Don West

Anybody else find Don West annoying? I don't know. Just his voice kind of grates on you like bedbugs chewing on your crotch at night.

Also, it seems like he whines while defending the heels.

I thought the day of the "announcer who sucks every heels dick" was over.

It's not just that. We're supposed to give opinions on our statements, but I'm having a rough time. He just...annoys me.

There's something about the pitch of his voice. "Oh, come on! Kurt Angle and the Mafia are this. They're that. They're...(swallow). Jeff Jarrett is ungrateful! Foley is God, blah blah blahX100000."

Again, I'm sorry that I can't give a real reason. I don't dislike the man personally, but I just think he sucks as an announcer. Tenay is pretty good. I think he deserves better. JOEY STYLES WHERE ARE YOU?

i've never been a Don West fan, but his heel commentary is WAY better than his face one. he'd suck up to Tenay, making him seem like the best play by play/commentator guy ever. this is the best thing for him, hopefully he tones it down with his voice though.

I hated Don West when he was a face with Tenay a while back. I think his new heel persona added color to what was lacking. Also, his commentary during the Mick Foley vs. Rocky cutout slayed me. It also did the trick when he said it took Mick Foley 3 years to book Webo the Clown. Long live Heel/ Face announce teams which is something we have been lacking from WWE for a long long time.

Personally I find Don West and Mike Tenay BOTH to be absolutely HORRIBLE! From their ridiculous facial expressions, their complete lack of acting ability, and they always seem to act like EVERY single moment or match in TNA is as serious as someone dying right in front of them. It's one thing to act serious, like The King and Cole do when someone is suppose to be seriously injured or something and it's another thing to do it ALL the time. I mean, it could be just some randon match with someone getting the same finishing move that has been seem a million times and they act like it is the most devastating move in the world. They are pathetic and are one (just one) of the reasons that I quit watching TNA.

Mike Tenay is the best at what he does. Don West is a great salesman but they are still trying to find his place in commentary. At least now we laugh at Don West instead of getting annoyed at hearing him state the obvious.

Last night was the first time I watched TNA in a few months. It kept me entertained throughout. Just the over-the-top craziness of it all was just fun. I'm not sure if I'd like that every week, but its good every now and then.

I told you that story so I could tell you this one...

Don West had me laughing out loud throughout the entire broadcast. I found his commentary absolutely amazing. He may not be the best at what he does, but he makes the most of what he has. I remember him being very annoying and hard to listen to. But this "heel" turn has made his commentary brilliant. He was head and shoulders better than Tenay, who always comes across as an arrogant prick.

So I like this new Don West. He seems like that lives down the road from you that always makes inappropriate comments. You know the guy.

Damn! Okay. Maybe I was a little harsh. I'm kind of old, and remember Bobby the Brain always putting over the heels. Of course, he was a legendary announcer, and maybe I'm not used to heel announcers anymore.

Lawler used to be a heel announcer, and I USED to find him annoying, too.

Maybe I need to look at this both ways. The babyface announcers can be annoying, too.

I respect everyones opinion. Maybe I'll give Don another shot.

LOL. If he really lives near you, don't tell him what I said. He looks like a bit of a psycho.

Without a doubt Don West has improved but do I consider him as a good commentator ? Heck NO !

His yelling is still annoying and not necessary, it ruins the atmosphere of a match, he should leave his yelling to an impressive spot and don´t break out because of an arm drag.

I believe I´ve said this in another West thread before but overall Don lacks the talent to become a good commentator.

I find his Husky voice annoying, and the fact that he screams so loud when a move comes, i really have to put my sound down and that really annoys me.

Don West my opinion is the worst commentator on the plannet out of all the "big time" wrestling promotion (TNA, WWE). I havent liked him since i started watching TNA. What was the point of him turning heel anyway?

I'm not really a fan of Don West at all, the guy is just annoys me in a way that the heel commentator isn't supposed to. I'm supposed to be annoyed AND entertained by it. Guys like Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan had the chemistry that kept me constantly entertained, particularly if Heenan had some sort of personal interest in the match. I don't think Mike Tenay is all that great either, but he's head, shoulders and ass above West. I don't think they really have that chemistry, they don't play off of each other convincingly. West just isn't whiney enough for me, tries to come across as too dignified. The guy's voice also annoys the crap out of me. Whenever he starts screaming, he sounds as if he's about to have an asthma attack any second. I know it's not the guy's fault, but it is what it is.
