Domestic football - spam version

I'll set one up if nobody else does. I genuinely laughed at my own team name this year, though it's so good that it absolutely must have been done thousands of times before:

My mates voted you best name in our league last year with Jermaine De Friend. Winjaldum Leviosa was 2nd.

I misunderstood what you originally meant, thought you were just asking who participated in the league.

I thought it was either you or Dave that made it?

Wasn't me last year, was the previous years but not last year.

Everyone make a team and assuming it's Dave he can renew the league, if not then Sam can make a new one.

Pogba's role is going to likely be one or two passes removed from assisting a goal and breaking up attacks on the cusp of the last third, so I don't see him bagging a lot of goals or assists. He'll hopefully be a much more dynamic transitional ball-player than Michael 'sideways is the new forward' Carrick, Marouane 'jaw-cracker' Fellaini or Bastian 'still deserves better' Schweinsteiger.

I really hope that Jesse Lingard can string some consistent performances together this year. As a youth product I want to see him maintain a presence in the side but too many games last year saw him have an excellent first half and then disappear faster than Messi's tax return papers in the second half and vice-versa.

It's worrying how sulky Martial has looked so far but beautiful Blind showing Jones how to be a decent centre-half gives me a heart boner.

Honestly, if I were a Leicester City fan, I wouldn't give a solitary fuck if my team had lost to 301-2 to Britain's paralympic blind team on the opening day of the season and dissolved thereafter. Premier League champions forever.

"The thing about Tom Heaton is that he'll probably concede a few goals but he saves a lot of shots and the occasional penalty. Against Liverpool though? Nah, not going to chance it." - me, Thursday.

In regards to the Man City - Stoke match, the get-out is that at least Mike Dean was consistent but those were 2 very soft penalty awards.

And having said that, Karanka has dropped Valdes, fingers crossed Guzan doesn't get injured so I can claim Heaton's lovely Fantasy Football points!

Some goal for Middlesbrough too.

Convo with a mackem this morning:

Middlesbrough really have nothing to play for, their biggest two games of the season will be against us and we have bigger fish to fry. I can see us losing both derbies.

Me: I've literally been saying that to you for 3 years.

Sick of pundits saying Newcastle are trying to buy the league. We've made a profit in our transfers this window.

Yo Lee, is Yedlin expected to start for Newcastle? I know one of the reasons he was keen to leave Tottenham was due to a lack of playing time.

Yup, we sold our first choice right back and the backup hasn't had much game time.
