There is a new article on WrestleZone.com recapping Eric Bischoff's latest appearance in the Monday Night Mayhem radio show. While they talked about many subjects, one that will stick here is Robert Roode.
Small piece, I know. But for discussion purposes, I separated it and made it the main focus here. Robert Roode has been with TNA since 2004 as the enforcer of the Team Canada stable. The six time World Tag Team Champion is also a part of one of the two biggest American tag teams, Beer Money. A team proven to be a formidable draw on their market having their merch sell well within TNA. Not only that, but as a character he has shown great development as both face and heel. But mainly as a heel during his feuds with Eric Young and Booker T.
I can't really blame Bischoff for thinking Roode's good talent. He really is when you look at him. He has the look and has a way of presenting himself that just makes him stand out as a potential player. To me he reminds me of Triple H himself. As both character and in image. He always sounds intense in his promos and has that sarcastic wit as well. Not only does he seem to have the tools but it seems he is also authority approved. With that little remark by Bischoff, I gotta wonder what the general feeling is on Robert Roode. Can he make it big? Do you feel he should be big? Can he follow on the footsteps of arguably TNA's only breakout star and also faction associate AJ Styles? I sure as hell believe it. With big name backup mixed with his character and image, I truly feel Robert Roode can be as big as any big name on todays field. I feel he's better than most midcarders on TV already.
Bischoff has a high opinion of Robert Roode as a talent.
