Davey Richards Says He Will Retire Later This Year

I'm surprised there wasn't a thread for this made yet.

ROH wrestler Davey Richards told Alex Marvez of Scripps News that he intends to retire after the ROH Final Battle event in December. ""I didn't plan to do this for my career," Richards said. "I've gotten done with paramedic school and have other things I want to concentrate on. I want to get my black belt in jiujitsu and finish the fire academy. I'm married now, too. Ring of Honor has so many talented guys that they don't need me anymore."

Marvez reminded Richards that a number of wrestlers have returned from retirements. ""First off, I hate to say I'm retiring," Richards said. "I'm just a small-town guy who wrestles. To be honest, I’m not familiar with Richard’s work. However, I’ve read some good things about him and it sounds like he's a good worker.

Anyways, his fans must be disappointed that he’s retiring. From reading that article, I don’t know if he’ll return. He seems to have some good things going on his life and it looks like he won’t need pro wrestling anymore. Hopefully (for his fans), he’ll return from time to time just for his fans.

It's bullshit. This is the 4th or 5th time he's threatened to retire because of all the traveling he does. I'd practically bet my house that he's not retiring, he's done this before, he'll do it again.
