does he deserve it?

First off let me say I'm not that big a fan of Rey. However reading on the main page that Vince is pissed at Rey and really wants to make an example of him. Now we all know how Vince is so I'm not looking for the "that's how vince is" answer. I'm just curious to see if you guys think Rey deserves whatever Vince is going to do him at the tapings tonight. Were his comments that bad that vince should embarass him, even humilate him? Is a suspension enough or should he go through more?

My opinion is that the suspension is good enough. The comments should not have been said but considering the merchendise that Rey sells and how much over he is that should account for something. So without looking through the eyes of VKM, does Rey deserve what's about to happen to him?

Well depending on what the punishment is, Rey probably deserves it. It is company protocol that wrestlers do not speak about their suspension while they are serving it (in this case before he starts serving it) and to make matters worse, Rey didn’t even get permission to do the interview (wrestlers have to get someone’s approval to do interviews). And to make matters even worse than how they already are…he is making WWE’s wellness policy look bad because he is making it seem like they aren’t even following their own policy since according to him he wasn’t given the 72 hours to show a prescription for whatever drug was in his system.

So yes, I do think that he deserves a punishment for doing 3 things he really shouldn’t have done, but it depends on what they extra punishment is. I read a report that they actually thought about unmasking him, to me that’s a little too much and he didn’t really do something that deserves a punishment like that. The mask is something that should be respected, so I hope they don’t punish him by unmasking him. But like I said, it all depends on the punishment if he is going to get an extra punishment for those 3 things I listed.

My short answer is "no" as far as this one goes. Rey does not deserve any of this. There was a misunderstanding, Rey had the balls to tell his side of the story, and now Vince is going to make him pay for it. In an ideal world, Vince would be grown up enough about this to accept that. But, he's not. That's the way it goes.

Now, when it comes down to it, one might say that Rey does deserve this kind of thing simply out of being too naive in thinking Vince would treat him fairly. He's been in this business a long time, the majority of it under Vince, and had to at least be aware of Vince's temper and vindictiveness. He should have known that if he didn't want this to happen to him that the best policy was to keep his mouth shut and tow the party line like a good little drone. He listened to conscience rather than pragmatism and he's going to pay for it. It's a shame, really.
