and write more reviews from now on.

Lets begin -

Daniel Bryan vs Curt Hawkins - A really underrated match up in my opinion. You wouldn't expect a 9 minute match from these two but I enjoyed it. Hawkins looked good you gave him a great amount of offense. Look's like you've got D-Bry's character pretty down pat, I like it.

All in all a solid opener that saw the push of Curt Hawkins as a legitimate mid-card wrestler as well as the continuation of the Bryan/Swagger feud without making Daniel look weak.

Swagger's backstage promo was solid and continued the feud effectively as it was well thought out and executed, really showcasing Jack's character.

I liked that Bryan got one up on Swagger later as I feel he needed to do something after having Swagger cost him 2 matches now so that was a nice touch.

Grade: A-

Tag Team Action
So we've got the tag champs against (potentially) the next challengers, The Uso Brothers.

I loved the fact that the Tag Team division got a good amount of exposure as it makes them seem relevant. The Uso's and Slabriel put on an exciting match and I like the fact that The Uso's won.

I liked seeing DH Smith justify himself, it made sense. As I mentioned earlier, another tag team getting good exposure.

I'm not sure how I feel about Christian being in the match and Edge interfering. I felt as if Masters and The Hart Dynasty were just thrown in there a little bit. I guess you may be trying to expose these lesser guys in what is (IMO) the biggest feud on your show. I felt like it devalued Hart Dynasty's first match as I think they should've won cleanly against someone else. Never the less, as I said, the jury's still out on how I feel about it.

Having said that, Edge's post match promo was very well executed.

Grade: C+

Sheamus vs Chavo
Pretty much a squash match. Sheamus looked strong and continues his roll. I thought he may be done with Taker but his post-match antics suggest that maybe, just maybe, he and Undertaker are not done.

That really gets us thinking which is a nice touch.

Grade: B

Rhodes v Bourne
I liked this match, it got enough time that both men got some offense in but also made Rhodes look strong and a heavy favourite to win the Intercontinental Title (IMO). It was a good, solid match between two great young stars.

Grade: B+

Rey v Orton
Match of the night. Great match from start to finish, well written and very exciting. Randy and Rey both looked great and could easily have won but we pretty much knew that Randy was going to win but it was very enjoyable to read.

One thing that got to me though was another interference altering the outcome of the match. I would've liked to have seen Orton win clean then have Del Rio come out after the match.

Grade: B+

In summary, solid show from start to finish with no real weak spots. We got continued build on the Orton/Del Rio, Edge/Christian and Swagger/Bryan feuds.

All the matches delivered on different levels with none of them being pointless. Not even Sheamus' squash match.

The only thing that, in my opinion, let the show down slightly, was the amount of interference that cost match ups. Also, all the matches were won by heels. I know sometimes it's hard when you have ideas on how matches are going to end up but I feel there needed to be a bit more of a balance.

Overall, definitely a solid show that progressed the storylines further. I can't wait until Over the Limit as the card is shaping up to be a real ripper!

Overall Grade: B

Jam's Review
First match of the night pits DB and Hawkins. Pretty good match here to start the night off. I'm interested to see how you push Hawkins as I'm a fan of his as well. His tag team with Reks in real life seem to be quite the pair. Also, this feud between Bryan and Swagger could be special. I would say that this would be a feud that I'd like to see someone book for the WHC. The promo by Swagger just solidies him even more. I think other than GCB, you'd be the second best in promo writing, so props to you.

Whoo, some good tag team action here. I love how you and Theo have taken a division and look to revitalize it. I love the Usos and I've been coming around to the team of Slater and Gabriel. Good action here and I hope you don't split up Slabriel. I know that Gabriel would be fun to write for, but I don't think Slater can amount to anything without a tag team partner so I hope you keep them together. Good win for the Usos and hope you keep their momentum going because honestly, they're the best tag team in the WWE right now.

Interesting vignette here. I have a thought in my mind who it might be but I'm holding onto my guess to avoid being off about it. Vignettes always excite me so props to you on this even if it is a short one.

Hmm, soft Orton? That's gonna take some getting used to. And who is this "she" that he promises to change for. I still prefer the villanous Orton but hey, this could be a good character change for Orton and we'll just have to see more before judgment can be passed.

Sheamus the Beast, exactly what he should be. His face turn in real life isn't really bothering me, but I prefer him as a monster heel. I see that you're going to build Sheamus up as a true superstar since you have him going up against Undertaker and that's the right move in my opinion. Sheamus is the future and could very well be the person who carries Smackdown much like how Edge did.

This is a good little storyline here with the Hart Dynasty. You'll establish them even more with a little feud with Christian while advancing to the bigger picture with the Christian/Edge rivalry. Aside from the Orton/Del Rio rivalry, this rivalry has got to be my second favorite.

And the IC Title Tournament is underway. I was hoping that you would take Evan Bourne far in this tournament because he's a joy to write for and I believe he can be so much more than he is right now. But when he's matched up with Cody Rhodes, Cody had to win this one, so good win for Cody here. Hope this feud between Mysterio and Rhodes is over so that you can move on to other feuds to build these two up.

Main event time and just by the two people in the match, I bet it's going to be a great one. Boy, was I right! Even if it was in recap, I could just picture every move that you wrote and it was just an awesome match. Sad to see an awesome match have no ending, but there's more to it now that Del Rio has attacked both men. Looks like Del Rio is the aggressor here in his feud with Orton instead of Orton being the aggressor. I expect Orton to turn back to his sickly self soon.

OTL is shaping up to be a great PPV and we're weeks away! Can't wait for Smackdown next week. Keep up the good work Peep, sorry again that I couldn't provide some graphics. Cheers!

GCB REVIEW & FEEDBACK:

Overall, the best thing about SMACKDOWN here was the way you've moved the spotlight on from the dominant storyline of Edge/Christian to other storylines as well. The Orton and Del Rio story is now coming more into prominence and you're posing questions as well - who did Del Rio want a match with? Who was 'she' that Orton referred to? Although I would have liked to have seen one more Del Rio segment, either interview or in ring promo, this feud is now starting to simmer away and I am beginning to feel it more.

The other storylines that you are creating are excellent in terms of thought and obvious planning: Hart Dynasty joining Edge is a fabulous idea and really puts Christian up against it in their feud. Edge utilising the opportunity to swing a steel chair around to take out Christian was vicious and Edge needed to get over Christian at this stage in their rivalry. I still see you setting up for a Christian victory to propel him into the main event but I'm less certain of it now - good job. Edge taking the Harts under his wing is great - feels like a mix of La Familia and Legacy from previous years. It can only benefit the Dynasty and I see the Tag Titles going on them very soon. Between Theo and yourself, the Tag Team division is hotting up - on this show, we saw Harts, Usos and the champions, Slater and Gabriel, all looking good. Like JAM says, I would like to see Gabriel and Slater stay together a little bit longer but I suspect you've seen potential in writing for Mr. Gabriel so you might break them up.

The Intercontinental Championship tournament is the only part of the show I'm not sold on right now. Having said that, I can see the stories that you are using it to advance - Swagger/Bryan are now feuding, Hawkins is getting over as is Masters and I see Mysterio and Cody in the final for the title. There just doesn't seem to be that spark of excitement in it - probably because I'm sensing I know who the finalists will be. By the way, if Cody doesn't go over Mysterio in some way in the tournament, I will be unhappy. Swagger and Bryan should be an excellent wrestling match and I will be looking forward to that one at the OTL PPV.

Sheamus and Undertaker - I'm sooooo excited already. I cannot wait. I asked for a new feud and you are going to deliver one. Loved Sheamus mocking Taker tonight, great move. That would get the Celtic Warrior serious heat! Very interested to see how this one plays out - I suspect this is a slow burner and that we won't see Taker vs. Sheamus at OTL, it'll go on towards the summer. Either way, I cannot wait to see how it unfolds.

Short thoughts, hope they help,
GCB
