EOY Awards

IC said when he gets back from his honeymoon he'll post the nominees... around 2nd week of November.

I'm not going to say garbage like "If I don't win ROTY I don't give a shit" because that is total horseshit. I've busted my ass all year to try and gain that accolade and I actually do care about it. However, how can I be that upset if I lose, considering my competition?? As far as I'm concerned, the rookies of 2009 make up for about 80% of the best posts and most rational thoughts that have been put on this site this year. I contributed as much as I had time for and I really feel that I made an impact, so I'm happy.

Pretty much, right here. If I lose to you guys, fine. But I'm not gonna lie. It'd feel damn good. Because I'm the foolish type of person who likes praise.

I like Lariat now.
I'd vote for you.

Myself and Norcal will be doing the Alternative WZ End Of Year Awards, just to let you all know. He's not aware of it yet, but I'm not giving him the choice. But first, I'll have to learn the names of these new people.
Those were the best part last year.

As sad as this statement is, tdigle is right.

Honestly, I created this thread because I legitimately wanted to know the real categories of the EOY Awards, but I also thought it was a fun way for us to make up ridiculous categories and post who we feel should be the winners of them (i.e. M.I.A. Poster of the Year = Tenta). In typical WZ fashion, we have been completely derailed and I just had to sift through 42 pages of jokes, campaigning for ROTY, arguing, banter, and some other funny shit.

If we're gonna talk about real categories and who should win, I'm just going to say that I can't get upset if I don't win (or get nominated) in the ROTY category with guys like Razor, Savagetaker, Phoenix, Dave, Lariat, and the other 2 billion incredible rookies that joined the forum this year. I know what I've done on this forum since January. And what I've done is nothing more than the best that I could. I love wrestling, I love having people to bullshit about it with (even if it's on a computer instead of in person) and I love posting my thoughts on here and getting responses.

It's obvious that the EOY Awards is nothing more than a popularity contest and there's nothing wrong with that. So I'm not the "most popular rookie/n00b" on Wrestlezone... big deal. I'm not losing sleep over it. But why is it such a big deal? I know I've grown from someone who just knew a thing or two about wrestling to a completely well-rounded, strong poster in many of the different rooms on this site. I've earned the respect and backing of guys like IC25, Norcal, Becca, jmt225, and others... And in my opinion, that's plenty of recognition.

So as far as I'm concerned (and back to one of the original subjects that I was aiming for when I created this thread), if there was a category for "Most Underappreciated, Overlooked, Easily-Forgettable, Dark Horse Rookie of the Year," I think I'd take that award. And if I win the real ROTY award, I'll be happy as fuck. But if I walk away with nothing but respect from my peers on this site, even though it won't taste as sweet, I can't help but still appreciate that anyway.

I can't stop forgetting that you're a rookie. I also can't stop loving you....in that way.

GD wins another award... :suspic:

"Another" award??

Your two greatest claims to fame in the comedy department are Crocodile Dundee and Yahoo Serious. So, yeah...

Didn't Matthew Berry write the script for that?

There is much to much self-praise in here. So many of you think much too highly of yourselves. It's ridiculous.

Edit: And there is not nearly enough Razorback love.

Who do you think you are, biznitch?

My grades were poor last year, thanks to WrestleZone. It's good for me that I've taken a few steps back. I may return when things chill out, but you never know. I'll always drop in for a little while every few weeks.

I have straight A's and come on here regularly.

And when people wonder where I've been....

Guys, I've been watching from a distance. Everything. And I can't help but feel as though the banter... It's become downright hateful. I know, people will say there's no personal feelings involved. Bullshit. Everyone is throwing out emotions at one another, and basically creating such a tense forum. It came to a realization tonight for me, when I saw the hatred that's being thrown around. Over an EOY Award? Is it really worth it? For anyone of us?

To all of those I love, X, Dave, Doc, FTS, I love you, and am sorrowed that things like this drive me away. But as it stands, I just can't halp but notice how much anger is being spewed. and honestly, it saddens me to see that good people, people I generally like, are becoming so volatile towards one another, and letting their emotions get in the way.

Guys, let's take this place for what it is... An escape from the harsh, cruel world that is reality. Let's not breed some of that harsh, cruel emotion into what used to be such a fun and (yes) loving place for me.

lol and Tenta coming back to the most hate filled threads every time, it's quite amusing.

After all of this, Coco is looking to have this in the bag.

He's a n00b.

The Awards are going to be funny as shit this year. At least five of you in here are going to have a shit fit when you don't win Rookie Of The Year.

I already bought a pistol in preperation for my loss.

GD is #2.

What's that supposed to mean?

Its a little like Christmas- already the anticipation looks like its going to exceed the actual event :) And we havn't even hit halloween yet.

Personally (and with the awesome weight that my opinion has) I think that the Rookie of the year award should go to either Coco, GD or Dave. Each represents something different, but from my very limited eyes, they are the best in their particular fields.

Quick, a female posted, lets all make her as uncomfortable as possible so she leaves like Rebecca did!
