Fantasy Hockey, anyone interested?

So hockey season is just around the corner, & I was just curious if anyone else here would be interested in a WZ fantasy hockey league?

I've wanted to start a fantasy hockey league for years now, however the fact that I only have one friend who is really into hockey enough to do it, has kinda hindered my attempts to create a fantasy league, so I figured I'd see if there was anyone here who would be into the idea of being part of the first ever WZ fantasy hockey league, the season starts in one month (Sept. 21), so if this is gonna happen it needs to come together relatively quickly

It seems interesting. I only watch the Blackhawks, and I know very little about hockey, so I would have to say no. CH David would probably want to do it.

Ok, so if this is to happen I need a minimum of 4 teams, though I'd like for there to be more (I figure the more teams the more competitive and fun this gets)

If this does happen, there are a few questions I have

Scoring type
Roto- Compete against your whole league all season long, trying to rank the highest in each stat category

H2H pts.- Face-off with one opponent each week, trying to score more total points

H2H each category- Go head-to-head with one opponent each week, earning a win or loss for each stat category

H2H most categories- Go head-to-head with one opponent each week, earning a win if you win the most categories

Season Points- Earn as many points as possible over the entire season to win the championship

Draft Type

Snake- Your league will participate in a live online draft with ESPN's live draft software. Based on a predetermined draft order, each team takes a turn selecting a player in a set amount of time. This type of draft is sometimes called a Snake Draft, as the draft order reverses each round

Autopick- Your league's rosters are automatically drafted based on each team's pre-draft rankings list. Each team owner will receive an email upon the draft's completion.

Auction- Your league will participate in a live online auction draft using ESPN's auction draft software. In an auction draft, teams begin with a set budget and take turns nominating players to be auctioned off to the highest bidder

The Draft Date

I need to know when would be the best date for the draft (personally I think this would work best if done on a weekend)

I'd say Head To Head Snake Draft as Auction is kinda bleh in my mind.

im in and i also agree with the h2h snake. Auction you get to many shit players and the league isn't very good

Alright, I was thinking the same (h2h snake), the autopick draft would be my second choice, but only cause (if I understand correctly) you just rank the players you want and it picks for you based on your rankings, if it isn't possible for us all to get online at the same time to do the draft, this seems like it would be a good second option

My problem with the autopick is that our big boards will probably be the exact same.

If worse comes to worse why don't we do an offline draft (IE: We do it in here) We've got awhile and everyone will just have to keep track of their own team.

Ok so far if I have counted right, so far we have hatehabsforever, minor league brian, guy, rustyblack, & of course myself, that should be enough to get started, I'm gonna give people till Sept. 4th to decide if they want to join or not before setting up the league

I can set it up and we can run an offline draft if you want. I'll just have to input the players for each person. Everyone has to join the league before that's done, though.

I'm in, but since I know next to nothing about any players beyond the major star(s) I'd rather do a snake draft instead of an offline draft, since I'd likely be fucked in that type of setting. (without the players in front of me, giving me their previous stats)

That shit looks fucking complicated. And, are Goalies really high draft picks? What point value do they give? 1 pt per save? If so, I'm drafting a Goalie #1 ovr.

Otherwise, I'll just target Alex Ovechkin and just let the rest sim itself. I'll win with him and/or Sid. I'm that confident.

I was mistaken on when the season starts, apparently it doesn't start on Sept. 21 like I thought (that's preseason), reg. season starts on Oct. 7th, which gives us more time to get more people to join, and figure out how we want to do the draft, and when
