The Merc with a Mouth, Wade Wilson, Deadpool, whatever you want to call him, the man behind the mask is one of the the world's greatest mercenaries.

Wade Wilson's early life is mostly unknown. His mother died of cancer while he was young and his father (who was in the military) was physically abusive. Wade was a deliquent in his teenage years, possibly to spite his father. Following a brief stint of military service, Wade began his mercenary career while still in his late teens. When mercenary extraordinaire and eater of chimichangas Wade Wilson contracted cancer he went a little nuts. He signed on for Canada's Weapon-X program and was given an experimental treatment menu to imitate Wolverine's healing factor. The procedure resulted in a mixed bag of success and failure. It allowed him to be able to regenerate any destroyed tissue at a super-human rate as well as making him immune to all known diseases. An unanticipated side effect was an acceleration of the cancerous tumors he was suffering from at the time, causing them to quickly spread across his entire body. Because of this, his healing factor super charged his cancer, resulting in massive scar tissue causing his appearance to be severely disfigured. Deadpool, who took his name from the pool that the officers and scientists bet in as to who would die next in the experimentation, became severely mentally unbalanced as a result of it. He escaped the facility and has been wandering, doing jobs for the top bidder, and destroying the 4th wall ever since.

Due to his unpredictable nature, his skill with both blade and bullet, and extensive training, Deadpool is one of the most formidable opponents in the Marvel Universe and in the BattleZone arena.

Powers

• 
  Healing factor-Deadpool possesses a superhuman healing factor derived from that of the mutant Wolverine that allows him to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary human. As such, he can regrow severed limbs or vital organs. The speed at which this healing factor works varies in direct proportion to the severity of the damage Deadpool suffers. This healing factor also affords Deadpool a virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs, as well as an enhanced resistance to diseases and an extended life span.
• Superhuman stamina, agility, flexibility and reflexes-Due to the presence of this superhuman healing ability, many of Deadpool's natural physical attributes have been enhanced. Deadpool's musculature generates considerably less fatigue toxins than the muscles of an ordinary human being, granting him superhuman levels of stamina in all physical activities. His natural strength, agility and reflexes have been enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural limits of the human body. Deadpool's agility and reaction time are superior to those of even the finest human athlete.
• Immunity to telepathy-Due to Deadpool's mental instability it is impossible to read his mind and predict his next. Deadpool himself may not even know what he will do next.

Abilities

• Military training-Before undergoing the Weapon X program, Wilson received extensive training in the Canadian military
  
• Master martial artist-Deadpool is an extraordinary hand-to-hand combatant and is skilled in multiple unarmed combat techniques
  
• Master swordsman and marksman-He is a master of assassination techniques, is an excellent marksman, and is highly skilled with bladed weapons (frequently carrying two swords strapped to his back)
  
• Multilingual-Fluent in English, German, Japanese, and Spanish.

Assets

• Magic satchel-At times in the past, Deadpool has employed a magic satchel that allows him to seemingly pull out any weapon from thin air he may need for his current assignment.
  
• Teleportation device-Located in his belt Deadool can use the device to teleport, or bodyslide, out of, and sometimes into, danger.
  
• Holographic image inducer-A device Deadpool can use to disguise his true appearance as necessary.
  
• Weapons-Skilled in many forms of blades and guns, Deadpool is almost never without his signature swords strapped to his back. He often utilizes a combination of both gun and blade.
