College Football LD 10/11/2008

I was at the game when Vince Young had a 40 yard touchdown run in overtime against the Texans. His legs make him a better qb than his rating will ever show.

But he's done nothing to make me think he is a hall of famer, but he could be a serviceable qb for years as long as he gets his picks down.

4-0 vince gets credit for the week one win.

But winning games is what it's all about. That has to factor in somewhere. And qb ratings don't account for rushing yards (in the NFL, in college, I believe they do).
 
and the one year Harrington had receivers he put up solid numbers with his 19 TD passes to 12 INTS

All games Alex Smith wouldve never won.

Right. in his one good year. his first year as a starter, when no one knew how to game plan for him. He was AWESOME that year against the Eagles though wasnt he??
 
To correct my self, Vince is 17-11 as a starter. His winning percentage is higher than his completion percentage. I don't know what that says, but I'm done with the argument. I will reserve judgment until he has some talent. If he never gets it, I will have to spend the rest of my life wondering what could have been. Sigh.
 
Young last year had a winning record as a QB and a playoff birth. Obviously Young is capable of winning games the same way Collins is.

Yeah Because Detroit and them are such opponents.
Yeah the same Mike Vick who was an MVP candidate and tearing up defenses for years with lackluster talent around him offensively. Vick wasnt putting up flashing numbers but when he didnt play ATL didnt win.
 
Oregon has hot cheerleaders. One of them was hideous, but her purpose is to make the 9's look like 10's. She serves her purpose.

me or him? I wasn't disagreeing with you, just pleading for some leniency to reserve judgement. I however, will never extol the virtues of Joey Harrington. You will also never catch me saying Hitler was an all right guy, except for that one bad idea.

But let's examine those Oregon cheerleaders.

I'll start with the blondes, you get the brunettes. We can switch on Tuesday.
 
on what Mike Vick? His 38-28-1 record as a starter, the 3 time pro bowler and one time league MVP runner up?

the same Vince Young who finished 10-6 last year and a playoff birth with one less RB. The same Vince Young who was 17 wins as a starter, and the same Vince Young who has no receivers. Its very easy to hand the ball off to a RB or two. When its time for Collins to make plays lets see if he actually does. If he is still the QB come playoff time see how far he can get em.

A QB can only do so much, they need talent around them, and Collins is playing on a more talented team this year than what Young had last year.

Alex Smitn, the QB who had the ability to throw the ball to Brandon Llyod and Antonio Bryant. What a gift.

lets take a look at some great receivers VIck had the pleasure of throwing the ball too. Peerless Price, Mike Jenkins, Fred McCleary, Shawn Jefferson and Trevor Gaylor.

How bout Young- Bo Scaife, Brandon Jones and David Givens.. Please dont give Young too much talent

Mike Vick wasnt shit. He wasnt an athletic QB, he was an athlete who played QB. pleae throw around pro bowls as if that fucking matters. people vote players in, and like the way Vick played becuase it was flashy. and thats ALL it was. all flash, and no substance.

and your OH so wrong. it was actually brought up last week during the game I was watching that the titans returned the most starters of any team in the NFL. Only two different on defense, and one different on offense. So collins is playing with the same team. Sorry.

and that last bit didnt even make sense. Alex Smith sucked. but I guess the combination of Battle and Bruce is oh so superior than Bryant and Lloyd right ?? lol.
 
Vince Could Still be 5-0.

And Tennessee's 4 wins with Collins isnt nothing to rave about.. Cinci, Houston, Minny and Baltimore
 
Not better, but I think they might still be undefeated. Baltimore has a tendency to overpursue, so Vince could have had a big day running the ball against them. The other teams they played sucked, so he could be undefeated.

But that says more about the defense and running game. Brian, I am from Texas. I am a Texas fan. My greatest sports moment is the Texas/USC game. You are turning me away from Vince. I mean, it'll be fine when I wake up, watch highlights of today's game for like, the 37th time, and remember the 05 National Championship. But for now, ouch, bro.
 
Well of course. Young has a special talent that could propel them to somehow win 274 games in a 16 game season. Come on Norcal, you're a football guy, you should know these things!
 
at least Bruce is a proven receiver, and the 49'ers two wins this year isnt nothing to be proud of.

What about Vicks runner up for MVP? Explain that?

The addition of Johnson gives the titans another dimension, something Young didnt have last yr
