I have a question regarding commentators.
I am wondering if a commentator is told the finish of the match / the result, before going out to commentate.
I think that if the commentator is kept in the dark about the result, that the commentating will flow better and their genuine shock will resonate better with the tv audiance.
However, if i was to take a guess, I would say that they are informed of the results before it happens. I think this is a bad thing because it can give a negative effect on the commentator and come across robotic.
So what is your opinion on this matter? Should commentators be aware of the results of a match or not?
If you are in the know, what is the fact? Are they aware of the finish?
