Domestic football - spam version

Asamoah Gyan ritually sacrificed his friend to enhance his career apparently, not sure if thats old news, still sounds a bit fishy though, he's not that good really.

It is the most outlandish story I've heard of the day. Well that after Newcastle winning a game.

What a goal by Jag. Totally out of the blue. Injury time equalizer too.

And how poor was Balotelli today? He was only looking to shoot even when he was outside the penalty box and crowded by defenders. Not looking to pass even in midfield and not even bothering to make runs for his midfielders.

I think I'm going to start supporting Crystal Palace from now. That way, if they win the European Cup, UEFA Cup, 3 FA Cups and 4 League Cups over 25 years, I might appreciate it rather than moan how shit we are on facebook.

Balotelli is perhaps the one thing that I would criticise BR for.

Not the signing of him but the playing of him as essentially a lone striker. We have been far more a 4-5-1 team this year than the fluid 4-3-3/4-4-2 system we ran last year and it has been shown in our lack of goals.

Sure, he can hold the ball up with his strength and wait for support but I think Balotelli looked his most threatening when there has been someone up alongside him so he may well mesh well with Sturridge.

While Sturridge was injured, I would actually liked to have seen more of the Balotelli/Borini partnership. If Borini shares any traits with Suarez it is that he does not give defenders a moments peace and that could help take the heat off Balotelli to do the full court press and provide the spark/finish in the box.

Hmm, Rogers was lucky to fall into a team originally built by Kenny Dalglish. Oh, and Luis Suarez (Dalglish again) was easily the only thing that mattered about that Liverpool side. Besides, if Rogers was a bit more savvy you'd never have lost the league at Palace. Unless I am missing something, has he made a signing thats particularly noteworthy?

I dunno, I am picturing a Suarez less Liverpool to slide back into mediocrity. But then, I am usually wrong with football predictions, unless its the World/European Cup, in which case I've won big money for the last 8 years... so about 4 times.

I think you have to give Rodgers the signings of Sturridge and Coutinho as being good. I would say that Lallana looks like he might fall into that bracket as well, but it is early days.

And to say that BR did not make a difference is being unfair. The team's style is completely different (for mostly good but also at times ill) and after a season of bedding in we jumped from 7th to 2nd, perhaps within one slip of winning the title. A flash in the pan? It might be but I would argue that there are some mitigating circumstances (as well as the poor tactical decisions I mentioned above - although I blame the players rather than the manager for the capitulation at Palace)

Suarez definitely made a big difference - how could he not? But when he was banned last season, we played just as well. And not only have we lost Suarez, we haven't had the pace of Sturridge either for much of the opening of this season.

Leighton Baines' penalty is saved - David de Gea just broke the streak.

David de gea just won united the game 3 saves late on, 2 of which were world class, on top of the penalty. If results go our way we're in the top 4 probably not for long though with games against city and chelsea. 2 miracles happen and united get 2 wins against them and their laughing.

It was nice to see Rafael of two seasons ago return today and McNair manage to keep Lukaku relatively quiet.

Sitting off Everton for the last 20 minutes was a bit too nerve-wracking for my tastes given their penchant for late goals as well as United conceding late goals. Alls well that ends well I suppose.

I really do not see what people see in Ozil.

Takes far too many touches and frequently is nowhere in the game, although I don't think he is helped by the baffling tendency to play him on the flank.
