Edge/Undertaker, Hell in a Cell.

The Rob

Telling me I'm invincible..
I watched this match back a few days ago and despite already knowing it was a decent HIAC match, it really was fucking excellent in my opinion. By far the best use of HIAC since PG was introduced. It was the only time I felt like this type of match didn't NEED blood to add to the brutality, some of the spots were fantastic. The very very ending with the Chokeslam to Hell was a terrible piece of booking but everything building up to that was great. Your thoughts?

I loved all of it, I remember going to the gym on base to watch the PPV, trying not to spoil myself on any part of the show. This was when I was in Italy at the time, so we got free PPVs on AFN the Tuesday after they aired in the States. anyway, I was really interested in the feud, mostly because of Mick Foley whom I loved, so I wanted to see what would happen.

I have a really stupid review of the PPV I wrote the day after when I was but a casual fan. I think my initial reaction was "Holy shit". In the good way.

I don't want to watch it ever again. I'd hate to tarnish my good memories of it.

I'm not, my Dad is.

Yeah, so I'm rereading that thread on another board where I reviewed it. So many memories. I seriously thought Jericho was going to take on Stone Cold at Wrestlemania that year, or at the least Jerry Lawler. And damn did I hate Shelton Benjamin.

Kind of funny how Lawler is actually going to Wrestlemania this year...

Jericho was so misused that year. Even if he couldn't have his match with Rourke, a singles bout with Lawler or Steamboat would have been the way to go. Piper and Snuka were embarassments.

I remember this match.

It was basically a TLC match with a big mesh cage around it. Rather enjoyable for what it was.

It was an alright match. Not a classic hell in the cell. Though you really can't have one with the pg era in place. The ending really just ruined the whole thing for me.

I generally think a good match needs more than just Edge doing dozens of sloppily executed spots. And The Undertaker talking into a camera that isn't connected to anything.
