Dawn Of A New Era....

When it comes down to it. We have been treated to awesome matches byt guys like Daniel Bryan, rvd, dolph ziggler. We have had amazing storylines. I'm still looking for the most amazing return of 2013. The only guys i can see return , and start the era is Stone Cold? Batista?

Batista- I understand he's not the biggest name in the business, but is asomeone that can bring something nice to the Daniel Bryans storyline? I believe he can. Some people might disagree that he shouldn't be in this storyline, or he shouldn't returm at all.that's your opinion and I will let you give yours, but Iam going to give mine due to a guy on the next selection.

Stone Cold Steve Austin- He's a name that will always be put in the hat to help a storyline like this, and I think he will. Stone cold WILL be involved in this storyline.

Give your opinions. Give some other guys that you think could be in this storyline instead of these guys.

I don't think they need to bring anyone in.
Cena is gone for a while and this gives some other people a chance to shine.
Bringing someone like Stone Cold in would overshadow the people currently involved and would pretty much be pointless.

New eras have never been ushered in by returning stars. They've always been created by new ones.

I don't think this storyline needs a return. Bryan's character is more than capable of fighting his own battles. Batista would make sense I guess if they worked out a deal and had him back briefly for WM. While it would be cool to see him back with an Evolution reunion I don't know if anyone is particularly clamouring for Bryan/Batista.

This. Need proof?

That.

I try to avoid reading much less posting in threads like this, but I'd read that Wrestlecrap induction not too long ago and couldn't resist.

I get that some people have a priapism because they constantly get wood from thinking about returns. Returns can be exciting, entertaining, and produce good programs. They don't usher in new eras though. They keep people tethered to old ones. That isn't a bad thing when it's in service to a big once twice in a lifetime match like Rock vs. Cena or to give older fans a chance to go down memory lane like Hogan's 2002 run. But the idea that the returning star being injected into the Daniel Bryan storyline would somehow bring about the "dawn of a new era" is naive. Could it happen? Sure. Would it mark the start of a new chapter? No. When WWE truly begins a new era, you'll know because John Cena will either be dead or a heel, and that is in the order of which is more likely to happen first.

Logan Punisher, i see what your getting at. But i agree with Butcher..

One word.. NOSTALGIA

Wikipedia it... cant be bothered?.. dont worry here's what it says;
"the term nostalgia describes a sentimentality for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations".

So, i agree totally with The Butcher. WWE - as do most entertainment products, continually bring back / regurgitate old stars, old stories and such like, purely because we, the fans, are constantly longing to be taken back to a time when things were great, we were living in the good old days and remember those epic battles and the way we used to feel when our favorite stars were creating something amazing before our very eyes.

Time moves on, and you know what excites me.. NXT. Those guys are putting on quality match after quality match. Why? Because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. They aren't doing anything dumb like pile driving someone on the ring apron in front of 55 fans in a school gym... i mean, who's stupid enough to do that.......

The next big thing is.. well, NXT! It's in the title. You take mid carders like Antonio Cesaro, Damien Sandow.. those guys were ace matched with the development guys. You can see that there is a plan, there is a testbed where stories and talent are played around with just to see what happens.. its not just the wrestlers, its the writers, the production teams, the whole thing is a breeding ground.

So, lets not regurgitate the failings of older - and quite frankly, way past it superstars.

Yes, the next BIG MATCH could be our fantasy or dream matches e.g. Goldberg vs Ryback - just for the gimmick quality... Cody Rhodes vs Goldust - genius in my opinion, and Undertaker vs Sting.

Those are the "dreams" we have - but look at them.. the past vs the present. It's our old friend nostalgia again!!

Nostalgia is good when you need it. With DB you don't. Not yet. You don't need an epic generational Rock/Cena match, he doesn't need help getting over.

I doubt we will get sucha awesome returns as we did in 2011 with The Rock or Brock in 2012 this year around.

The only guy I could think of that would raise my eyebrow would be Ultimate Warrior and we all know that's not gonna happen.

Now as far as your suggestions goes. If anything Austin should come back in 2014 to put one last match during Mania 30. Although I hear that his health is not on top and it would be only for one match(if it happens). After that Austin should be done for good.

As for Batista he should have burned a few bridges by now with WWE saying he does not want anything to do with the current product. If anything he would be Brock 2.0 coming here only for the money and not to add anything.

I wish he could stay out from WWE for good. Watching paint dry is far less boring then trying to watch him speak on the mic. Not to mention he's below average as a wrestler.

As far as giving my own suggestions I would like to see AJ Styles and Sting here in WWE. Bully Ray would be interesting as well.
