Domestic football - spam version

Milner ticks all the boxes, English, Free transfer, coming into his prime. He's an older head bringing the experience from a bigger team to what is a young squad.

What strikers would people like to see get?

Lacazette at Lyon would be the dream but i doubt he'd come to us without CL football.
Icardi would be a good shout, rumours of a double deal for him and Kovacic would be ideal.
Not too keen on getting in Beteke, don't want Ings near the club.

We could have had Lacazette 18 months ago for 12mil. Now he's Andy Carroll priced.

I was actually in Barcelona while the game was on.

The number of Bilbao fans in the city was incredible

In Barcelona for a game in which Barcelona was the Away team. :)

I heard the Spanish Anthem got booed by all the fans at the ground.

The Swiss police have said he's not under investigation, so I can only assume that either UEFA threatened to boycott the World Cup or Visa/McDonalds/Coca Cola threatened to pull the plug.

I'm thinking more on the sponsors exerting pressure on him to resign.
Please no puppet of Platini as the next president or we get an even worse version of the current FIFA. One that is corrupt and bend on consolidating power within a few select football powers.

Apparently the US authorities are investigating him though, although this info is somewhat second hand

Doesn't suprise me at all, our FA chairman John Delaney makes more than the Dutch FA chairman. That money would have just went to paying his wages. He only runs an Irish league because he has to in order to have a national team which makes the money for his big salary. English clubs train our best young players or else they don't develop good enough to reach the national team. An Irish millionaire paid the majority of the wages of our last two managers.

Im only suprised he was able to get 5 million out of them, that never would have had a case in court.

And for the record i would have been 100% ok with the payoff if the money had gone to the cash strapped clubs in our league.

EDIT: Every club is cash strapped by the way

Very entertaining match - Barca played brilliantly though Juve more than held their own. There was a 10 minute period in that second half where I was sure they'd nick a 2-1 win

Neymar's still a fucking tool though and I hope he falls into a deep hole. They're going to be hard pressed to replicate this feat next year *see's Rafa is Real manager* or not...

The only issue i had with the match was the constant painting of Juve as serious underdogs.

The have one of the worlds be playmakers, best young central midfielder, one of the hardest working chilean midfielder, most experienced goalkeeper on the planet, one of the deadliest strikers in europe and all we kept hearing is how great they did and what an incredible effort.........Fuck off man that is one of the best 11s in the world on paper there no way that team shouldnt have at least reached the semis, they'd just won both their domestic trophies it wasn't Crawley fucking Town in the final it was Juventus one of the most historic teams in the world with a team loaded with quality

Should've been 4-1. Damn you Neymar!

You mean "damn you, ref" right?

Neymar's header onto his own hand should have counted. Nothing deliberate about it.

As for the game as a whole, it was entertaining but while the commentators went a bit overboard in downplaying Juve, there was a sizable gulf in class.

For the first time in a long time, large parts of the game passed Pirlo by.

I can see why you think that. The thing is before the ball hit Neymars hand it wasn't going in and although not deliberate the handball created the goal.

Now imagine if the ref had allowed that, Juve score a second, then lose because of that goal. With all the Fifa stuff going on and the already supposed favoritism they show towards the bigger richer clubs it would have been a sad day for football.

Of course thats all hypothetical but the ref made the right call.

I agree that it should not have counted but by the rules of the game, the referee and his assistant were wrong to disallow it. Neymar did not deliberately use his hand; therefore it should not have been handball regardless if it was going in or not.

I see your point definitely mate. I guess it comes down to following the rules to a ridiculous extent or letting common sense prevail. For one common sense did
