Dusts and Miz's.

Occasional Pre-Show
I have been thinking over recent weeks about how the Dust brothers and the Miz's will split, and I think both are showing tension recently.

What do you think to this scenario? Miz's vs Dusts in a tag team no.1 contenders match. Goldust and The Miz turn on their partners. They are sick of their partners mocking them and stealing the spotlight. Mizdow can turn baby face, as can Rhodes. Could even see a face Rhode Scholars reunion? Ends up setting the long awaited Rhodes vs Goldust Wrestlemania match, and probably Miz vs Sandow at Fast Lane.

Is this a plausible idea? If so do you like it?

Sounds plausible, all right. As to whether it will happen I don't see it. Look, despite the Ascension debut the WWE is still in need of Tag Teams. Splitting up two of them just won't work that well. Miz and Mizdow can split and I'd be fine with it, but the Dust Brothers shouldn't. They're much better off as a tag team and it makes sense since they are brothers. I'd be fine with a one-off match to prove who's better, but that's it.

Well I wouldn't complain. We were given the Dust Brothers basically with a promise of, they will break up soon. Now it's half a year later and they're still together. I don't agree with their match being at Wrestlemania(I mean why should it be?). I'd much rather see a Cody Rhodes/Sandow match. I don't know how they'd book it to make it work, and I'd want both to be faces. But these guys get handed gimmicks and they make all of them work. Maybe Sandow breaks off from Miz and Cody blames Sandow for breaking him and his brother up? I really don't know. But there's more upside to this match in my opinion.

But I do like the idea of face Rhode Scholars, if we're going to lose 2 tag teams than we might as well get a new one in it's place. I mean, where else do they belong on the card? Main event scene is gradually getting crowded and face saturated, and both of these 2 are most likely going to be faces post break up. But then a new face team makes the tag team division a mess again. ND are faces. Usos are faces. Ascension are heels? RS would be faces. LM are faces. So maybe the WWE would have to turn one more team heel? But Usos as heels couldn't work right now(I think) so maybe New Day?

I'm rambling, I like your idea though

Is the company was looking to separate them, even though they had short time together, the time to separate them is now. I don't like the Mizdow or Stardust plan. Miz is just too good to be prepared up in tag team division.

I really hope Miz finds himself in a better card and back up in the main event, alone.

Wait, what? You want to split up not one but two tag teams that the division desperately needs? I'm going to have to respectfully disagree on both ideas.

Goldust and Stardust are extremely entertaining. They should not ever split up until it comes time for Goldust to retire, then Stardust could stay in the Stardust gimmick as a midcarder and compete for the Intercontinental or US Championship. They are the most entertaining team in the division right now, keep them where they are going to be needed the most. What good would a split do? Goldust would lose the inevitable feud and fade into jobber obscurity while Stardust might go after a midcard belt, but both could be a focal part of the tag team division for a good while. It's best to keep them there for now. Keeping one of the best teams around for the tag team division would be what's best for business.

As for Miz and Mizdow.... Miz bragging while Mizdow mimes everything he does.... Their bit is hilarious. Mizdow is hands down the more talented (and more popular) of the two, so at some point this does need to end in Mizdow turning face on Miz.... That can wait though. Why split up this hilarious team now? The division needs more teams and they can still make a difference there. I'd have kept the belts on them so that they can feud with The Ascension over the Tag Team Championship. Standing up to Miz could lead to a Wrestlemania moment for Mizdow, but let's face the facts. Would he go back to being the intellectual character and actually get a chance, or would he be jobbed out again? Mizdow is in a position where he can provide hilarity to a team in a division where more names are needed. I'd keep them together for a bit longer, but I'm open to a split later down the line so Mizdow can turn face and get a real push.

Both teams are needed right now, thus I disagree with splitting up either one of them anytime soon.

Yes, that's the rub. WWE has made aborted efforts over the past few years to restore the tag team division, experiencing limited success because they seem to abandon the effort just when it seems they might be getting something going.

Fans who want to see Miz & Sandow break up are bound to get their wish, probably sooner than later; this was a team that was formed for the purpose of splitting. Whether management had in mind advancing the career of Damien Sandow....or whether they just wanted to entertain us for awhile with an interesting gimmick......it was plain this was going to be a temporary team.

The Dust Brothers are another thing; surely a gimmick in which a permanent alliance was intended. Of course, the word "permanent" is always tenuous in pro wrestling, but the simple notion of having two guys running around with the same weird gimmick seems to work only if they are a team.

Honestly, I haven't been wild about the Rhodes pairing; there's only so much weirdness one can take. Still, they always put on entertaining matches ....plus, the company hasn't been soaking us with their strange personae; that's reserved for their intro before the match starts. After that, it's down to business, which is good.

In all, Dagger is correct in pointing out that if the tag division is ever to succeed, it needs to keep people together, not split 'em apart. After all, Ascension is going to need people to fight once they advance beyond beating up teams of guys we never heard of before.

Rhodes Scholars! I loved them as a tag team. One of the best tag teams to never win the tag team titles. However, Sandow and Cody been in the tag team division long enough. It's time for them to go back into the Singles Division. Goldust and Miz should become a tag team instead. I believe they say Goldust is from Hollywood. Miz acts like he's a Hollywood star, they're a perfect match and could keep a tag team in the division while WWE develops their younger stars - Sandow and Cody.
