College Football LD 10/11/2008

Who gives a crap Tebow is throwing passes, he isnt turnover friendly and he is playing against tougher opponents. Those numbers in a conference like that is ridiculous. 6 interceptions in the SEC, and only one this year...

have you ever watched a fucking football game in your entire life???? The point of the spread option read is to loosen up defenses, make them play honest, which opens passing lanes. ALL spread option QBs have low interception numbers, becuase the vast majority of times they actually throw, their man is wide open. its the system. Same thing for Smith, and Young. both are horrible in the NFL

Arthur Blank gave Michael Vick Alge Crumpler. You take him out of the game and Vick would have to do it all by himself.. Blank gave Vick nobody and expected wins.. Most good QBS have good receivers. Yes Vick could have made them but he never really had the opportunity... White turned out alright but he was young when Vick got him.

Vick never had the talent at receiver, they gave him Price who had like one good year.. Not going to do too much for a team that was desperate for a game changing receiver.

You can expand your argument, NorCal, to include Texas Tech QB's. They put up video game numbers on Saturdays, and then wind up playing video games on Sundays.

I have to give Young this: He got his team to win. He played badly, but they won games with him.

In SPITE of him. they got to the playoffs at 8-8 last year didnt they?? whats their record this year with KERRY COLLINS starting for them??

you guys are right, Young was game change. He changed them from winning to losing.

Which makes the whole point. In college, one player can carry a team. That doesn't work in the NFL. Teabow carries Florida right now, but in the NFL the style he plays will fall flat.

I already addressed why Vick was never good in the NFL.. He never had the talent to play with... young has nothing at receiver in the nfl, and the only reason why they are winning now is because they have the best defense in football.

Back too Tebow, the man is a winner, he's been a winner since he's gotten too Florida, he has a strong arm, good physique, and is a beastly 230+ pounds... the making of a great QB.. Smith was beating up on opponents in like the Mountain West, while Tebow is tearing up the SEC

The defense got them to the playoffs. Yes the offense is just fucking awful, but somehow they won anyway, and this year they have figured that out. They're winning by having the qb manage the game. It seems very similar to what Roethlisberger does for the Steelers.

most TT QBS never displayed the Arm Strength that Tebow has. Nor have they displayed the sheer size of Tebow.

They were 10-6, and vince's career record as a starter is something like 15-7. He wins, and that's good enough for most owners.

Real owners, not fantast owners. You would have to be out of your mind to make Vince Young your fantasy qb.

AND SINCE HE IS IN THE SEC HE ALSO HAS BETTER TALENT AROUND HIM!!! SO ITS A TOTALLY EVEN COMPARISON!!!! sweet jesus man :lmao:

all the stuff your saying is all the same shit that was said about Vick, Culpepper, Vince Young. All of em. fantastic QBs they are.

Tell me, the two QBs in the superbowl last year. did they have strong arms, or accurate ones??? were they physical freaks, or smart guys?? right.

yeah Roethlisber is a game manager. :icon_rolleyes:

Been hearing that for like 5 years now.

Size and arm strength don't make a good NFL QB. If they did Jared Lorenzen would be in the pro bowl every year as would Daunte Culpepper.

He doesnt win. the team won. as is evidence by their record right now, with Kerry Collins starting at QB.

Boy I sure do love repeating myself

Well, Eli does kind of have a cannon. That's a story of how qb's in college make recievers. I can't name one other guy on Ole Miss' offense during the Eli years. The only other guy I can name on those teams was Patrick Willis, but somehoe, Eli made them respectable.

Give Eli Percy Harvin, and then maybe Tim Tebow isn't as vernerated.

both Brady AND Eli have VERY strong arms. but they are known MORE for their accuracy and decision making and reading ability. which was my point.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying I want to see him with some talent. Steve McNair started shitty and wound up being an MVP. So far though, he has been shit.

Vince Young's best game was on a Monday Night loss to the Broncos. He has shown flashes at times, he just hasn't put it together. Alex Smith has never really even shown flashes.

In a couple of weeks Vince will be back starting, as Kerry Collins is about as sturdy as a Feberge egg, and then we'll have a better idea of what he'll be. This kid from ECU seems to give the Titans at least a threat to do something.

Tebow makes good decisions. A decent QB should be able to beat on a conference full of losers like Alex Smith did.

Besides, Culpepper was a good QB because he had Moss too throw too. Most successful QBS had people to throw the ball too.

When Vick and Young went to the NFL what receivers were on their teams?
Rice-Montana
Rice- Young
Bradshaw- Swann, Stallworth
Marvin-Manning
Elway-Smith-Sharpe
Aikman-Irvin
Stabler- Biletnikoff
Fouts-Winslow
Jim Kelly-Reed

Shit even Dan Marino had Clayton
