Could Ziggler Pull This Off?

Whoop whoop!
This is my first thread, and its about an idea I had while I was working today: Ziggler has had his fair share of gimmicks. A caddy, a male cheerleader, and a show off, which is the role he's been shining in recently. Now my idea is not necessarily something I seriously hope to see happen, but I'm just looking to see if anyone else can imagine how awesome this could be. What if Ziggler started a new gimmick which parodies one of his favorite television characters, Sterling Archer from the show Archer. I think he could easily work a few of the catchphrases into his promo work, wearing a suit, and just embracing the essence of Archer into whatever he does in and out of the ring. He even has Vickie that could play the role of his Pam! Just imagine him facing Punk or Cena or anybody really, grabbing the win out of nowhere with a Super Kick, and talk about "How totally ninja that was!"

So my questions to you guys are...
Would you guys be interested in seeing this at all?
How would you work this into Ziggler's character?
Would you rather this gimmick on a heel or face Ziggler?

I once asked Dolph on Twitter if he would mention "Danger Zone" in a promo and he said he had, and he would again. I don't remember him ever doing that, because I would remember it, I think.

But yeah, I would dig some Archer. And I don't really like his show off gimmick. At all.

Okay, several things:

1) Fairytale land, this concept. Archer is a good show. Really funny. But barely anyone knows of it, at least not the WWE's demographic. No one would understand the parody, and on top of that, FX could probably sue for copyright infringement if he starts ripping off catchphrases from the show - catchphrases that not many people will really understand anyways.

2) Completely unoriginal. The WWE wouldn't want a character that's basically the character from a TV show.

3) You really love that show, eh? Because it seems like you're being paid to advertise for it. I have seen the show though, and it IS funny, but let's be honest here - a gimmick that's "a parody of a character from a TV show" that's not even one of the major ones?

But to answer your questions:

- I would not be interested in seeing this, because "parodies" are almost always horrible, and it'll just come across as a lame rip-off.

- I wouldn't work it in.

- I wouldn't want to see this gimmick ether way.

BUT, to answer your topic's question: Yes, Ziggler is talented enough to pull it off. But it just so happens that what he's trying to pull off is really lame. That's not to say Archer is lame, because it's a good show, but the concept of him being like the main character from Archer is lame.

Thank you for posting!

I'm not going to argue but Paul Burchill and Razor Ramon were basically Jack Sparrow and Tony Montana respectfully at a time :D.

If Ziggler changed the gimmick enough to not get sued it could work in my opinion.

I know that this wouldn't ever happen exactly as I had in mind, or even anything that would ever be close to it. I'm just asking everybody if it sounds like it would be worth watching if it happened. Ziggler's a big fan of the show so he could bring a lot to the character just because he would be having fun with it. I'm not really talking about this idea in terms of wanting it to happen in reality, I'm talking about using our imaginations to think of fun things that could happen.

'Completely unoriginal. The WWE wouldn't want a character that's basically the character from a TV show.'

Zack Ryder ring a bell - Jersey Shore rip off?

It would not be beyond the WWE to take figures from pop culture and work them into a gimmick. There have been loads.

That being said however, Im really enjoying Dolph as he is and watching him grow into possibly one of the best all rounders in the business.

#Heel will pwn 2012.

um Ryder had his gimmick prior to Jersey Shore. But your point is still valid since it was based off of those kind of people. he just had it first.

The guy is in no need of a gimmick change.
What he has been doing this last year has been great, and has already made tweaks to his gimmick.
There are a number of other guys in the back who, in my opinion, would benefit from a gimmick change/update so much more then the Zig Zag Man who is on a roll at the moment and like the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke don't fix it!"

As DanielJames said, Zack Ryder had the gimmick long before Jersey Shore. Also, Jersey Shore is 1,000,000 times more popular than Archer (which is sad, because I hate Jersey Shore and I do like Archer), so if the WWE did want a gimmick based off Jersey Shore, it'd make more sense towards most demographics.

And to the guy that said Jack Sparrow and Tony Montana, I agree with you to an extent. But both Paul Burchill and Razor Ramon weren't straight up parodies/imitations of Sparrow and Montana. Paul Burchill was just a pirate, and Razor Ramon was (while inspired by Scarface characters, yes) just a work on Hispanic gangsters. What Juggalotus was saying was that he wanted Ziggler to directly quote lines from Archer, and basically be the main character of Archer (he went as far as to say Vickie should be Pam).

I wouldn't be all too interested in seeing this happen. It's an interesting idea that they could use for someone who needs character development, but Ziggler does not need this type of a change right now. He has come a long way from the golfer and cheerleader gimmicks. I like his Showoff and Hashtag Heel persona we have been seeing lately. His arrogance on the mic and his skill in the ring are all he needs.

Now if this WAS going to be worked into Ziggler's character then it would fit better if he turns face because it would be rather silly, as most parody characters in wrestling are, and heels tend to do better when they are more serious. A face Ziggler who has ditched Vickie entirely could make such a gimmick work. I'd rather he stays the way he is now though.

I think the show is great but I have zero interest in seeing Dolph change to this ever. Archer is a dumbass, like actually stupid in the show ha. Ziggler is very intelligent in real life and has showed it in his character.

And why would you want to change something that is working fantastically? Zigglers character is a refreshing cocky heel, not the typical and he is killing it right now.
