Epico and Primo w/Rosa Mendes

It looks like we have a new tag team in the WWE. Last night, Epico and Primo debuted on one of WWE's main television broadcasts (WWE Tribute to the Troops) and had a very impressive showing as they defeated the WWE Tag Team Champions, Air Boom.

I like this pairing. Besides the fact that any additions to the abysmal tag team division are positive, Epico and Primo seem to have a good chemistry. And considering that Rosa hasn't had a meaningful thing to do since she got to the WWE (besides holding up signs and obsessing over Beth Phoenix, some years ago,) it's about time she received a fitting role. Plus, she is so smokin' hot that my eyebrows almost burned off when I watched her ring entrance. (I think she lost a lot of weight, too.)

What does everyone else think of the WWE's newest tag team?

I saw them recently on Superstar, where Primo defeated Kofi. The three of them had an entrance quite similar to MNM, and got decent heat. Primo and Epico do have some good chemistry and are interesting in the ring. It seems like they will likely feud with and win the tag-titles from Air Boom. As for Rosa, this seems to be a way of keeping her from getting fired.

I thought that Hunico was also part of this stable, though he was nowhere to be seen recently.

I like this pairing as well. They have pretty good chemistry, and I like anything that puts Rosa Mendez on tv. Hunico should join, as I don't see him going anywhere quickly in singles competition. More tag teams, more tag teams please!

It's nice to see a fresh Tag Team, especially two guys who are related. The two guys work well together, with Hunico as well when he was around with the Stable. It's nice to give Rosa Mendes something to do, 'cos you know...she's nice to look at & that. However, I can't help but feel it's just a dig at the fail that was and still is Mexican America. You know, two latino guys that are heels in a tag team with some eye candy on the side? It's all familiar, but the WWE have got the right guys in to do the job.

Hopefully, they will stay as a Tag Team permanently, because it give them both something to do. Once you split them up, then nothing is there. They should win the Tag Titles eventually and have a pretty good reign with them I think. Fingers crossed for more of this Tag Team spring clean soon.

I had a feeling this would come up. I will never understand why pro-wrestling fans constantly need to compare characters and tag teams, all the time. Normally, comparisons tend to be a new entity or group with the original entity that had the same idea. In this case, instead of comparing them to Mexican America, in order to be more accurate, shouldn't we compare them to these two:

After all, they were considered to be "Mexican" and have a male wrestler coupled with some eye candy.

How about we stick to treating Epico and Primo like a brand new tag team without having to eye them up, side by side, with a similar pairing from the past?

And considering that Rosa hasn't had a meaningful thing to do since she got to the WWE....

Plus, she's probably the worst ring wrestler of all the divas (which is really saying something). But she looks great and can play the part of valet to great effect, distracting her team's opponents and getting in some cheap shots whenever possible. Finally, a good role for Rosa!

It's great to see Primo get some attention, too. I've long been wondering what in the world they've been keeping him around for; yet, now that he's got something meaningful to do, I get a cruel pleasure hoping that Carlito sees it as a slap in his face...... and proof that staying the course and working hard will eventually pay dividends for a good performer, rather than one who mails in his matches to show his contempt for management.

Hopefully this thread won't turn in to a Mexican-America comparison/parody/stolen idea thread (J4L) since I don't think there is any significant relation.

They are a nice litte tag team and naturally fit together well. No one character dominates over the other in personality or ability. Rosa is sexy and will hopefully play her role well. I like where they are going with this but I hope they lay off the cheap early 90's Mexican stereotypes. I'm ok with modern day cheap Mexican stereotypes, but lay off the old stuff that doesn't work any longer.

Maybe they can name the team Carlito's Way (movie reference)?

The tag team division is shaping up nicely.

Love these guys. I liked them a little better when they were a proper stable with Hunico involved, just because having a singles' guy with them really added to the presence of the group, but Primo and Epico are both individually better than Hunico so he's no great loss. You can tell that Primo and Epico are related, and they really work together and feel like a tag team. Family tag teams have usually been very good. As for Rosa Mendes, she's not great but I'm all for bringing back valets. Maybe we could see a feud with the Usos or Air Boom, two tag teams going on that I love. That'd be a ton of fun!

I just wish they had kept Epico's old theme as the tag team theme. It was great.

as DDP^ said above, i would enjoy Hunico being with them, he still might, havent seen him in a while, but could work well. and i also am enjoying the Uso's right now..

Finally, some new tag team competition. Im Puerto Rican, so of course I love this trio, but aside from that Primo and Epico are two very talented superstars that can wow anyone with their high flying, exciting matches. Rosa Mendes ... damn I thought she'd be released by now. Finally shes on TV, and doing something that can actually fit to her. I think WWE has her with this pair just to add a little spice to it, so lets see how it goes. The reason Hunico is not apart of this stable is because the stable is Puerto Rican, Hunico is Mexican. Honestly when I saw the beginning of the match, I said to myself, damn WWE is just going to make them lose to AirBoom tonight and when I got proved wrong I was totally surprised. Notice it was Evan Bourne who was pinned. Lol, WWE is not stupid enough to break up AirBoom just yet but their going to bring down Evan Bourne as much as possible.

I love this Tag Team!

I said months ago that they needed to bring up Tito, i mean Epico, to team with Primo. And WWE throwing Rosa in as manager/eye candy makes me 10X as happy.

I have never been a fan of any of the 3.
But now they are a Tag Team i love them, simply because there is a new Tag Team!

I do agree with throwing Hunico in there somewhere.
Then turn Hunico face and team him with Sin Cara for a few months. (When he returns ofcourse) They can really put up a few good tag matches, and while they are competeing, WWE cana ficus on even more Tag Teams being made. That is just an idea ofcourse.

Just because they're related, doesn't mean that they automatically have chemistry... Bret and Owen really didn't know each other all that well until they met up in WWF, and they had to work on their in-ring chemistry together.

I honestly loved the tag team of Primo & Tito/Epico but I can't help but think that their win was for nothing more than to slap a "Welcome to Jobberville" sticker on Evan Bourne for his suspension. Also, without Hunico to work as the mic man, I don't see these guys going too far... otherwise, they'll just be like McGuillicutty & Otunga, talented yet boring.

What do you mean Hunico should join? Last I knew, he was in a stable with Epico and Primo. It'll be nice to see Hunico go after some singles gold, while the other two go after the tag gold. We do need more tag teams, but when we think the tag division is picking up, WWE does something stupid and either depushes the team or breaks them up completely.

I like it. A new team with a Valet. You don't really see too much of that these days.

I think Hunico will be added to the group later to make him joining as a shock value.

But I hope they're just not some bland tag team. I hope Rosa Mendez is more than just the eye candy.

What I hope from these guys is maybe a few promos, Rosa playing the part of the evil she-devil, costing Face teams matches to help her boys win.

That's what I would like to see. A nice established heel team that uses heelish tactics with the aid of their valet to win matches. If they're serious about pushing these guys, I would be shocked if they don't have the Tag Titles either by WrestleMania or after 'Mania.

Hope to see more of them, especially Rosa. Man, she was looking too good last night.

Like everyone else, I've been pretty impressed with these two. I'm not sure if Hunico is part of a faction with them or not. He hasn't been out there with them during their matches, but that's not necessarily an indication that they're not working together.

At any rate, Epico & Primo look good together and can deliver inside the ring. Not too sure about how they'll do on the mic, but one step at a time. I'm not surprised they scored a win over Air Boom last night, but I'm hoping that WWE tries to stretch this feud out for a while. Last night was Bourne's first televised match since returning from his suspension and I just think it'd be a mistake to take the titles off him & Kofi at this time. I just have a feeling that WWE is gonna have Air Boom drop the belts, however, in their next match with these two as part of Bourne's punishment. We can all sense, I think, that Bourne is probably gonna be reprimanded and de-pushed now that he's back. All things considered, Bourne & Kingston have been good for the tag titles and rushing to put the titles on Epico & Primo as part of a punishment for Bourne probably won't be doing anyone any favors as it's just too soon for this new team.

I like the fact that WWE hasn't gone the route of turning these two into stereotypical hispanic gangbangers & thugs. It's been done to death and Mexican America in TNA is a great example of how dated and generally piss poor it is.

I'm just glad to see the WWE actually TRY..
And Epico and Primo isn't all that bad, they're pretty ok actually, they did work up the crowd at TLC with tagging in and out which was kind of bugging me a bit (notice #heel)..
I mean it'll take time, since Epico is new and you have Primo who is fresh out of WWE Superstars.. But they're getting there and so is WWE with the tag team division..

I like this new tag team (and watching Rosa dance!).

Along with the USO's they could really help the tag team division (side note, the USO new entrance is AWESOME, only just seen it for the first time).

Rather than just throwing failry established people together and giving them a cheesy name for a quick fix, proper tag teams need developing. Hardy Boys, Dudley Boys, New Agw Outlaws, APA etc were teams that were established and this helped the tag team division. People used to care when the Outlaws were tag team champions, now, not so much.

I like this idea for a tag team. It puts 3 people who weren't doing a heck of a lot and Primo and Rosa basically at the very bottom of the WWE totem poles for respective sexes into a group that instantly has gained some credibility. I like their music, they have good chemistry, they look like a real tag team, AND Rosa is a great dancer. I really hope though they let the Uso's stay parallel to make the division most respectable.

This tag team has been one of the best things in the WWE over the past month. IMO they are a much better tag team than Air Boom (but I can understand why the WWE wants to rebuild the tag team division around those guys). Epico and Primo, with Rosa as their valet can become a very good tag team if the WWE just gives them time. That of course is a big if.

The tag team division might be pretty weak right now, but just give it a year and things will be shaping up rather nicely. Air Boom, Epico and Primo, The Usos, and other young tag teams could actually make the belts mean something again.

I like that they are bringing in new tag teams, Primo is a good wrestler and works well with Epico. Too bad they have that shrieking banshee at ring side.

I enjoyed their recent match with Air Boom and hopefully they are part of the bigger picture for rebuilding the tag division, that Triple H supposedly has.

Right now they are one of three teams getting any consistent air time and are ahead of the Uso's, but the division needs a few more teams so wins and losses can be traded a bit more as opposed to the way it is now.

I hope they are allowed to develop a tag team finisher. That is what used to make teams so exciting, since the Dudley's I can't really remember a team that had an awe inspiring finisher. Any ideas?

I am all in favour of a new tag team, but how long will it last? What are they going to do? Right now all they really seem is a re-incarnation of Mexicool minus the lawnmowers & plus Rosa Mendes. Honestly as much as I love wrestling, the only thing that attracts me to watching these guys presently is Rosa Mendes.
