FINALLY!

Mr. TM

Throwing a tantrum
The Rock

Has Come Back

To Smackdown...

In a pretaped portion of the show.

According to the WZ Mainpage, the rock is going to make an appearance, which will be a pretaped portion of the show. So I doubt he will take part of any in ring skits or anything of the sort. He did something similar before from his home, I think it was for the Raw 15th anniversary show.

According to F4WOnline.com, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is confirmed for the upcoming SmackDown! 10th Anniversary show.

A WWE film crew filmed the segment with Rock at his house earlier this week.

Sort of wish he would make his way over to the arena and get in the ring for 5 minutes for the fans. Thought that would be respectful. But seems he doesn't want to, and would rather treat the fans to a sit down interview which will last 5 minutes.

On the WZ homepage there is a report about The Rock being confirmed to appear on the 10th anniversary Smackdown! show airing this friday. Now don't get to excited because The Rock's appearance will be a taped segment.Similar to what he did for the Mcmahon/Trump hair vs hair match at Wrestlemania 23. There have been lots of threads this year about how everyone wishes Rock would come back to WWE. Well this friday your going to get a small taste of what it's like to see The Rock back in WWE. I am looking forward to seeing The Great One cut mean promo this friday. It's The Rock, and who knows when you'll ever see him near WWE again? I know he was at the hall of fame last year, but he really wasn't in character. So is this sample of The Rock going to enough to satisfy your cravings? Or is it just a tease not worth watching? Or do you just don't give a shit?

I think this is great, whether he gets in the ring or not is his decision. Simply because when I think of SmackDown, theres very few faces in the history of the show I think of. One of which is The Rock. He carried the show on his back, throughout the earliest stages of its career. Its only fitting on the 10th anniversery of SmackDown the man makes an appearance, even if it is only the titantron. Allthough, it really would make his appearance that much more electrifying, to step into the ring, and give us one last eyebrow raising pose. With his hand held high up into the air.

Well, he should make an appearance in some capacity, because the show's named after one of his catchphrases and in essence, is his show. This is great for The Rock because it shows that he has some loyalty to the business that put his name out there. Of course, it would be epic to see him in the arena doing some sort of in-ring promo or something, but a pre-taped statement's just as good. He did the same thing during Raw's 15th Anniversary show.

I think this will be interesting.

I think that it will be fun to see how the fans react to him and see whether they cheer or boo him. I personally don't think that the WWE need him to do anything but I think that I will enjoy seeing him. I also think that it will be interesting to see how he doed the segment. For example, will he do it in The Rock character or Dwayne Johnson character? Will he begin the segment with the apply named title of this thread?

These are questions which I am looking forward to seeing being answered. The Rock is still one of the biggest draws in wrestling history and I will be watching with interest to see what the ratings will be like in comparison with Raw. I have a feeling that Smackdown will likely do much better ratings wise and will probably be one of the better shows in it's history. The Rock, as I say will bring in a lot of people to the show and viewer-ship will increase without a doubt. Whether it is in the ring or not, The Rock is still a a huge draw and is still fucking entertaining. I personally don't care if he is in or out of the ring because it is still worth watching.

Kudos to The Rock for doing it because it would have been very easy to reject it altogether but you just know that people are going to start talking about his return to the ring now...

Well holy shit it finally happened.... The greatest entertainer on the mic will be back in the wwe after almost 2 years.... Thoughts, comments, excitement? I haven't seen smackdown in like a year but i sure as hell will see it now... Taped in his house but yeah still pretty awesome for me

Man, i'm so stoked about this. So what if its just a pre taped interview, we get some new stuff from the Rock on WWe television. Is it going to be just like his amazing promos of yesteryear? probably not, but He's the freaking Rock and i know he will still bring a huge amount of charisma, a top notch promo, and a little bit of nostalgia. This should be a good moment, and one that i for one, look forward to.

Wow proves my point that this guy is a douche bag, won't even come back to the WWE to make LIVE appearance no no thats to much make it a taped segment... we loved The Rock and made him the biggest thing in the WWE and the second someone offers him Movie Deals for Little Kids he jumps ship to the Movie World and now the only way to get him to make an "Appearance" is threw a taped segment... You know what Dwayne... I got Two words for ya

Screw You.

This is exactly why they shouldn't have let it leak that The Rock is going to be on Smackdown.

All this did was give dumbasses (like the one above) something else to complain about for the next 2 years.

Do you fucking realize what's happening here? The last time he made an in-character appearance was 2005. The Rock is coming back after about four years to cut a promo and all you can think about is the fact that he's not going to be in the ring.

Now that this info has leaked, people's expectations are going to be way too fucking high. People like this are why wrestling can't be discussed in a realistic way. Instead of enjoying it like you're fucking supposed to, you overanalyze and nitpick every little thing. You're damn lucky Rocky even made an appearance in the first place. It would have taken less effort to say no, and nobody would have expected different from him.

He doesn't owe you shit. The way I see it, he's doing Vince a favor by doing this segment. Hopefully they advertise the fuck out of this throughout the week, because the ratings for this will be amazing.

Quit being an ungrateful prick. The Rock, I believe, is in the process of filming a movie. Why would he fly out all the way to where Smackdown is shot, just to do a 5 minute segment? He's not like Austin, who just sits on his ass all day, he has another career, which takes less effort and gives him more money.

As far as the actual appearance, this will just make Smackdown more awesome. I will definitely be watching.

Rock should not comeback even if its taped after how aia heard on wrestlezone that wrestlers thought he was to good for them last year at the Hall of Fame,i wonder whhho?O,the big nose guy who only fuckin using Stephanie to get to the pops Vince,my thoughts! He should be in the HoF before Steroid Cold Steve Austin who the only beating he ever did in WWE was beating on ladies!I like him though i gotta defend my boy Rock,i was mad he left of 4 Hollywood but im not no more.If he was still here in this KIDS era where we cater to them who cant even afford to buy a ticket or ppv,us adults should have some entertainment then these lil spoiled brats,my nephew is included,(he love Cena,Jeff crackHardy,Rey Mysteroidio,DX(2old as ass men actin like kids).Rock was a way better wrestler, good as both heel and goodie, always made his show not like a guy who took his ball home when things aint go his way!Cena got nerve to diss Rock, nerve!Im glad he comin back but should come live to smack the shit out of John ICENAnuff, hope he cuts one for the boy to show him how grown men does it!Rock is and always the Peoples Champ,Cena not when he only have the lil spinner belt!

I’ve never really been that big of a Rocky fan but this is a big coup for the WWE. Whether you hate him or you love him, the man is still a very recognizable face and is still a pretty big draw so it’s only smart of the WWE to bring him in. Even if he is just doing a pre-tape segment people will still watch what he has to say no matter what. Not only will people watch to see what he says but they will still hope that he will give them that one more match they desire, even though I think it will not be happening.

The WWE is really doing a great job with the 10th anniversary of Smackdown by having big names come back for one night appearances live and in pre-tape segments. I am really looking forward to this show and I think that it would be awesome if they made it a special live episode. Also, the fact that they were able to have the Rock do something with them makes me wonder if they’ll have some other big names do something with them for this episode of Smackdown. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

WOW..FINALLY THE GREAT ONE HAS COME BACK!!! Even though he's not gonna be there in full body, I'm glad he's there at some capacity. He fuckin created the show and is THE greatest entertainer out there, especially when you think of the WWF/E, and SmackDown. I'm so excited.

Excuse me you think I think The Rock owes me something? Look buddy I gave up on The Rock a long time ago OK, I don't care about if and how he comes back, I gave you my personal opinion, and you know what fine you don't have to like it I couldn't care less, but thats not the point.

Fine your probably right, he is probably making a movie right now, and couldn't make it for a 5 minutes segment on the show, but you know what I bet all hes gonna say is how he misses the Smackdown! fans and wishes Smackdown! a happy 10th Anniversary which is totally and utter bullshit. IN MY OPINION.

I liked The Rock, he had Attitude, and you know what, in some ways I miss him, but I've given up on him, look I realize he owes me nothing, I know he doesn't owe me anything, thats not what I said, what I said was that he doesn't have the respect for WWE to give us a 5-10 segment live... Not that I want him back anyway.

Oh and how is he doing Vince a favor? You know what if he didn't show up I don't think ONE person would have asked about it. Sure hes giving Vince some good ratings cause everyone will want to see The Ex Peoples Champ but at the end of the day, Vince doesn't need The Rock to make the 10th Anniversary of Smackdown! good, hes just an added bonus who wont show for 5 minutes of the crowd going nuts.

who gives a shit about what motor asshole say's about dwayne's return to smackdown DON'T WATCH IT THEN IF YOU FEEL THAT WAY!!!! I KNOW I'LL BE WATCHING!!

Who gives a shit... Me.
And I will watch, I love Smackdown! it has the best wrestling on WWE TV right now, and I'm sure the show will be amazing, hell I'm not even going to read the Spoilers to this weeks Smackdown! I just gave my Opinion like your giving yours.

Respect It.

How do you know that he doesn't love the fans and doesn't want to wish them a happy 10th anniversary? I don't care if he makes a live appearance or it is pre-taped. He's making some sort of appearance and the crowd will go wild over that plain and simple.

Yeah... Well...
IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU THINK ! ! ! !
Friday, October 2, The Rock will transmit "live" In Front of the Millions !! (And Millions) of Rock fans to give them the People's Thank you, And, if you have a problem with The Rock, if you have a problem with The Great One, well let The Rock tell you what he's gonna do, he's gonna take his size 13 boot, shine it up real nice, turn it side... AND STICK IT STRAIGHT UP YOUR CANDY ASS ! !

IF YAAAA SMEEELLL... WHAT THE ROCK IS... COOKING ! !

No, but seriously, we don't know what the segment is about, maybe he'll also show up. Remember. He'll probably see you walking by Jabroni Drive, turning to Know Your Role Boulevard, on your way check yourself directly into... The Smackdown Hotel! He did coin the name of the show, so who knows?

Side Note: Nothing personal by the way Motor City Mayhem. :)

Excuse me you think I think The Rock owes me something? Look buddy I gave up on The Rock a long time ago OK, I don't care about if and how he comes back, I gave you my personal opinion, and you know what fine you don't have to like it I couldn't care less, but thats not the point.

If you really gave up on him, you wouldn't care whether or not he even made an appearance in the first place. Just as I wouldn't care whether or not a gay porn star appeared at a porn awards show, because I'm not gay and I don't care for gay porn.

Well IN MY OPINION, as you so nicely put it, I think that he's going to actually cut a promo. If all he was going to do was wish Smackdown a happy anniversary, then I think that Vince wouldn't have wasted his money and time to film the segment. He could've easily just filled it with clips of the Rock's best moments that would be on the Smackdown DVD. It would have cost him less money, and it would've advertised a product without using commercial time.

Again, if you don't want him back, then why would you go out of your way to bash him?

It's like when people get jealous when their ex gets a new partner. They wouldn't be jealous if they didn't want their ex back.

He's doing Vince a favor because he hasn't appeared in such a long time and if they advertise this, the ratings will be off the charts. Bret Hart is overrated, but the reason people are marking out is because he's fucking Bret Hart. If Hart came back, he wouldn't be able to wrestle, and he never had great mic skills, but he's Bret Hart. That's the same reason why people are marking out for Rocky.

And of course this will make the Anniversary better. And if you're trying to tell me that a show with a main event featuring Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. would be fine without The Rock cutting a promo, you're delusional.

As much as I would love to see the Rock in some capacity make a return to the WWE, you have to accept the fact he probably won't be back. Simple as this... The Rock will have filmed SOMETHING new for the WWE fans. So he IS still around in some capacity. Maybe he'll wake up one day realizing he just made some god awful fucking movie that nobody goes to see... "wait... I need to get back in the ring again for a real send-off." That's what us fans are the most bitter about anyway. We knew he was making movies, but we didn't know that his small returns would dwindle to sporatic appearances, to nothing at all. If he would have been honest with the fans in the first place, I know we wouldn't be as bitter as we are with the Rock.

Bottom Line... it's the Rock, he made himself availible to the WWE even for a short time for the 10 yr. show. It's better than no Rock at all.

I don't care at all. I'm disgusted that he went from town to town swearing his love to the fans and boasting family pride in this business just to walk away. Show schedules, booking schedules, creative plans - I get all that. But who cares if he comes back every 5 years? I don't. Maybe there's a strained relationship that keeps either side from working too hard to synchronize schedules. I'm also surprised that WWE would prepare a segment so late before the anniversary. If they're guilty of procrastination, then I hope Dwayne made them compensate EXTRA to have it happen at all.

The Rock is the reason Smackdown! has its name, he coined it and it became WWE 2nd most successful TV program, if The Rock didn't show up in some way or form it would take away from the anniversary and probably tarnish his reputation for completely abandoning what basically raised him. I'm if Vince didn't approach him for the segment he would fell compelled to show up anyway, he remembers where hes from, its just that he doesn't need to come back, hes done everything he could. 9 time world champ, 2 time Intercontinental champ, Tag Team champ, Royal Rumble winner, headlined 5 straight Wrestlemania's, what else could he offer? Put over people, he put over Christian, Chris Jericho, Hurricane, Brock Lesnar. Even if its just a pretape, hes contributing, and we should be thankful for all the great moment he gave us and thank him back by supporting him, even if most of his movies suck.

Side Note:He's doing way better in the movies than John Cena, by the way.. Cena's on the show but he isn't... Nah it's just a coincidence. Is it?
Another Side Note: Motor City Mayhem, your a good sport. Keep in mind, words don't hurt my friend. Unless they are written in something hard and solid.

^^^This^^^^. The Rock should be there. Jericho may have yelled "Raw is Jericho," but we all know Smackdown is the Rock. Rock not being at the 10th anniversary of Smackdown would be blasphemous, and I would be pissed for a whole 5 minutes after the show ended and I realized that the Rock wasn't going to even throw a pre-tape our way.

Hopefully it'll calm the masses that are calling for The Rock's head on these boards. See? He's willing to make taped appearances, which serve the same essential purpose. An in-ring appearance would, of course, be amazing...but it's not at all absolutely needed or required. The Rock didn't have to give us a taped recording, appreciate that he did.

Honestly it pisses me off that wrestling fans want to see Rock so bad. I loved this guy to. Marked out for him, tuned in every week to see him, had his toys, bought his stupid book hell how can you have an autobiography before your 30 lol. Anyway am I the only one that feels like Rock has totally spit on this buisness? I dont blame him for leaving wrestling to be a big movie star. Its alot more pay, less chance of injury, and more secure. However I have seen time and time again how he distances himself from wrestling because it might hurt his precious movie career. Hell he couldnt even take time out of his busy schedule for the 10th anniversiry of a show WWE named after his catchphrase. He needs to rember who and what made him famous. I think all true wrestling fans should turn the channel this Friday during his segment and let Rock no we dont appreciate him thinking he is to good for the buisness we love.

the wwe does not need the rock in any way shape or form oh yea we feel greatful the crock decides to pretape some how great smackdown is crap and if i believe correctly steve austin is a movie star he is making two films at once and he is an ambassador for the wwe imo the rock should just kill his career like been doing for disney

I agree with you man. The Crock should no his role. To say he doesnt owe anything to the wrestling fans who made him a star that is total b.s.. Honestly wrestling fans dont ask much from him just that he acknowledge where he came from. All celebritys owe their fans something because we straight up are what makes them rich. I just hate the fact that even though he pisses on wrestling fans I no everyone is still going to pop for him. Its sad that we are so loyal even when he is not.

thank you motor city mayhem,,,my thoughts as well,i wont even waste my time with my coments on the (sellout) rock um i mean dwayne johnson.you said it already

How r movies more secure than wrestling? Their are times when actors may do 2-3 movies in 1yr, and then it takes another year or two to get a call for another role. At least with wrestling, as big as The Rock was he would've continued to have job security, the man was awesome. He's never been seriously injured, so i dont get it. If it was about money, im sure Vince wouldve worked something out. Rock is still young in wrestling years, so i wonder why he & vince just wont sitdown & work out a new deal, give him more money, and give him a favorable schedule. Money talks.
