Dark Knight Rises Teaser Trailer

There where many someone's who said Batman would open larger, and gross more overall; I believe you (and pretty much everyone else in this thread) where standing on that side of the fence.

Oh, sorry, did The Dark Knight Rises open yet? If so, I'm gon' be pissed.

No, that's why I'm taking your orders in advance, like I said, I have a lot of crow to prepare.

So, when it's all over with, and the stupid people were right, what happens? Do we receive an apology?

Just to help you refresh where you stand on this debate, nobody said either of these movies wouldn't gross so there's no point in playing that card.

The new Batman probably won't touch the day one numbers of HP in it's entire opening weekend.

TDKR hasn't even been released yet, & no one in this thread said Potter wasn't going to do well, so until TDKR is released next fucking year, SSC, you can take that crow & kindly shove up ass:thumbsup:

This thread needs a bitch bet associated with it in the worst way. This thread could be the Wrestlezone equivalent of Cena vs. the Rock.

Long story short, Marvel is going to regret moving Captain America to this coming weekend. That movie doesn't stand a chance.

So Justin would like his crow served with the distinct flavor of ass, I'll make sure to chalk that down for ya.

Why would I be eat crow when I don't giving a fly shit which movie preforms better at the box office? I'm pretty sure I stated that at least once in this dumbass thread. I'm looking forward more to TDKR & feel that it'll be the better movie overall. Don't really give a shit how much money it makes, cause it's not like I, or anyone else in this thread for that matter, are ever going to see any of that money anyway. Caring about how much money a fucking movie makes, especially when it's the same studio putting out both movies that are being compared, is about as fucking ******ed to giving a shit about the ratings or buyrates that a wrestling promotion pulls in. Unless your some sort a huge fan of math you really shouldn't give a fuck about the numbers, you watch to be entertain by the product put on the screen in front you, not buy the number of other people that are also watching.

As I stated, I don't care about either of these movies or how much they make, I'm simply a fan of being correct, and when I see the opportunity to knock a bunch of Batman fanboys off their pretentious pedestals I take that opportunity, and enjoy every second of it.

I've also stated I'd be more than willing to eat my fair share of crow if need be, but damn, it's just too easy to get you guys all hot and bothered when it comes to everyone's favorite pair of pasties.

How are Batman fanboys pretentious? I can't wait to hear this one...

As much as I hope Superman is a success, it might not he a top five movie next year as far as revenue. That franchise has to grow it's base again.

Agreed. That movie needs to kick some serious ass, and pray the sequel can be an absolute smash. No reason Superman movies shouldn't automatically hit a billion dollars. Probably the most recognized name in fiction, ever (unless you're an atheist, but that's another can of worms I'm not touching...)

This thread is a pretty glaring example, or just look up one of the previous ten threads devoted to this movie, or any thread devoted to discussing TDK.

You guys have practically proclaimed this new film to be better than TDK, and you've yet to see anything but a poster and a weak ass teaser trailer; but that won't stop you guys from proclaiming it's greatness. You can't even discuss batman on this site without ten people immediately jumping to it's defense.

It's like everyone has to white knight for the dark knight, a little pretentious, no?

Because some of us believe this is far and away the best comic-to-film franchise of all time? Because some of us wish each comic-to-film adaptation would take the time and care to be worth a shit? That's not being pretentious, it's called being a fan.

You guys have practically proclaimed this new film to be better than TDK

Exaggerate much?

and you've yet to see anything but a poster and a weak ass teaser trailer

Actually, we were praising this project long before the poster became available. Oh, and I have only seen the shitty version of the trail -- it was fantastic.

but that won't stop you guys from proclaiming it's greatness. You can't even discuss batman on this site without ten people immediately jumping to it's defense.

This statement can be applied to just about anything around here, so what's the difference?

It's like everyone has to white knight for the dark knight, a little pretentious, no?

Actually, no, it isn't pretentious. People often knock popular things just to look unique, or "outside of the box." That bothers me, somewhat.

We'll see what happens. However, the hype/anticipation over this TDKR teaser trailer is insane. Critics are reviewing a teaser trailer... get that? A fucking teaser trailer. I have never seen this much insanity over a teaser trailer.

Half of the discussion in this thread is Potter vs. Batman. The Dark Knight thread would've had a hundred or more replies and all would've been about that film only. You only need to look at peoples reactions of this forum to the Bane image and compare it to the initial Joker one to realise the anticipation for TDKR isn't nowhere near as big as it is for the sequel.

It is certainly true that some fans of The Dark Knight have a tendency to lubriciously overate the film. It may well be the best comic to film translation of all time, but let's be frank here, that's not exactly a high bar.

As a piece of fan service it's about as good as a person could realistically hope for, but if you take the fangasms away what you're left with is a pretty average film. It is not a work of cinematic genius. It is not one of the best films of all time. It is neither high brow nor possessing of the artistic merit that a small cross section of fans seem desperate to thrust upon it. What it is is a well produced, well acted but ultimately shallow and generic action flick that happens to have Batman in it. That's all it needs to be.

I know I'm in a small minority, but as a big fan of Mark Hamill's Joker.. I really wasn't too big of a fan of Heath's version. It was just.. Missing something for me.

None of that makes the new film any good though, it's pretentious because you're basing this off a poster a few seconds worth of film. Nobody really wants to take into account the affect that Heath Ledger had on the last film.

Exaggerate much?

A little bit, but not really. Reading through this thread and seeing the projected numbers indicates a bit of pretentiousness. That act that you automatically expect this new film to easily out gross the last one just screams of it. There's no indication whatsoever that the new Batman film will gross over a billion, unless Heath Ledger has risen from the dead to reprise his role as the Joker.

Actually, we were praising this project long before the poster became available. Oh, and I have only seen the shitty version of the trail -- it was fantastic.

Exactly, extremely pretentious, proclaiming it better than sliced bread with absolutely nothing to back it up.

This statement can be applied to just about anything around here, so what's the difference?

It applies more to the TDK and the current Batman film than anything else that doesn't have to do with Cena or the Rock.

Actually, no, it isn't pretentious. People often knock popular things just to look unique, or "outside of the box." That bothers me, somewhat.

Everyone always tells me this, like it's not my real opinion or something. "SSC is just trying to be cool by saying he thinks TDK isn't better than two bitches blowing his cock." No, actually, it's my real opinion. It's a pretentious thought to think EVERYONE should agree TDK and the BB series is the greatest thing ever.

the anticipation for TDKR isn't nowhere near as big as it is for the sequel.

So.... are you agreeing, or disagreeing with me? This statement is quite confusing.

It's far better than an average film. I would say it's one of the better crime dramas of the past decade. This film, in my view, wasn't a tad overrated. It was everything I expected. More, actually. Harvey Dent/Two-Face was a great character. The villains worked well (Dent being almost a mirror image of what Wayne could have been, and The Joker being Wayne's opposite).

It wasn't shallow. This film made me a huge Batman fan. Prior to this film, I didn't dislike Batman, but I didn't really care about it. I didn't walk into The Dark Knight a biased fanboy. I walked out a huge fan of the character, and this particular franchise.

If you think the film was "one of the better crime dramas", I don't understand how you can reconcile that with it not being "a tad overrated."
