It'll be a good signing given the African Cup of Nations is coming up, though Alex Song will likely be a bigger miss than Gervinho or Chamakh.

I didn't post about it yet simply because I still believe I'm dreaming. Van Persie and Henry up front may be the best combination of finishing skill, pace, tekkers and heading ability ever. FUCK. And, Wilshere's back.

Alex Song isn't going. Cameroon never qualified. Also, Chamberlain will do fine in replacing Gervinho and Chamakh is about as useful as a flat tire.

Some thoughts on tonights game:
Gerrard + Carroll + Suarez + Bellamy could be an awesome combo.
Newcastle were pretty toothless and surprised me how poor they really were. It was frustrating that it took Stevie's introduction to break them down.
Downing would be incredible with some end product. As it is, he is our Theo Walcott, minus Walcott's electric pace and decent finishing skill. Awful waste of cash, wasted on the right flank.
Steven Gerrard = LEGEND. We keep him fit and we may be able to salvage this rotten season.

We were fucking terrible but here's my rant.

That was some of the worst refereeing I've seen in ages for both sides, I counted twice where the ref got in the way tackling a player (both teams). bHe should have sent Jonas off who was on a yellow.

The first goal was 100% Demba Ba's. Why give it to Agger as an OG then give Bellamy's second as his when Danny Simpson notted it in.

Obertan is shit. Tiote was terrible and had some role in all three liverpool goals. You can have him for the £20mil you're offering.

Liverpool deserved the win but the ref was as shit as half our team were.

I was planning to add comments on the ref. He was abysmal. And the most conclusive replay on the goal was that it came off Agger but I think the initial shot was on target - Reina seemed to have it well covered.

Ba is a good player, Tiote has an engine but was all muscle and no brain. Cabaye is decent but Obertan was sold by United for good reason.

Thought the Newcatle goal was Cabaye's myself. He flicked it on before it hit Agger's shoulder. Bellamy's free kick was going in so any kind of deflection does not take it away from him.

Newcastle were very poor offensively. Cabaye was anonymous meaning that Ba was completely isolated, despite looking dangerous on the few times he got the ball.

Hats off to Skrtel though. A Newcastle equaliser would have ripped the Liverpool heart out

Tirdest cliche in football - the necessity of a Makelele ball winner.

Busquets doesn't really do it in the way suggested, Barcelona seem to be fine.
Man United have never had one, unless you count Djemba-Djemba. Seem to be fine.
Most teams to have won the Champions League this century did it without one.

It's the easiest place on the pitch to look world class. I like Lucas, but the way people are saying we should desperately replace him is ridiculous. They've conceded about three goals since he was injured. Big deal. A much bigger problem is the crippling lack of a finisher.

Suarez's finishing ability is shockingly bad. Carroll's style isn't suited for Liverpool. Bellamy is far too much like a winger. Someone like Higuain or Benzema would slot in perfectly, if you ask me.

On another note, happy birthday Tastycles!

I wonder how Blackburn get on at Man U. Must be an easy 9-0 for the champions today. ;)

If City win today, I'd say our season in the Premier League is done so we may as well give Torres a run of games in the line-up to see if he's worth keeping.

To be fair the mackems were cracking all game. Citeh did their cocky "turn up to win" thing.

I'm currently working on today's RAW LD, and I'm looking for an image, but whilst on Google images, I ran into this:

I had heard Cena was a Spurs fan, but I wasn't aware he'd been given the whole shirt/photo treatment.
