DAVEY RICHARDS

Pre-Show Stalwart
When Davey Richards makes the jump to the "big leagues" in either WWE or TNA (not taking anything away from ROH.. great company). Where would you rather see him?

I'm gonna lean against WWE... I would have said TNA a year or so ago, because WWE had a tendency to get guys with great in-ring ability and just do shit all with them.. such as Tyson Kidd, etc... and TNA on the other hand was doing the opposite with guys like Desmonde Wolfe.. but WWE's surprisngly good use of Daniel Bryan (minus that wrestlemania match) makes me think WWE juuust might recognize this guys potential and give him the push he deserves...

Whats everyones opinion on this?

Davey Richards doesn't fit into the mold that either top company traditionally seeks. He is a great wrestler and has been a solid ROH Champion, but Davey Richards has no personality and could make the wildest of wrestling fans fall asleep. I've only ever seen a single decent promo of his and it was during his run as the American Wolves with Edwards. Richards would do well as a wrestler in WWE or TNA, but longevity would be the question.

When Danielson signed with WWE the idiots kept saying how he has no personality and he can't cut a promo, which were delirious assumptions from people who attempted to come across as if they had a clue, considering Danielson would typically cut promos in Ring of Honor. Richards doesn't do that, he doesn't have any credible personality traits and sadly is merely just a guy who is a good wrestler.

Davey fits Japan's top promotions a lot better than he will a North American one. He, much like the other top guys of Ring of Honor before him such as Danielson, McGuinness, Punk, Joe, Aries and Black will leave. When he does, he'd be a good bet for Japan, instead of WWE or TNA. Unless he hides his speaking talents, he wouldn't last long.

I agree. BUUUUUT, the majority of us don't have the ability to watch him wrestle in japan, AND TNA/WWE get more exposure.. which is why I asked the question. Besides, Benoit had "no personality" and couldnt cut a promo, and he had a very successful title reign in WWE. So richards just may flourish in WWE or TNA aswell

Actually, almost none of us can watch Japan, I for example torrent the latest episodes, but I answered your question. Neither, because it wouldn't suit him.

And in comparison to Chris Benoit, Benoit has intensity and a character, they could place labels on him and it would sell, e.g. Toothless Aggression. Plus you've sold Benoit's speaking abilities very short, he could speak on the microphone, he could speak and would come across genuine. Richards issue is, when he speaks, he has nothing of interest to say, what he does say he delivers poorly and he shows no ability when talking. He is just a guy, who is a good wrestler, he fits Japan like a glove.

I think Davey would have trouble in WWE. Honestly as great as he is in the ring, I feel he is equally as bad on the mic. Just my opinion. I don't think he could get the average WWE fan interested. TNA would be a good fit for him especially in the X division, but I think he is good where he is in ROH.
