Well, that was a fine game of football. Chances galore and lots of flowing football. Shame about the result but still very entertaining.
Speaking of entertaining, that is what I expect the next game to be. Croatia vs The Republic of Ireland will be a great match, trust me. Both of these teams know that they have to win this match if they want to stand any chance of getting out of this group. With Spain and Italy drawing, the odds are on for an upset if the winner of tonight's match can take some points off of either Spain or Italy. If there was ever a better incentive to go and attack a game, then I'm yet to hear it.
Honestly, that is how it should go. In reality, the shock of being in with a chance of getting out of this group will probably paralyze both teams and it will turn into a tense and cagey affair. Let's hope I'm wrong with this one.
I might be here for the first half alone. My Girlfriend finishes work at half 8 and she might feel a little unloved if I don't talk to her (like what has happened for the last 3 days). Oops.

I can't see either settling for a draw. It is must win. If either wins this game then they defend for their life in the next to games perhaps get a point or two and they may qualify.
If they settle for a draw then they will need to win against Spain or Italy and that will be very difficult. I don't see a lot of quality in the Ireland team. Besides Keane and Given there is no-one in the Ireland team which are all impressive. Croatia have a few good players.

I really hope this is going to be an open game. Ireland are not an easy team to break down, but I hope they don't just invite Croatia onto them.
