Connecting With Characters - Why Roman Reigns Isn't Over

The other problem is is how do you book Reigns? If he was booked like fans want him to be as the borderline silent destructive badass motherfucker who takes shit from no one, which is the ideal way to book him to be honest, he'd still be a shit Brock Lesnar. Who has those attributes and more in spades, all he has to do is grin and people go beserk.

But the difference between Roman and Lesnar, when both are presented as pure badasses, is that Lesnar comes across as smug, while Reigns seems more focused. Look at his brief, but epic promos during the latter days of the shield. He said little, but every word had the right impact.

Now he says too much and can't hold an audiences attention for very long. Roman Reigns has it in him to be a major player, maybe even 'the next big thing', but they're giving him the wrong presentation. Just look at the Rock, who initially was much more coldly received because WWE was showcasing the wrong side of his persona.

What I would really like to see them do is change his gimmick. Stop using the Shield music, outfit and entrance. The other two moved on, and I believe some fans are still with Reigns because of the fact he hasn't changed.

A change worked for Rollins and Ambrose, it could for Reigns. I have a feeling though the WWE is terrified to change it up. That might be the only reason he's getting any cheers right now, take away the Shield part of his gimmick and he doesn't have anything.

Roman Reigns is nowhere near an underdog. In my opinion Roman is Vince's exact expectation of what a champion should look like. To be honest I can't wait until WrestleMania when the crowd is full of boos and Vince McMahon, surrounded by all his corporate investors see that his project has failed miserably.
