Disproportionate Rep Points

So, I'm a new guy, I'm just cruising through some posts and whatnot and I notice the rep system and start paying attention to the rep people have. I noticed that some people have some really disproportionate rep points to posts.

For example I saw this guy Ferbian. Dude's got over 1000 posts and his rep is only 3, but then I see other people with waaaay more rep power and a fraction of the posts Ferbian. I noticed it with a number of people. Is there something wrong with the space time continuum? At one time did rep points flow like the oceans and now the rep points are dry as the Sahara ? What-is-the deal?

Spam post don't go towards post count. Most rep comes from Spam post.

It used to be a lot easier to get rep points but it was changed a few months back so now it takes a lot more.

The rep system at one point became over inflated and ended up with people getting full rep bars very very quickly. Sly ended up lowering the rep count tremendously so thus why you see a lot of new people with significantly lower rep power.

But as we've said in the past many times, rep doesn't mean much.
