Current Champion Injured?

WWE MIGHT have hit a string of bad luck as it pertains to the Raw Tag Team Championships.

According to PWInsider.com, Jason Jordan didn't wrestle at any of the WWE's house shows this past weekend and PWInsider.com says that he's injured. There's no confirmation on what type of injury, the severity or if he's injured at all from WWE but, if so, then this is some more rotten luck for WWE. First, Dean Ambrose injures his triceps to such a degree that he MIGHT be out for almost the entirety of this year, Paige's in-ring career is officially over in WWE after suffering a stinger late last month in a six woman tag team match and now the speculation that Jordan may be injured enough that he's to be written off TV.

It's a shame if it's true as Jordan is coming along nicely. He's growing more confident and capable on the mic, he's developing a strong heel presence and he can deliver inside the ring.

Yeah, that would stop all the momentum he's built up over the last couple of weeks. No matter how annoying Jordan's character is, he's managed to be successful in sustaining heat better than I thought he would. An injury right now would halt all of that and will likely take some time to bring back depending on the severity of the injury. It's not like the show won't continue without him though.

If anything, replace him with Roman and let him walk out of Wrestlemania with three championship belts. That'll make everyone happy.

This is turning into shades of a couple of years ago when a lot of wrestlers went down with injuries. We have Paige, Ambrose and Jordan confirmed, but there are rumours of others working with injuries like Sheamus. It might just be a matter of time before more go out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get the Rumble and Mania out of the way before that happens.

Jordan's injury doesn't appear to be all that bad, it wasn't even given a mention on RAW... not that it necessarily would be but it doesn't appear that anything has to be immediately done with him or the tag titles.

But now reports are surfacing that Kevin Owens was pulled from weekend shows as well due to injury. Hopefully his case ends up being the same as Jordan's. It's reported to not be serious and he was just pulled due to precautionary measures. Let's hope that the case, injuries are never good but they especially suck around this time.

This again proves what I have said for so long- WWE needs an off-season.

I think that the injuries are partly the toll of wrestling 52 weeks a year. Now, injuries will always happen, but I wonder how many are due to the strain of constantly training and performing.

Most other sports have off-seasons, so that the athletes don't over-exert themselves. However, WWE won't even take a week off. Why not at least have Christmas-New Year off?

There are seven weeks between the December PPV and the Royal Rumble. If you had WWE take the week after the PPV off, and then come back the second week of January, it gives them plenty of time to rest, and still three weeks to build up for "Royal Rumble". It will also give a definitive starting point to "The Road To Wrestlemania".

If WWE had an off-season, I would be interested to see how many injuries there are then. Besides, less weeks wrestling, means less matches, means less chance of getting hurt.
