Domestic football - spam version

Apologies if I've been overly aggressive here, but it's something that really irks me when people go on about Liverpool and Hillsborough. The fact of the matter is that it is one of the worst accidents to have happened in peace time in this country, and just about the worst that's not mining related since the first world war and once a year the football community is asked to keep quiet for a minute to remember the dead.

Football, when all is said and done, is just a game. And when we start to take that game more seriously than the deaths of 96 people, most of them under 30 years old, we really have lost the plot.

Antonio Di Natale what a legend, he's taken guardianship of the severely handicapped sister of Piermario Morosini.

Just heard about him. Poor fella.

Respect for Natale.

Also, from a Boro fan here, their win was way overdue. I don't know how good they would do in BPL with current squad, but they can be an efficient team.

Danny Welbeck and Kyle Walker in the PFA young player short list?

:lmao:

It's fucking ridiculous. Tim Krul should be on the young player list.

Pretty damn awful list. Sturridge has done jack shit, Oxlade-Chamberlain has had like 50 minutes this whole season, Welbeck can't score if CarltonBanks' life depended on it, Gareth Bale gets the biggest media jacking-off on a constant basis when in reality he's done very little this season. Oh, and don't get me started on Walker. And yes, it is pretty sad that Aguero is the frontrunner seeing as he runs around like a headless chicken on crack.

The main list is not too bad. I agree with the four attackers.

Parker has not been all that much better than any other defenisve midfielder this year, while Joe Hart has not been all that outstanding compared to other keepers.

Instead, I would have had Kompany on there. He has easily been the best defender in the league this year.

As for a sixth, there are a couple who have had good seasons but have maybe missed large enough portions of playing time to be disbarred from selection - I am thinking particularly of Antonio Valencia. For me, he has easily been the best winger in the league this calendar year. Suarez is another who gets skipped because of the games (not to mention goals) he has missed. I would not have complained at all is Ba was on the list either.

I would also give an honourable mention to Skrtel. Aside from perhaps the last fortnight, he has been a major reason why Liverpool are not in a worse position than they already are.

However, the Young Player list just proves the bias towards big teams and English players.

They're still trying to clean up the mess that Strachan made when he was manager but they have a good chance of getting in the play offs. Mowbrays a good manager though if they got promoted in the play offs and gave him some money to spend he could keep them up.

Proof that football players know fuck all about football. Parker even got on the senior short list, it's not like anyone is going to beat Van Persie to it but Dempsey, Song and Vorm should have gotten a mention.
There's no way Welbeck had a better season then Krul or Sinclair.

Show me footage of Liverpool fans chanting songs about Munich that are completely audible on national television. Not some grainy footage off a mobile phone, actual television pictures, where it is so audible that the club have had to apologise, the referee has had to take action and the television commentator has passed comment, and I'll concede this.
This. Hell, I'll take any two of these points.

Agger's had a good season too when played at CB (even though the mix up on Saturday is inexcusable). Agger and Skrtel have been (by and large) imperious as a pair. I'm just happy Carra is no longer first choice. Sooner he retires, the better.

That influx of 'gritty Scottish blood' sucked utter ass. Southgate was taking it the right way. Adding pace and finesse. It is one of his signing in Emnes who has been wonderful at times.

Aguero has been good enough to be nominated. He has done his share and for his first season he's been damn impressive. What's Bale done to be there? He's done nothing of significance this year. I hope Evans is there. He has stepped in nicely in Vidic's role. Mata, RVP, Ben Arfa, all done good in my eyes.

European football? Five points off 3rd with a game in hand? Not even kicked a ball this weekend.

Toon Toon.

Evans? Fuck off.

You know I kinda did and I still think Evans did a great job. I will try harder.

Evans has been mechanical. Nothing flashy. Has done his role dillgently without much pomp.

Jonny Evans definitely has improved in the last few months.

However, that is not saying much because before that he was not fit to wear a Fleetwood Town shirt never mind that of the Champions Elect. Or even his national side...

Wheesht you. Evans has done well. He was shaky at the start of the season but has come on leaps and bounds since Vidic has been out. He's shown these glimpses before, but now he's had a consistent run of games under his belt we're seeing it more and more. I'd have liked Jones to get more games/minutes this season, but he's had a decent first season.

If there's a team I wouldn't mind losing to at this stage of the season, it's Wigan.

Facing Wigan in April/May time?

Gary Neville is a joy to listen to just now with the debate over diving. He's played the Klinsmann card and even the Ronaldo card too. Now he's talking about food and coffee, like how a milky coffee became a latte. Wise words.
