Now I'm not a kid anymore and I don't have kids so maybe I'm just not noticing, but nobody seems to care about Halloween anymore. I drive around and I don't see any decorations. There are no trick or treaters in my neighborhood. I didn't see anybody in costume all day. There was absolutley nothing happening today to suggest it was Halloween. Just an ordinary day. Is Halloween dead?

Never went trick-or-treating. Only beneficial thing that ever came out of Halloween for me was getting a $20 bill for taking two drunk people to a hotel four years ago.
I guess it's time I accept my (parent's) neighborhood has become an oldtimer's neighborhood.

I read an article today about how adults have hijacked Halloween. it talked about how everything is all focused on the adult aspects of it like horror and sexy versions of outfits. It said a mother had an 11 or 12 year old girl who wanted a certain costume and the only version they could find of it was a sexualized verrsion.

I didn't celebrate Halloween, per say, but I did get together with my friends and their kids after THEY went trick-or-treating. We had a random dance party with glow sticks and "strobe lights" (it was really a bike light that happened to have a strobe function). My friend made a fun Halloween playlist, and we just danced around with the kids for an hour or so, and had a fun time. It was a lot more fun than I've had on most Halloweens, and I hardly ate any candy.

I didn't celebrate it this year cause I didn't see the expense of buying a costume, alcohol etc, etc worth it, so I stayed at home and saved my money. Luckily I knew others staying in too for the exact same reasons so it wasn't hard to keep myself entertained. Halloween is a hit and miss thing for me, some years I like it, some years I don't.

Nah, your area just sucks. I have seen kids wearing costumes and trick or treaters. I love Halloween, I am watching my second straight Halloween movie and will watch more horror movies tonight!
