Cody during the kissing contest was hilarious.

His gimmick reminds me so much of Rick ''the model'' Martel. He is the one who I personally didn't think that Cody was going to be the ''break out'' member of Legacy. I assumed that Ted would be the guy.

I personally feel that he can be something on Smackdown, Not necessarily a main event champion, but I can see him with the Us or IC title. Does anyone else have high hopes for Cody?

When Cody Rhodes turned 'Dashing', I was absolutely thrilled. I think the character trait works perfectly for Cody as a heel, and certainly reverts back to the classic type of vain and egotistical superstar. He's much less of a 'I'm going to beat you down' guy and occupies more of a 'I am endlessly handsome, no matter how I do in the ring' role. I laughed so hard on his first night as 'Dashing' Cody Rhodes when he blurted to a fan "And I can literally hear you getting fatter."
I am a big fan of Cody and I hope to see him contesting for the IC Title soon.

It's a great old school heel gimmick. Maybe now that they split up him and Drew, they can give him more promo time to bash the crowd, instead of just beauty tip vignettes.

I like the gimmick. It shows he has some character. Which is a lot more than what we can say for his "other half". It's a simple gimmick that draws heat pretty easily, but the vignettes really help drive the point home well. He should be allowed more in-ring mic time to see how well he can match up with other guys.

He's main-event material. 2-3 years from here and he'll be the world champ. Yeah, I can see it. He has the potential and he's a 3rd generation superstar. His "Dashing" gimmick will work for him more than anything else. Unless he improvises and doesn't "overact" as Vinnie Mac says. But I personally feel he's doing a great job. And for now, he could hold the U.S/I.C title.

The perfect angle for me seems to be Rhodes v Ziggler IC clash. Ziggler is 'perfection' and Cody could see him as a rival in the dashing stakes. Would be a good way to turn one of them face too, hopefully Dolph.

Cody's gimmick took off so well and nobody saw him being the member of Legacy to stand out. This is no doubt and old school gimmick and it works so well too. Cody doesn't have the look to be main event material, however though, he could rock the mid card for a long long time with what he's got going for him right now. The more mic time he gets the better imo.

This. He plays the "Dashing" character so damn well. I don't think there is anyone else in WWE right now who plays to their character better. His vignettes are annoying as hell but as you said they add to his character. He's is being held down now because Vince thinks he "overacts" which by the way Overacting is better than not acting in the slightest(See: Ted Dibiase). The only bad thing about his character is, if you watched NXT last night the crowd became divided on him. Women were cheering him on but men booed him(Well some did). Even still Cody is only 25 so the sky is still the limit for him and he has alot of years ahead of him and could possibly be the future of WWE.

I don't know if he's main event material yet but I can say there's some strong charisma in those Rhodes genes because every last one of them is certainly entertaining to watch. I would love to see him being managed by Laycool or even Melina. He could have a gimmick similar to HBK when he was handled by Sherri. Wouldn't we would have something the fans would want to watch then

i freaking knew cody would be the breakout one of legacy, i loved it. i was hoping for it too. he's jus so much smoother then ted. i have many high hopes for cody, i say main event in like 3 years.
and have you seen his promo when husky harris was eliminated from nxt it was great.

Cody is one of my favourites, he's charisma is oozing, his gimmick is just brilliant andt he mic work and in ring ability is very good, his self indulged promo's and grooming tips are funny, and after the kissing conest on NXT, this just makes him good main event material in years to come if he steps up to that plate.

I hated the "Dashing" gimmick the very first time I saw it. Thankfully for me, I kept watching. Cody is doing a hell of a job with this role, and for the time being, I think it suits him. "Dashing" may not get him to main even status, but there's no reason to think he can't win an IC title or two.

He's not main event material just yet, but he maybe in a year or so. His current gimmick is pretty good and suits him well, I too thought that Ted would be alot more successful than Cody but there you go. He's decent on the mic, decent in the ring and is pretty over as a heel and now that him and Drew have broke up maybe it's time for him to win the IC Title because that would be a stepping stone towards his push.

I love this gimmick and think Cody is doing a fantastic job with it. I know there was issue with overacting (according to Vince), but I think it actually helps him. Not too many get as involved with their gimmick as much as Cody has. I'm not sure how far he can go with this gimmick, as far as main event and all that, but I could see him having a nice long IC or US title reign. He plays his role perfect, and would like to see him rewarded.

I definitely have high hopes for him. I think he can and probably will be a multi time world champion. As was said in the OP, I wouldn't have expected him to be the one to break out. I always assumed it would be Ted Dibiase too.

They were both sort of boring with Legacy, Orton obviously carried the group. But you just kind of knew that one of them, or both would make it big. Ted continued in his boring ways and has not evolved at all. Even though he has been given a gimmick, a gimmick title and a bitch. He still remains boring and utterly irrelevant!

This Dashing gimmick for Cody has really opened my eyes to him though. It is one of the best gimmicks I have seen in quite a long time. He is so damn good with his vignettes and promos. His in ring abilities and overall excitement when he is out there has really sky rocketed for me.

I can see Cody as a top Heel for a long time. As long as he continues to evolve. Cody has truly surprised me and is someone I think has a brighter future ahead of him than most guys that are dubbed with a bright future!

I have high hopes for Cody Rhodes. He has gotten a lot better, especially after adding the "Dashing" aspect to his heel character. I see him winning a couple of midcard titles and then moving on to eventually be a world title contender one day. It will take him a while to get there but he'll main event eventually. He just has to develop himself more as a heel because people will not take him seriously as a threat to the titles until he gets in some more wins or heel acts.

I guess he has been doing his job well. An ugly guy who thinks he is more handsome than the rest of the people in the arena. I do hate him. I don't know if it is because of his gimmick or just because of his looks. He looks weird without knee pads. I don't think he is main event material, but he could certainly feud for the mid-card titles.

I really like what they've done with Cody Rhodes. In all honesty, he may have been the person whose benefitted MOST from season 2 of NXT. He used it as a platform to further hone his narcissistic gimmick, as well as his in-ring skills. He had a fantastic match with MVP during the show.

When they moved him to Smackdown, I feared he would be lost in the shuffle. When he lost in the first round of the tournament for the vacant IC title championship, I feared so even more.

Enter the "Dashing" gimmick. It's a simple, effective gimmick that screams narcissist. And that's not a bad thing, because it's actually allowed him to show some personality, something he was completely devoid of while in Legacy. Where he goes from here should be interesting, but ZI actually do find himself carving out a nice career in the mid-card, and possibly a World Title run someday.

I've always defended Cody Rhodes amongst the unnecessary hate that he got. I always believed he had potential to be something in WWE. Now that he is using the "Dashing" gimmick, he is now got the ball and is running with it. The way he portrayed his character at Survivor Series was priceless. Whether he will be World Champion or not is VERY hazy, but I definitely right now see him as a solid Intercontinental Champion.

I have always prefered cody rhodes over ted and I knew he would be the breakout one of the two but I didn't know he would do it this well. this character is awesome and he does it well. He had always looked like a pretty boy so it's believable. It's good because he has good mic skills and is a good wrestler, if they use him well he could go far.

Yeah, I think Cody is great at what he's doing right now. The "Dashing" gimmick just suits him to a tee. Ok, I laugh at his knees everytime I see him, but still, he's got a good character going for him right about now.
Give him a year, he should be Main Event material, I hope. Would love to see him win a World Title one day. Give him the IC 1st though.
