CM Punk encounter with The Rock at Mania

On the way back to the dressing room after his grand stage victory over Chris Jericho, WWE Champion CM Punk must weave past a gaggle of costumed “mommas” and musical artist entourages. While Y2J slinks off into the shadows, Punk playfully hops aboard a makeshift conga line in the corridors with Brodus’ dancers, but is also met by applause, praise and pats on the back from quite a few individuals. At the top of that list of live appreciation is the kudos coming from WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. HBK’s notoriety for showmanship at WrestleMania may be something to covet for The Voice of the Voiceless, apropos of “the best.”

Next up is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who fashions a similar power stride en route to the same ramp Punk just descended. It’s time for the final bout of the night – which the champion feels is the spot he and Jericho should’ve occupied – and The Great One is ready to make history. But first, The People’s Champion gives credit where it’s due for one hell of a contest
.

Pretty sweet.

Just goes to show how much the IWC overplays some of the things these guys say about one another in interviews and such. This doesn't look like a picture of a man talking to another man he doesn't like.

:lol:Nah if rock wins the title it would most likely be before Wresltemania 29 like really if rock wants the title he will just get it whos good competition against him only lesnar.

And him and Lesnar might start a feud or as i want to see join forces with undertaker, triple h,Hbk (maybe because hes in the HOF),the rock and Lesnar and take down this pg crappy era.

Absolutely. A lot of people might not think much of the Rock and his leaving the business then coming back etc, but pretty much everyone respects him. At the end of the day it's all about putting on a good match for the fans and that's something the Rock will always remember and want to do. And because of that it's probably part of the reason why people do at least respect him.

Man...totally obvious they hate each other...I mean looks like they might go at it at any second!....As I have said countless times, I think a lot of the stuff Punk said was a "worked shoot" he is the king of those afterall...

Because we all know that I can't pretend to not hate someone while I am in their presence.

Didn't you ever think that CM Punk criticized The Rock for the mere reason to garner heat from 'The Millions?' Because it was during a heel run.

Because I am pretty sure that him speaking out about The Rock over the past 4-5 months or so was during his heel run.

I think that it's just men being men. You speak your mind, then get over it. Last time I checked, Punk didn't say anything overly personal about The Rock. He just said that he acted aloof backstage. A few months later, he said that it had gotten better. So... maybe The Rock put forth a little more effort in being friendly and it was reciprocated, and they got over it.

Also, Punk is bigger than we give him credit for. He looks pretty big in that picture, because Rock is beast in person. I saw him at LAX a year ago. Fuckin monster.

Truth be told, they probably both respect each other for what they've done for the company, even if they don't "like" each other personally.

It was Wrestlemania, Punk just successfully defended the title. Rock knows that feeling. He knows that Punk has been a great champ is way over with the fans. Rock truly does love the fans (despite what some of you bozos think), and so he has to respect Punk for his ability to enterain. This was Wrestlemania and everyone was in a great mood. That's what this picture shows.

Wow! I thought Rock was an asshole backstage, huh punk? Just shows you much much crap comes out of punk everytime he opens up his mouth. The guy is an attention ****e, and he was probably looking for a match against Rock, the same way Cena did. Shamus just said in an interview that Rock is "as cool as ice".

CM Punk is a smart guy it seems. He would be foolish to think the Rock would not be good for business in the WWE. Part of me wants to say that he has been working us and that WWE has used this to lay the foundation for an already planned encounter between the Rock and CM Punk in the near future.

Well they aren't children and both are smart. The IWC thinks it's more in the know than they really are. Wrestlers are carnie by nature and work everyone all the time even when they're not on TV.

Punk probably dislikes that Rock isn't full time, but it doesn't mean he hates him. I don't care if he likes him or not. All I know is that they can work together.
