Aaron Ramsey is a fucking beast. It's like he and Theo have a freaky Friday deal going on, with Ramsey scoring for fun and Theo having trouble.

When that midfield are all in form they're monstrous. If Arsenal could sort out their defence I'd make them clear favourites for the title.

Except it won't. Wenger refuses to build a squad who can challenge and he can't motivate his players anymore to manage a consistent run of form.

While Ramsay has started the season well, his form has yet to override the 2 years of absolute garbage he produced. There were times last season when I thought he had never played football before in his life. On the swingometer of form, he is still closer to "shit" than "beast" but there are positive signs.

As for Arsenal mounting a title challenge, they do not have enough quality coverage across the park. A strong midfield going forward but defensively cannot yet be be trusted. The defence itself can also not be trusted and the attack is lacking that one top quality leading man.

Having said that, even with such holes in their squad, there is very little reason why the likes of Arsenal cannot mount a challenge, mainly because their main rivals do not look anything special right now. I mean Man Utd won the title at a canter last year by being slightly less mediocre than everyone else and are not much better at the moment. Man City are ridiculously inconsistent while Mourinho seems set on stamping his personality on Chelsea even if it means sacrificing their stability.

The likes of Arsenal, Spurs and maybe even Liverpool should be trying to take full advantage of that and steal a march on them.

Consistent run of form? Except for the mishap at Villa, we've won all of our last 15 matches. Sure, some of that streak may stretch back to last season, but to say we can't be consistent is flat out wrong.

All it takes is one season to go from shit to star. That's the beauty of football.

With that said, people are still underrating Arsenal. Third least goals conceded last year, and second least conceded away from home. Our defence can't be that bad. Yes, our goalscoring is a bit of an issue. But Giroud is clearly capable of holding down the fort till January, with help from the others. But yes, the new managers in other clubs are doing wonders for us.

In the last sixteen games Liverpool are second only to Arsenal for form so I appreciate that they have done well but they had to be that good because without they would be seeing Spurs in the Champions League. They scraped in.

I still believe Arsenal will be the ones most likely to lose out of the top four. It all depends on how they can manage their wafer thin first team. Ramsay is in the form of his life but can he maintain it? How long until Mertesacker gets exposed? Or Szcesney (sp)? Hell, they should be top right now because they should have had enough to beat Villa.

It'll only take a run of three games without a win for the fans to be on Wengers back about not investing. Especially if they dont get results against their rivals.

It's an enviable position really. Liverpool have similar problems but no CL.

It's been this way for over 20 and it's only growing in popularity. In this country, football is recession proof, it's so deeply ingrained into communities at every level that it's ritual. Broadcast TV has a longstanding highlight package legally protected by the government under culture laws.

Plus, there's a lot of cup and international matches on basic cable, as well as Match of the Day. And there are plenty of people who watch football online, legally or otherwise. So yeah, there are ways to watch it other than getting financially mauled by Sky for their sports channels.

I guess it's a cultural thing too. I don't think it would work here

+ in the UK there is not as much competition from other sports Leagues. What's the 2nd major sport in the UK? Rugby or Cricket?

Arsenal are really the only ones who could challenge. Spurs don't stand a chance because they've lost their only truly quality player (and Soldado is far more overrated than Bale will ever be), whilst Liverpool are just going to be Liverpool (I see them finishing behind Swansea, Norwich and Aston Villa this year).

You're talking like every player in our team has to be playing brilliantly all the time. No team is consistently good for every match, every season. United, City and Chelsea have all lost matches they shouldn't have both this season and last, but they're still worthy of being considered challengers.

All the top teams have dropped points they shouldn't have already. The fact is, Arsenal have been the best team in the league over the last three games, and that's with Arteta, Podolski, Vermaelen, Cazorla and Ox out for some or all of those games and Ozil only playing in one of those three games. So yeah, I'm pretty optimistic at the moment.

Faith in Oscar repayed? He's good but Chelsea don't have me convinced. Actually none of the top teams do so far. But meh, its been 5 games.

On true top form, Yaya Toure is the best midfielder in the league. Power, pace, passing.

The thing that stops him from being consistently ranked up there is that he has an inate streak of laziness in him.

Long time coming but managed to grab the win. I do feel (a bit) for Cardiff though, they put up a fight and I was convinced it would end level.

In other news, Tottenham kept me waiting for £100 this afternoon. Absolutely devastating would not have covered it if my own team busted my coupon.

I put Brady on the bench yesterday but because of RVP being MIA he drops back in. Thank fuck. I should have 68 points this week.

Can't fucking believe it, he was doing a great job and ruining them.
