Domestic football - spam version

After that outburst the fantasy league is pretty tight at the top.

Apparently, Stoke fans are going to be extra scummy this weekend against Arsenal. There's reports that they're planning to throw a fake leg onto the pitch at some point.

Classy people.

What exactly are you doing? Trying to act tough on a wrestling forum?

Since when is telling someone your laughing at them acting tough?

I was born in London and came to Australia when I was 8.
So for the last say 10 years you have lived over 9,000 miles more from white hart lane then i do from Anfield. You really are a fucking idiot aren't you.

You know someones argument has gone to shit when they resort to correcting grammar.

Carry on clever clogs.

Stoke fans can't afford to buy plastic legs purely for the purpose of throwing on on a football pitch, silly.

So much anger.

Is this a joke? You're not even a real Liverpool fan and I'm the idiot? I'm from London. You're Irish. If you were growing up right now you'd be a Chelsea/City/Arsenal fan.

You can be a true fan if you support no particular team. But you can't experience football in the same way as most if you've made the decision to support one of the top teams.

Because i swore twice, ok then.

For what it's worth i started following them in 2003, hardly an exciting time.
And if you hold that opinion about what makes a "real" fan then i don't think this forum is for you seeing as we have 5-6 Irish people here who support English teams, a Gillingham fan who supports Totenham and a Liverpool fan who used to have a Fulham season ticket.

I get plenty of that experience at home as my local County team in Gaelic football are ranked about 31 out of the 34 teams that take part. Same with Rugy supporting connacht and those are two sports i have more interest in then football.

Another one of those arguments about how you cannot be a true football fan unless you support your local team.

Oh joy.

It's not that at all. I don't think you can't be a fan of a team if you're not a local, it's just supporting one of the big clubs (for obvious reasons) is pathetic if you aren't a local.

Attempts at gaining a Champions League place can't compare with the genuine fear of relegation, getting in or just missing out of the play-offs, promotion to a higher league, defeating a team considerably better than you in the cup or league etc. You miss out on so much if you decide to pick a team based on their standing.

Thats why I support Gillingham, geniune elation last year combined with bowel knotting terror this year. I am fond of Spurs because everyone round here supports Arsenal, but its worth noting they were pig shit when I started cheering them and offer similar highs and lows. Yay 4th! Ah FUCK you Chelsea!

I do love it when the local Man United and Liverpool fans go at it, not a Manc or Scouse accent to be heard, does make me wonder why they're so fierce, but hey, its the nature of the beast.

Pathetic or completely logical?

When I was growing up, Liverpool were on the television far more than any one else and winning things. Why would my 6 year old self not choose to support them?

Having said that, while I support Liverpool, I would not count myself as any sort of fanatic. I don't hate Everton and am not completely blinkered to their standard, drawbacks etc. For me, that makes me a 'better' fan and for the most part far more knowledgeable than any diehard.

Yeah you're an idiot. I'm a huge Liverpool fan, bigger than anyone I know. Simply because it was ingrained in my head in childhood. I'm as invested in their fortunes as any Scouser.

You're just wrong.

I should point out my child self started watching in the Souness era. I don't remember watching them win the league and I first went to Anfield in 1992.

Don't hurt me, please. Why are people on here so volatile?

I just feel that a football club represents more than just sport; it represents the area and the people in which it sits. Kind of weird supporting a club if you don't really have any roots or connections to it.

But, it's just my opinion. To each their own.

You called others pathetic and want to cry about being called out?

If you feel that way support the club that are more like Athletic Bilbao and less like Arsenal. Oops...

I'm trying to understand your point. How is that denial?

The point being you failing to see the irony of your earlier posts about your beliefs on the narrow definition of how one should pick a club to support and your own situation.
