Did The Undertaker Really Say...

Yes. Also on TNA they said Booker came from obscurity into TNA. Which is sillier.

Well five time WCW Champion, 1 time world champion, king of the Ring, Wrestlemania "Main Eventer", 14 time tag champion, 4 time US Champion, 6 time TV Champion, 1 time IC Champion, and 2 time Hardcore champion, I say thats pretty obscure, I mean, honestly, who wants to win more then 30 belt in their career.

Also, his neckline is too low. He's not far off beginning to sag. You've still got it Taker. Your skin doesn't though.

It's the Undertaker, he's allowed to be Over the Top. He did just send Edge to "hell".

man thats corny as fuck though ive come for your soul we all now hes a real guy i mean unless ur catering to fucking 8 year olds thats retarted

still huge undertaker mark though his eyes are creepy as hell

Yeah I mean of course it is corny - but come on, that is just this gimmick of the Undertaker! He's supposed to be the "Deadman", apparently someone who came back from the dead at some point in time (in fact, multiple times lol), with some supernatural aura around him and what not... So why not have him look for people's "souls"?

Besides, no need to say it has to be taken literally: Maybe he means by "claiming ones soul" that they will have to leave everything they got (i.e. their "beings", their "souls") inside the ring once they've stepped into the squared circle with him, just because it will take that much to defeat him, and no one will ever be the same (so they leave their "former souls" with the Taker) after they've gone into the ring with them. This could also work with non-wrestling people such as Vickie, who will be "changed" in this way by Taker's mind games and thus he takes their "souls" by making them scared, unsecure individuals when they're up against him compared to whatever personality they might regularly have.

So I guess - no need to take everything the Taker says litterally, especially since we all know he's "just" a normal guy at the end of the day; but his quotes can still work without looking overly corny, if you put some different meanings into them; which I suppose everyone of us is free to do. ;)

Taker just has one of those gimmicks that never gets old. The fact that he still puts on some pretty classic matches at a fairly frequent rate doesn't hurt anything either.
But you have to look at the development of the character.

The current Taker is hardly what he was as the pasty young guy with funny clothes and tie in the early 90s.
He's also not wearing a long cloak and sporting a monster goatee while converting people to his "Ministry of Darkness"
The only one he's even close to is his face persona in the '98 area, but this is still a bit different than that. The heart and premise of the character is still the same, but he has clearly changed with the times (speaking of the 'Deadman' persona here and not the 'Biker' one of course) and I think that's a big reason why he is still so over and can pretty much come out with any corny line, and have it work for him.

Did somebody actually say the best gimmick in history??? lmao don't you think that's stretching it just a tad? I mean what's so great about being dead...lol - It only insults my intelligence when they utilize his being dead as a factor.

TAKER MADE A LIGHTNING BOLT STRIKE FROM THE HEAVENS!

I'm sorry but taker has the gimmick that's just so over the top that I only tell friends to tune into the program when he's at home resting... It's just embarrassing...

And this "I'm coming for your soul" thing just adds the icing to the cake..

Let's say there is a such thing as a Soul taker.... Why can a normal person take it? Why should I be afraid of you....In real life, if you're threatening to kill me..I will shoot you in the face with a gun... "YOU CANNOT KILL WHAT IS ALREADY DEAD" you mean like the dignity WWE left at the door the day they created YOU?

He still takes some bumps for an old man, and I still have respect for the guy...

But he insults my intelligence as a person...Case in point:

Booker T vs Taker...the scene where Booker got the bag of graveyard dirt.... And the camera zooms in to see Takers hand come from the dirt... WOW... I feel bad for anybody trying to turn friends into fans on THAT night.

And need I even bring up the Orton feud?

Like he writes the lines himself.

And need I even bring up the Orton feud?

Yes you do. What was wrong with it? And if you say, they put him in a casket and lit it on fire and he appeared out of nowhere, then i'll ask, did you make that statement 10 years ago when they did it the first time with Kane?

Stupid gimmick? Maybe, but at the end of the day it's just a means to get you interested in the character. All the other fan favourites are normal people with no particular gimmick except for guys like Taker and Sting, and to a lesser extent your Foley's and guys like Kane.

Usually i translate "I have come for your soul" to mean, "you're going to get yout ass kicked from here to hell and back again" and most of the time, that's what happens

writes the lines himself or not...They suck..... Actors don't write movies themselves, and guess what...A lot of movies still suck.

So yes, bring up Orton? Okay

A) Taker looks in the casket and see's himself

B) Cowboy bob is covered in blood but only Orton can see

C) Yes..The flaming casket

D) It was stupid when Kane did it

E) It's stupid again with Edge

It's an extremely ******ed concept to try and make me believe that he is creating such illusions. WOW LOOK..COWBOY BOB IS COVERED IN BLOOD AND HE'S COMPLETELY UNAWARE!!!! WOW THAT'S JUST SO COOL..

If you're 6 years old or a 21 year old fan with no dignity in the product you tune in to... Dead man Inc was alot more fitting..Because he then became realistic. Rather than "ZOMFG..TAKER IS DEAD!!"

It's stupid.

It's professional wrestling. it's not suppose to be real. If you think the Undertaker is the first one with an over the top gimmick, you're out of your mind and sadly kidding only yourself. People bitch about zombie undertaker, but I would rather have my kid watching that then the Rock doing his best Allen Iverson impression, the Godfather bringing out his hoe train (I guess the WWE should cater to the teenagers that get hard ons with skanks coming out), Austin getting over by saying ass 1000 times a night, or Hogan Hulking up to over come the odds yet again.

Seriously, it's professional wrestling, if you're ashamed of the Undertaker and his act, then you clearly haven't been watching wrestling. The gimmick works, or else he wouldn't be over for 18 years, or longer then most people on these forums have been alive. Think about it, this crap gimmick that insults people intelligence has been around since the Simpsons first aired. It was around since Hogan was in the WWF the first time. It was around since before Shawn Michaels threw Marty Jannetty threw a mirror. It was around since before Bret Hart won his first singles title in the WWF. It has been around since before Vader made an impact stateside. It has been around since before Bill Clinton was President. It has been around since the first Persian Gulf War. It has been around since the last time a sports Team from Cincinnati was in a championship game. Kids born that year he debuted are graduating high school. Me being in 4th grade when he debut now has a 4th grader that watches him.

It must really suck to be able to insult so many people's intelligences for so long.

He just sent Edge to Hell, so saying "I came for your soul" is nothing in comparison. He is just playing his gimmick, I personally find Big Evil Taker better, but if he is going to be a Deadman for the rest of his career, than he might as well act like one.

are you actually trying to say it does not insult intelligence??

I'm sorry dude but THAT insults my intelligence as well lol... Stone cold cussing..Nope it does not insult me as a person....A person throwing another person through a window..Nope..it can happen

A person being dead and can walk around and take peoples souls, create fire out of nowhere and cause lightning to enter an arena..Nope..that cannot happen

and when you use this for this long..Yes, its insulted intelligence each time it happens.... So even if that means 18 years of sucking as your sig is mentioning.. Then yes...I would say that's right...

You can't say he does not suck because he;s been in the main event for 18 years and then mention how you would rather your kids not see Hogan hulk up and over come the odds when he's been in WAY more main events WAY longer than Undertaker....

By the way, taker was NOT around when Hogan was in the wwf for the first time.

That my friend is a lie...Hogan started wrestling in the wwf in 1979....Taker debut'd in 1990 (as taker) that is 11 years without Undertaker (including Hogan leaving wwf..which means THAT was his FIRST TIME)

I truly apologize that it means I have not watched wrestling, because I think the gimmick of a dead person is stupid....

It is... It's stupid..

I don't find entertainment is Taker floating over the entrance...Because I know he's being held by wires....I don't like Cowboy bob covered in blood asking what ortons looking at in confusion as if he's the only one who can see it..(and of course those at home)

I'm sorry...it's ******ed.... I already said he can still take bumps and he knows how to wrestle.. I just don't like his character.. Point blank - it's as ******ed as David Arquette winning the world title...And I'm sorry but because YOU think it's good does not make MY OPINION WRONG..Nor will it

No, it doesn't make your opinion wrong, it just means that you are out of touch with what Vince McMahon is putting out there. Hulk Hogan using the power of the Hulkamaniacs to Hulk out of his opponents finisher is about as unbelievable as the Undertaker rising up from the dead. The Undertaker shooting lightning bolts from the ceiling is far more entertaining then Brian Pillman trying to shoot steve Austin, or Kane hooking a car battery up to Shane McMahons Testicles. The Undertaker rising to the ceiling is no different then Sting descending from the rafters, or the Blue Blazer flying to the ring.

It's called, Sports ENTERTAINMENT, and because you think the Undertakers gimmick is ******ed, that's fine. It's your opinion, but you are in the minority, and a very small minority. For being as ******ed as he is, he sure is able to get huge pops, main event the big four pay per views, and become a multiple time world champion. It must suck to be ******ed, and all of those ******s that cheer for him must be really ******ed.

few things wrong with that whole...No different than Sting and Owen thing...

A zip line really exists... People use them in alot of things....And it's known that he's arrived to the ring on a zip line just like Shawn Michaels at mania..... The only time you see somebody floating is in badly performed magic...

I realize I am the minority.. Because there aren't a lot of wrestling fans that actually think for themselves. Most all wrestling fans..Hate the heel...love the face..The face turns heel and they hate them now..... I don't do this

I love the person who puts on an entertaining match... I could care less about gimmicks and what they consist of...Aside from Santino and Chris Jericho..I watch raw on mute until the matches start...

You see?

That's what makes me the minority... Because I watch wrestling for the action and not the storylines that are usually involved.

But I just get really bothered when the storylines are just so far fetched that I feel like I am watching cartoons again.
