Fantasy Baseball advice

[Scotty]

I inherited this team and I'm trying to get them to where they need to be. Another guy in the league offered me Dallas Kuechel and Adam Jones for Josh Donaldson. Advice?

Without knowing anything about your league or teams needs I'd say you should definitely take it. It is not unimaginable that Jones goes on to outperform Donaldson for the rest of the year. On top of that you get a pitcher that has been great so far after performing really well last year.

Holy crap your team is stacked!

Who is his 3B now? See if you can get that guy back instead of Dallas Kuechal, I don't really like him too much he's kinda spitting his load. Plus your pitching is already pretty solid.

But Adam Jones is one of the best CF in the league.

Also is this a one year league or a keeper league?

Either way you should probably do it. I like your end, try to get his current starting 3B back over Kuechal, but if you can't just do it anyway.

His starting 3B is Pablo Sandoval. He told me he would pay almost anything to get him and his team is way more stacked.

Pablo Sandoval is very solid. I like him almost as much as Donaldson. Sandoval is going to come around in the second half, that big guy in Fenway with the Green Monster out there, now that he's adjusted to the new city he's in he should start getting hot. Even then you're getting a stud centerfielder and a decent replacement for Donaldson.

How many teams are in this league?

I would offer him Donaldson for Sandoval and Adam Jones. You would be killing him in that deal if he does that. And if this is a dynasty league, your team is in good shape. Marte and Rizzo are two great young bats. Then you have Clayton Kershaw, who is having a bit of a rough start but he will get back to his usual self. And Chris Sale. Two ace pitchers on your team. That team, if it's a keeper team, can be at the top by next year.

No it's not a keeper league. The last offer I received was Jones, Kuechal, and Joey Gallo (i think is his name. New guy in Texas) for Donaldson.

If it was a keeper league you would be killing him getting Gallo, he's going to be a stud in a couple of years. But right now he's just up, might even end up getting sent back down in awhile.

Did you offer him Donaldson for Pablo and A. Jones? Tell him that's what it's going to take. If he wants Donaldson as bad as it sounds he'll do it.

You got a hell of a deal. Taking 2 star young players in Jones and Keuchel for him and Pablo is worth the gamble that he turns things around. Plus you got a closer.

Which I desperately needed. Also picked up Siegrist since he is probably taking over clsoer duties if Rosenthal goes on the DL

It's tough because Starling Marte is my favorite player in the entire league. I have his jersey and everything. He's got speed, power, and a fantastic glove.

But since this is a one year league and Adam Jones is probably better than Marte at least right now, I can't say I don't like your end. You're downgrading just a tad at 3B and upgrading just a tad at OF. And then you get Kuechel, and a guy who's getting saves. If you have a spot, I'd pick up Jim Johnson too just in case Grilli starts getting lit up again every night.

Yeah I am always in the market for saves guys. That is something my team is sorely lacking. My hope is that there is enough time left in the season to turn in around. After all, who doesn't want to win the money? Lol
