Bold statement, huh?
Especially for the Brits amongst us. However, I honestly think that this man is one of the biggest assholes on the stand-up comedy scene. Until about three weeks ago, I thought that the sun shone out of his ass... Not any more.
The problem I have with him is pretty big. In fact, I have more than one problem that when I combine them all together, he just is a tremendous asshole. The first thing that makes me raise issue with him is his attempt at comedy. When he burst on to our screens he told many jokes that seemed edgy and got over by saying things about his nationality and then saying things about Stephen Hawking, Kerry Katona and Gordon Brown. I will admit that at the time, I was loving it. He seemed really funny and all of his jokes were pretty close to the knuckles. I like that style of comedy and he really did impress me at first. However, you would expect his jokes and his comedy to improve and get better as he has more experience with fame and hopefully gets some more material from that.
However, his comedy has remained the same and I honestly don't like it any more. I didn't mind that he was making fun of Scottish people that much because I wanted him to show that Scotland is a pretty funny nation that can laugh at it's own short-comings. As I stated before though, you would think that his comedy would develop and get better. Frankie Boyle hasn't even tried. Woth every time I see him, he reuses the same jokes and has gotten really lazy about coming up with material. I also think that he is an asshole because of the way that he ises the Scottish people still. Of course I understand that he had to to get his initial fame but he always talks about how bad Scottish people are and how bad natured they are on top of this. I know that we are not the best people in the world but it is definitely not as bad as he would like to make out. I think and this may just be me, that Boyle has found fame within England because of the way that he talks about Scots and he is scared that if he changes his comedy slightly, he wont have have the same fame any more.
The second reason I do not like him is his loyalty issues. I recently found out that Frankie Boyle has decided to leave Mock The Week after a very long run on the show. I don't mind this but to be honest, I think that he has sold out to some extent. He has left Mock The Week, the show that made him who he was and gave him the fame that he now loves. He left it for no reason and then I find out that he has decided to stop doing stand-up comedy. What the fuck!? I mean seriously. I know that he has being doing stand-up for a long time but he does one good run in the limelight and then decides to bow out to concentrate on TV work. I personally think he will fail in the end and I hope so if he uses the same shitty racist material that he is now known for.
