Dean Ambrose Injured

As we saw on Raw last night, Dean Ambrose suffered an injury to his right arm during his six man match with Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan against Samoa Joe and the Bar. Initially, it kinda sorta looked like it might be a work but it's been confirmed today that Ambrose was legitimately injured and that he's been working with an injured right elbow for a while now, he's been wearing that sleeve on his right arm for little while now. Ambrose is scheduled to head to Birmingham, Alabama on Wednesday to be examined; there's no word on how long he'll be out, though a better idea of that will come about after he's examined tomorrow and the exact nature of the injury is revealed.

It seems that the reunion for the Shield just can't catch a break. First, Roman Reigns is sidelined by a bad case of the mumps for a few weeks and now there's a real chance Ambrose may be out for months, depending on what type of injury he suffered and how severe. It's always a shitty thing when a wrestler gets hurt, they're human beings after all, but it sucks all the more when it's someone that's as over as Ambrose and is frequently involved on top storylines. It's hard to see exactly how Ambrose was further injured last night, going by just being part of that suicide dive, so my guess is that something just suddenly gave during the match, the injury was exacerbated or Ambrose has an issue that needed to be dealt with and the "injury" of last night was his way of being written off TV until it's fixed.

I taking a wait and see approach with this mostly because it might just be a minor injury that takes him out for a few weeks and it's not like we truly need him on tv right now. Seth and Roman can carry the load for a few week until Dean comes back.

Easy fix, turn Slater into Dean Ambrose for the time being until Dean gets back. If Slater can play a better Dean Ambrose then keep Slater as Ambrose. Ambrose can be somebody else.

In all seriousness, Slater should play Dean Ambrose for the time being, bare with me.

Ambrose has been a work horse for the WWE for the last couple of years so this is a shame. I guess that will put the Shield reunion on the back burner for another while so that he can get better. Sucks as he is my favourite out of the three.

Hopefully it's not serious and he can make it back for Mania.

WWE released some more info earlier tonight stating that Ambrose has undergone an MRI and said MRI shows a high grade injury to his triceps tendon. WWE also reported that it's almost certain that he'll have to undergo surgery to repair the tendon; as noted before, he's set to be evaluated tomorrow in Birmingham, Al and it's likely where the surgery will take place.

So yeah, my guess is that Ambrose is out for at least 6 months, meaning he's missing out on WrestleMania.

If he is out for an extended period of time, nothing of value will be lost.

Pins for transitional championship runs or protecting current champions, lackluster house show main events, and being Roman's little buddy? He's the most consistent workhorse who doesn't enjoy working too hard! :(

Ambrose pls take a few months off enjoy your life & new Canadian wife whose a sweetheart IRL. Listen to whatever music you enjoy and comeback and actually try to put on matches that don't look worse than your really early CZW stuff.

Do hope he gets better, but in all serious he REALLY needed a break whether it be just a few weeks or months. It sucks that it was an injury, but he's the type that'll work through it if you ask it of him and just do it quietly. Hope he chills out and gets a little steam back in his engine. I don't think (hope**) he'll come back as bad as Rollins after his ACL tear, but if he does I mean he's already lost a lot of his edge. That'll be another solid nail in the already decided coffin of Ambrose's career being anything more than just a 2nd top guy at best.

This might be a blessing in disguise for Ambrose as he's needed a break for a while now. The dude has wrestled repeatedly for the last five years on house shows, Raw, Smackdown and ppv events — the dude's a machine. He's wrestled more matches in 2016 than anyone and he's become the most reliable worker on WWE's roster. With that, he's become a bit too complacent. His matches were fairly predictable, his maneuvers looked a bit sloppy and it looked as if Ambrose simply phones it in a bit too much.

With that, we were getting too many combinations of the Ambrose/Rollins/Sheamus/Cesaro matches and maybe this will give the tag champs some fresher competition while Seth moves onto better things. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and hopefully both Ambrose and the WWE can utilize that when he returns. Have him turn on Roman when he gets back to really put him out there as a top heel — the guy needs a refreshener.

It's great, as far as freshening up storylines. Ambrose gets a rest, can change his look s bit etc and upon return, attack Rollins and a heel turn leading to Ambrose vs Rollins at Mania 34. If he can't return in time, more storyline reason for Ambrose to resent Rollins and Reigns especially if Reigns wins the belt and Rollins somehow ends up with the IC title come Mania. Lesnar can cost Reigns the IC belt say against Joe, and there's a new match for Mania and Rollins seeks revenge for Joe taking him out last year too

Unfortunately it looks like Ambrose is going to miss WrestleMania. Originally his injury wasn't thought to be serious, and he would only be out for around two months. Now he's projected to be out around six months. It's never good when a top star like Ambrose goes down, but that's the nature of wrestling. Injuries happen, and you can't really avoid them. At least he'll get a break because his workload has been pretty insane the last couple of years.

When he comes back, he can turn on Rollins. Ambrose is one of those guys who is great as a face but can also be a great heel (kinda like HBK or the Rock, but obviously on a different level). As for what Rollins can do until then, I'm not sure. He has the team with Jordan right now, but I'm assuming that's only short-term. He could feud with Joe at Mania and then maybe Balor after then. They at least have a little history together. It'll be interesting, which is always good.

So many people are upset Dean is going to miss Wrestlemania, people talking on various sites about how their Mania interest is way down now, and I just don't see why.

Yes, I understand that he is going to miss a payday, that part I get one hundred percent and it does suck for the guy.

What I don't get is people acting like Dean missing Mania is going to result in us being robbed of something truly special. What has Dean done in his past appearances to suggest he was going to do something special? Look at his history

29- Shield win over Show, Orton, and Sheamus
30- Shield squash NAO and Kane
31- Curtain jerked in the IC ladder match
32- Was Brock's bitch
33- Beat Corbin on the pre-show for IC title

Maybe we would have gotten the 900th match between he and Seth vs. The Bar as they continue to be Roman's wacky friends, but nothing Dean has ever done would suggest his presence at Mania was going to be must watch.

I’ve just personally always loved Ambrose. Sure he can get better st a lot of things, but he entertains me, is decent on the mic, his move set fits him pretty well. I’m hoping he does return as heel and turns on the shield. His Interviews when the shield first formed in nxt were a lot better then they are now.

Yes best thing WWE can do is bring Ambrose back as a heel if and when he does come back from this injury and this injury puts him out to at least May 2018 if his injury is slotted to be 6 months. However, I heard his injury could possibly even be 9 months and if that is true then that puts him out until at least SummerSlam 2018. Furthermore, Dean could use the break and why? The man has wrestled consistently and constantly non-stop for WWE for years now almost at every live event. My point being that he has been healthy for the better part of his career up until this point and the small time he had off in 2014 he wasn't even injured he was off filming a movie for WWE.

A Joe-Ambrose feud should be good when Ambrose returns. I like the jabs Joe is taking at Dean and Renee during his interviews with Renee too. Could see Renee walking out on an interview with Joe and refusing to interview him ever again, which should make things more interesting.
