It's cool, we all know that Fergie's criticism of Gerrard and Henderson inspired them, which inspired Liverpool in turn.

I've read in more than one place that the title is Liverpool's to lose. While I like that, I dont think the maths add up. City have to win every match or at least better Liverpool's results in the run-in, Liverpool have to beat Chelsea and City and can at best afford one defeat to anyone that isn't Tottenham, City or Chelsea.
I'm waiting to see if I can get an away ticket to Palace vs Liverpool. There's no chance of us needing a result to win the league there but I can dream. That really is a long shot that relies on everyone but Liverpool losing twice more before the end of the season.
Here's a question I'm genuinely interested in knowing - has any team won the League in any country after not being in Europe? I can't think of anyone in the last twenty years.

Juventus maybe?
Probably some team in one of the much lower ranked European countries but in one of the majors, even I doubt the Juventus claim.

In purely mathematical terms, it is now Liverpool's to lose. Win their last seven games and they are the champions.
But the same can be said for City.

I still find it nuts just how far ahead Shearer is ahead of anyone in the PL goal-scoring charts and that Andy Cole is currently in 2nd.
Makes me wonder how long we would have to wait for those 2 to not feature in the top 10 at all. Rooney is 4 behind Henry and probably won't overtake Cole this season but conceivably could next year. Lampard is the next highest scorer currently playing after Rooney but may be off to the Galaxy next year.
We probably won't be here but I'd guess it would take at least a decade for Cole and Shearer to be displaced from the list.

Bundesliga. The one that left the deepest impression was Kaiserslautern in the late 90s who won the title the season they were promoted.
Stuttgart won it in 06-07 after not being in Europe too.

YNWA people, believe that. Now I am not totally convinced Liverpool will be champions this season but I am absolutely ecstatic that it is almost guaranteed Liverpool will be back in the Champion's league next season. Be interesting to see if Suarez beats Shearer's record of most goals in an EPL season which I believe from memory is 31.
