Meh! Messi out injured for a couple of months. :(
Luis Suarez with both goals in a Barca win. :)

Meanwhile, CR7 fails to score yet again as Madrid are held scoreless by Malaga. :D

FIFA rejected Barca's request for Arda Turan's addition to the squad also. Down to the bare bones until close to Xmas. Time for Suarez n Neymar to step up big time.

Good. Why should we bend the rules for Barcelona? They have a massive amount of players and hugely popular and talented pool of players. Just because Messi is out, doesn't mean that they can't cope. What a nerve Barcelona have.

Because we're Barcelona, that's why!

Na, seriously, wasn't expecting FIFA to 'bend the rules' at all regardless of the situation. That said, I am sure the club were hoping for some 'mercy' in light of Rafinha's injury more than anything and that's why they bothered to place the request at all.

Barca are *****. Genuinely.

They know the rules and they broke them. Then they get a punishment and they want FIFA to overrule it? General ******* behaviour.

The launch of my coaching career today as I lead the mighty U19 B team of my school. Magnificent group, great character. We are currently driving out into the middle of the desert for the match. Current temperature: 37 degrees centigrade.

Lost 4-2. We were 3-0 down and we got it back to 3-2 until they scored at the death while we were bombing forward. They were miles better than us - we almost succeeded thanks to having a hard working group of lads, and some of my ideas worked.

The pitch was literally in the middle of nowhere - like 20 miles outside of the city.

Mata's assist just gets better each time I watch it.

The last 15/20 minutes were pretty horrendous to watch last night as there didn't seem to be anyone who could just put their foot on the ball and calm the team down. That said, Darmian gave a good account of himself during that time.

Magnificent group? Great character? Hello Brendan

Hey Tasty, there's a job going in Dundee if you fancy it. I'm not overly enthused by most of the candidates for the job so far and I can vouch you're a solid bloke who seems fairly committed.

Id love the job in Dundee, but I have a project with this under 18bs team, and I must complete it. Also, I'm fairly confident Brendan Rodgers will become available once the bitters beat us on the weekend.

It's interesting they chose to sack him this soon into the season. If the reports are true that he would have been sacked regardless of if they had won the derby leads me to believe that they spent all of last week lining up a replacement or they plan to go balls to the wall with it during the international break and hope to pick one up then.

Sunderland are going to get caught one year and I'm fairly confident it's this one. Newcastle have the players to save themselves, Sunderland don't and the rotating has to herald a relegation sooner or later.

As for Liverpool - I'm assuming Rogers went now because Klopp is who they want and he's being lined up by Bayern for the job there once Guardiola leaves at season's end.

I'm enjoying certain pundits losing their mind over his potential appointment. For example, Chris Sutton: 'He failed at Dortmund - on the second highest budget in the Bundesliga he came seventh'. Y'know disregarding the fact that he took a club from financial meltdown to European football to champions of Germany to double winners to the European cup final. Even in his last season where he 'failed' he brought them from the foot of the table at Christmas to a Europa League spot and a German Cup final.

That and he basically reeks of awesomeness and shits charisma unlike the ever so uninspiring Brendan 'great character' Rogers. But y'know 'British managers, rah, rah, British managers'.

While Sutton is exaggerating, there is more than a hint of truth in what he says. It shows Klopp for the loose cannon he really is. Extreme highs but almost catastrophic lows and then walks away. He is a gamble.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad that Liverpool are actually looking at highly regarded managers for once and seem able to attract him, but given the real root of our woes, I would rather have Ancelotti to come in and sort out the defence once and for all.

As for the whole needing a British manager thing, I think Liverpool have earned the right to look abroad considering we have given Brits plenty of opportunity to manage the club.
