This could get really ugly. I don't know what has happened to Ireland, their ability to close down and defend is non-existent.

Genuinely a bit fearful for Ireland here. They broke fast out of defence there but within 5-10 seconds Spain were building from the back again.

Also, anyone else find it annoying that Xavi is number 8 while Iniesta is number 6 for Spain, yet are vice-versa for Barcelona. Just a minor thing but it bugs me a little.

If Ireland had defended like this from the start they wouldn't be in such a bad position. While it's 1-0 they still have a chance.

I fear for the punishment Dragon Saga's liver may be taking this evening.

The gap between the centre-backs was far too wide considering how condensed the midfield and defence were just before he was released.

A pub filled with about 60 people roaring the "Fields of Athenry" when Spain scored the fourth goal. I'm proud to be Irish.

We couldn't care. We were never going to win this tournament, we were in it for the fun. An entire country came together in support of a team, led by an Italian, I've loved every moment of it. Felt like I was at the match myself this evening. My voice is next to gone.

And yet Roy "The Spoilsport" Keane says that that kind of defeatism and acceptance of failure is a hurdle that the likes of Ireland will have to get over if they are to ever improve.

:lmao:

Its been ten years since anyone in Ireland cared what Roy Keane has to say.

Becuase Ireland could win a European championship if we were all jut a bit more optimistic. Ill give you optimistic, chanting "were going to win 5-4" in the pub after Fabregas scored. Is Feider linn!!!
