I would love to see all the hype of a Christian Vs. Edge match, but guess what...Supposedly WM 28 might be in Toronto so if its their the WWE might want to wait one more year for that one but this year i see Chris Jericho returning at the RR and fueding with Edge just like last year, their match at WM 26 was golden and the ending was great I would love for this year to go against each other again

Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio really do seem like the primary choices. It wouldn't make sense to have Edge vs Kane this soon again, and Alberto / Dolph are really the only even remotely over heels compared to the rest of the locker room. As well as they're the only two that would be considered at a worthy level of challenging Edge.

Right now I'm a little torn actually. On one hand Alberto Del Rio has been on a roll, and could easily go into challenging at Wrestlemania from Elimination Chamber and onwards. However, it could just as well end up being Dolph Ziggler due to the fact that not only would there be more time to build it, but Dolph has also been on a roll and would make almost as much sense to give the title shot to right now.

I'm actually hoping a bit for Dolph Ziggler. Sure I like Alberto, but Dolph has been absolutely golden for a longer period of time, and I would absolutely love to see it all pay off by letting him main event at Wrestlemania.

I think people are being a bit short sited, is an inter-brand match really out of the question? Especially given the current weak state of Smackdown's main event scene and the strength of Raw's would it be so far fetched for an inter-brand match to happen? After all last years two main events were both inter-brand matches (Batista was on SD until his feud w/ Cena started).

There is also the possibility that Edge may not even walk into Mania as champ, there is a lot of time between not and Mania, who is to say Edge doesn't piss off the wrong guy or that WWE officials decide Barrett vs Taker should be Title vs. Streak. There are still a lot of things that could happen.

Lets just assume he is still champ though, who should his opponent be? Well my first thought would be;

HHH: Lets see, they have never feuded before in a major way and they have barely ever wrestled each other, this is one of the few main event level feuds that hasn't been seen a million times before and it screams Mania main event. I know WWE seems to be keen on pushing young guys strong but if they want WM to draw big this is the match for it.

The only issue is HHH needs to finish off his feud with Sheamus, no problem though. Lets assume he returns (and wins) the Royal Rumble, in the process he can eliminate Sheamus and reignite their feud. They can then feud for a month leading up to their big blow off match at Elimination Chamber, hey not like it hasn't happened before, an expected Mania main event happening the month before that is (*cough* Angle/Taker and HHH/Austin *cough*) This way HHH is cleared up to feud with Edge leading into WM.

If WWE decides not to go that route there are plenty of other good options in the likes of Christian, Punk, Miz, Alberto or even a freshly heel John Morrison. All of those would make for good feuds and matches but HHH is who I would go with. Also baring Punk a lot of those guys are very fresh to the main event scene, I know Vince is keen on pushing these young heels hard but I can't see the likes of a Del Rio or Ziggler in a Wrestlemania title match so early in their careers.

I'll say this now. If Edge vs Christian does not happen this year, it is never going to happen and Christian will have to spend the rest of his career in the midcard elevating other people.

Let's have a look at the roster. Kane recently feuded with Edge. Del Rio is involved in a feud with Mysterio at the moment and Dolph Ziggler has not main evented a single PPV till now and I don't think that WWE will be willing to experiment at WrestleMania of all places. It won't make any sense for The Undertaker to feud with Edge as there is no way in which Edge would be able to sustain a face reaction against the likes of The Undertaker, and we have seen heel Edge vs face Undertaker too many times. I cannot see how WWE can write Rey Mysterio into a feud with Edge because that would mean that Edge will have to turn heel, which makes no sense at this point. Wade Barrett is another posssibility as he could become the top heel of Smackdown with the formaation of "The Corre" but again he has a readymade storyline against a returning Undertaker and it would be dumb to let that opportunity go.

In Christian's case, WWE don't even have to try that hard to write a storyline between the two. Edge vs Christian at WrestleMania has all the makings of an epic encounter. Edge does not even have to turn heel in order to make this happen. It could be face vs face without being detrimentaal to either guys' heat. The storyline is a very simple one: Two childhood friends who saw WrestleMania as children with dreams in their eyes are now main eventing it. Simple yet epic.

But this will probably not happen. Looking at the how the latest Smackdown has transpired, Edge's opponent for WrestleMania would probably be either Dolph Ziggler or Wade Barrett. With Vickie possibly becoming the GM of Smackdown, I am leaning more towards Dolph. But niether storyline is a Mania main event worthy storyline, at least not more worthier than Edge vs Christian.

I think Dolph could actually work, especially now with Vicki's involvement. I believe that could make it more of a wrestlemania build up too, which has lacked in recent years. Fueds used to be built up from Survivor Series often, now they start before the Rumble and its too soon.

Edge should face one of these two guys, because Edge is leaving in 12months, Kane is in his mid 40s, as is Big Show, as is Undertaker, and Rey has been saying for years his time may soon be up.

Therefore these "midcarders with talent" need to become your main event guys, and they wont do that without big matches, on big ppv's against the remaining big stars.

Randy Orton and John Cena, cant carry a company all by themselves.
