Firstly I expect alot of people to say the first match they saw was HBK v Hart or Austin v Rock and if that is the case then cool, but the moments i want to hear about is the very first time you took any notice of wrestling at all.

I remember the first time I first saw anything WWE/WCW was at my friends house across the road, he was two years older than me and had a tv in his own room, my dad dropped me off at the door and i went up stairs and into my friends room. His walls were covered from top to bottom in posters of HBK and Macho Man and i was in awe of these super human characters, then we sat down and watched RAW. All i can remember from that RAW is the first match included the Headbangers, i had no idea who these guys were or how good they were but i was hooked and i have been ever since, it was an escapism from whatever was happening at school or at home and still is to this day a chance from me to take a break from work etc.

So like i said before, what are your first memories of wrestling, and what did that moment mean to you?

Kane vs. Stone Cold for the WWF title in a first blood match....

LOVED the match and made Kane my favorite wrestler, and has been the past 14 years...and is the match that got me hooked on wrestling....my cousin made me watch it one night and thats what i saw

the first tv match i can remember was ric flair and the minnesota wrecking crew (with gene and ole) vs wahoo mcdaniel, paul jones and i believe mr wrestling no. 2. this was when i was very young and i remember they kept talking about how flair was coming back from a broken back. so i am unsure of the date. the first live match i remember was the old southeastern championship wrestling promotion with bearcat brown and someone i cant remember vs the orderlies. the orderlies dressed in all white and brought a gurney to the ring. they used a canopener to cut up bearcat. i guess from those names you can tell i am not a young guy. been watchin wrestling since i was three or four. my unkle used to take me to wrestling every tuesday. i can still remember him carrying me into that joint.

I know I've been watching wrestling since i was about 2 and remember playing with the LJN action figures and knowing everyones name but the first match I can honestly remember seeing was when I was about 5 and it was Jake Roberts vs Ricky Steamboat on Saturday Night's Main Event. It was the snake pit match I believe they called it where Jake had Damien and Steamboat brought out a "dragon"(big iguana lizard thing) with him.

I know i watched wrestling much before this but my first recollection of WWE. Was changing the channel and seeing Brock Lesnar throwing Zach Gowen against a steel pole. It was awesome and drew me in alot.

First match I ever saw was in 1967 when Chief Wahoo McDaniel wrestled some jobber in Savannah Mo. First TV match was 1969 when Cowboy Bob Kelly wrestled Medic number 1. No cable, 10 o clock on Sat night on an outside attenae. Guess I am telling my age. back then, wrestling in a VFW Hall was like wrestling in MSG. LOL

The first match i had ever seen was about 3 1/2 years ago (i never really took any notice before this) on a Friday night, the main event of Smackdown was a steel cage handicap match between, i think Ric Flair and La Familia. This was just a couple of weeks before Wrestlemania 24 and I remember being hooked as soon as I saw the ending which was La Familia beating the hell out of Flair, the lights going out and Undertaker appearing in the cage doorway to stare down Edge.

If it wasn't for me being bored on a Friday night I dont think I would've gotten into wrestling at all.

I remember flipping through the channels on a Monday night back in the late 90s sometime, and seeing this dumpster go flying off the stage. That dumpster contained Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie. Seeing this got me amazed in the whole wrestling craze. I saw my first Wrestlemania that year, and soon later my first wrestling event. King of the Ring 1998 in Pittsburgh. I went with people I barely knew because I was the only person they knew that was old enough to drive at the time, and they told me they would give me the ticket if I drove them to Pittsburgh. I had no idea how good the seats they had were until we go to the arena. We were about 20 rows back, on the floor, right behind the announcer's table. Also, little did I know that I would witness one of the greatest matches of all time-Taker vs. Foley-Hell in A Cell. Foley fell right in front of us, a mere 45-50 feet away. From these moments, I was hooked for life.

I was just thinking about this last night. Here in Australia we had World Championship Wrestling in the 1970s. I vividly remember matches from 1976 (we got colour TV in late 75) so it would've been the local guys Mario Milano, Ron Miller, Larry O'Dea and Kevin Martin. I remember seeing Andre The Giant around this time which probably truly got me into wrestling. Ox Baker and Bulldog Brower and Brute Bernard were there around that time too. The first one that really sticks in my mind was a battle royal in Australia where the last two were Andre and a local guy called Kenny Medlin who was about the size of Evan Bourne. Andre agreed to split the prize with Kenny instead of just tossing him out making Andre a true hero to a lil kid like me at the time. Must've been about 1977-78. There's a DVD called Ruff Tuff & Real if u wanna know more about that time in Oz wrestling.

The first match I remember watching was Hogan vs. King Kong Bundy at WM 2. We were visiting up at my uncle's house and that match just stood out in my mind to this day. After that, I started watching WWF Superstars every Saturday morning and I was hooked.

I think i got lucky with getting one of the best possible first match/piece of wrestling possible. I was flipping channels at my grandma's and came to the wrestling match between shawn michaels and taker, inside hell in a cell. And, in literally the first minute of me turning it on kane debut. So my first minute of wrestling was one of the only 5 star matches that the wwe ever got, and the debut of on of the best gimmick wrestlers ever.

Yes I know exactly what my first match was... HHH vs. Big Show in a chokeslam match. It was the Smackdown before Unforgiven '99 and the main event was a six pack challenge for the WWF title. HHH had to face everyone of his competitors in their specialty matches. I.E. Rock in a bull rope match, Mankind in a boiler room brawl, Undertaker in a casket match, Kane in an inferno match. Ever since that match I was hooked...I actually thought HHH could win the match lol...

First match I remember watching was Owen vs Bret, the WrestleMania X opener. My dad loved wrestling a lot and watched it all the time when he first moved to America so my older brother and I became fans and watched as soon as we got the chance. My dad bought WM X and I knew my brother loved Bret so I was hoping he would win but Owen did but it was okay because Bret won it later that night. To this day I still credit the Hitman as my favorite wrestler of all-time just for the nostalgic satisfaction his memory brings me

The first time I watched WWE was late in 1999, probably November or December, it was an episode of SmackDown, first thing I saw was a Rock promo....5 Catchphrases of Doom later, I was hooked...but the angle that really hooked me in, forever...watching Foley get into the main event of WrestleMania 2000, that did it right there...great moment for a guy who for some reason an 11 yr old me looked up to

Firstly I expect alot of people to say the first match they saw was HBK v Hart or Austin v Rock and if that is the case then cool, but the moments i want to hear about is the very first time you took any notice of wrestling at all.

Why the hell do you expect that to be someone's first memory of wrestling?

Anyway, I still remember the first time I ever saw pro wrestling. I was watching TV on a Saturday night and I saw these two crazy looking guys fighting each other. At first I thought they were boxers, but I had never seen any boxers act like that. I saw the bald guy beat the guy with long black hair and afterward they were interviewed by a short guy. Turns out the bald guy was named Hulk Hogan and the guy with the long hair was named Randy Savage. The ref turned out to be a boxer named Buster Douglas. During the interview Hogan said they were gonna go out drinking. He said he was a milk drinker and Buster was a buttermilk drinker. Ive been hooked ever since.

I never really liked WWE but the night In 2004 when Bischoff announced the chamber match at NYR 2005 and Shelton Benjamin beat Triple H really got me hooked on.

first piece I can remember was the barber shop scene with shawn micheals and marty janetty. I know I watched wrestling before then, I just didnt remember anything until Micheals ripped up the WWF magazine and Brutus looked like he was in the worlds worst state of shock.

The first match I remember seeing live is Austin Rock Vs Jericho Benoit or something like that. After the cameras went off Austin and Rock were drinking beers, gave them to Jericho and Benoit and then double stunner.

Great question. One day, (I was 11 years old at the time) I was flipping through the channels and turned to UPN-57 and saw from start to finish The Undertaker (who I'd heard about in news/mainstream media/video games) face off against John Cena. I would later learn that this was the Thursday before the Great American Bash of 2004.

Here's what I remember taking from the match:
-Cena dropping Undertaker, and telling him how he's not afraid of him
-Cena cutting Undertaker's upper arm open on the steel steps
-Undertaker winning with the Tombstone Piledriver
-Paul Heyman coming out with the urn and urging Undertaker to "Do the right thing"

I thought this was fascinating, and it was ultimately the match that got me into wrestling for good. Ironically, John Cena has since became a larger than life figure- a far cry from what he was back when I saw him go against the Deadman. Time sure does fly...

My cousin got me hooked on wrestling from the video games. Specifically WCW World Tour for N64..he would show me moves n stuff but i was never allowed to watch it, however i had a pretty good idea of characters n somewhat storylines too. But then my cousin ordered WM14 and i was immediately captivated by Undertaker vs Kane, which to this day is my favorite match. Everything from the build up to the match itself just got my addicted. from then on forget it lolz

First match/piece of wrestling I ever saw was a cage match between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant from a best of Hulk Hogan VHS I was given as a child. I watched it in 1992 but have since found out the actual match was from 1988.

The 1st match i saw was the Undertaker/Mankind Hell In A Cell! I was 9 at that time. I really didn't like wrestling, my cousin (which was 11) was really into it. He always said to watch with me but i got bored because here in Puerto Rico we could only see WWF Sunday Night Heat (it sucked) back then...so he invited me to see the ppv and told me about a steel cage so i got interested...damn, that match scared the HELL out of me! lol i couldn't see the rest of the match after the fisrt fall!!

I was scared of wrestling until 1999 lol in a Tag Burried Alive match between Undertaker and Big Show against Sock Connection. It was on SmackDown. Then HHH appeared and finally Austin in an ambulance! It was a great match!!

The first match I can remember watching was a Sting/Flair match from the 80s. Sting didnt win but he made me into a lil stinger!

-hm from what i remember it was stone cold steve austin kicking someones ass, the guys were mocking some chick that was singing the american anthem, not a match, just stone cold beating someone. or maybe it was triple hhh having a match and he was getting booed, but that was a long time ago so i dont remember exactly.

-as for what it meant to me, well it was awesome, i was instantly hooked.

It was the mid 80s and I was at my grandparents house with my older by a few years cousin Dan. He'd been telling me about WWF wrestling for a while and how these guys get into a ring and fight each other. He turned it on later that day and what I saw immediately had me hooked. The match was The One Man Gang vs. Bam Bam Bigelow. Loved it! For some reason Bam Bam was wrestling in a suit. This was the only time I've seen him do it. Shortly after that I became a Hulkamaniac. Andre, Piper, CanAM Connection and all the rest of my original favorites! Started renting VHS tapes to catch up on what came before I started watching. One of my favorites was one that was just a big tournament that Junkyard Dog won. I think he beat Murocco.
